Hi all,
i cid unlocked my tornado a few months ago and upgraded last week to wm6.
There are a few versions now and i was trying to upgrade my tornado and i start the procedure and it hangs when it tries to enter bootloader. only appears a white screen.
If i take out the baterry everithing is ok, and boots normaly...
can anyone help me?

Run an official ROM update and it will reflash a bootloader...

hi, thank's for the answer.
I found out that my mini-card became corrupted, and the bootloader always hanged trying to read the card, even running upgrades with the phone on it freezed giving a error on the desktop, and closing the application...
now it's solved, and i upgraded to one of the chinese roms...
I'm waitting for your beta version...

i am using imate jamin da problem with my cell is
i upgraded my rom to qtek 2.20000 it was working absolutely fine with 8 icons in my comm manager then i upgraded to RUU-Prophet-G4-AKU2.2-2.20-2.47.21-Jester-b1 and it has severely damaged my cell as my phone my phone hangs white booting it shows me the colour screen with
IPL 1.00 and SPL 2.20.0001
on the Screen
OS and GSM is not displayed
I tried rom update several times but its not working
i even tried to format my phone but it gives FAT16 format failed
I even tried to upgrade to jesters RUU-Prophet-G4-AKU2.2-2.20-2.47.21-Jester-r1 but still its not working and givng same problem
now i dont understand what to do
i just brought this phone from dubai last month its under warranty will imate people sort this problem ????
guys please give me Advice and solution for this IPL SPL Problem

Hello, I feel sorry for your bricked Prophet but here some informations. First of all, there is no need to write in big red letters. This usually annoy people or make them feel offended. You are not more important than others - who have their own problems as well. Writing normally would usually give better chances for a reply.
Here some feedback for your problem :
a) As long as you can get back into the boot loader as long everything is recoverable (hold camera button and reset and keep the camera button pressed until you get into the boot loader with the different colors). As long as this is still there as long you can recover.
b) Get an official ROM from your service provider for your Prophet and flash it back.
c) Only problem you might have is the updated boot loader (2.20).

You did not try to flash your G3 phone with a G4 rom now did you? (or G4 with G3 rom..)
As Spatzm said: Try to get into bootloader. If that works try updating again with the official qtek 2.20 rom. (here). And READ that topic about how to install and get yourself the ROMUpdateUtility_NoID.exe from the ftp (see wiki).
Since you tried to update with the 2.20 rom (which is the base of Jesters rom) you cannot downgrade, that's why you need to use the 2.20 official qtek rom (which is suitable for both G3 and G4). You can only downgrade if you have a CID unlocked G3 (if you don't know if it's CID unlocked then it's not ) with a G4 device you cannot downgrade to put it down shortly.
hey,i wanted to upgrade to wm6 so i tried to unlock the phone with sda unlock application,but it keeps telling me the phone is not unlockable.
and other thing, i tried to update to the newest rom,mine is old(the one that came with the phone)and when the update utility start it crashed on 0% and an error report appeared on the screen,and the phone will stay in bootloader till i reboot,i tried the unlocking and the update more than 10 times,does anyone know what to do ?

your device is not application-unlocked. run htcunlock-cvs first then sda application unlock.

Hi,
Ive a question about updating the software of my HTC S710. The device is unlocked and the simlock is also removed. But i wanted to update the software. Ive downloaden the update from 1/24/2008. The filename of the update is: RUU_Vox_HTC_WWE_1.34.405.1_4.1.13.54_03.10.90_Ship.exe. I had checked it and this is a newer version then mine now.
But i am affraid that if i update my S710 that the device is locked again. Can i update it without getting in trouble with a locked device? So that i can still use my sim-card. You guys have any experience with this?

I doubt flashing the new rom will lock your phone up.
but, even if it does why can't you just unlock it again?

Well ive updated my device and like you all sayd nothing happend. The rom 1.34**** is installed and its still unlocked =)

and after running that... My system is dead slow and also unable to install few program like Schap's Advance Configurator etc and other issues like
System Reboot time increases....
GPS taking too much time for a Fix
Menu Pop down slowly...
Stucks quite often
.... And after every hour or so the Message popup like that " Please Inform Microsoft about this issue ...... "
Since i am not a computer Geek... Please advice some simple solution ...
Though i also download the official RUU from HTC which released on 21-2-08 but when i run that it tells me that " THIS UPDATE IS NOT FOR YOUR DEVICE " after the SPL screen...
So, is there anyway that i revert back to original System dated 28-8-07

not sure what you mean by dead slow. First off, the warning that you get that the rom isn't for your device tells me you are not CID unlock. You can always CID unlock your phone and then put it back to the original SPL if you want to keep things back to normal.

Well it takes time to respond to the command... e.g. if i click on the START then it took quite a time for a menu to pop down....... as far as CID unlock... i am not sure....
But i purchased my tytn II from UK as a sim free unit @ 455 pounds... and before that WM 6.1 upgrade, i never played with the ROM or firmware... no SPL nothing anysort run on my unit.... I just run the RUU directly from PC and follow the on screen instructions....

am going to upgrade my XDA-Exec (Universal) G4 for the first time. its currently running WM5 from O2 but i am going to use it with another Service Provider.
now want to make sure of couple of things.
first... is there any HardSPL type of programe for Universal so that atleast i dont endup bricking the phone ?
second what exactly does the CID/EROM locks are for or SIM lock. I can use my other companies SIM in this phone so do i still need to do it ?
third how safe is the ROM updating without anything like HardSPL....?
reason why iam asking this is because its my friends phone and dont wanna brick it and second i have upgraded my HERM but have not done a Universal WM5 to 6 or 6.1 upgrade

No Their Is No HardSPL For Universal.
IMHO CID Unlocking Should Be Done As Various Bootloader Commands For Recovering The Device Will Only Work On A CID Unlocked Device. (I Think!)
Rom Upgrading Is Relatively Safe. Jus Make Sure The Battery Is Fully Charged.
Read The WIKI For More Information.

i got the ROM updated last night and was using when i finally thought of using another ROM... while upgrading the other rom it just gave and error message on the PC and the phone was on the page where it ask you to press 0 for default ... so i did that and the phone restarted but now its stuck on the Splash Screen (the O2 operator starting screen) ...
if i connect the phone to the PC it will not recognize the phone as its totally stuck on the Splash screen ... if i try to goto the bootloader screen it gives me the same message of either Pressing X or 0 ... also the USB is not recognizing it ..
what to do .????
