is there a registry fix for increasing/decreasing screen sensitivity? ive been searching for a while and couldnt find it
Yea I remember something like pressure threshold. If your registry editor has a search option search for the keyword threshold and it should return something with touchscreen/pressure/threshold..
Regards,
Carty..
thanks ill try that now =)

Hi, was wonder if anyone could help, Just installed TT5 to my xda which runs windows mobile 5. TT works ok so far, but the only this is.. when TT starts up the light goes off and will only come back on if i exit TT... anyone any ideas. the light normally stays on all the time.
Thanks for you help
John
How did you install it? I can't get mine to work.
Backlight is easy. Search for die ASCII String "Backlight" and change it to something else like "Bbcklight". Or, copy the posted file over your original. Its cracked and Backlight fixed.
Installing: Still using old versions? 5.21 should work with WM5
Search
Thanks, but im that thick, can you tell me where i search for it, which file? and do i do it with this hex edit thing
Cheers John
It's a unicode string, part of a registry path. I don't have offsets in mind, but it should be 4 strings to be replaced. From 'Backlight'(remember: unicode) to something else with same length
It seems like WM5 on Himalaya has a different way of interpreting the settings for backlight and TomTom modifies them in the usual way and after all, we have this "no backlight" situation.
These modification force TomTom to grab right into nothing and all settings(power off, backlight) are steady while running TomTom.
Hi all,
The backlight of my SP5m (WM6 perfect ed.) turns off after 5-7 seconds no matter what values I set. I've tried many different places to modify this value but none of them worked. Which registry settings should I add/modify? Could it be related to the LowLight software that dim the screen? This one also seems to act a little special after "some" reboots?!
Any help would be appreciated before an hard-reset...
Thank you for your time,
highmighty

That's right. This forum is full of information. Did you even do a search before posting a new topic?
Yes, I sure did search through the forums and didn't found that exact thread that you guys now refer to, which is very similar to what I'm experiencing actually. All other posts were not describing my actual problem.
And for your information, that value was set to '1' on my phone and not '3 or 4'. I've set it back to '0', now let's see if that solves it, hopefully yes
Thank you all for your time,

Partial Fix...
On my "upgraded" WM 6.5 Tornado, I found another registry entry I haven't read about, ever. Try modifying this:
HKLM\Software\HTC\KEYPAD KB_LIGHT_TIMEOUT DWORD Value data 30000
30000 is 30 seconds. Now, the only problem here is when I keylock, u guessed it, the backlight on the keypad stays on for the same specified time.
hi guys and best whishes to all !!
anyone know hot to disable the auto screenlock that after 15 seconds of a call block the screen ?
i do not like use the power button for it , i need to disable the stuff , thnx
Look for a program in these forums called Kaiser Tweak. Lets you turn off the sleep function while on a call, plus a host of other options.

Hey guys, hopefully you can help me out with some of my queries on customizing wm6.5.
How can i set the lockscreen to be always lit, instead of dim on wakeup/lock. I cant find any backlight tab in the power settings. Is there anything in the registry for it?
What about the constant vibration on normal+vibration mode, can I have it set to the same ryhtmic vibration for manner mode? I know there's an app called VAlert, but is there any registry tweak for it? Also, can I stop the music/vibration for a text after I tap on the screen? As for now, it'll only stop if i press the End Key.
And one more thing, can I remove the BCC CC From to subject fields etc from Messaging. I seem to recall there's a tool for it but I cant remember what it's called.
Thanks =D

It may be under Start->Settings->Personal tab->Lock, or on my current ROM, Start->Settings->System tab->Power->Backlight, and there's a checkbox.

I think VAlert should use a registry tweak to do it. Not sure though... As to the second part, I don't think that's possible...

Not seen that... Although in 6.X ROMs messaging uses html based form creation, so have a look for email.htm or new_email.htm in \Windows, and see if there's anything discernible in there.
Just found something new that may be of interest for question one...

Thanks for all your replies.
I have checked the link you provided and tried what have been suggested but unfortunately they did not work. My LockLevel key kept going back to 0 after soft reset.
Well I might have to just use VAlert in the end. Will check out the email.htm too.

Right... Very odd. Did it work whilst LockLevel wasn't 0? If so, I can write a quick applet that sets it to whatever at startup.

Well, I am not sure if I needed to restart for it to be take effect or not, but it didnt work when I lock the phone after I edited the registry. Screen was still dimmed. So I am not sure if it was because it didnt work, or the registry change didnt take effect.

As far as I remember, the screen remains dim till you tap it... Does tapping it bring the screen back to normal brightness?
Yes when I tap it, it lights up. But what I am looking for, is for it to not dim in the first place, to have it light up once you turn it on.

SmartTouch Registry Settings
I would try playing around (but not too much) with the SmartTouch Registry Settings, to see if adjusting any of them help. It may be possible to completely remove Messaging from SmartTouch, though I can't find a registry entry that pertains to it, specifically. It could be this one:
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\SmartTouch\Outlook Email]
"WheelCount"=dword:00000002
"Mode"=dword:00000004
"ClassName"="Inbox.MainWnd"
You can try deleting that entire key, soft reset, and see if it still adjusts the Text size.
You may also want to try reducing the sensitivity of the SmartTouch. These registry entries *may* have something to do with that (though I'm just guessing here):
Code:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\SmartTouch]
"FirstThreshold"=dword:00000008
"Threshold"=dword:00000008
Report back if any of those keys had an effect.
thank you, i'll carefully try...
still resizes. all it did is that i cant use touch pad to scroll up/down in the inbox

Did you try reducing the threshhold values also?
what value would make it less sensitive? . it is quite sensitive.
what value....
Not responsible
U can try this, but im not responsible if you have to hard reset your phone.
Using advanced config:
Menu>More Settings>SmartTouch
Delete Outlook Email
OK>Done>Yes to reset.
Let me know if that works for you.

You caught me. That's where I got the idea to see if it was listed by advanced config. wasnt sure how comfortable he was with registry editing.
