Look for a program in these forums called Kaiser Tweak. Lets you turn off the sleep function while on a call, plus a host of other options.

HKCU\ControlPanel\Sounds\
Now go to :
Dialing\Script
Erase the "p"
You can also do the same for hangup, etc. The mid file is called "dpadctl.mid"
Of course, as with any registry change, soft reset using a 3rd party app (just to be sure)
works perfectly, thanks a lot man

Hello Patmannyc:
After reading your answer I can see you know a little bit about registry tweaks on Palm 750.....
Do you have any web page where I can have specific treo 750 tweaks since pages I have founded are for standard Wm5 devices and most of the tweaks do not work properly
Thanks in advane
Lemmon
Depends what you want to do.
Most Wm5 registry hacks also DO work with the treos. For any treo-specific tweaks you can look @ www.ppcgeeks.com, there are plnty there.
Hello,
My phone turns of the display after 10 sec.
It reacts on a keypress but it is very anoying.
Are there more people with this problem?
I think it comes from a program called Automatic Keylock but it won't go away when i Uninstal this program.
I think it must be in the register somewhere but it's not in the controlpanel/power.
Any suggestions?
MAybe a dll?

you dont need to edit registry!!!!
it is in start->settings->power management
you can control how long it takes for the backlight to go off and the display to switch off seperately for on battery and on ac

If you have started to use CorePlayer/TCPMP and/or TomTom, then you NEED to edit the registry, as the value in the "delay before backlight will turn off" is modified to a billion number instead of 60 seconds.
Off course it's in the settings , power management....
But that wasn't aage's problem!!!
I use tomtom but I have created a script using mortscript that runs tomtom then deletes that pesky reg key. That way the power management still works

Not true for me. I use TT6.0.0 and CP and I don't have to make any reg change whatsoever.
How did you get tt6 loaded and running. and are you having the reported problems not being able to navigate the menus/selection lists with the dpad.
The problem kevin reports is with ttn5 mobile (which sadly is the only wm smartphone version that tomtom support - "support" that is a strange word when used in the same sentence as tomtom!!!)

Yeah I was referring to this one, since you're not supposed to use TT6 (intented to be used with PPC) , but here everyone use custom app/rom
BTW, I never used TT, just CorePlayer, and though it worked fine for some days, one day it refused to turn off backlight, so I created this registry dword and voilĂ !
Question
never mind
My device now locks itself after a very short time and I have to 'Unlock' it. I cannot figure out where to uncheck this and its driving me crazy. Can someone assist?
Use a regedit program and go to the following value
Automatically lock your Diamond --> HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\BackLight\AutoDevic eLockEnable change it to 0 and do a soft reset.
Auto lock function ?

Not sure I'm understanding your problem. Did you go into Settings -> System -> Key Lock and configure it to lock the buttons when the screen is off?

Same problem for me despite it does twice to HTC support.
Hey there,
Has anyone seen a cab for WM6.5 to add the "Auto Lock" on sleep?
I've seen this in WDM's 6.5 Vogue ROM but not in any others...
Thanks in advance
GG
the only way i found that it works is when you add a password lock, it will automatically lock after each sleep then
HKCU\ControlPanel\BackLight\AutoDeviceLockEnable-----------> set to 1.

Hey there,
I've seen that before in another thread so I tried it out but it didn't seem to work. Should that be a Decimal Value or Binary?
GG
the key is preexisting and you only need to change the value. it is a decimal value.

A quick conversion table for the numbers 0 and 1:
Code:
decimal hexadecimal binary
0 0 0

Anyways... The value wasn't pre existing... I'm going to try this other solution... entering the value on its own (under whatever base numbering system used) didn't produce results...

very work, samething more easy
Anything new here? I've still not found anything that will do this...
Dear jlavoie registry change helped me no need to install third party app. Just great.
I'm using NFSFAN's 6.5V4 ROM and that key isn't in my registry... i wonder why.
I've also tried DeviceLock which kinda works, but the probably being if you don't wait for a while when unlocking the phone, you end up having to unlock twice.
I'd imagine this is the downfall of locking on wakeup and not on sleep...
I wonder if A_C would know how to do this...

Since some of us don't seem to have that registry key, and adding one doesnt seem to work, can you cab up that registry setting for us? or export it so we can import it?
Thanks

When you run this do you have a 3-4 second delay between when you turn your phone on when the lock screen pops up?
I am, running NFSFAN 6.5 v6r2 rom on a sprint touch, and am getting that delay when using this program or any other program I can find. It seems the best way would be to lock the device when you turn it off, or whenever the backlight turns off, but I can't figure out how to do that.
Any ideas?
I was using devicelock for a little bit also, it wouldnt delay but it would make me unlock it twice... which was anoying.
I haven't found the lock on sleep setting on adv. conf 3.3 yet... I'll keep looking.

Is it possible to activate your lock screen by clicking on the sleep button? (Just like S2U2) At this moment I've got it the original way by holding the end call button. I hope there is a simple way to do that, maybe a cab. file?
I'm using a stock win 6.5 ROM.
Here, this should work. its better to install in main memory. once installed, it will appear in your start menu, which u can then configure to suit your needs.
Hope it helps, let me know!

I've got it running. Please tell me how to configure it to my needs. I want everything stock except that I want to auto lock my phone when I hit the sleep button or when it goes automatic to sleep.
Search for HKCU/ControlPanel/Backlight/ set Autodevicelockenabled to 1.
It's one of the first options, lock on standby. The problem with the reg edit is that it locks on backlight dim and uses the winmo call lock.
tried this but when i am using the camera or video, or playing a video it locks.
how can i avoid this.
There is a field that says 'DO Not Lock if runing' what do i write in this field?
Thanks

For that you need a registry editor like total commandar or resco registry, also, SK tools comes with a registry editor.
I use Lock Device....Works very nice

Try this
I'm using something called AutoLock Screen v 1.7E. It just works, no reg tweakes or anything like that. It lockes the device when it goes to sleep, when you press the power button to turn off the screen, it even does in call lock... but I admit it would be nice if it actualy turned off the screen when in call rather then just locking it...
I recomed you use this version because the newest ones have the tendancy to double lock your device...
