Receiving MMS whilst using Exchange Activesyn - General Topics

Does anyone else suffer from the following problem..? When sync'd via Exchange Activesync the phone keeps the gprs connection open 24/7. This is fine and exactly what you would expect. The problem is that when I get sent an MMS I cannot download it because on Orange in the UK you need to be connected using the OrangeMMS APN rather than Orange Internet to get MMS. The phone just attempts to download the MMS via Orange Internet as that is already connected.
Is there anyway I can get it to change when required? At the moment I have to manually disconnect Orange Internet then connect Orange MMS, download the MMS then reconnect to Orange Internet!

XDA II MMS and Internet together

Is there a way to get the XDA II to use Orange GPRS for internet, and Orange MMS for picture messaging. They are both configured and when left on auto pick it always choosed MMS. So the internet dont work. IUf i fix it to GPRS the internet works but MMS doesnt.
I use My Work Network to connect the internet and private networks, because i also have WiFi for Active sync and internet whilst at work and home.
If i set use MMS for private networks, the MMS and internet work, but active sync doesnt. I am going mad, and Ornage wont help.

CROSSBOW GPRS issue

The GPRS is alway connectioning. It seems like every time I have to use something that uses the internet the connection bubble shows. I thought my phone was always connected on the internet. I still do not has MMS working. Have input the the server info but it always displays error synorizing when I click send/receive.
Which cell provider do you have? With T-Mobile and my G4 running Faria's latest I only stay connected to an Edge link when I am using it. Otherwise it disconnects until I need it again.
As for the MMS, I could help you with the settings if you have T-Mobile. I was able to get mine sending and receiving fine. I still have that small picture size issue, though.

I have the same issue! But my just connects with GPRS and turns on the display that is off. Realy annoying..I use Comviq in sweden.

Polaris Partially Connecting

I have my brand spankin' new TC on Rogers here in canada. Ran the auto connection wizard, great! I have Internet! But I get the cannot connect error every time i send or receive email using outlook. I have tried everything I know, is there something you can suggest? It works fine over WIFI, and ActiveSync via USB. But over the 3G there is nothing!
OK, I figured it out.
For future reference.
When your setting up the email account, do it manually as opposed to allowing the auto set up to happen. And at the outgoing mail server screen select advanced options and make sure it connects to your carrier (In my case "Rogers Internet") internet connection.

o2 network connection problem...

Anyone noticed that o2 has changed their network setup?
I'm a regular ROM flasher and when i start the connection it used to connect to "O2 UK" but now it gives you the option of "O2 postpay" & "O2 prepay".
(I choose the postpay option)
The problem I have is with my MMS server now that i have to choose postpay or prepay...
When connecting using the old connection MMS wouldn't connect to wap for anything other than MMS, but now it will connect for anything (i.e. email, weather, opera/IE, etc)
Does anyone know how to make my MMS server to only allow MMS to use it for connection? (I'll be using Mobile internet connection for other connections)
(Already using 'Data Connection' program to turn it off when not needed but what a hassle!)

[Q] MMS error "Can't send message..." on WiFi only

Hi all,
I'm running the 8107 build on my unlocked v1.4 Samsung Focus.
For some reason, when I'm connected to WiFi, I'm unable to send MMS messages - when doing so, I receive a "Can't send message Try again" error.
If I disable WiFi at that point (revert to 3G) and try to resend the msg, it is sent without issue.
Whatdya' think?
Thanks!
Are you turning cellular data off and then going to wifi? You need cellular data on to send MMS. MMS can't be done over wifi.

Nope - phone just picks up the WiFi connection automatically (as it's been previously connected).
My wife has a non-unlocked v1.3 Focus, and she has no issues sending MMS when connected to the same WiFi network (?)
i have the same problem with my htc 7 pro. but i found out that it has nothing to do with wifi, the mms of wp7 are concepted only to use 3g and not wifi internet connection, it has something to do with the MMSC server where the messages come in from your device. and MMS and SMS look similar but are two different systems in message delivery.
an other way to send it over wifi is with an email to the recipient in this form [email protected] PTN is public telephone number and the carrier name is carrier specific... thats the only way sending over wifi/http.
