Hi
I installed wm2005 1.60c wwe and now my xda doesn't work. I have no phone, no calendar or contacts. camera & recorder buttons don't work and no gprs connection. I get an error saying cprog.exe isn't working.
Not sure what went wrong. Didn't fully understand the instructions being a brave newbie I went ahead regardless. Also didn't backup! (duh)
These are the instructions I followed
Start your device in bootloader mode by pressing and holding down:
DPad + PowerButton + ResetButton
After a second release ResetButton, then release the rest of them.
Your screen will show word "Serial" at the top.
You are in bootloader mode now.
6. Place your device in the cradle, ensuring that the cradle
is plugged directly into a USB port on your PC and not to a hub
and that the power supply is connected to the cradle.
It is also a good idea to disable any screensavers on your desktop PC.
Once your device is cradled, the text on the screen will change to "USB".
7. Run HimaUpgradeUt.exe
8. Sit back and wait for the Congratulations screen to be displayed
on your PC. Your device will still be displaying 'Upgrading radio stack, please wait',
but as long as the PC says it is done, then its all OK.
9. Detach your device from the cradle.
10. Now you have to hardreset your device.
Press ResetButton and hold down CameraButton + RecordButton.
Hold them pressed until the "Boot Options" menu appears on the screen.
Select the options as follows:
(for selecting use RecordButton, change values with CameraButton)
Enable KITL -> NO
Clean Registry Hive -> YES
Format Storage -> YES
When done, press DPad and wait until OS starts.
At the end when I pressed the dpad nothing happened so I did a soft reset instead. Also at the beginning of the instructions it said this
Extract the decrypted versions of the nbf files
by entering the following commands at the command prompt:
xda2nbftool -x NK.nbf NK.nba 0x20040304
xda2nbftool -x Radio_.nbf Radio_.nba 0x20040306
2. Modify the operator ID in the nbfs to the value you require
by entering the following commands at the command prompt
substituting <operator> with the required value:
xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so <operator> -sl WWE NK.nba
xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so <operator> -sl WWE Radio_.nba
3. Update the crc values for each of the decrypted files
by entering the following commands at the command prompt:
xda2nbftool -c -u NK.nba
xda2nbftool -c -u Radio_.nba
4. Encrypt the files back into the nbf files by entering
the following commands at the command prompt:
xda2nbftool -x NK.nba NK.nbf 0x20040304
xda2nbftool -x Radio_.nba Radio_.nbf 0x20040306
which I didn't understand about the command prompt and ignored so thats probably why I have the problem. Can anyone help me with this?????
1.60?
why not try aku2 and abv
try getting tofclock 2.01 rom which i think is still the most stable rom and flash again
Ignoring the command prompt stuff is fine and won't have messed up your device, it is simply to get the ROM to be in a language other than english, if you have trouble with putting an english ROM on your device (for instance if you own an Arabian handset you will have to do this part)
Did you format storage and wipe the registry? Did you get through the whole flash process properly? The instructions should have worked, but you should have been able to press DPAD after the wipe (dpad is the direction pad for up-down, left-right movement).
Hi!
I've been having the same problem - along with the device no longer sync'ing with my pc. How do I wipe the storage and delete the registry entries?
Thanks,
Xale
R-cook the rom, and follow the instruction until the last step carefully
Thanks for your help - could you be a little more specific? or link to where i can get r-cook and these instructions?
thanks,
Xale

and u will encrypt those files the u may do the second steps (convert to other provider)......
its worked for me, after i encrypt the rom files to nba i opend it with WinHex and the header apper with Magician info like rom version and the provider
laters 8)
So can we make our extended ROM with the latest files by selecting the newest of all available extended ROM's and also add the CAB files of our desire and make the ultimate extended ROM for our Magicians????
Ok! I tried it with Rom editor? With xda3nbf tool it gives ..this is not normal header password not accepted contact your vendor… strange? After that I tried to change devicedata.txt to imate proprieties, make it red only and put in windows directory of my Compact. It starts working. Himaupdate says that my device will be updated, after compact goes to USB serial screen, and finally Himaupdate says that I have different device model and all stops! I write this just as my experience only. If passwords given in this site are correct, why I can not open Rom with editor to modify extended rom?
Hi,
I think the password is incorrect, because when I try to decrypt the roms (O2Asia) with the nbf tool, it has a warning message "WARNING: this does not look like a nbf header, possible you provided the wrong password".
Any one can give me the password? Thanks
Any guys here in Pinas know where to buy the crystal case or clear case here in metro manila? Not the hard case wich is the metal like but i need the crystal/clear case. Thanks!

Hi! If you can spare the time try visiting Digital Walker (or something like that) in Park Square I, Makati. The store would be along one of hallways leading to/ from Hotel Nikko/ Dusit Hotel. I'm not aware of their store hours, but given that they operate in the mall, they might be following mall operating hours. If I understand what you are looking for correctly, this would be one of your best bets (place to visit that stocks this item).
You could also try visiting Xsite Mobile in Megamall (Pasig). This would be in the basement level of SM Mega Mall Bldg. A (I think), I could be wrong. Might be in Bldg. B, either way you could try checking the store directory/ lay-out plan or asking a security guard.
Good luck!
Any chance you know of any store selling the O2 original folding keyboard for the Xda II?
Cheers!

Xda II Keyboard & Inquiry
Thanks for the information! By the way, this is something I posted recently but I've received no responses yet. Maybe you folks can point a way through.
"Please help! Being an avid user (I really enjoy the old system environment I was using), but not that much of a "techie". I've managed to create for myself an interesting problem/ concern. I followed a link here in xda-developers and I foolishly tried upgrading my system through the following: Himalaya_WM2003SE_Upgrade and HIMA_WM_2K3_EXTROM. I need to and want to restore back to my old system. Please help me!!!
Note: Not being a consumate techie, but a user, I may have overlooked a something below... But I desperately need to restore.
"I obtained (with many thanks to fychan) a memory image of an English version of WM2003 SE which is an earlier version than the recent Chinese release, but it is genuine English. I managed to create an installable NK.nbf file from this. Also, mamaich has provided the version 1.18 Radio upgrade included here. Many thanks to mamaich for that and also for some advice when I was building the OS nbf file. Also, mamaich has provided some CAB files for Extended ROM which I have also attached here separately.
Attached is an upgrade for Himalaya devices to WM2003 SE WWE, Radio 1.18. Unzip the attachment into a folder of your choice. The nbf files are configured for operator ID O2 and language ID WWE. If you need to change these, carry out all the steps below. If they are OK for you, go straight to step 5.
1. Extract the decrypted versions of the nbf files by entering the following commands at the command prompt:
Code:
xda2nbftool -x NK.nbf NK.nba 0x20040304
xda2nbftool -x Radio_.nbf Radio_.nba 0x20040306
2.
3. Modify the operator ID in the nbfs to the value you require by entering the following commands at the command prompt substituting <operator> with the required value:
Code:
xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so <operator> -sl WWE NK.nba
xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so <operator> -sl WWE Radio_.nba
4.
5. Update the crc values for each of the decrypted files by entering the following commands at the command prompt:
Code:
xda2nbftool -c -u NK.nba
xda2nbftool -c -u Radio_.nba
6.
7. Encrypt the files back into the nbf files by entering the following commands at the command prompt:
Code:
xda2nbftool -x NK.nba NK.nbf 0x20040304
xda2nbftool -x Radio_.nba Radio_.nbf 0x20040306
8.
9. Place your device in the cradle, ensuring that the cradle is plugged directly into a USB port on your PC and not to a hub and that the power supply is connected to the cradle. It is also a good idea to disable any screensavers.
10. Run HimaUpgradeUt.exe
11. Sit back and wait for the Congratulations screen to be displayed on your PC. Your device will still be displaying 'Upgrading radio stack, please wait', but as long as the PC says it is done, then its all OK.
Notes:
a. I have installed this upgrade on my XDA II without any problems, and have also been able to revert back to the 1.72 ROM I had installed previously. I have bootloader v1.01, and I don't know whether it would be any different for later versions of bootloader.
b. After upgrading, a hard reset takes places and the Extended ROM is installed. I found that several applications caused a 'Application may not display properly.....' message box to appear which required tapping to dismiss. Therefore, you will need to make sure that TPDisable.exe is not run in the Config.txt script in the Extended ROM, otherwise you will not be able to respond to the messages.
Edit: I've created a .BAT file which can be run from a DOS prompt to replace steps 1-4...

IMPORTANT: I don't have time waiting on IRC sitting on my ass, I need to sleep. so this final package wasn't tested as I don't have this device myself, but I'm pretty sure it'll work alright. again sorry for the delay, I was busy in life (new place to live in, RhodiumW, making a living etc... not in order of importance ). this release could still be waiting if I wanted to wait for someone to do final release test but I'll just let you try it.
--below text is copied from my PPCGeeks thread--
OK right now I don't have time for the final tests (am still without a device) but I suppose it works. let me know if it does.
Update: it was tested at ppcgeeks and works.
Instructions:
first, if you have GSM treo pro (NOT CDMA, NOT SPRINT/VERIZON/TELUS), this is for your device. it is for PANT100.
steps:
0) if you have Vista or Windows 7, make sure you have latest WMDC.
1) download Hard-SPL package from attachment, extract to an empty local folder.
2) you must Have Phone Synced with PC in Windows Mobile!
3) run PANTHER_GSM_HSPL exe from the folder
4) follow steps in the program!
5) it should go to tricolour screen now, i.e. SSPL mode, and show 0.59.C-SSPL. now follow steps in the RUU that's launched by now.
6) SPL flashes, device automatically reboots, job done. if you get any errors, follow the instructions offered by the program.
7) to confirm you got it installed, go into bootloader mode (tricolour screen!) and verify the screen shows 0.59.CMONEX.
NOTE: you will not see the SPL version during normal boot!
to enter bootloader mode to see version: with the device turned on, press and hold the Camera button along with the Power button, then press the reset button with the stylus tip, then release the Camera and Power buttons when bootloader tricolour screen appears.
NOTE 2: anyone having problems with the device entering SSPL automatically or problems with USB connection after SSPL was loaded, please copy SSPL-Manual-PantherGSM.exe from the SSPL-Manual-PantherGSM_V059.zip attachment to the device and run it (device must be plugged in to USB). then once the screen is in SSPL, run CustomRUU from Panther_CustomRUU.zip attachment manually and flash NBH file from PantGSM_HardSPL059.zip.
NOTE 3: this is unsigned Hard-SPL. no limitations on flashing ROMs. also, this has overwrite protection, if someone needs to revert to stock SPL for warranty reasons, a stock SPL downgrade package will soon be posted.
NOTE 4: do not use this RUU to flash anything else! this is only intended for flashing the HardSPL.
[SIZE=+2]finally, if you wish to thank me with a donation[/SIZE], you can do so by clicking the link the HardSPL program offers, or here: http://hpcmonex.net/htc/pantc/panther.htm
Troubleshooting tips:
- read the instructions
- read the instructions
- read the instructions
- if you have USB issues:
1. anyone having problems with the device entering SSPL automatically or problems with USB connection after SSPL was loaded, please copy SSPL-Manual-PantherGSM.exe from the SSPL-Manual-PantherGSM_V059.zip attachment to the device and run it (device must be plugged in to USB). then once the screen is in SSPL, run CustomRUU from Panther_CustomRUU.zip attachment manually and flash NBH file from PantGSM_HardSPL059.zip.
2. if it still has connection error in SSPL screen, try unplugging and replugging the USB
3. try different USB port, PC, etc.
4. when there are sync issues, the program also suggests installing this file on the phone: http://hpcmonex.net/roms/enablerapinew.cab, just making a note here too.
steps for stock SPL restore:
--posted soon-- (edit: mmm reminder to myself, this one has full overwrite prot.)
THIS IS AWESOME!!!
...I don't have time to test it yet, though. In the morning, for sure! Can someone get this working and make instructions for WM 6.5?

Download ItsUtils from here, and extract the zip.
http://nah6.com/itsme/itsutilsbin-20090515.zip
Connect your Treo Pro using ActiveSync or WMDC
Run these commands. The first time you run them, you will have to allow a dll to run on your device. Just follow the on screen prompts.

My phone's software is 2.37.707. Can i downgrade to 1.32 by this way? In hboot is ship s-on...
People, this is not a tutorial, it is a question. The guy does not know, he asks. This tutorial cannot downgrade anything above 1.7, unlike the existing guide in XDA. Mod, please remove this thread from the dev section.
That guide does not even have source pointing to the right place.. Makes my blood boil.

I've used these posts for the first time, got root, but not full root. Had downgraded the radio, but when i wanted to upgrade the radio it told me that i hadn't root, and got serious problems connecting to pc. so I've installed an offical RUU and use ATM TOOL
---- ATM TOOL -----
Simply use this tool. This is the best tool, as it querys the phone if it can or not be downgraded/rooted/unlocked:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1037315
That is what i have used. Now i don't remember if i had radio 2.37
But you will have to downgrade it anyhow.
Check this out:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003
I tried to post this as a reply to the actual thread that it had to do with but I am apparently not cool enough yet to post in developer forums. Hence, this thread.
A lot of people have been having problems with the tool returning %1 %3 %5 %7 %9 %12 instead of the MSL. Some people have said something about adb not being recognized and correctly assuming that it has something to do with the path. This tool calls on two commands- adb and findstr. Adb is located wherever you've put it and findstr.exe is in c:\windows\system32
I suggest putting adb.exe in c:\windows\system32 as well
Basically the locations of both these commands need to be included in the path statement if you want them to be able to work from any location, which we do. So, if you're having this %1 %3... etc problem, open up a command prompt wherever you have the photonq-msl.bat at. If you've put adb in the C:\windows\system32 directory/folder then at the command prompt, type
"path = c:\;c:\windows\system32"
then type "photonq-msl" to run the batch file.
Why the c:\windows\system32 directory isn't in the path statement already is beyond me, but it's not and that's the problem. Do this and it should work. If it doesn't, try opening a command prompt, typing the path = c:\;c:\windows\system32 thing then follow the normal directions on the phone (dial #DATA, first menu option, 3 dots in corner, edit, then verify. Once you press the verify button, type
adb logcat -b radio -d | findstr /C:"grde"
and you will get a number back.
If your number is 123456789123 take the 2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th & 12th numbers and you have your MSL. In this case:
MSL = 246813
I THINK that this error is caused by there needing to be a "^" right before the "|" due to the command already being nested inside quotes inside a FOR statement. So that line in the batch file should read:
FOR /F "tokens=17" %%G IN ("adb logcat - b radio -d ^| findstr /C:"grde"") DO SET EXTRACTED=%%G
but I haven't actually tested that, yet.
