Hey everyone just wondering if anyone knew of a way to use a WM6 device to a Cisco CallManager as an extension on the system?
-=*)RADAR(*=-
YUP,
I'm curious about this too!
Anyone no how to do this?
This may not be what you're asking, but is the Cisco CallManager the "soft phone" app for their Internet phone? If so, I use the Plantronics PersonoCall (free) app. They have a personal and an enterprise version, but they both seem to work the same.
With a Plantronics multipoint BT headset like the 510 or 615 and the BUA100 BT dongle, answering or making a call on either is seamless, the headset switches back and forth between my PPC-6800 and the soft phone without doing anything on the headset.
I've tried this program with other headsets and dongles, but none work as well as this combination.
Well lemme go into more detail here:
I run a cisco voip network both at home & at work. I would like to use my mobile phone (kaiser aka tilt running Death4 ROM) over WiFi and have it become basically an "extension" on the system. Configuring things on both ends is not a problem since I'm the network admin. Just wasnt sure what software I needed on the windows mobile side, or if it was even possible!
I'm going to look into this software further, thanx for the reply either way!

I did find a software that I have already tested (as of right now) that works perfectly!

Very minimal setup, and pretty robust!

I don't know what version of Call Manager you are running (Call Manager Express, UC500 or Call Manager Appliance). You can do what you want from your kaiser installing in it a Softphone that uses SIP or Skinny (I don't know if exists). On the other hand, you have to have a VPN client in your kaiser installed because remember Cisco sees the extensions as a MAC Address, and you have "to be" inside your netkork. So, raise up a VPN tunnel against your work or home, take an IP Address from there and your SIP phone is gonna log into your call manager as if you was inside your office.
What's the problem I have? I'm know using Kaiser or Windows Mobile device and I don't know any softphone. I don't know what to use. I want to know if exists any free software but I also want to know which ones are paid.
Good Luck.
Guido.
hi, do you have any soulution for HTC VOX (710) "[ROM] Snap v1.4 [build 21040]" ? I tried "VTGO for PocketPC " but i cannot install this app.
thank you
Im trying out the microsoft sms add-in to outlook 2007, but it demands that the phone is connected as a modem to the PC. Seems like when I use internet sharing application, vista wont add the phone as a modem (it still works to go online though).
So, do anyone know if theres any bluetooth/usb modem drivers for the polaris or any other similar HTC phone?
Many thanks
not in internet sharing mode... but you can try sharing it with WmWifiRouter, connect with activesync and use a remote controll app like SOTI Pocket Controller Pro... if you want to sent messages using your keyboard...
I had this problem before, fixed it by changing the "network connection" to Mobile web, I think, instead of o2 active. Or the other way around.
I dont get it. Why it is not working for me on any computer, with windows xp, windows 7 and windows server 2008?
I tried it on several wifi-networks, I get an IP and everything like surfing on the web or contacting the router etc works.
But if I try to connect via Remote Desktop Mobile, it stucks on "Connecting.."
What I tried:
- connect from other desktop-computers via remote desktop - works.
- add a new user with password because someone told me that is relevant - dont work
- connect via IP or Hostname, with Username and password and without - dont work
- Tried several versions of RDM on my hd2 - none works.
Does anyone has a hint for me what I could try else to get this crap working? Yes of course I could make a VNC - Server and connect via a viewer like dotnet-vnc-viewer (actually I tried that and it works, so why not via remote-desktop-mobile?)
Personally, I can connect with the IP address and nothing else (I actually use a dynamic DNS service, but that just resolves a name to an IP, so it's the same thing). If I do it like that then I get my normal windows login prompt and can enter a username and password.
What actually happens if you do that?
I assume you have been able to connect in the past with other winmo devices. Did you enable remote access on the host machine. Right click My Computer--Remote Access Tab. Win7 can be funny. You may have to disable enhanced security. I've had no problems connecting, but I only connect on my home wifi.
In order for remote desktop to work you MUST have a password in your account !
In addition to requiring a password, the WinMo RDP client does not support Network Level Authentication for RDP connections. You need to disable that on the host.
i seriously doubt you will be able to connect with the mobile version of RDP to either a Windows 7 or a Server 2008 Machine. The most likely case will be that you can not connect because Win7/2008 thinks you are on a unsafe OS -.-
You get the same problem when trying to connect to a windows 7 remote desktop from XP as well. Nothing new at all

I can connect fine to Windows 2008 R2, Windows 2008, Windows XP SP1, SP3 (didn't test SP2), Windows 2003 Server, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. Its not everything, but mostly everything. I tested this with the stock ROM and EnergyROM.

I agree. You are warned that it is "potentially unsafe to connect". However, you can simply click something like "Connect anyway" and check off "Do not warn on future connections to this computer". Problem solved.
And to be clear, this is NT 6.x RDP Client to NT 5.x Host.
NT 6.x ~ Vista/7 & Server varients, NT 5.x (XP, etc).
This may not be the problem or any help to you as there are probably other more technical reasons why its not working for you.
I also struggled for a long time to get working but it never did but as I didn't really need it I never tried too hard. Until one day I Installed Windows 7 Ultimate. Then it just worked as it should.
So I assumed you had to have the Ultimate Version of Windows for it to work. I may be wrong though.

Try to disable the phone, set it in flight mode, and just use wi-fi... btw have you enabled your server as an "terminal server"? i noticed that i just can connect to "terminal servers" never could connect to a work station, just a server.....
Strangely enough I just set this up yesterday, and it worked fine connecting to a Windows 7 box.
I just edited the port used (on PC I wanted to control) and forwarded the port through my router...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\RDP-Tcp\PortNumber
I then allowed blank passwords in Local Policies...
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Administrative Tools\Local Security Policy -> Local Policies\Secuirty Policies\Accounts: Limit local use of blank passwords (Disable)
It connected fine over the network and over the internet (using dynadns org account). It was impractical to use though because of the resolution and my fat sausage fingers, but still pretty cool.

Ok guys, thanks for your help so far.
Okay, I will try to clarify my situation:
I already tried to connect with Flight-Mode, only wifi working. I CAN ping my HD2 and can ping the host I want to connect to.
My Account on the host HAS got a password set.
I already TRIED to put in only the IP (dont work) or either the IP, USER (dont work) OR IP, USER and PASSWORD. (dont work).
It's not a OS-Problem as far as I see, because from my WINXP Laptop I CAN connect to a WIN 7 PRO box AND a Windows Server 2008, so the Computers are configured correctly I suppose. On Windows 7, I also checked "Allow connections from any hosts running any version of Remote Desktop Mobile" (lowest security).
What the hell is wrong.. I flashed another ROM on my hd2 because I thougt maybe its ROM-related.. but that didnt help =/
to bad :-((
Thats to bad... i have a win2003 (rc2) at home, enabled Terminal server and open for rdp in my firewall/router and flashed miri v09 yesterday, opened rdp on my hd2 from work just now and connected trough gprs without doing any changes to my hd2... but like i sayed i have just been able to connect to servers..
mideel, check your messages
Thanks for your effort so far, no solution is avaiable for me yet.
I tried the hints of waxfresh which he sent me over PM (Portforwarding, set a Password, disable Firewall / Antivirus (I dont use any)..)
damn..like I said before.. a VNC connection worked without problems and configuration of ports or anything at LAN, so why doesnt it just work with Remote Desktop..

nice to read that I'm not the only one with this problem
Maybe together we can find out whats wrong with us or our versions of remote desktop mobile.
I'm currently on 2.10 german custom ROM if that matters, but the problem exists for a long time now, used 2.02 before.
task 29
Have u all done the MTTY( task 29) before you flashed a new rom?
Nope i didnt.. but could THIS be the problem? I flashed only 4 times since I got my HD2. Dont know how often I should do this task29

Hello All,
XDAndroid 2.2.1 (fxr04)
After some trail and error I have CSipSimple app working as my voip wifi app on an HTC Touch Pro phone on my lan.
Problem: I can never get the phone to register to my LAN/server , remotely.
I have,of course tried all the extra 'proxy server',etc, settings.
I have two of these phones and they both register fine remotely using PortGo under WinMO so i know this is not firewall related.
I run into this same scenario quite a while back trying to use the native WinMo sipstack. It too, would work ok on lan but no wan. It appears the stack simply can not traverse nat correctly. Thus I had to use a thrid party(PortGo) app.
Note: I ONLY use this phone under wifi(I'm cheap).
Has anyone else gotten a reliable voip app for the Android phone?
Thank You,
Barry
Hi didn't know where this question would fit in i hope someone finds it. (noob to xda-developers )
the problem:
when the wm5 pda has no watchguard vpn client installed all networking works fine and system doesn't crash.
with vpn client installed
1. wifi comes up with "dhcp server could not be contaced. using cached lease information"
2. usb connection to activesync fails to connect doesnt even pick it up or make any sounds on device or pc.
3. system randomly crashes with device.exe crashed send error report bla bla.
4. bluetooth seems to funtion ok still
symtoms go away once vpn client uninstalled
i need some help on configuring the software before installing on device basically but i cant see where i'm going wrong, i'm guessing its a firewall issue in this software as its the networking connections that are having problems, before crash occurs randomly. link to software for reference.
cant post link but google ncp vpn windows mobile trial
Note. the standard windows mobile vpn connection works fine however theres to many clicks and the connection is to easy to delete as "delete" is right next to "connect" when you go through manage connections.
if there was a one click way to start the vpn connection like or script or something i could then assign that to a shortcut button.
Background info:
I have a unitech PA500 PDA with laser scanner bluetooth and wifi, reps of the company need to send orders collected back to base easily,
Using xp sp3 pc with activesync 4.5 and usb data cable or bluetooth connection.
the watchguard client installer for wm devices, has firewall profile settings and this is set to off other choices are: off with rules to deny or: on with rules to allow.
i have a watchguard edge x750e firebox firewall at base and have all the relevent software to install the watchguard windows mobile ipsec vpn client Built on (NCP Secure Entry Windows Mobile Client) compatible with wm5/wm6
link to trial software of ncp version if anyone wishes to see the configuration options available to me.
cant post link but google ncp vpn windows mobile trial
i have setup the profiles for connection using the wizard on the main watchguard edge firebox, configuration user password etc. all tested ok as it has worked on these devices using the bluetooth connected to mobilephone 3g internet. but as described above all other connectivity has problems
i have 3 scanners one of which has been reflashed with the lastest wm5 rom
(this one seems to be more prone to crashing than the others)
available on the unitech website the other tested as they are original rom i don't know how to check if the one on the website is newer than the preinstalled version.
i have the the PDA's preconfigured to use Blackberry 3G network via bluetooth as the internet connection
i have a watchguard edge x750e firebox firewall at base and have all the relevent software to install the watchguard windows mobile ipsec vpn client Built on (NCP Secure Entry Windows Mobile Client) compatible with wm5/wm6
Using xp sp3 pc with activesync 4.5 and usb data cable or bluetooth connection.
the watchguard vpn client is very simple when it doesnt crash the device
any help would be greatly appreciated.
