Thanks.

I second that. I've been looking everywhere. But I can't find anything that intuitive. Has anyone found any program like that?
The only thing is the Picsel Browser. But the problem with that is you can't view all the files in a folder and go to the next picture easily. But you can zoom in and move around like iPhone.
Please anyone knows one let us know.
i heard resco is the only program close enough
It is an other option I guess
and freeware
http://www.pocketpcfreeware.com/fr/index.php?soft=368
and this one too
http://www.pocketpcfreeware.com/fr/index.php?soft=877
i dont know of any picture viewer that scales and zooms like the iphone with two fingers, but i use xnview, its free, opens other picture files resco cant, etc etc.
I've been looking through this forum and google, but still haven't found anything alike...
Is there anyone that's been able to develope something like it?
Thanks!
google something call iZoom , its not available yet, but would be a nice substitute
Doesn't HTC Album work a bit like the iPhone thing? I've never tried it because it won't run on my 9502, but apparently it works on a lot of devices and its freeware. You push the image to the side for the next image, and draw a circle around a bit to zoom in and stuff. Looks really cool. Wish it ran on my device

try VITO EyePhoto.
I like it very much and it's intention is clearly to bring iPhone usage principles to WM.
yes htc album is simple and efficient. easy to use.
but you should search better and sometimes look in the dev & hack section of xda and you could find this :

Basically I wasn't overly impressed when I saw the iphone in terms of what it did, because it doesn't do anything my WM5 doesn't. the only thing I was impressed at was the interface, the total touch screen etc(altho it is missing a qwerty key board which I couldn't live with out). One part of the touch screen interface that I was the most impressed with was the finger dragging, scrolling! But this can be done on WM5 devices because I've already downloaded Sygic's .mobile which allows you to do it through your contacts.
So Basically I'm sure that one of the many clever programmers on here could write a little program that allows you to use finger scrolling where ever a scroll bar is needed? I.e. file emplorer, music menu(windows media player), text message list, photos, etc.
Or if someone knows where I could get such a program from?
Thanks
this would be sweet because we windows fans wouldn't have to convert to the darkside.
just like the early dayds of apple.....microsoft swoops in and reinvents the game. but only thing it aint microsoft doing this.
why buy a new phone when u can take the guts of it and dump it into your own
good job on the programers you guys rock.
Check this video out, the guy has done just that!
http://techdigest.tv/2007/02/watch_the_iphon.html
I've seen that video already, but thanks. it was that and the program .mobile that made me hope that someone on here would be able to do it for the rest of the windows mobile platform! if I was talented enough I'd do it myself but this is way beyond me. i just think it would be a great to be able to navigate menus and list and make life a lot easier.
Can we download it from somewhere?
Download What?
that GUI seen on that video.
the best program to make it look like that is wisbar desktop but it costs! has for the menu scrolling i haven't got a clue thats why i was hoping someone may be able to write a program on here for it

Agree, i used the wisbar advance, but the scrolling gui was amazing!
I am wondering how he did it?
it was, but i don't know how he did it! i know you can down load a program called .mobile and that allows you to scroll through your contact like that, so it clearly can be done! so someone must be able to do it for the rest of the phone?!??!
What is it that can or can't be done guys?
Picsel Browser uses momentum based full screen drag scrolling, amongst other apps. It's not a difficult thing to do. The implementation in the video is particularly nice (if not particularly useful IMHO), but it's not some kind of mystical voodoo. It's just programming.

vijay,
I don't think you would be capable of doing this, no way....
(ps: please, please rise to the challenge!)
On a serious note the Universal lacks a scroll wheel which I have always had on my previous PDAs. To be able to have a generic touchscreen based scrolling mechanism would be very useful (ie not just for tracks and contacts, but for everything).
Can anyone post a link to the download of this?
slider lock feature.....
Guys,
According to his website, before it was suspended...
He says he was using
PPL1.20. PPL which can be downloaded for free from http://arianesoft.ca
I downoaded this but have no idea on how to use it to get the same results?
Anyone interested in getting the slider lock portion of that video working?

As explained by Vijay this is just programming. If you dont have programming skills, just forget it. If you do then the technical part is not that difficult. The whole point is more about doinga nice design
Anyway let's hope he will make is work public (The scrolling bar is one thing, but the whole setup is actually nice...)
If anyone has this (doubt the guy gave it out before he got shut down) but in case he did... i would like to get my hands on this...
the point of me starting this thread was to see if anyone on here knew where I could get a program that would allow me to scroll all the menus and lists in my WM5 by dragging my finger across the screen, if there wasn't already a program out there then I wondered if someone could write a program for it? as my skills in this area are nowhere near good enough! I think a program like this with look great but more importantly be really useful, as I use my finger to navigate through most of my phone.
if this is just programing, please can someone with the skills do it????
Thanks
the m600-iphone clon demovideo is no longer available at youtube....
the apple tentacles are very lengths...
INTERESTINGLY.. this guy is a Malaysian (Chinese). . and I would have thought such geeky move ought to be from the States.
well i have a spare wizard to try this on if some one can direct me on what software to use. i have some spare time lol

I was browsing Youtube for things having to do with Windows Mobile, when I came across that comparison video between the Iphone and Windows Mobile. One of the topics was "widgets", and for the Iphone half, the Iphone "home" screen was shown, while for the WM section, a nice, slick looking application used to view photos from Flickr and search Wikipedia was shown, at 2:19 in the video. Any one have an idea/link to that application? Sure would be nice to play with on my phone
yeah i know... having the same problem.... the other thing i saw was a cool web browser which allowed u to drag the page around.... anyone know what its called.....

ya the widgets are kool....opera web browser lets u drag the page around...check the new opera browser for ppc
The application is called Widsets, it runs on Java.
https://www.widsets.com/index
Free and works with midlet manager on Wizard.
This widset is very interesting.. I wonder why is it in such a low profile in the xda-dev world.
thanks for the link, i'm gonna play around with WidSets and see how it goes. by the way,
@sean.t.oleary
you may have been talking about the Picsel Browser that was taken from a Samsung phone and now works on other WM Phones. Do a Search for it, it's here at xda-dev.
@hanmin
i agree, i thought i would find this fairly easily on these forums, but i didn't find a thing
Tried installing widsets - it forced me to install the jad for the iPaq hx4600 which doesnt seem to work right on my ppc (i730). Anyone have a different jad I can try?
SubliMobi RSS Reader
Have you tried SubliMobi RSS Reader (http://www.sublimobi.com) ? It
works on my mobile and it's free.
Widsets on Orbit
Has anyone tried Widsets on XDA Orbit yet? Mine just shows a blank screen.
They show that there is around 50% success with Orbit https://www.widsets.com/devices
just tested on my herald and it is running quite smoothly.
take a look at this picture of the new XDA Comet running WM6. I want to know what browser its showing on the device.
http://www.theunwired.net/?item=confirmed-o2-germany-to-release-the-o2-xda-comet-early-october
my apologies for posting this in the wrong forum...i realized after posting that there's probably better places to post a question regarding software that is being run on a device that is not a wizard.
mods, feel free to move this thread to wherever you think it best fits.
look like picsel , but as far as i know , picsel is only for samsung ... i don't know then ( maybe a new version of deepfish )
Given the image fits to the curve of the screen housing, I guess it's just a photoshop job. If it was an LCD image it would have 90 degree corners and would not be 100% to the edge of the housing.
Picsel also doesn't (natively) go fullscreen, so it's probably Photoshopped. There are a number of good browsers that will go fullscreen though...

You've said too much Vijay, how can Picsel go fullscreen? (and also is it possible to browse the web without being online? I mean the history pages, just like in PIE)
Thanks

The latest version of picsel, hacked to install on any WM device, is NATIVELY full screen. You have to tap and hold for everything. Picsel is not a great browser, it's main purpose is as a file viewer. It's not great at THAT, either.

Agreed. See my related review at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1213451&postcount=20 for a review of a, as far as native full screen support is concerned, earlier version.

As has been explained in the Web Browsing Bible ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1213451&postcount=20 ), the Picsel browser doesn't do ANY caching. Therefore, no history pages either.
Who knows of a good AutoCAD DWG app for PocketPC? Yesterday I installed on an HTC HD2 the following program: pocket_pc_cad_viewer (http://www.cadsofttools.com/en/products/pocket_pc_cad_viewer.html)
It works fine, but the buttons on the screen are VERY small, and with finger control it's not easy.
Furthermore I found this oneowercad CE (http://www.graebert.com/index.php?option=com_cad&Itemid=52&id=Mobile&lang=en)
But it's very expensive.
Does anyone know a good alternative? Or a possibility to enlarge the buttons of the first app? That would also be welcome.
Thanks!
Moved as not software release.
ok, thanks. Sorry for my mistake.
I've also been looking for something like this, but I couldn't find other free alternatives.
did you tried the free "DWF Anywhere" from Gräbert?
Autodesk do not offer any mobile solution.
no, haven't tried that one. Does it also view DWG, and or Solidworks drawings?
the HD2 lacks a built-in image editor, anyone know a good one I can install on the device? simple functions as contrast, light, gamma, saturation and such are only needed. not looking for a app to draw with..
Resco Photo manager does a good job
When I bought a Touch Pro2 one of the reasons was that you can't really sketch on a capacitive screen, so I couldn't get an HD2. Believe it or not but I often draw on my Rhodium and send my logo concepts etc to clients simply because its the fastest available way if I have no access to a computer and scanner.
I use PocketArtist 'cause it has its similarities to Photoshop (layer support etc), so that's what I would recommend but I think that for simple photo editing you can also use Photoshop Mobile that you launch from the internet browser. Haven't tried it though.

Photoshop mobile looks good, found no web-interface editor, only the app [at] photoshop.com.. though it's only for android and iPhone/iPad, guess I have to wait for a good Android-build for the HD2.
Will check out pocketartist!
