Hi,
I can't get windows update to work, it just says it can't connect to the server. I do have connection to the internet so something else must be failing.
Does it work on you phones?

Have you use a Cooked Rom? If yes -> no space in the OS Partition.

if you have the HTC S710, it's been disabled. they haven't decided if they will enable it yet.

Seems stupid to have a service availably but not disabled and not inform about it.. Oh well hopefully they will fix it so we can get "up to date" software..

I had the same problem! But after a official ROM update (http://www.htc.com) earlier this year it was working. But don't bother to update your WM 6.0 because i used the windows update this week and there were no updates. Probably because it is an modified version of WM 6.0

Can anyone please help me I have tried to upgarde My Loox N560 to
WM6 but It just switches of the connection. I've done a factory reset
but still no luck. I have not put a password on this device.

I think that the answer is pretty obvious..........first of all " you bought a loox 560. Pretty cool in 2006 but............
Secondly , I don't think a WM 6 upgrade was ever released for that phone. Any WM 6.0 upgrades you find here will not work because upgrades are very device specific.
Lastly, that phone is not supported on this site, so any help will be minimal and generic or not forthcoming at all.

Is Spark the codename for Trophy? Haven't heard of HTC Spark...
It is very simple, disconnect your phone from the USB cable. Turn him off. Press VOL down holding him and press start holding it. Then you will see this color mode with SPL version, connect USB to the phone, new driver for sync will be installed, after that start the firmware update..
But i still get a error message: Wrong Vendor ID, so we need to wait for some HSPL or SPL.

Have you installed the zune software? You need it for the drivers.
Yes I have. Do I need to start up Zune?
Edit: To be more specific: I get the "connection error". They tell me to check my usb-cable. I don't understand what's wrong. When I return to normal mode and connect my phone to Zune, it is recognised....

thank you for this page. This website has given me the only info I can find with this phone.
I want to update my firmware as I can only have one apn active, some options are not there that I am sure should be.
To get the driver to work, you need to install ActiveSync. Zune did not install the driver needed for the firmware update.
I followed the process through. Got to the stage of it being updated, then recieved an error "This NBF file cannot be used for your PDA phone. Please get a newer NBF file"
I have a htc spark and im sure its an old version, I have been using it for dev and testing..
any ideas or possibly a different firmware image to try?

No not all. It doesn't work on mine (got the wrong vendor ID). Waiting for another.
You cannot un-brand your Phone with this rom. If you have a Vodafone Trophy it will not update.

i got wrong vendor ID as well, i am the vodafone one, but flashing the vodafone rom with no problem...
How did you do it? I and everyone I spoke gets the wrong vendor id with the Vodafone branded Trophy rom.

How did U do it because when "Wrong vendor id" appears flashing stops and phone reboot automatically

I am just not sure about updating my HTC Trophy 7 Vodafone with this ROM. Is there any knowledge on how Microsoft will apply updates to Windows Phone 7?
So far, I have read on several places on the web that, in case of a provider modified phone as mine, the provider has to confirm the Microsoft updates for their custom (provider) ROM. I wonder if it is the ROM contacting the Microsoft searching for updates (with or without IMEI information, Vendor ID etc.) or if Microsoft just pushes the updates toward the active Windows Live accounts.
Couldn't there be a chance that if we, somehow, apply an "unofficial" update for a device (like the EU ROM for a Vodafone device) that we will not be able to receive further updates anymore?
Sorry for posting this here, it is just that I think this could be possible and I couldn't find any documentation on this on the web.

With my Nexus One, was only a matter of time at first. After that period of time of nobody knowing anything, well, you know the rest, everybody have their devices rooted and with cooked and stock unbranded roms, and all work very fine.
I suppose that with WP7 is only a matter of time too, so no worry about it. Enjoy your beautiful new phone, and when an update comes officially from MS, then we will see.
P.S. I'm looking forward to the arrival of my Trophy, probably on monday or tuesday. I believe that I could have it today but...

im looking for update utility, the actual program that installs the rom. i found my wizared in a shoe box after many year and figured i should flash a new rom and use it again. all the roms i find do not contain the update program. my wizard is a g3.

Hello, this is what you are looking for, ww.windowsceportal.hu/download/apps/htc_wizupgradeut.zip extract it and in the same folder put your rom file.

Are you sure you are on the right device page, Each device has it's own compatible upgrade utility, so if you dont have a wizard it will not work.
Another version of Utility worked....
but after flashing it do some installation and then restart...and after restart it strt again showing the Windows Mobile 5.9

Hi, every body! I'm using cingular 8125 current OS WM 6.1 (Touch Flo V. 1.0). I want to update to OS WM 6.5. But error with code 266 or 260. I check all about connection. the status is USB active sync connected. Itried to update without SD or SIM card too but still error with code 266 or 260. How can I do? Can you tell me the link that OS WM 6.5 supported with cingular 8125?
As many of you probably know there is an issue with the DFT HSPL and the Mango update resulting in the device no being able to be detected in bootloader mode (one line on the tri-colour screen). Is there a fix available alredy or not yet? Because I can't flash the official mango update for my Vodafone Trophy because of the abovesaid reason. Any suggestions or help would be really appreciated.

probably the easiest method will bee having a ffu file to use with the updatewp or in alternative the cab.pks file with the spl
these are the files signed by ms to be deployed using updatewp
... ultimately we shall wait for the next official update that will be deployed from Zune

I've received the HTC update for Windows Phone through Zune yesterday, update that contains SPL and radio, phone rebooted twice immediately after the update and still no good bootloader, so no luck with that.
thats all bad news.. for now we are stucked with this problem

The only way I see after all this attempts is directly flashing mermoy with JTAG
only way to fix this is by " http://gsm-technix.de/shop/produkte/19/1/10/htc/ "
I used this after testing custom spl/radios and ofcause **** can happen
20 euro + 6.90 euro and your phone is fixed for German people
(it worked for me and got my phone back in only 2 day's )

Correction:
Never use Custom ROMs without reading the forum or read the chef instructions first. If people are too lasy to read dont mess with your phones.

And if you want to test/dump/build/cook be prepared to get a bricked phone

I had use DFT mango coustem Room till the mango update comes in market from microsoft
use same DFT program 1- DFT_RSPL_WP7FG1_LAUNCH / 2- DFT_HSPL_WP7FG1_INSTALL """but select the 1 option""" then install orgenal shipped ROM (old V. WP 7) to get back the orginal HSPL
then it be easy to update to WP 7.5 by Zune
(my HD7 worke fine and normal update by Zune)

If you are going to using stock or shipped ROM you will not needs Gold card "only if your phone is louked then you needs gold card)

did you successfully updated it? Im having problem with my zune, coz it says, "cannot check updates at this time". they might be preparing an update. but... still not sure if i will still keep my phone. Maybe i will sell it later.
Use the cab sender method. It worked great for me.
So I used the disconnect internet trick and got Tango to install on my phone. Problem is, it stopped with the 3 updates and did not install (or find) the Samsung one that I know was supposed to be installed (for firmware), so my firmware is now 2103.11.10.1 instead of what it is supposed to be.
Does anyone know a way to force the OEM firmware to be sent to Zune. The internet disconnect trick isn't work now, so I'm stuck. Also, my backups aren't showing up, even though during the update process it said it was creating a backup (for all the OS updates it installed all the way up to 8773).
If there is no way to get the OEM firmware to be pushed, does anyone know how to get the Focus Flash to stock? I know I have a backup on my computer, but Zune isn't recognizing it (I had forced 8107 on my phone, and Zune made a backup of that ROM).

Just reset your phone, format it and then go on with setting up your windows live id. Once fully synchronised, then switch over to zune and go to settings and press forget this phone, after which just connect your phone and you'll get all the updates steady!

Just Get the TANGO Update....... (Samsung omnia w{DEV UNLC})
There is no reason to update Omnia W, ver 8107 already have all the things, at least unbranded versions.
Next step for Omnia W is 7.8
