As the title suggests?
I will be hard-SPLing my Stellar (when I swap my faulty one) and installing a custom ROM, but would obviously like the option to revert to stock if needed and if someone has already got the roms it'll save me a job.

Right now I have the stock ATT Tilt rom on my phone with the original 1.27 radio drivers I think.
I'm new to flashing cell phones but have been reading a lot on here so I am wondering if this is the right way to go about things. Here is my though process...
Take a Sprite backup of my phone and save to storage card.
Install HardSPL so I can actually flash a cooked rom.
Flash the cooked rom
Pretend I don't like 'x' rom and want to go back to how I was
Flash original ATT rom back to phone.
Restore backup.
Is that possible or the right way to go about this? I like the way my phone is now but am looking to get a little more speed/performance out of it while still being able to run all the apps that I use.
I guess I'm just looking to go back to the way it was in the event that I don't like 'x' rom.
Yes you can pretty much how you listed it.
Great, thanks. I'll have to try one of the roms in a couple days. There are so many great ones to choose from.
Flash original ATT rom back to phone.
Just make sure you have downloaded the correct ATT rom (and if required radio) for when/if you flash back.
I've tried srerching the boards to no avail but I was wondering if there were any downoad links to restore a HTC S710 back to the original BT mobile rom?
Thanks for any help.
EDIT-
I am asking for this as I have flashed her S710 with a different rom and it seems to have developed a fault where it has started vibrating randomly. She's had it for months and its worked fine up until now.
I don't think there is such a ROM. It's some base ROM and than BT stuff is added to it.

Check out the vibrations. they might not be random. they might be due to some software or script. (unless you have already checked and ruled out this option)

Click to collapse
Yes look if there are around files with *.mscr extension, maybe in the /Windows/Startup folder
Here is the link where you can restore to BT settings.

Andy.

Chazam - did you ever get to the bottom of this. As i see it the link above only gives you the additional BT Braodband-Anywhere software which you load on top of a base ROM, and i think that it is the Base ROM you are after. the reason i ask is that I want to flash my S710 with one of the cooked ROMs on this forum, but like you if i need to send it back to BT i need to restore it back to it's factory default?
Does anyone know if it possible to extract the original ROM and then flash it back in the future? (probably not as simple as that but i can only ask????
Hello guys!
I have a very big problem. The screen of my VarioIV doesn't work any more and so i want to send it back to T-Mobile and get a new one. The problem is, that a cooked rom is installed.
I already have the original German Rom on my PC (one file called: ruu_signed.nbh), but as far as i know, you can't just flash such a rom without using the screen, like with a cooked rom.
What can I do guys?
Thanks!
Newly rooted HTC Inspire, my picture messaging stop working after i rooted my phone does anyone know how to fix it?
I haven't flashed any ROMs to my phone yet or done anything to it fo real
The ROM left on your phone after rooting it was never meant to be left on there. Pick a new ROM and flash it to your device.
Also you might wan't to flash a new Radio/Ril because I was/am still having some problems. It gets a little easier though once you can flash ROM's and Radios faster.
About 7 years ago a friend gave me their old HTC Evo Shift that wouldn't boot, I decided to flash it with cyanogenmod 7 to see if it would work and to my surprise it did. Given that I wasn't able to boot to stock I didn't bother to save any contents of the existing ROM (if that was even possible?).
Recently I found it again and I wanted to see if I could flash it back to the stock HTC Sense ROM, however I'm having trouble finding the stock ROM, was it ever released? If so does anyone know where I could find it?
