10 button comm manager - 8125, K-JAM, P4300, MDA Vario ROM Development

I was asked to start this thread to separate this issue so here goes...
Apparently there is a new comm manager (10 buttons, go figure) that was ported from the trinity to the hermes that when installed on a wizard fixes the wifi connection issues that seem to be occuring. Here is a link to the thread in the hermes forum
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=301580
there is also a reg key that needs to be updated to get the comm manager to work. Apparently this info is in the 756 page Xplore thread. Mfrazz is tracking down that reg key now.
There is also another reg change that needs to be done that has been "cabbed" in this thread but the change is not persistent until you install the 10 button comm manager
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=301960

You can add the FlightMode to the green comm manager.

Its only like 101 pages , but yeah, here's the info that was from Zoki to get this to work on the Wizard:
zoki said:
These cabs are for hermes originally. I've deleted the whole KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager\WLAN key in NBD v4. This should help.

So just remove that WLAN key and wait 30 secs or so then do a soft reset and WiFi will work (or it does for me and others that have done this).

Help
I can't get the commManager installed on My Wizard...It keeps telling me unsuccessful. Anyone has same problems??? I think it has something to do with the Xplore WM6 rom I am using. I have had same problem with other software like Photo Contacts Pro. It keeps saying something about certificate invalid or files missing???

Soft resetting your device will also work, atleast that did the trick for me.

I have installed the comm manager on my device with no problems in the installation. but the wireless doesn't work anymore. Is there a solution for this problem?
My device is HTC Wizard, my current ROM is FARIA WM6.0

activate Direct Push after soft reset and messaging question

I've search high and low but can't seem to find a way to automagically turn on direct push after a soft reset. Anyone know a trick or am I missing something incredibly simple?
Second question... has anyone else had problems with Direct Push until they sync by hand once? I turn on Direct Push but it doesn't seem to actually sync until I go to ActiveSync and hit "sync" once by hand. After that it seems to work fine.
Third question (thanks for paying attention this long )... is there anyway to force notifications of new messages even when messaging app is in the foreground? Specifically, if I leave messaging in the foreground before the device goes into standby than I don't seem to get notifications.
Not sure if this makes a difference but running a Wizard w/ the Mr. Clean ROM (2.24.10.1).
On my Wizard I was using the T-Mobile 2.21 ROM, and on my Universal I am using the latest i-mate ROM, and both work perfectly. I don't have the issue you seem to have, so I guess either your push mail provider, or your ROM is the issue.

Thanks for the info! I updated to AKU2.3 ROM 2.26. The second problem (need to sync by hand once) has gone away. Unfortunately Direct Push still isn't starting. I've been trying to track down the problem and it appears to be related to actually having Comm Manager running. As soon as I run Comm Manager it now connects automagically. But if I terminate the process (running WA2) the connection gets closed. So I add an exception to the WA2 task manager to prevent it from closing Comm Manager and it works (but Comm Manager is always runngin). Seems like an inelegant work around but maybe this is how MS intended it, start Comm Manager and Direct Push, our close button minimizes, and everything is honkey doory. Same thing on soft reset, Direct Push doesn't work until I run Comm manager by hand or unless I put Comm Manager in the StartUp folder.
The third problem is still there as well... no notifications on new mail if "messaging" is in the foreground.
1 down 2 to go
Issues 2 and 3 don't occur for me either though, so this is definately not an MS issue, if one of them was fixed by a ROM update, it looks as though the others are your ROM also.
Try one of the i-mate roms, or the latest ROM for your mobile SP (if they have one).
I don't have to start the comm manager to get push mail, it just connects itself, even after a soft reset.

trinity programs

I found this posting over on the Hermes forum and was wondering if these programs might work on the wizard, specifically the comm manager (which has been suggested as part of a fix for a wifi connectivity issue) blue tooth explorer, and the Sim manager.

Thanks for being the guinea pig!!!
The comm manager though requires a registry tweak. According to Zoki (and what myself and others have done):
"Remove the entire key KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager\WLAN"
One you do that, then soft reset and you will be good to go with this comm manager and wifi will work.
Neither Bluetooth explorer nor COm Manager will install in my wizard??? and there is no KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\HTC\CommManager\WLAN"
there now
You won't have that registry key until you install that cab (which apparently doesn't install for you). That key is something with the Trinity and causes probs on the Wizard.
All these, and some more from T-Mobile AKU 3.3 are included in my rom I posted 2 days ago, have a look (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299821) or try.

Disable the HTC Home clock and see the IGO program work like a charm.

And If you have more questions maybe put it in the relevant thread. HERE
Also I think you may have a burned up GPS chip. Try a different GPS program. GPSTest or something. But It would be better if you posted in the Thread that deals with Problems in the rom you are using.
two suggestions:
first: see if u have a-gps enabled. if so: disable and try again
second: try another rom... find one that's best for you.
i dont see how htc home plugin can affect this because i tested all possible combinations w&w/o it enabled and nothing changed. I had the same issue, igo freezing with dutty's wm 6.1 ROM when configuring and turning off assisted gps helped, as stated above.
My GPS worked fine with iGo until I changed the ROM (I had Dutty's ROM nr. 4). And that link that you give me, Jimmy, is related to HTC Home. I don't use it, like I said before.
Help please...
Still no answer... any ideea? Thanks

I'm not sure it's a ROM problem. iGo 6 itelf seems to have a problem dealing with AGPS. Mine also freezes after a while if AGPS is turned on.
I just leave it off and everything seems to work fine.
/drt
one thing i did was turning off the igo today plugin..and reboot..that should partially remove the conflict..
There are actually three different kinds of iGo problems I've seen with the various ROMs I've tried:
- Installation won't complete. Often, iGo will run anyway if you just do a soft reset when the installation halts. Often it won't.
- iGo runs, but once configured to find the GPS COM port, it hangs and hangs every time it starts after that. It may be related to AGPS, but I've seen this in ROMs that do not have that enabled by default. Also, I have no data plan and, as a result, no data connection with the tower.
- iGo installs, but won't start at all. Trying to start it results in a little screen opening animation, but nothing appears. The device is sluggish for a moment, then it's as if you never attempted to start it at all. This is the problem I have with Dutty's latest ROM. This almost certainly not related to AGPS since iGo has no GPS configuration immediately after installation. I don't believe it is related to the HTC Home plugin, since iGo runs fine for me on the AT&T test ROM, and it has the plugin.

This is definitely a conflict with the music tab of HTC Home, but only on some 6.1 ROMs (curiously not build 716 though). This problem doesn't occur in any 6.0 ROMs that I know of. It's not the plugin per se, but some component of the Today screen configuration that's causing the problem.

Is it sufficient to uncheck the plugin in the Today configuration and soft reset or is something more drastic required to resolve the conflict? The instructions linked to in an earlier posting seemed more like a series of black magic steps that happened to work.

WiFi can't turns on with first touch

how to solve this problem? replaced fw_dcr_1150_sta TiwlnapiCE.dll tnetwln.dll WiFiInit.exe WirelessService.dll?
i can only say you should touch twice instead of modifing files
its a safer option
Realy no solution?
Well, here the same anoying problem... Is there a solution?
Now I need to start my commanager, touch wifi before I see wifi in other programs like SPB Phonesuite, SBSH phonewheaver, etc...
It's a problem with every WM 6+ ROM i've used so far (over 10 diffirent).
Now using WM 6.1 CE OS.19588 from Diamond - CLEAN *FAST!*
I notice the same problem, i have to tap twice to activate Wireless.
I'm using Cloud Nine rom V0.9b, i tried other rom (XDA Mobile 6 Release 5 FINAL - Full), and it works fine.
Go to the windows directory. Copy wifi_init to your startup folder. Problem solved.
Reg fix
Wifi. init sometimes doesn't work for me, so I change
\\\registry\HKLM\Comm\TNETWLN1\Parms\HTCPreloadWifi
value to 1.

I needed to use the RegFIX & the shortcut. But now it works greet.
Thanks
I also copied the wifi_init link to the startup folder and i did the reg-fix on WM 6.1 CE OS.19588 from Diamond - CLEAN *FAST!*, but when I set HTCPreloadWifi to 1 I can't get my Wifi to start at all anymore!
Anyone got a solution for that? It's strange that it did solve the problem for some1 else in this topic with the same rom. Maybe I will try a hard reset tonight. It's not a big problem but it kinda annoys me
EDIT: Ok, I did a hard-reset last night, and now it works perfect after applying the reg-fix. WIFI turns on after a reset at once.
So I guess it had something to do with the programs I installed, or maybe I changed the registry. I'm going to install the programs again, one by one, and then check if WIFI is still good.

TouchFlo 3D Wireless Manager on/off sliders geeked up

My brother's AT&T Fuze (WM6.1 latest AT&T ROM 5.11.502.2 WWE) is configured roughtly the same as mine. On his TouchFlo 3D Wireless Manager page, the on/off sliders are in the wrong place and too large. The text vertical alignment is messed up. See attached pic. He thinks he first noticed this after installing .NET CF 3.5 but is not positive. What gives, how can this be fixed?
ermm have u tried reinstalling the ROM then checking it without installing NET CF?
try reinstalling the comm (wireless) manager before performing a hard reset
Check out AssassinsLament's Comm Manager suite w/ Wifi sharing
I realize a hard reset would no doubt fix this problem, but am looking for a way to avoid having to reinstall apps and reconfigure the phone. Perhaps I should have pointed that out in my first post.

That looks interesting and I might use it on my Fuze but I would prefer his phone to stay vanilla. Is there any way to reinstall the comm manager that is bundled into the latest AT&T ROM 5.11.502.2 WWE?
