Anyone noticed that o2 has changed their network setup?
I'm a regular ROM flasher and when i start the connection it used to connect to "O2 UK" but now it gives you the option of "O2 postpay" & "O2 prepay".
(I choose the postpay option)
The problem I have is with my MMS server now that i have to choose postpay or prepay...
When connecting using the old connection MMS wouldn't connect to wap for anything other than MMS, but now it will connect for anything (i.e. email, weather, opera/IE, etc)
Does anyone know how to make my MMS server to only allow MMS to use it for connection? (I'll be using Mobile internet connection for other connections)
(Already using 'Data Connection' program to turn it off when not needed but what a hassle!)

Could someone please be of assistance?
I’ve set up my connection as follows:
My Connection: Cellular Line GPRS, Access point name: Internet. With this I’ve been able to surf the net and send and receive e-mail (obviously having set up e-mail accounts).
Then I set up MMS with settings I received from my service provider.
Now under settings (manage existing connections) it lists: Auto Pick, MMS GPRS & My connection.
I assume auto pick selects which service to use i.e. if you are using Internet Explorer it should select My Connection Internet and if you select MMS Composer, it should select MMS GPRS. Unfortunately mine does not. On Auto pick it selects the first service after it which is MMS GPRS.
Have I missed a setting?
Thanks

Hello,
I've tried searching the forums, but couldn't find an relevant threads. I've got Pocket MSN Messenger (not the live messenger beta) on my Hermes but I can't connect to the service. Every time I try I get an error message saying that the device couldn't connect to the service.
I'm on T-mobile, with the £7.50 web'n'walk data tariff and am in an area with 3G coverage.
Does anyone know what the problem is or what I can do to sort it out?
Cheers
Paul.
Are you able to connect to the Internet through Pocket IE? If so, if you have proxy server settings set up (Start -> Settings -> COnnections [tab] -> Connections [icon] -> Set up my proxy server), try fiddling them, and re-connecting. That may work.
Connection to the internet is fine for everything (Internet Explorer, SPB Weather, push email), but I don't connect through a proxy server.
Ok, my operator uses 2 different connection, one for data, and another for MMS. The problem is that when I receive new MMS, my device connects the data connection, and the MMS can't be downloaded through it. How can I configure my device to use the MMS connection for new MMS, and the other one for everything else.
i dont think it possible as this is set by the operator so you can be priced correctly
Actually this is quite common, my carrier also does this.
What you need to do in connections is have the data settings (for internet use etc) in the My ISP part and the MMS settings in the My Work Network section.
Then click advanced tab in connections. Ensure in the "programs that automatically connect to the internet.... says My ISP" and in the "programs that automatically connect to a private network...... says My Work Network".
This should work and does indeed work on both my devices.
I'll give it a try.
And yes, it's made to be taxed correctly, I have to be taxed for data connection, but not, when I'm receiving a MMS .
I have the following situation:
I received a Raphael for work purposes with push mail activated and i'm able to receive through gprs my work mails, go on internet using opera
at home I connect through Wlan to my router and I'm able to download emails from gmail and update my weather tab on flow3D
However I'm not able to:
- update the weather tab in flow3D using GPRS, only through Wlan
- update my gmail and hotmail through GPRS
- go on internet with opera using WLan
Purpose: I would like to link/update data using gprs or wlan for all applications except of course my work mail (this is using a proxy) depending were I am because wlan is cheaper and faster...
Any help?
Thanks a lot
any help please?
You havent given any info on your network, but try going into your data connection settings and turning off the proxy (not your work e-mail proxy, the 3g one) it causes a load of connection problems with some carriers.
Hy...
Changed from sense to cm7 (hyper sensation)
i always disable mobile internet network, gprs, bluetooth etc. only connection for phonecalls and sms/mms was enabled.
if i need mobile internet, i enable manual.
the problem is since i changed to cm7 i need to enable mobile internet connection to send mms and becoming new ones.
is there a trick to say the sms/mms apk (now i try handcent sms) use temporary internet connection to send or download a mms???
"htc sence 3.5" does it before. i never had to enable the internet connection...thanx...
never mind... the set up is up to date. the swisscom mms APN set up is exactly how it should be. there is just no blue point like for the other gprs APN.
