CHARMER PM200... have BIG PROBLEM..

I have an CHARMER PM200.
Its version was 2.xx.xxx.
Customer give that phone to some one to unlock.. and that person kill this phone..
Now its only SHOW three color screen and
IPL 2.06
SPL 2.15.0001
..
I tried to write ROM with T-Mobile RUU_Charmer_2060227_20602110_021921_T-MobileUK_Ship
But it give me error.
ERROR {296} : UPGRADE ONLY
This NBF file cannot be used for your PDA phone. please get new NBF file.
When I use JAFWM to flash above file its flash 100% but problem still same.
anyone know.. how I can revive this phone..

Also tried to flash ROM RUU_Prophet_2151327_21513121_021921_DOP_ASIA_WWE_Ship-NoVendorID
But at 80% I get error..
ERROR [326] : INVALID COMMAND
This file cannot be used for your PDA Phone. Please check your NBF file

I had the same problem with my JAMin. I messed up trying to flash it with a home-made ROM and the tool used to build the ROM put two G4 SPLs instead of one G3 and one G4. This caused my G3 JAMin to have a G4 SPL. It wouldn't boot past the "rainbow screen" and the IPL and SPL levels were similar to what you have now.
The solution for me was to have it repaired under warranty :roll:

My charmer is still under problem.
Actually problem is that.. My phone is G3 chipset.. but someone flashed it with G4 flash files.
and Its spl and ipl is 2.xx.xxx and phone is detect as G4 chipset.. but phone is G3..
NOW ANYONE can guide me how I can write G3 Ipl/spl
waiting.

As I mentioned my JAMin was repaired under warranty. When it was returned to me they had replaced the main board. So it seems to be quite a problem to re-write the SPL if it has been flashed with the wrong type.
The new board has the G4 flash memory, so no more unlocking/downgrading adventures for me

Extract the RUU_Charmer_2060227_20602110_021921_T-MobileUK_Ship to a folder on your pc, than Extract the file i attached ("ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.exe") into this folder. than connect your charmer to pc and double click on "ROMUpdateUtility_Wizard_NoID.exe".
cross your fingers.

Hi,
Yes You may be right, we need a ROM with only G3 IPL/SPL or only G3 SPL and if we can force this G3 SPL (I think JAFWM can do it but not sure) into the phone the problem will be solved.
But Question is where can we find this "RUU_Charmer_1120223_11202110_11220_T-MobileUK_Ship" as it is not available on net, the file on FTP is corrupt.
"RUU_Charmer_2060227_20602110_021921_T-MobileUK_Ship" have both G3 & G4 IPL/SPL and when we write this ROM into phone it writes G4 IPL/SPL as Phone is detected having G4 by every software.
Otherwise the only option left is "JTAG" but only one guy (ARC but he lives in Russia) know the test points for Charmer.

I solved this problem before using JAFWM dongle
just uncheck skip ipl/spl and try flash
it will flash ur mobile with the correct IPL and SPL

can u please confirm me that you had same problem of G4 SPl on G3 DOC.
Because JAFWM detects my phone as G4 DOC and the ROM you mentioned has both G3 & G4 SPL so I think It will try to write G4 SPL not G3.

just detect ur phone in JAFWM , chose the nk file for ur charmer , uncheck skip ipl/spl then flash
in that way i think ur mobile will be revived again

BTW, how do you know if your machine is G3 or G4? By looking if your unit is P200 or P300? And to confirm,
SPL 2.06.0001 only works on G3?
SPL 2.15.0001 only works on G4?

you can use the updater from bootloader, I did without activesync

My Bootloader is Corrupt.
Actually My PPC has a G3 DOC and SPL is of Now G4 DOC.
It is connecting in bootloader mode but not allowing any upgrade.
The only option is "r2sd backup of SPL"
Can u help me?

Please remember that the prophet ROM is NOT compatible with the charmer !

My prophet is G4, so it can only cause more damage to your phone. but i will look for someone with a G3 prophet, to backup his rom with SD. if i will find, i will let you know.

I tried it but nothing happend.
Can it be that the card must be SD and model and manufacturer must be same or something wrong with the backup image.
I then tried making SPL image from shiped ROM by typhoneNBFtools.pl on the same card but the message was "Update Not Allowed"
Please help.

did u CID ulock your phone? you must do that before flashing with SD.

I used Lokiwiz to unlock it, but I dont know it worked or not.
After this wrong update (Prophet Custom Rom for G4) the SPL is now of G4.
I am now facing the same proble as Jester (G4 SPL on G3 DOC).
As G3 & G4 DOC structure is different so its not booting to OS and even not allowing any G3 SPL to load.
I even tried Wizard Roms, Prophet Recent Roms and even Jester's ROM but my IPL & SPL stayes same as.
IPL 2.06
SPL 2.15.0001.
Dont know what to do more ?

I've investigated deeper, and if you have a G3 with an G4 SPL you are screwed, the only way to recover is to do a hardware level fix, that is to move the flash chip to a good G3 with the correct SPL still in memory and then flash it, then move the chip back into your phone.
in short:
NEVER, EVER MIX the IPL/SPL of ANY G3 or G4 device, you will brick your phone !

Not yet, untill I get my SMD tools here, I might be able to do it
but it's very hard.

my prophet g4 device accidently flashed with 2.21 of wizard............
it was dead but now alive !!!!!!
cut of charger 2 wires inside. the + one (white) to pin1 of battery and the other wire to lowest pin 5. of the high voltage ur device will enter bootloader and stay in it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
connect usb cable and it will recognized =))))))))))))))
u can flash now to your earlier rom. in my case wwe 2.20 qtek rom with success. NOW device booting up again showing 2.21.0001 IPL AND SPL
but its working =))))))))))))

maybe you can repair your bootloader now.
I have an idea of how you could do it with g3.
Is your cid locked?

UPDATED NOW NEW TESTS DONE. IPL SPL = 2.21
if i use prophet roms now everything is slow on device not usuable. i have to use wizard roms LOL. only problem then no sound is working. but replacing dll from prophet gives u sound back again. ........ THIS IS ****ING BULL****. anyway its usuable again now. i flashed now the fucing pbootloader of wizard into my device..........................
Hardreset does not work anymore if holding camera and other button it goes again back to bootloader now i need to find out how u do a hard reset on wizard LOL.
anyway i need a IPL AND SPL From prophet ............... extracting ipl and spl from qtek prophet and traslating it making a new nbf results in a flash process but after i stays on old IPL SPL ....................... ill report soon more about this strage problem having a wizard bootloader on Prophet.

so if I'm doing thats right the whole thing is working, while you are connecting the wires get don't plug the wall chargare in so you don't have elictricity and cover up the rest of the pins im not sure if thats necessary but you don't wanna brick your phone even more the phone is turning of though as soon as you disconnect the wires... i'm having a prophet rom on it right now i'm trying a wizard rom now...
alright im running the wizard aku 3.2 rom now. its working very well except that i have to wires coming out of the back of my pda.
but ipl downgrade might be possible from there... so thank ýou alot the solution works

UPDATE: IM NOW ON 2.26 TMOBILE WIZARD NOW WITH IPL AND SPL 2.26 THIS IS WORKING ****ING GOOD AND TRUST ME ITS FASTER THAN MY PROPHET WAS EARLIER WITH PROPHET BOOTLOADER.
GET THE TMO 2.26 from FTP and flash it. it will update ur device (IPL + SPL )too 2.26 never mind of it
IPL DOWNGRADE is NO PROBLEM FOR ME u can extract rom hex edit the ipl part and version number i did that already my ipl now is again to low number (custom) 2.01 but spl i coudnt find out to edit. im working with winhex and primary memory editing since this is very dangerous i dont suggest to do it. only experienced users should do that

NO need to i will explain in detail.
1. Take ur phone and put it on ur table =)
2. Turn it so u can see the camera
3. On the right u see 6 Pins.
4. The Pin 1 is nearest to Camera
5. Pin 5 would be far away from camera.
u got it now ?

it worked for me with the sixth pin to by the way but that might be why it doesn't work without the wires for me yet.
did you cover up the other pins alphazero?
you were able to flash a lower bootloader back onto the device right with some kind of hexedit application or something?
I think a lot of users would be glad if you could upload a rom that can downgrade the ipl and spl including me , as you said it requires a lot of skill to cook the right rom...

Just a quick one. If you can downgrade the ipl and spl to 1.xx.0000 or 1.xx.0001, could it be possible to do CID unlocking?

I could do compile a rom that downgrades ipl to whatever u want. the spl is coded and i need to find the place in a spl rom where version id is written.
i found out that the update rom process checks version id.
so theory is fooling of a lower rom a higher rom id. this means your downgrade rom will have a higher rom id.
im working on it right now. i have to do some test on university right now like many others please be patient.

uhm no the battery pins was because our device did only turn on if it was plugged into the charger, which meant you couldn't plug it into the usb at the same time to flash a new rom.
your problem is different and can't be solved with that solution... sorry sd goldcard i guess

you mean it doesn't start even in bootloader mode?
did you use G3 version?
it's possible you bricked your prophet

You may have killed it, or it may just need some TLC to get it back.

At what point does it stop? At a 3 colour screen (bootloader) or at the vendor splash screen with the IPL/SPL/OS/Radio ROM version numbers?
Why did you flash it to 3.08?
There is no free method of downgrading the IPL/SPL from the ported 3.08 back to 2.x, it will cost you 20 pounds assuming you can get it to at least the USB bootloader mode.

i searched in thise forum and i found how to get boot loader mode and i flash another rom in the mobile the ipl now is 3.08 but the spl 2.09 and if i restart the mobile now it will not be work without i but the charger in..

Higher IPL/SPL. Does it matter?

im just curious as to what the main difference is in having an IPL/SPl of, say, 2.25 vs 3.08 or something else. if anyone could help that would be great

higher IPL/SPL is supposed to give faster boot times

If you do some searching, you'll discover that IPLs/SPLs higher than 2.26 tend to cause problems with custom WM6 ROMs. There's no reason to go any higher than 2.26.

No. I do have no problem so far. My IPL and SPL are both 3.08 and using NBD. Very stable and very fast after changing pagepool to 12MB.

I upgraded my os to WM6 and followed the thread in this forum. Then my IPL/SPL is 2.16. Now they are different , my IPL is 1.01 and my SPL is 2.16, does this matter? Did I missed some procedure? Is there a procedure that can make the IPL/SPL with the same number?

You didn't follow the flashing guide. This time, read the entire guide and all of the stickies before you attempt to unlock your phone.

I don't have any problems with IPL/SPL 3.08, its working great with WM6 and it has bit fast booting time, and i believe this is solid as T-Mob's 2.26. Newer Bootloader doesn't have any issue, beside i dont have any lockups after 3.08. Anyways its your own pref. so i prefer 3.08 and radio 2.69.11 for T-Mob users.

you may have missed a step about having to reflash buttons/love rom a few times until both ipl/spl are in the 1.xx. afterwards flash up to a 2.xx rom (recommended t-mobile usa 2.26), then flash to a 3.xx if you want to (floating around, but there is an official t-mobile ver in germany).

i went to upgrade my ipl/spl and i ran into a problem. the ruu tool reset my phone as usual to restart in bootloader but it never came back on. it cut off and now it wont turn on. can someone help? is my phone bricked?

try booting manually into bootloader if that works, restore using the Official ROM that comes from Carrier.
edit: wait are you telling me that you upgraded your IPL/SPL on G4???? with G3.... Dude thats bad sign

G4 + IPL of G3 is BAD!
Not to be insulting at all, but didn't you read those numerous warnings about NOT Flashing G3 with G4, and vice-versa?

Try Googling as well, you might get some ideas and yea good luck bro. I've got a friend who bricked his G4 and revived with those ideas. If you phone is under warranty you can call ATT with last resort and say something happened to your phone when you restarted, never tell them you upgraded the bootloader that is how you messed up.

1 question when your buddys g4 was bricked what was its condition?
