so unfortunately all the threads and tutorials i found about that were something with mtty and
stuff where you had to connecte the device actually to the computer. My problem is that the
only way my device stays in bootloader mode is if it is plugged in to the regular charger.
On the usb connect device it just flashes and turnes off after a couple of seconds.
So if I could write a backup onto the sdcard I could reload it from the bootloader.
Something like they have for the hermes where you copy the file on the sd card.
The only thing is that I can't connect the device to the computer, I have a cardreader though.
Cid stuff is no problem. I'm not sure if theres a way with pdswrite but all I see starts with
close wcseee....exe so active sync connection is closed but I want to get the backuprom
from the computer onto the sd card. So does anybody know a way for that?

sounds like your battery is dead, thats why you need your charger.
anyway, on the ftp site under my name there is an SD image which you can write to an sd card, however its for a G3

yeah but the battery itself can't be dead can it? I mean its probably about the driver...and i have the charger thats how i can get permanent into the bootloader mode I thought its probably more about the driver. Its weird though that the wizard crossbow rom works for some people and some people not.
anyways I have a vodafone vpa compact s with g4 and it bricked my phone for now... ^^
naah actually if it would have no connection to the battery it wouldn't start at all without recharger and it starts it just turns off after a couple of seconds so its more like very low battery... but without the battery it doesn't blink at all^^

Any news about a dump for a G4 Prophet? It would be better if I have such a dump so that I can test a WM6 rom without getting panic that it can failed and my new XDA Neo is dead!
guys , i have the same prob as u , can only connect to bootloader using mains charger, otherwise it will just hang and flash blue/orange led. You have to use the '2 wire charger solution' posted in this forum, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=292667 . It helped me unbricked my 818pro! Although i can now boot into my newly flashed os, but i will still encounter hang (blue/orange flashing led and blank screen) whenever i try to soft reset thru usb power. I will need to connect to mains charger in order to soft reset and boot into the system!
Try it and let me know if u encounter the soft reset problem too.

You have bricked your phone... You just can't install a G4 rom on a G3 phone... Different chipsets are the cause of the problem... Sorry

You'll have to wait to see if Jesterz manages to produce a goldcard...
BTW a goldcard it's basicly a mem card with a rom in it that autoinstalls itself thus no need for the usb connection... This fits your case cause you don't have an active usb conection because of the driver/chip conflict...

I have the same problem i tried to flash my g3 with jesters RUU-Prophet-G4-AKU2.2-2.20-2.47.21-Jester-r1 by mistake and it was ok until the end of process when i finich it with congratulations and bla bla my device stills in the bootloader mode all the time. I can now connect and start to flash but when it comes to 80% of the process it stops with error 360 wrong command. Pleas is there any help for some kind of downgrade flash or so because it can only get boootloader but never start with software. When I try with jesters RUU-Prophet-g3-AKU2.2-2.20-2.47.21-Jester-r1 the whole process finish ok but the phone stills in bootloader. The same thing is also with RUU-Prophet-g4-AKU2.2-2.20-2.47.21-Jester-r1 I can not execute step2
that's why you should read the "sticky" first before you do it.
I have a Dopod 818Pro from a friend of mine but in Chinese ROM, so I have to read a whole nite the sticky and found out what is my Dopod version, finally I found it is G3, so I did all the steps, from unlocked the CID till upgrade to Jester latest ROM for G3 and skip the G4.

Yes i realy know that it was my fault and my big mistake so i vould not do it again but now i need help because it stills in bootloader i i can even start flashing the device that gives me hope that some kind of recovery is maybe possible.

Yes sure i tried to flash rom from jesters for g3 which is for my device instead jesterz g4 what i used by mistake and it passed ok but when i restart it stills in bootloader mode only, so i could flash but do not know which firmware should i use

I've made these operations on my G4 prophet:
after to have CID unlocked the phone, I've tried to install an official italian ROM (a very good choice ), but I've trusted the man that sold me the phone.
Now powering on the phone normally, it shows the splash screen (HTC innovation) and after it power off
if start in bootloader mode (CAMERA + POWER) it shows the three colour display and IPL and SPL version (both 2.18.0001 )and after about 1 second, before to show USB enabling, it power off;
if I try an hard reset (CAMERA + COMM + POWER) it has same behaviour like in bootloader mode;
if I connect USB cable, it resets continuosly ...
Can somebody help me?
how are you cid unlocked? with a buyed tool? or some free issue?

I've erroneously upgraded the prophet (the upgrade process terminated with success) with a k-jam rom without backup before the running rom image on SD.
I'll let you know.
Nothing to do, Ihave full charged the battery phone but I 'm not able to access it via USB so that I cannot execute any upgrade by this way. Nobody has a G4 backup available on SD to try the restore?

my prophet was working normaly and while i was installing a program it stoped. i formated it and reinstalled the windows but what happened is:
1-it doesnt recognize the memory card anymore

Listen up
First off all charge the battery for 2 hours before doing this.
After turn on the device and press for 5 seconds the com button on the left side of the device.
You will enter the 3 colours loader.
Connect the device to the PC.
Step 2 Install the original Rom
Step 3 Do a Rom update use step 2 of pdamobiz Rom, select update rom file and wait.
Step 4 Do a hardspl G3 or G4 see your device to see witch one is it.
Step 5 install a new Rom with the RUU update utility G3 or G4.
Then you just have to wait the device to reboot and you can use it.
Note: Use the 2.19 radio Rom its the most stable, you can install it after installing the final Rom ok.
Any questions feel free ok bye.
i am sorry but i thought the three colour screen meens bootloader my problem now that i cant change this rom as it dont recognize the memory and also there is prblems with bluetooth.

Listen up that procedure i explained would put the PDA working 100%, if you have the problems you say you do, its because you installed a rom inappropriate for you device. The memory and bluetooth problems come from bad radio rom and from roms that are not suitable for the device, you mad bad installations, that is the real origin for your problems, if you want to stay with your device with problems fine, in my opinion the best is to put the original rom in and after that, do the rest of procedure if you don´t want to this its up to its your device not mine.

OK guys after beeing in bootloader mode do a g3 or g4 update with a new rom don´t forget to connect the usb cable correctly, see if it works, if it does not tell me what are your problems, bye.

Listen did you charge the device for 4 hours first on the electricity - step 1
Do a hard reset with the stylus on the device - step 2
press the left com button for 5 seconds on the device, before anything appears on screen - step3
If everything goes well the 3 colour screen will appear.
So here's the deal, I have a Qtek S200, stuck in tri-color screen.
The screen says IPL 2.10, SPL 2.20.0001.
I have been told that this is a G4 device that was flashed with a G4 IPL.
Any number of flashing tools I use tells me Invalid tool, file open, error etc etc.
It appears that my device is toast.
IS there a way to revive this little beauty>?

you can't flash a g3 with g4 upgrader. the program don't allow you to do this..
if your spl / ip is like x.xx.0001 is a g4 if is x.xx.0000 is a g3
you can instal a g3 update on bootloader (the 3 colors screen)
just connect to usb port and start the program/try with novendor update. ( the program not the ms dos)

On to do the NVID update now...

So I downloaded Prophet Shadow 2.0 rom and ran the G4 upgrade RUU.
During the flashing progress the Bar on the Phone whent RED a couple of times, it eventually went to 100% (being red for about a minute), once the flash completed the phone rebooted in to the sam old tri-color screen again,.
What do to now??

Downloaded the Prophet's 2.20.7.34_2.20_7114_02.69.21 Rom
Launched the G4 RUU, and I get Error 260 Update Error ;(

Bad USB Cable (Oups), I flashed the G4 completely (again the progress bar on the phone goes red at times and then green again) once completed it reboots to the same BootSplash (Tri-color) screen without any difference.

did you tried the other USB ports at the rear end of your CPU??
did you tried the recovery prcedures stated on the files i gave you to read?
if you have followed those there should be no problem bro..
try reading them back again and this time carefully...
and before flashing remove battery.. make sure its charged 50% or more... return battery, do hard reset when its on boot loader try connecting USB make sure you see a USB sign on the lower left of your screen... when RUU starts check the upper right corner of the screen of your phone if theres an RUU sign < optional, its just like a USB sign on the lower left of screen>
your phone should work if all procedures have been done...

Well this 'ol PZ I have only have one USB port. I have another PZ but is Vista.
I leave the phone on USB Charge over night so it should have enough juice.
I will go back and re-read the instructions, but this is not my first HTC device... but I may have missed something.

Status report.
Downloaded the file as referred to in the post.
Once I run it, it stops at 80% RED bar on the phone.
On the PC (RUU 2.5.2) it says the following:
Error 326: Invalid Command
This NBF file cannot be used for your PDA phone. Please check your NBF file
What now?

Thanks for the tip, I downloaded this ROM, ran the G4 RUU file.
It went through (again with a red bar at times on the device).
The PC said it all went successfully, and the phone reboots to tri-color screen again, SPL and IPL still the same.. DAMN!!
Any other suggestions or should I just declare it bricked?

About 80% in I get "INAVLID COMMAND"

I have the same problem. My imate was G3 ( I learn it after appyling the G4 batch ) I need to recover process and files from G4 to G3. I tried to recover by RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID.exe (novendor)
But, On the PC (RUU 2.5.2) it says the following:

Well Here's my story....
I was an Universal guy for about 5 years, and now I find myself stuck with a Prophet....
Don't take me wrong, I realy loved my Uni, and the prophet seems a good phone...
So after using it for a few days, I came back to this forum, and entered the prophet world...
Without spending the minimum time needed to search and learn how to properly upgrade the phone, or even tp know if it was a G3 or G4, I downloaded and flashed my prophet with a new ROM...
All went fine, and I got stuck in the bootloader screen, for about an hour... Then I finally found out how to properly HardReset the device, and now....
Well,... now I'm stuck in the splash "Inovation" screen and nomatter what I do, I just can't enter the bootloader....
After readding a bit...yah I know I should have done that before, and not after... I realize that my battery may be the culprit for not entering bootloader and so I plugged it in to the wall charger...NO charging light came on...
I know I don't need to write the next few words, but here they go...
HELP!!! PLEASE!!!

I needed the SIM card in my prophet, so I took it out, and also took the SD card...
Then I decided to re-try entering the bootloader...and....SUCCESS!!!
Now doing the RIGHT procedures to upgrade my prophet...

that means your phone is working and to flash a new rom you have to flash the uspl first..check the 1st thread on the vox section

There is a recent other thread dealing with a V1415 ROM also stuck in bootloader. Your choices are:
1.) (preferred): load a standard ROM for your device if you can get one and restart the flashing procedure with custom rom after the orginal ROM boots again. For an original S710 you can get it at HTC.
2.) (if you have no original ROM and cannot get one for your device): See the V1415 thread and the tips for Gold Card creation using QMAT.

Typing (Not Speaking - Joke) from personal experience... your best bet is to create the gold card with a sd card that's no more than 1gb. you can use the instructions from http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Elf_GoldCard
once you got all the steps down, you will be able to flash the phone with any vox rom, but my recommendation is the clean custom rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=414416 thanks to fireburned!

You can use any non(!)-SDHC card. You can hardly get small cards nowadays, so a 2GB is the best for later re-use (depite I dont have that problem I bought one just to see if it works - and it does!). Funny thing is that the sector that the Gold Card Key is written to is not used by the FAT (or data), so you can use even a full card and writing the sector to it with QMAP will not spoil the content of the card - so no need to buy one, just lend it if you find someone that trusts you (make a backup copy of the SD content before nevertheless).

if ur phone totally dead so first make back working conditions first download vox orignial wm6 roms this roms are in exe files these rom install automatic in ur phone no process need for this roms first ur battery should fully charged then connect ur phone with ur pc for direct bootloader try this method Bootloader
Power off device
Press and hold the camera button
Attach USB to computer and smartphone
Done.
(Works with all HTC Smartphones)
after this method ur phone screen go blank know click on wm6 rom exe file this rom start automatic install in ur phone after install ur pone come back in working condition with wm6 roms this only method that ur phone come back alive
