Keyboard Typing Slow

Im having a problem.. my keyboard is being realllyyy slow.. i can finish typing a whole sentence of 10 words and it will only be on the second word and loading the rest. Im using Dutty's newest rom.. any way to fix this?

You didn't read the first couple of posts in the Dutty thread. You didn't post this in the thread on that ROM...which is where this belongs. You didn't read the Wiki page on Dutty's ROMs and you didn't search the thread for the answer. Now you have forced me into it. I have to go kick a bunch of puppies. I have to shave a few kittens and throw them in that big pool of water. And it's all because you didn't do any of these things that follow forum etiquette and would have answered your question because it's been addressed many dozens of times before. I cannot take the blame for the punishment of those cute furry animals. This is all because of your post. All you had to do was check the wiki to see that you need to install the Disable XT9 cab file to fix this. But no...you wanted me to punish the puppies and kittens.

Then the next thing to try from the discussions that have been had on this would be to change your autocomplete settings to suggest fewer words or turn autocomplete off depending on your preference. In the future, however, please keep questions related to a specific ROM in that ROM's thread. You will get help faster that way and you won't get smacked about with a large trout whilst being flamed.

Firstly, please learn how to type coherently. Secondly, your post has nothing to do with this thread and offers nothing useful to this thread. Thirdly, personal attacks are not wanted or needed and are, in fact, in poor taste and show that you have a high level of immaturity. Fourthly, nothing in my reply had anything to do with what "rom" is coolest. Fifthly, you obviously missed the point of humor in the reply.
And for the record, typing things like "dat" and "den" and using phrases including both "yo" and "homes" only makes you look like a 12 year old attempting and failing at looking hip and cool. Please spare us all the pain of watching you contort yourself in such a way that you are actually able to wear your buttocks as a hat.

I agree with jarek091, and wonder WTH you are trying to accomplish here - you are not contributing anything useful, and your incredibly poor 'grammar / street talk / whatever the hell it is' is incredibly annoying. By your own admission you have a maturity level of 12, so why don't you go find a forum where that is appropriate, like maybe MySpace?

This goes beyond just not searching... At this point you're not even reading. There are several radio rom posts in this forum.

Well it had to happen, in fairness, I know announcements are sometimes overlooked. Maybe they should be in 72pt extra large BOLD or something.
Actually I think I will leave this thread to drift around, just in case others fail to see the announcement. It will save folks having to answer if others have the same question.

I think the 72pt font also needs to flashing and changing colors to really get people attention...because obviously reading is a lost art in this day and age.

Well, maybe not so, AllTheWay. I mean I feel kind of sorry for the poor guy. I mean, obviously he can't read and he has such a nice device. I can only imagine what contract he signed for his cellular service. It probably has an ETF of his first born or a kidney or something.
Maybe if the default announcements would show as a PM notice (that couldn't be turned off until a user hit's x number of posts) with a sexy man or woman (don't want to discriminate ) that reads the announcement with word highlighting for the user to follow along with. Maybe then people will actually read...
Or maybe not.

most people nowaday prefer to ask questions and want to get answer right there. They dont read anymore, not even skim/scan. Next time if you have an announcement, create a flash movie with audio that speaks what you want and put it up here. If they dont read the word in the flash movie, they could still hear.

AT&T Tilt Unlock walk through

So it took me many hours to figure this out, and I am sure there are some people staying up late at night trying to unlock there AT&T tilt's. You may succeed in unlocking your tilt, but what happened to your camera? Or what happened to your calls? Its all messed up right?
Thats what XDA developers would like to call, the "Radio". Your radio is not liking your phone so it acts up.
Long story short, start here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=375583 with the Kaiser unlock. Follow all of that mumbo jumbo than when your done, go here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=421007. This second link is the original radio for your tilt that will pretty much restore the phone to its normal radio, yet keep your phone unlocked and kick BUTT!!!!!
Enjoy and if there is there is anybody you should donate to it would be either of those links
NOTE!!!!!! The second link can be performed ONLY on the AT&T tilt. Not the TYTN II, or any other type, just the Tilt.

Truth be told, I am a noobie just getting the hang of it all
the purpose of this thread was to save some people some time. I spent many hours on my phone, and once i found the solution, I decided to spread the word. If I did something wrong or could have posted this in a better fashion, than please, somebody let me know. Besides that.

no you did nothing wrong, and i to like your poll, but the mods might feel this thread is redundant because there are already thread/threads describing how to unlock a kaiser. i'm just glad your first thread was about this and not "which rom is best", i hate those

Are you going on every section and posting a thread with this title that asks questions that are vague and easily searchable?

Well i have different questions that should be in different parts of the forums, I dont understand while people insist on submitting that on the forum. If you wish not to help just move along.

I am helping you. I told you to use the search, which is going to help you a lot more than you think. Even browsing through these threads, I'm sure you see that a lot of these processes can be a bit extensive. And, especially when you ask vague questions like in the original post, no one can help because you're not saying anything specifically (WHICH launcher are you looking to change to? etc. etc.)
Get it? Gonna' use that search? Hope so.

I normally don't like this kind of answer but in this case i would have to agree with TJ, start from the beginning first, have the device rooted and flash your custom ROM then everything will come easier

These guys are just morons. In the time you guys wrote all that crap, you could have just answered his question or atleast guide him.
Even thought you can somewhat modify the appearance, and customize it to your linking, you will need to root your phone in order to modify certain elements.
For beginner I suggest you download a few apps that will allow you to do some minor tweeking. Here's a list of a few apps to start you off.
Launcher pro
Beautiful widgets
Pure calendar
Flickie
Switch pro

So we're morons because we didn't post a broad answer with suggestions of five different things like you? I think you should wisen up before you start slinging around insults that describe yourself more than anyone else.
There's an old saying that goes, "If you give a man a fish, you feed him for the night, but if you teach him to fish, you feed him for a lifetime."
THAT'S the mentality that goes into showing people the usefulness of the search tool. Unless it's something profound or newly developed by that particular person, odds are it's been discussed and can be found with the search tool.
You above just gave him tips to different kinds of launchers, and suggested things like rooting his phone, but didn't post any kinds of links to tutorials or downloads for the apps themselves... are you expecting him to SEARCH for these things himself or what?... exactly.

I didn't give him a smart answer, and I not only respected him, but gave reasoning as to why I gave the answer that I did... in fact, the only person to be dissrespectful and give an answer that doesn't truly help is... well... you. LMFAO. IN fact, I think I called you out pretty in depth, and your response was a childish sentence with a "name" inserted. Get real. But, I guess you were "answering me with the best of your knowledge", so I shouldn't expect anything more, eh?

Annoyed with HTC inspire

If there is anyone out there can help me root my HTC inspire 4g. I tried everything and nothing is working. I just want to get rid of these useless apps and better battery life cause right now this phone is useless. Please help

Best thing I can tell you, before you get flamed for that post, is read. Also, you need to be more specific with your issue. If you want someone to hand hold you through the process, your probably not going to find the help you are looking for. Reading and searching are your friends. I am not being mean in anyway. People have gotten flamed in the past for a post like that. First, you didn't say if you've already searched. Second, you mention very little detail of your problem. Third, you don't mention which rooting method you are using and where you are in the process. Just on the last point alone, I think you are trying to have someone walk you through the process. In which case, you don't need to root if you won't take the time to read, read, and read again, and try the process yourself. Not trying to jump on ya, just from your post it seems like you are not even trying to help yourself first. If you have a genuine issue, please, give us more detail to make an effort to help you.

So... The phone is useless as it is? Why would you buy a useless phone?
Because you didnt discover it was useless until it was too late, like, after 31 days of having it?
Don't blame the phone for your inability to do what 90% of the people in these sections of XDA managed to do just fine.
Now, maybe you should go do a little reading.
Then, if, after you've made an honest attempt to figure it out using the plethora of resources at your disposal here, you still run into problems, and are willing to provide a little more insight into the nature of your specific problem, people might be a bit more willing to lend a hand.

Man rooting an inspire is not that hard. You just need to follow directions. Read up on the root methods available watch the videos choose your preferred method read the tutorial and watch the video AGAIN then do it. 99% of the time it will work. I used the hack kit But ive heard bubbys works great too. My inspire was rooted 20 mins after I got it. But I read and watched the videos long before it arrived. It really isnt something you should just decide to do on a whim. You should really understand the process and what each individual step does before attempting.

Oh geeze, here we go, everyone here at xda is omnipitant, not everone knows every aspect of this site, if he/she doesnt know how to root why would you expect them to know where/how to search and what to read if they did, some people do deserve a break hes just frustrated.

Hes right,
The main part of being successful with these devices is everything he said, you really shoud read,read,watch whatever it takes to be totally sure about the process. You must be very careful if its your first time, and at the same time, ive learned, you cant let it intimedate you, it will be much harder and that much easier to mess up. If you do all these things and are still not sure or dont feel right about doing it, find somone close to you that can.

Well, for one thing, if by "omnipitant" you mean *omnipotent*, then you probably *really* meant *omniscient*, so I understand what you meant. I think.
What I don't understand, however, is why you think that someone who doesn't know how to root shouldn't be expected to know how to search for information about rooting.

I just think you took the wrong approach at teaching him, there is such a thing as positive reinforcement, hes already frustrated, treating him like hes an idiot will get us all no where, well, most of us. We were all new at some point or another

Think of him as an infant, a new born. He doesnt know any better. I dont think he posted out of frustration, i think it is more of a cry for help.
but besides all that, hopefully we've all learned something today. I know I have.

Scott has always been helpful to me. And I have always seen him helpful to others that have made the effort to learn and couldn't figure something out. There's a reason his thanks meter is at 52.

Sad thing is though if he searched he would have seen everyone else getting flamed for this exact same question and type of post. Then he would have known better and how to ask the question and seek help. And Scott I'm going to make a damn sticky on how to search. This they didn't know how to search and cant get past the clutter thing isn't an excuse.

coming from the droid incredible and hero before it.. the inspire is alittle more difficult to root. but if u say take 30 mins out of your day its not that bad.. just stay focused and read and go slow and you will be on your way..

My jaw hit the floor yesterday when I visited the browser version of the site and saw that 52.
Last time I checked it was like at 16 or something.
Using the XDA app really isolates a person, I guess.

I get what your saying, but I still wouldn't let an infant try to root a phone.

What he is saying is retarded. You did nothing wrong. noobs are expected to read. End of story. If they do not and post anyways, then they should be subject to the redicule that comes with such a blatently assinine posting. Baler is wrong to call anyone out... .. I have the feeling I would find a noobish post by him and the routing there of; If I dug through his postings. Least it would explain his stance. But alas, I care not. Scotts one of the most helpfull nice peeps here.

I wasnt saying he is a bad guy, or hes wrong, it just looked to me like he was jumping on the guy. Now you guys know him alot more than I do, I even think hes helped me with a few things, one or two of those thanks are prolly from me. but if everyone really feels this way, ill prolly stop defending noobs then, unless its worth the time.

It probably looked like I was jumping on the guy because I was. A little. Thin skins don't do well, here, though.
There's nothing wrong with defending someone, when appropriate, I've done it I think, maybe a total of 3 or 4 times, all cases where a user was unfairly blamed for something or was made to feel like they weren't a worthwhile contributor or called a name because they weren't able to answer someone's question to their satisfaction.
All I'm saying is that XDA is less noob-centric than other forums. That's not to say noobs shouldn't come here to learn...I lost my basic noobness here (and I say basic, 'cause I don't know half the **** some people here do) ... Just that there's an expectation to fulfill some prerequisite familiarization with one's device, and to be at least a little proficient in problem-solving on one's own before posting.
