Hello, I am using O2 XDA Stealth, and try to find around but I can't find a solution of this. When in sms mode, I want to use it's build in keypad for text input which is Nokia like, but it doesn't let me input letters but only numbers. Any solution please? (Not T9 on-screen keypad, but physical phone's keypad) Thank you guys.

hi
press and hold the * key to switch to Multi-Tap. Then you can do it like nokia.
Change your input type to eZitext, rather than keyboard.
is any other program better than the ezitext?
this information is very helpful..thanks

Hi,
Is there any app I can use on my xda2i that will allow me to enter SMS messages on the phone application keypad (or another similar screen keypad) - just like a regular GSM phone. I sometimes find it a right pain takin out the stylus to reply to an sms message.
I would like it if SMS could be send directly from the "phone" app keypad or another similarly styled keypad... you know press number 2 twice for 'B' etc.
Even the SPB fullscreen keyboard is a pain in this situation - just need the numbers and an enter button to enter the text into the messaging app so that you can select recipients or just press send if replying.
A version of spb that worked in portrait with just the number keys would be perfect
Any suggestions ?
Many thanks in advance.
malty.
well, ignore me i'm an idiot..
ive just found the phone pad option on the keyboard prefs and it does EXACTLY what i want
sorry for the waste of a thread !
cheers,
Kev

Hi all,
I have a query that I think affects all Windows Mobile 5 devices but that I am experiencing on the HTC Hermes.
Is it possible to accept an auto completion suggestion using the slide out keyboard?
This is particularly annoying in Word where I can type away on the keyboard at a fair speed but seem to have to reach for the stylus to accept auto completion suggestions!
Is there a key or combination of keys that will accept these suggestions?
Any help gratefully accepted
Andy Robins
Sorry to answer my own question but I have just found out from Werner on Microsoft.public.pocketpc that this is a simple matter of pressing the down arrow to select the suggestion and then tapping enter to accept it.
Problem solved
Does anyone know of a tweak, hack or app that would do the following:
I want to be able to switch more easily between Phone keypad entry with XT9 enabled and QWERTY in ABC mode.
What I mean is that when you come across a word not in the dictionary it’s pretty fiddly to change to ABC and then use your fingernail to call up the change input method screen to QWERTY. I’d like to be able to hit the XT9/ABC toggle and have it automatically switch from Phone keypad to QWERTY at the same time. Another good use would be if you’re merrily typing away in XT9 phone keypad mode and hit the ‘+’ to add a new word to the dictionary – it would be cool if it changed momentarily to QWERTY to allow you to enter the word and then shifted back into XT9/Phone Keypad automatically when finished.
I know it sounds lazy, but I really think this would make the text input much more ergonomic.
Any ideas?
no-one? Seriously?
I wonder is this in the wrong forum??
*bumpety bump*
google nusipstylus.
that will do the trick.
When you pull out the stylus you can enter on a full keyboard and when you put the stylus back in you get the htc keyboard.
here it is...
Hi
Thanks a million for the response.
However, I've found that app made my device agonisingly slow.
In any case, I think this is somewhat of a retrograde step. I was actually after someone to mod the HTC keyboards to just allow a quick toggle between XT9 and ABC that would default back after you hit the space key.
I really appreciate you taking the time to send me the .cab, but I'm afraid it's not quite what I was looking for.
Hello,
hope somebody can help me out. the keypad of my touch diamond 2 is acting very strange. i have selected the "telephone" keypad with T9 to type messages etc. but the keypad will only display numbers when i hit the keys. when i do a hard reset, the keypad is ok again for a while (a day). i have diamond tweak 0.5.3. from montecrisof installed. hope anyone can help me out because i can't find anything about this bug on the net.
thanks in advance, mirko
I did search about it and I found no results, so here I am begging for your help.
I am running a GTX ROM and it is perfect, except that the chef that cooked in the ROM the keypad where you enter your PIN number having almost black numeric keys and with black numbers, so you have to guess which button is what number, because you are not able to read the numbers at all.
I wonder if any of you have a cab of the original PIN keypad, or if somebody will kind enough to teach me how I can edit the skin of that keypad.
Thanks,
Sorin
