I've heard recently that my Palm Treo 750 has ATi Imageon graphic chip with the possibilities of converting every program from 320x240 into 240x240 resolution.
After first couple of programs and games everything was looking just like that.
But yesterday i have installed some games and 1/4 of game does not appear on Palm's screen?
beside that, my status line turned black and some lines appeared (must reset).
do you know anything about this>>
AFAIK the program should be written to be able to work with other resolutions. I.E. it works in 240 x 240, 240 x 320 and 480 x 640.

Hi, here is a new version of a camera program, which runs under WM5: http://zone1.de/smartphone/index.html#experimental (right down at the bottom). Version 0.04 allows the selection of a video format and streams the video from the buil-in camera to the PC. The smallest video size is recommended, because the video is not compressed. On PC side, the video format can be controlled via registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Virtual Gadgets\VgCam\VideoFormat, with the following values:
FourCC (BINARY 4 Bytes)
Width (DWORD)
Height (DWORD)
BitsPerPixel (DWORD)
PixelCorrection (DWORD)
SwapUV (DWORD)
If the registry key does not exist, this default is used: I420, 176, 144, 12, 1, 1 (works excellent with a connected HTC S310)
I am interested in the video formats that other devices support. The device must be connected over ActiveSync. Configure the firewall appropriate. When you have tested, please post the result, the name of the device, and the listed video formats. The experimental version is free. Later you will get a discount on the full version (when it is finish... ;-)
I just read the other thread about video formats - its a long-running issue! - If the device shows YV12 then use I420 or IYUV on PC side.
Thanks and greetings
This is sweet. I can't figure out how to get it to work with any of the messengers though.
Thank you for the request. For the messengers you need the DLL. Here is a step-by-step instruction:
Put the "VgCam 0.04.dll" into the same folder on your PC where VgCamSetup.exe is.
Run VgCamSetup.exe. It sets the video format and also registers the DLL.
In the webcam setup of your messenger select "VG Camera" as camera source (but it works not with all messengers, and not all video formats are possible, as pointed out on the website, see post #1)
If you got it working (even if only with VgCamView.exe) it would be great if you could inform me of the name of your device and the video formats, which are listed on it, because I have not enough test devices. Here are the possible video formats of two devices, on which the application was tested:
HTC S310 (USB with 10 MBit/s)
YV12 176 x 144 @ 20 fps
YV12 320 x 240 @ 6 fps
YV12 352 x 288 @ 5 fps
XDA Neo (HTC Prophet)
YV12 144 x 176
YV12 240 x 320
YV12 288 x 352
Thanks and regards
wow
Its also possible to run this as an WLAN device in your network and connect it wireless so you can move around while (f.e.) VLC is recording it... very (!) nice.
love it.
Test on eten x800

Hi there,
I was watching yesterday a divx movie (320 X 240) using Coreplayer on my new IPAQ 614c.
1) I was surprised to see kind of stripes (evidenced in the black background (top right panel), see attached file). I have to say that I do not have this pattern on other devices (tested on a Dell and Eten PPC) using the same software and movie.
2) Changing the color profile (to native) helped. So is it the reason for this difference observed an other devices.
3) This does not happen for all movies. As such, some other movies (also in 640X480) just run very nicely. Therefore, I believe this has nothing to do with the hardware.
Do U also experience this?
Any feedback appreciated
Nobody?
Thanks
never heard about or seen the issue but then i dont watch movies really on my device
but in TCPMP the free version of coreplayer one can choose different drivers for play back i if i were you would try and see if changing the driver in coreplayer had any effect
I watched wanted on my Athena (VGA) on a plane last week and it was fine, no jaggediness, or black lines, and that is a pretty dark film too.
Rory
I've watched a few TV episodes and some Bourne, really good quality though. Only thing I'm trying to work out is the A/V offset.
Thanks for the answers...
I will try to play with the drivers.
Anyway, I was looking at the same episode in 640X480 and had no black line at all...
So strange
Looks like it is better choosing IntelXScale as a driver...
Also the benckmarks are better with these drivers...
Will put later this afternoon the different benchmarks.
Thanks again
Discussion over
I do not know why but I did not have IntelXscale selected (I think I was playing a bit too much with the options).
Anyway, the problem is solved now using this driver.
Also, a benchmark with the well-known Matrix trailer (640X352, Bitrate: 127 kb/s) gives nice results:
DirectDraw: 94.93%
IntelXscale: 216.58%
GDI: 106.57%
i just got the new coreplayer and it only shows the tytn2 driver..
is this better or is there somewere i could get this interxscale driver?
just playd a video that comes allong with the xperia, as a video sample
benchmark results were
Average speed 62,50%
Original data rate = 922 kbit/s
Bench. data rate = 576 kbit/s
maybe the IntelXscale dont show up because you dont have an intel xscale cpu
but an qualcomm ?
I have done a quick search here and on google and found a couple of apps that are freeware that allow to force a certain resolution downwards from the native resolution.
This is my issue. I have a couple of old apps that come from WM2003 times that where specifically written for QVGA and on there they don't look right. Is there a registry hack or any software out there that will force the screen to display 240x320 by default.
I know this is kinda silly to run the phone in a lesser resolution it was designed to do, but I hope someone might have a solution to this?
Thx
I think there was an app for switching between 640x480 (VGA) 480x800 and 480x480, but not for lower resos im afraid
Ok, a question that needs answering that has popped up in my mind from time to time is about resolution.
#1. If a person buys a Asus P565, or Touch Diamond with 640x480 VGA res display, will the games and programs that used to run in 320x240 on my TYTN res be now a small square on the screen?
#2. Or again, If a person buys a Sony Xperia X1 or the Asus P835 (Glaxy 7) and is running a program that used to run on a 320x240 display but now it is running on the Xperia that has a 800x480 will it be in a small square, or will it be full screen and all distorted, will it be cut off on the sides, what happens?
Basically, what happens? Will everything be screwed?
The answer to the problem?
Doesn't anyone know what will happen?
there r some apps which are auto resolution or use force mode. Also there are few progs developed here by the developers for resolving the resolution. So no need to b panicky
HEHEEHH
I was actually a little nervous, so when you wrote panicky i laughed ehehheeh.. Thank man!
Problem with my resolution.
I am having a problem running some games and apps that were designed for 320x240 rez, now that I have a device running at 640x480. Does anyone know what is available that could help me?
Hi,
As the users of this device know, Avegant supplied frame packed 3D for this device. I'm trying to use this option effectively in Windows but I have some problems.
I have a GTX 1080 Ti graphics card and a Dell 27" monitor attached via display port.
I'm using HDMI port to connect to Glyph.
I watched HSBS content with this device successfully before the update. But the quality was not very good ( because of SBS resolution is cut in half )..
For example with 1280x720 HSBS, there is 640x720 image per eye and the resulting image is not very good.. Even if the original video is 1920x1080 HSBS, because display resolution is 1280x720, it's first downscaled to 1280x720 and displayed same as the 1280x720 HSBS.
So, now I'm trying to use Stereoscopic Player to display HSBS video as frame packed with no success.. As you may guess, with frame packed it's possible to play 1920x1080 HSBS as 1280x720, upscaled from 960x1080 ( yeah there's a small ratio problem but I could fix it ).
First of all I'm using Nvidia 3d play as output, and set it to display on glyph when played full screen when stereo option is enabled.
I ran the setup wizard on Nvidia control panel and enabled 3D successfully. Something occurred though... Before when I set the desktop resolution to 1280x720 with 3D enabled, Windows displayed flipping menu items in 3D, now it's not. I also ran Trine game from Steam, and the Stereoscopic settings are disabled there also. I could also see that the image is not in 3D. So it actually works while setting up, but after that there are no effects in anywhere. It doesn't kick in.
What could be wrong and how could I fix this?
