I'm French, and I have a Qtek 8310 (currently with WM5).
I'd like to turn into WM6, but it seems there is two different ROMs here (the sticky from jm012a9749 and the sticky from andot), and I really don't know which one is the best for me...
So, if you could help me to find the best for me:
I'm French (but I guess both are in English, so there is no hope for me to find a French one... )
I don't send any MMS
I send a lot of SMS (I'd like a French T9)
I use Windows Live (Messenger, Contacts, Hotmail, Spaces...)
I use a SIP account to make phone calls with the wifi
I sometimes take some photos
I'm not a complete geek... so, I need a ROM not too hard to install...

go with the perfect edition, which is better tuned and less buggy.
You can find many extra applications in the forum. especially check the extras package under Phil's sticky (post 4 I guess). Follow the instructions in Phil's sticky to supercid and format binfs, then install andot's PEE. I guess you can also find localisation files in the forum, but I never tried that.

Oh my God, I haven't understand anything of what you said...
When you say "andot's PEE", does it mean that?
And, I think I have understand that I must do the things written in the topic of the other ROM (Phil's one), before installing the andot's ROM... Am I right?

Its alright mate, ill guide you
1) Run SDA_Application Unlock
2) Extract SPV-Services, copy cert.cab into your phone and open it from ur phone to install it
3) Run SP-services, click CID-Tools, Set CID=1111111, turn off your phone
4) Remove the USB cable, disable USB Active Sync Connection ( Active Sync connection options )
5) Hold the camera button when the phone is off, plug in the USB cable, you will see a 3 colour screen
6) Run teratermpro, select USB
7) Type info2, you should see some weird number and HTCSuperCID
8) Type 'format BINFS' w/o the quotes
9) Then when its done, type 'ResetDevice'
10) Then run Phil's GSMUPDATE, get it from Phil's BETA thread, first post, extract it and run RUUUpgradeUtility
11) Then run Andots' Perfect English Edition ROM , run RUUupgradeutility

Before beginning: You talk about ActiveSync... but I use Windows Vista, so I have the "Gestionnaire pour appareils Windows Mobile" instead of ActiveSync... May it be a problem?
Oh, and another quick question before I begin:
Is there a way to save my SMS messages on my computer, in order to put them back on the phone after the upgrade?
I'm afraid you have a problem, SuperCID only work on WinXP, besides that, you cant run the RUU just like that in Vista, I suggest you do everything on an XP system
Yes, you can transfer SMS into your phone, use JeyoMobileExtender, trial version for few days, enough to backup, after that you can crack, but im not going to post the crack here
Also, in Vista, you don't have Active Sync, but Windows Mobile Device Centre, which is another problem, just get an XP system

I'm so stupid, I did'nt remember I have a old laptop with XP.
I'm on it currently.
I have installed ActiveSync 4.5, Jeyo MobileCompanion to backup SMS, Contacts and Call History on the PC.
Then, I ran SDA_ApplicationUnlock, but it told me "Phone is not unlockable", and just after: "SDA succesfully unlocked. PLEASE REBOOT SDA NOW!". It's quite weird...
Well, I rebooted the phone, and now I'll do your etap n° 2.

I have a problem: I copied Cert.cab on the phone and ran it to install it, but the installation failed.
I guess it's because SDA_ApplicationUnlock hasen't work...
What should I do now?
edit: That's okay, I succeded with HTCUnlock-CVS.zip instead of SDA_ApplicationUnlock.

Good luck dude, later when you want to transfer back the SMS to your phone, just Select all by hitting CTRL A, then clk Copy SMS to device

But I think I have a BIG problem, now:
I ran the "ROMUpdateUtility" from the WM6GSMUPDATE.zip of Phil, and I had no problem, it come to 100% quite fast.
Then, I've just ran the "ROMUpdateUtility" from wm6-for-tornado-perfect-english-edition-20070810.zip, and I now I have an error:
ERROR [260] : UPDATE ERROR
The Update utility cannot connect to your Smartphone. Please check that your USB cradle/cable is connected properly between the PC and your Smartphone.

Of course, the cable is still well connected, I haven't unplugged it.
Currently I have the 3 colors bands on the phone screen, with some things written.
That's OK now, I rebooted the phone and it worked.

tu es francais alors je parle francais, pour le t9, telecharge les extas dispo dans le post de phil, install xt9 english et ensuite instal MoDaCo xt9 ! et voila tu le t9 en francais

At first sorry for the Title.
My MDA Compact have following Problem:
If i start the MDA i must prepare the Timezone an some other things.
Then he reboot and start a Update. He read Datas from the extended Rom and after that the light goes off and i can read at the top Serial(if usb is plugged in there is USB) and at the bottom V1.00.
I have vista X64
Can anybody help me to fix my Problem?
What can i do?

My tips:
1.Make a hard reset.Power off phone.Press Voice recorder+Camera button and press reset.Release reset,but hold voice rec.+camera.You should see a black screen,I don't remember the text,press Send(Green phone).It will delete all datas from the phone(contacts,your files,etc..).After that phone reboots,you have to assign the touchscreen,date setting,etc...
2.If it doesn't help,you have to check the internal battery.It is under the ringer speaker.
3.ROM upgrade

Maybe you need some drivers,you can find it in the forum,but I recommend you to use a PC with XP.

i wanted to ask k how to install a rom ?
i have download .nbf files (roms) and even entered to bootloader version2.01 , in o2 xda exec.
after entring to bootoader , new usb connectn appeard in pc (win7).
what should i do next ? how to install those .nbf file there...
i also downloaded a .zip which contains "UNI_ExitBootloader".
i have also unchked the "allow usb connections" , and "allow data connections when connectd to pc" when i tried to update the driver by pointing them to those zip drivers. it saya my drivers (inwin7) r up to date then those (win vista) , then i tried to sun UNI_ExitBootloader file , error occurs saying to make sure to disable the usb connections , i already unchked them
help me plz

I have a PNA device (Inavi KL 100 ) , But i need to connect the device to my PC to edit some registry Values .. :good:
But the problem is that when i connect the device via usb cable nothing happen , i mean the device turn on but nothing display in my PC .
So the Question is that any way to connect the device to PC , i know that some other brands of Inavi have a recovery mode and other have a Key compilation like the android devices .... to boot and connect to Windows .
and if anyone have firmware or anything else to help me to Update the device because their an update in the officially website but i cant read Korean and I don't know what i must do .

As for inavi KL100 - You can not connect it to the computer via a cable USB . USB in Inavi works on the principle of host, which means that you can install any device which has Father USB , but connection Inavi to a computer - it is impossible . If you want to fix the registry, you need to go to the operating system and run the application - registryEditor for WinCE. But I do not understand - why do you need it ?
If You want to install another Menu - you should Know that you can damage YOUR Pna, and repair will be posso\ible in Korea or in Russia in my service center. You can translate original menu with my help. it is not free but i can get you any garanty

Hi,
have you got the firmware/launching files? I have one that came with car that is switching on but stuck on boot screen and won't load the menu even if I press the reset button on the back, upon searching on google they says it has to have an SD card with launching files to load the menu If anyone have the files please send it to me.

but no Roms success with me
it all fail error with screen size and touche and function

tablet name promedia super slim model: digitab
this is the error when i use program livesute with my computer
and this is the roms i before trying it
i install all drivers i found for it but no way the same problem still show
so I cannot Change the computer
and i try this methods
(change usb port , or data cable . remove older drivers and install new one. and i do not use usb hub or extension )
