Disable the HTC Home clock and see the IGO program work like a charm.

I don't want to eat your time... but my iGo still not work. I don't have HTC Home active... I tried even to enable and after that disable this function, but... no result...
This is serious...I can't use my GPS with iGo program....Any suggestion or fix?

And If you have more questions maybe put it in the relevant thread. HERE
Also I think you may have a burned up GPS chip. Try a different GPS program. GPSTest or something. But It would be better if you posted in the Thread that deals with Problems in the rom you are using.

two suggestions:
first: see if u have a-gps enabled. if so: disable and try again
second: try another rom... find one that's best for you.

i dont see how htc home plugin can affect this because i tested all possible combinations w&w/o it enabled and nothing changed. I had the same issue, igo freezing with dutty's wm 6.1 ROM when configuring and turning off assisted gps helped, as stated above.

My GPS worked fine with iGo until I changed the ROM (I had Dutty's ROM nr. 4). And that link that you give me, Jimmy, is related to HTC Home. I don't use it, like I said before.

Help please...

I'm not sure it's a ROM problem. iGo 6 itelf seems to have a problem dealing with AGPS. Mine also freezes after a while if AGPS is turned on.
I just leave it off and everything seems to work fine.
/drt

one thing i did was turning off the igo today plugin..and reboot..that should partially remove the conflict..

There are actually three different kinds of iGo problems I've seen with the various ROMs I've tried:
- Installation won't complete. Often, iGo will run anyway if you just do a soft reset when the installation halts. Often it won't.
- iGo runs, but once configured to find the GPS COM port, it hangs and hangs every time it starts after that. It may be related to AGPS, but I've seen this in ROMs that do not have that enabled by default. Also, I have no data plan and, as a result, no data connection with the tower.
- iGo installs, but won't start at all. Trying to start it results in a little screen opening animation, but nothing appears. The device is sluggish for a moment, then it's as if you never attempted to start it at all. This is the problem I have with Dutty's latest ROM. This almost certainly not related to AGPS since iGo has no GPS configuration immediately after installation. I don't believe it is related to the HTC Home plugin, since iGo runs fine for me on the AT&T test ROM, and it has the plugin.

This is definitely a conflict with the music tab of HTC Home, but only on some 6.1 ROMs (curiously not build 716 though). This problem doesn't occur in any 6.0 ROMs that I know of. It's not the plugin per se, but some component of the Today screen configuration that's causing the problem.

Is it sufficient to uncheck the plugin in the Today configuration and soft reset or is something more drastic required to resolve the conflict? The instructions linked to in an earlier posting seemed more like a series of black magic steps that happened to work.

Hi I’m pretty new to this. If I may can I ask a few questions? I search the internet first but I haven’t found the answer. First I flash to Dutty ROM 4 and work great but it’s always trying to connect to Gprs network but it doesn’t? I just load up Garmin XT it only works if I have the phone in airplane mode? If not in airplane mode the phone lockup? Also when trying to use Gps tries to connect to Gprs? Thank you for looking

Try using Dutty's Hybrid and see if the problem still exist.
alright. i'll try that tomorrow and see what happens and then report back for anyone else who may be having this problem.
Also. Don't forget to hard reset after a flash. I've seen the constant attempts to connect to gprs and Media Net before. Hard reset. Always hard reset after a fresh flash. Read dutty's wiki which is on the second post of the link attached. This is a very good rom. I suggest you try it.

No problem. Let me know how it goes. When you first start using it. Run Quick GPS and hit download. It may have already downloaded. You'll see what I mean when you open Quick GPS. Then run GPS Test. The first time you run GPS Test it will take a few minutes to get a GPS lock(top right of the screen it will say FIX and 3D). Every time after than it should only take about 30 secs. Usually I run GPS TEST then I run tomtom or Garmin. GPS Test gets faster locks. Let us know how it goes.

This is not normal behavior with Quick GPS, fix hould be near-instant, less than 10 seconds. Even the first time. Dutty's ROM takes 4 minutes to fix the first time, no matter what Radio. The following day same thing. Original ROM is 10 seconds fix. Tell me what's wrong where?

Quick GPS doesn't make any locks. Quick GPS only downloads data that knows where the satellites should be and only helps other programs find a lock faster. Maybe you were talking about GPS test.
You're right that locks take longer with almost any rom aside from an OEM rom. It still shouldn't take a few minutes after you get your first lock. If that's the case for you I recommend changing your radio. My radio works well after the first lock. So have many others for me. Try them out. See what you get.

I understand quickgps loads the positions up front. What the problem is though is that the first fix takes 4 minutes; of course afterwards it's quicker, but then leave it for the next day, it's 4 minutes again. The whole point of QuickGPS is to get it in 10 seconds.
So I tried with the original Radio ROM 1.27.12.17 and follow-up versions in the 27 series: low and behold: QuickGPS gives a quick-fix! But unfortunately this original Radio ROM doesn't work properly in WM6.1 - no sound issue.
i installed the latest dutty rom and i'm back to the original problem (garmin quitting after the splash screen).
i installed the rom and then got everything else set up how i want/need it before installing garmin. i think maybe some other software is interfering with it? but that doesn't make sense because i don't have anything on here that i didn't have when i was running WM6.0 with Garmin working.
I'm sure it's a compatabilty problem with wm6.1. See if there is an update available for your garmin.
i guess that would make sense since it started up on dutty's hybrid rom.
i'll check for an update, but i think i have the latest version.

iGO-8 & Polaris

Hi,
I´m new in this forum and i want to ask if somebody has problems with gps detection on igo 8.
In my case, when I set up internal gps (com4), Polaris hang off and the only solution is to make a soft reset.
Thanks in advance.

Confirmed, iGO and MioMap hangs if Assisted GPS is enabled.
Everything works fine now in both.

Ahh yes. Thanks so much. I've been trying to get iGo working for a week. I had enabled Assisted GPS via Kaiser Tweak. Once I disabeled it, now iGo found the internal GPS.

Hi guys,
If you want to keep aGPS activated.
You have to active the internal GPS with a third party software like GPS2Blue 1.8, 3d tracking 1.02.
I recommend to use GPS2blue or 3D tracking to active the GPS chipset because they are freeware and very low memory consuming.
After activation of GPS chipset wit the third party software then Igo08 should work for you as well.
thanks, im just about to install igo, havent tried it on polaris yet, used to use it on my apache...ill post my results hope it works

I-go 8 battery drain?
Hey guy's,
I installed I-go 8 and it works nice.
But does anyone else also have the problem with battery drains?
even connected with the car charger.
i turned on blue-tooth for my built-in carkit from Jvc kk-avx33 radio.
data connection. Wlan is off. Data connection is on.
the battery was full, after 2,5 driving with charger connected. the battery stay's at 1 line.
i tested it without navigation and just charging. then it is full.
Hm, sounds strange. It looks like the battery wasn't charged at all. You said that data connection was enabled. One thing I can imagine is that this issue caused a battery drain of more than 500mA which canceled the charging.
I noticed that when my data connection is running (in combination with bluetooth) the battery drain was about 400mA. Together with GPS maybe you reached a >500mA value or at least a value your car or your car charger couldn't afford so the external power supply was capped.
I hope you'll do some further investigation on this problem because I planned to do the same thing for my next holidays.
if anyone else is having the clock problem with igo (it sets ur clock incorrectly) it is a recognised issue and here is the fix from their site:
Time-Zone Error in Nav N Go iGO 8
Based on user feedback, we inform you that, in the current versions of Nav N Go iGO 8, the Windows time zone may be incorrectly set depending on the GPS position (for instance, Minsk is selected for Hungary). The correction of the error is in process.

n case time-zone errors appear, you can temporarily correct them on your device by editing:
/Program Files/iGO8/sys.txt
and adding the following lines:
[timezone]
sync_os_timezone=0
reset_os_timezone=0
Attention: The modifications will only be activated when Nav N Go iGO 8 is restarted.

gizmobreda. are you that tactless asking for free software in a developers' forum?
anyways, iGO8 WAS released already. i'm using it on my Polaris and it works fine.. no problems with the GPS.. works on port 4... you should check to see if your receiver is timesynced. you can manually change the sync to fit it to your location.. (it has some GMT+- problems).. using registry editing. (i won't get into that one cause it's not as legal as you would think).
So what are the benefits of using iGO8 as opposed to TomTom6?
Just curious since this is the first time I've heard of it.
I use both of them, there is no so much advantages of iGO except of map. Maps of iGO are newer with higher details and with many changes fixed. They are also capable of DEM.

TomTom + Dutty's 6.1 trouble

Anyone have trouble where the top most bar (the one with the battery & signal strength icons) locks up after running TomTom 6? The bar appears to have a part of the tomtom screen graphics on it, and it completely covers all the stuff that should appear up there. Any ideas? It seems to be causing a failure of some sort.
I have exactly the same problem. In fact it happens on some other apps too. I'll try and get some reproducible sequences up here for the smarter folks to take a look at.
I'll try and do the same. Have you found a workaround to fix things, or do you do a soft reset?

This is not a TOMTOM problem, this is a general issue on the ROM. I can not reproduce it reliably, but it has happened again. Basically, the Start bar stops.
Definately a general rom problem. I tried all there recommended radios, all have had the problem.

I had the same problem, you need to read the second post on the Dutty WM6.1 thread, you must use a radio compatible with 6.1, there are atleast 3 there, as soon as i flashed a new radio to my phone my sound worked perfectly
That's strange dude, i already used a WM6.1 compatible Radio rom from another Post. Well, thnx anyway.

Garmin issues in cooked ROMs

I originally posted this in the thread for Dutty's 4/29 release, but I've since had it happen in other cooked WM6.1 ROMs so I figured it should be moved out to it's own thread.
When I try to start up Garmin (installs fine), I get the splash screen and then it completely quits before anything else shows up. A few other XDA members have mentioned that they don't have problems and pointed towards checking the software that I have installed. So I did a hard reset, installed Garmin first, and then tested it after every piece of software that I installed.
It worked fine everytime so I thought it maybe just needed to be installed first to workaround any other conflicts. I happily started setting everything else up thinking that I was good to go. After I ran KaiserTweak, Schap's Advanced Config, and changed some stuff in the standard settings options, I tested Garmin again. This time, back to the original problem.
The only setting that I can think of that should matter is aGPS, but that doesn't seem to make a difference and the program quits before it even makes any indication that it's ready to touch the GPS receiver.
I'm going to keep messing with settings and stuff to see what I can find, but I figured I'd document it here for anyone else as well as see if anyone has any ideas on what settings it could be.
This is really driving me nuts.

It does not have the voice, help or basemap files, so this will not help you if you are trying to warez the software. You must already be an owner.
This version works great with WM 6.1, as I travel frequently and it has not had a problem with any of the 6.1 ROMs I have tried.

GPS Questions

Guys, I have a rather stupid question, and feel free to flame my newbness on the question all you want, I'm just trying to find an answer, for like monthes now...
I have NEVER been able to get my GPS to work, not even once.... It's been a problem for so long, that I eventually just told myself, well I guess I have to pay AT&T for that..... but I don't see why that's the case....
I have tried all of the programs, HTCGPSTool, QuickGPS, Google Maps, etc, all with multiple ROMs.... Right now I'm flashing the Official Update to see if I can get it working with that, but I'm truly dumbfounded.... It has never once, ever gotten a lock, or even found satellites.... It's making me want to bring my fuze to warranty center to try and get a new one
Information about my device:
I have installed HardSPL, usually run EnergyROM latest build, with Radio 1.14.25.05
I've had the phone since last Nov so something different has always been running on it, and not ONCE has my GPS worked for me....
Any ideas?
Thanks
Try first turning on ChartCross GPSTEST (in GPS folder on Energy Rom) wait for lock and then turn on your desired GPS program. BTW Google maps only works with aGPS (needs internet). I recommend TomTom (what I use), iGo or Gramin.

Thanks!
GPS
I recently gave up on the hit and miss of Pocket CoPilot v6, and now I just load GPSToday to run in the background to get the sat connection and now PCP works like a champ. FINALLY!
Can't wait for v8 this year!
I would like to confirm that TomTom is infact the bomb, works perfectly
I'm using version 7.915.9196 with USA and Canada Maps V-830.2323 reccomend anyone to check it out
garmin is so much nicer than tomtom. the interface is prettier and easier to use. it does cost alot though. i thought it was worth it.

I'll try that one next, and post back the results, thanks for the recommendation
i would recommend u change ur radio to 1.12.25.19 and install http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468249 <-- its a program called fusion GPS that gets a lock upon restarting ur device so u wont have to wait for that long dreadful first time lock. also that Radio is the best GPS radio i have found so far, works even faster with aGPS, i have used that radio and i get like 3-15sec lock outside and 30-80 sec lock inside my house, depending on if am close to a window or not

it always keeps timing out after the five minute interval.... maybe because my data connection doesn't auto-start on boot.... any way I can make that happen? but even when i do go start it, it still times out... seems ChartCross has been the best for me, and with aGPS, it will get a lock pretty quickly

Any ideas?
Thanks

I've had this exact same problem when also running latest Energy rom with radio 1.14.25.05, (I also have a lot of problems keeping a constant wifi connection even at full signal but thats another story).
This morning i flashed back to my original stock rom (vodafone uk) and although i had to wait FOUTY FIVE minutes for my first GPS signal i now have no problems with the latest version of TomTom and my uptodate USA & Canada map (i now live in Montreal)
Im going to run the stock rom for a day or two to see how it should run, then switch back to the Energy "Magic" rom as i really like that one out of all the 6.5 Roms.
Very strange.
Still the only way I can get it to work on a cooked ROM, is to use ChartCrossGPSTest.... wait until it says GPS Running, and go launch TomTom, leave ChartCross minimized
