xda3nbftool -x NK.nbf NK.nba 0x20040521
xda3nbftool -x ms_.nbf ms_.nba 0x20040522
xda3nbftool -x Radio_.nbf Radio_.nba 0x20040522
and u will encrypt those files the u may do the second steps (convert to other provider)......
its worked for me, after i encrypt the rom files to nba i opend it with WinHex and the header apper with Magician info like rom version and the provider
laters 8)

So can we make our extended ROM with the latest files by selecting the newest of all available extended ROM's and also add the CAB files of our desire and make the ultimate extended ROM for our Magicians????

Ok! I tried it with Rom editor? With xda3nbf tool it gives ..this is not normal header password not accepted contact your vendor… strange? After that I tried to change devicedata.txt to imate proprieties, make it red only and put in windows directory of my Compact. It starts working. Himaupdate says that my device will be updated, after compact goes to USB serial screen, and finally Himaupdate says that I have different device model and all stops! I write this just as my experience only. If passwords given in this site are correct, why I can not open Rom with editor to modify extended rom?

Hi,
I think the password is incorrect, because when I try to decrypt the roms (O2Asia) with the nbf tool, it has a warning message "WARNING: this does not look like a nbf header, possible you provided the wrong password".
Any one can give me the password? Thanks

Hi! If you can spare the time try visiting Digital Walker (or something like that) in Park Square I, Makati. The store would be along one of hallways leading to/ from Hotel Nikko/ Dusit Hotel. I'm not aware of their store hours, but given that they operate in the mall, they might be following mall operating hours. If I understand what you are looking for correctly, this would be one of your best bets (place to visit that stocks this item).
You could also try visiting Xsite Mobile in Megamall (Pasig). This would be in the basement level of SM Mega Mall Bldg. A (I think), I could be wrong. Might be in Bldg. B, either way you could try checking the store directory/ lay-out plan or asking a security guard.
Good luck!
Any chance you know of any store selling the O2 original folding keyboard for the Xda II?
Cheers!

Xda II Keyboard & Inquiry
Thanks for the information! By the way, this is something I posted recently but I've received no responses yet. Maybe you folks can point a way through.
"Please help! Being an avid user (I really enjoy the old system environment I was using), but not that much of a "techie". I've managed to create for myself an interesting problem/ concern. I followed a link here in xda-developers and I foolishly tried upgrading my system through the following: Himalaya_WM2003SE_Upgrade and HIMA_WM_2K3_EXTROM. I need to and want to restore back to my old system. Please help me!!!
Note: Not being a consumate techie, but a user, I may have overlooked a something below... But I desperately need to restore.
"I obtained (with many thanks to fychan) a memory image of an English version of WM2003 SE which is an earlier version than the recent Chinese release, but it is genuine English. I managed to create an installable NK.nbf file from this. Also, mamaich has provided the version 1.18 Radio upgrade included here. Many thanks to mamaich for that and also for some advice when I was building the OS nbf file. Also, mamaich has provided some CAB files for Extended ROM which I have also attached here separately.
Attached is an upgrade for Himalaya devices to WM2003 SE WWE, Radio 1.18. Unzip the attachment into a folder of your choice. The nbf files are configured for operator ID O2 and language ID WWE. If you need to change these, carry out all the steps below. If they are OK for you, go straight to step 5.
1. Extract the decrypted versions of the nbf files by entering the following commands at the command prompt:
Code:
xda2nbftool -x NK.nbf NK.nba 0x20040304
xda2nbftool -x Radio_.nbf Radio_.nba 0x20040306
2.
3. Modify the operator ID in the nbfs to the value you require by entering the following commands at the command prompt substituting <operator> with the required value:
Code:
xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so <operator> -sl WWE NK.nba
xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so <operator> -sl WWE Radio_.nba
4.
5. Update the crc values for each of the decrypted files by entering the following commands at the command prompt:
Code:
xda2nbftool -c -u NK.nba
xda2nbftool -c -u Radio_.nba
6.
7. Encrypt the files back into the nbf files by entering the following commands at the command prompt:
Code:
xda2nbftool -x NK.nba NK.nbf 0x20040304
xda2nbftool -x Radio_.nba Radio_.nbf 0x20040306
8.
9. Place your device in the cradle, ensuring that the cradle is plugged directly into a USB port on your PC and not to a hub and that the power supply is connected to the cradle. It is also a good idea to disable any screensavers.
10. Run HimaUpgradeUt.exe
11. Sit back and wait for the Congratulations screen to be displayed on your PC. Your device will still be displaying 'Upgrading radio stack, please wait', but as long as the PC says it is done, then its all OK.
Notes:
a. I have installed this upgrade on my XDA II without any problems, and have also been able to revert back to the 1.72 ROM I had installed previously. I have bootloader v1.01, and I don't know whether it would be any different for later versions of bootloader.
b. After upgrading, a hard reset takes places and the Extended ROM is installed. I found that several applications caused a 'Application may not display properly.....' message box to appear which required tapping to dismiss. Therefore, you will need to make sure that TPDisable.exe is not run in the Config.txt script in the Extended ROM, otherwise you will not be able to respond to the messages.
Edit: I've created a .BAT file which can be run from a DOS prompt to replace steps 1-4...
Usage: OperatorUpdate operatorID
where operatorID is O2 or CDL or TMOBILE, etc.

WM2005 install now XDA doesn't work

Hi
I installed wm2005 1.60c wwe and now my xda doesn't work. I have no phone, no calendar or contacts. camera & recorder buttons don't work and no gprs connection. I get an error saying cprog.exe isn't working.
Not sure what went wrong. Didn't fully understand the instructions being a brave newbie I went ahead regardless. Also didn't backup! (duh)
These are the instructions I followed
Start your device in bootloader mode by pressing and holding down:
DPad + PowerButton + ResetButton
After a second release ResetButton, then release the rest of them.
Your screen will show word "Serial" at the top.
You are in bootloader mode now.
6. Place your device in the cradle, ensuring that the cradle
is plugged directly into a USB port on your PC and not to a hub
and that the power supply is connected to the cradle.
It is also a good idea to disable any screensavers on your desktop PC.
Once your device is cradled, the text on the screen will change to "USB".
7. Run HimaUpgradeUt.exe
8. Sit back and wait for the Congratulations screen to be displayed
on your PC. Your device will still be displaying 'Upgrading radio stack, please wait',
but as long as the PC says it is done, then its all OK.
9. Detach your device from the cradle.
10. Now you have to hardreset your device.
Press ResetButton and hold down CameraButton + RecordButton.
Hold them pressed until the "Boot Options" menu appears on the screen.
Select the options as follows:
(for selecting use RecordButton, change values with CameraButton)
Enable KITL -> NO
Clean Registry Hive -> YES
Format Storage -> YES
When done, press DPad and wait until OS starts.
At the end when I pressed the dpad nothing happened so I did a soft reset instead. Also at the beginning of the instructions it said this
Extract the decrypted versions of the nbf files
by entering the following commands at the command prompt:
xda2nbftool -x NK.nbf NK.nba 0x20040304
xda2nbftool -x Radio_.nbf Radio_.nba 0x20040306
2. Modify the operator ID in the nbfs to the value you require
by entering the following commands at the command prompt
substituting <operator> with the required value:
xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so <operator> -sl WWE NK.nba
xda2nbftool -sd PH10 -so <operator> -sl WWE Radio_.nba
3. Update the crc values for each of the decrypted files
by entering the following commands at the command prompt:
xda2nbftool -c -u NK.nba
xda2nbftool -c -u Radio_.nba
4. Encrypt the files back into the nbf files by entering
the following commands at the command prompt:
xda2nbftool -x NK.nba NK.nbf 0x20040304
xda2nbftool -x Radio_.nba Radio_.nbf 0x20040306
which I didn't understand about the command prompt and ignored so thats probably why I have the problem. Can anyone help me with this?????
1.60?
why not try aku2 and abv
try getting tofclock 2.01 rom which i think is still the most stable rom and flash again
Ignoring the command prompt stuff is fine and won't have messed up your device, it is simply to get the ROM to be in a language other than english, if you have trouble with putting an english ROM on your device (for instance if you own an Arabian handset you will have to do this part)
Did you format storage and wipe the registry? Did you get through the whole flash process properly? The instructions should have worked, but you should have been able to press DPAD after the wipe (dpad is the direction pad for up-down, left-right movement).
Hi!
I've been having the same problem - along with the device no longer sync'ing with my pc. How do I wipe the storage and delete the registry entries?
Thanks,
Xale
R-cook the rom, and follow the instruction until the last step carefully
Thanks for your help - could you be a little more specific? or link to where i can get r-cook and these instructions?
thanks,
Xale

How to edit and make .nbf file for extended ROM

Hi everybody
I want to edit ms.nbf, add/remove program in ExROM file, how can i do that?
And I want to create the ms.nbf from the Extended Rom folder ( that i copy from PPC). How can i do that?
Thanks so much!!!

ER2003Edit will not work on Magician EXTROM
You have to extract the FAT image using magician_ext_rom_tool [http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=24969&d=1130526115], modify it, and reencode it using magician_ext_rom_tool.
sounds like alot less hassel to just unhide and unlock it
and mess around that way then
Backup ROM need whole SD, and "size of the backup file nb1" = "size of SD"
I use 256MB -> it 's too large. And I not really like that.
Now I want to keep 1 ROM that i like most (include nk.nbf, Radio.nbf, ms.nbf).
Now I have 2 file radio.nbf and nk.nbf and I want create 1 file ms.nbf for myself that i like most.
I just got "Extended ROM" folder (By HR, and SR 3s before PPC auto config)
I dont know how to convert that folder to .nbf file?
How can i use "magician_ext_rom_tool" ? What is the header file?
Nobody help me?

The search function is made for that! Lazy!
Encode: -e -n <nbf filename> [-f <fat16 filename>] [-h <header filename>]
Decode: -d -f <fat16 filename> -h <header filename> [-n <nbf filename>]
I dont know what is header?
b0ris747, can you explain me?
The header file will be created on decode process
C:\ROMs>magician_ext_rom_tool.exe -d -n ms_.nbf
[msg] usage() - Generating FAT16 filename from NBF filename.
[msg] usage() - Generating Header filename from NBF filename.
It will contain device specific options to recreate the header contained in the nbf (which make it uploadable and recognizable on your device).
After modifying the FAT image, you'll have to encode header and FAT image to create a new NBF
C:\ROMs>magician_ext_rom_tool.exe -e -f ms_.fat -h ms_.hdr -n ms2.nbf
Will create a ms2.nbf (rename it to ms_.nbf and upload it.)
EDIT: wiki page created: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=MagicianExtrom
Oh, thank you.
When using it before, i have a mistake with encode and decode, so it not work...
Thank you very much
Can somebody explain to me how i can cook an external rom file? I would like to include the installation of tomtom with it so it is automatically installed (since battery runs empty occasionally). Any help maybe?

Orange Uk Rom 1.14.61.2 ready For Download

hi all my reconstructed orange uk rom is now ready for download.
1. you need to run uspl and then install uspl for help check out (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=330909)
2. then when phone has started you can run flash.exe in the rom folder.
3. once the phone has rebooted and you have your new orange uk rom run flash inside splashscreen folder for the orange splash.
for some reason i couldnt get it to work with all items together so we have to do three steps.
Warning: I have tested this by flashing to my own e650 but you do flash at your own risk.
To download rom click on the link below:

No radios are included but they are available on the ftp as my rom will be hopefully.

yeh sure i can try for you, you just need to dump the three parts of the rom for me and then upload them to somewhere like rapidshare.
download the file located at:
http://nah6.com/~itsme/itsutilsbin-20080313.zip
extract to c:\rom
then start - run - cmd
type
cd..
then press enter
cd..
then press enter
cd rom
then press enter
"Below are the steps required to dump the ROM. Take care to check that the partition sizes match your phone."
type:
pdocread.exe -l
then press enter
youll then get something like the following:
58.82M (0x3ad1000) DSK1:
| 2.09M (0x217400) Part00
| 3.32M (0x352800) Part01
| 53.40M (0x3567000) Part02
making sure the 0x3567000 is the number for ypur part as these nums are different on every rom.
type: (this can take a short while)
pdocread -w -d DSK1: -p Part02 0 0x3567000 Part02.raw
then press enter and it should say:
CopyTFFSToFile(0x0, 0x3567000, Part02.raw)
then type: (these will be quite quick)
pdocread -w -d DSK1: -p Part01 0 0x352800 Part01.raw
then press enter and it should say:
CopyTFFSToFile(0x0, 0x352800, Part01.raw)
then type:
pdocread -w -d DSK1: -p Part00 0 0x217400 Part00.raw
then press enter and it should say:
CopyTFFSToFile(0x0, 0x217400, Part00.raw)
when the above has finished zip or rar the raw files from c:\rom and then upload the rar to rapidshare and send me link.

we need a uk rom of 1.22 i only have old rom, i was going to try and extract orange pluggin but its against rules. if you know anyone with a uk e650 on the new orange rom dump files and send me them and i can then reconstruct it.
link to ftp for radio files says permission denied.
How can I get them or can you put them on rapidshre perhaps ?
I have got the rom from rapidshare ok.
I am plannin on trying the wm 6.1 rom update but want to be able to put the original orange ram back on if I don't like it or want to sell the phone later.
What exactly is the radio part for. bluetooth/wifi ?
Will I not be able to use that if I put the rom on without it ?
hi ill try looking for radio links but if u try win mobile 6.1 rom that doesnt change your radio so therefore you are ok,
the radio controls phone signal bluetooth and wifi.
before you flash check what version of orange rom you got cos theres some people with a newer rom.
to check press start and then settings and then more and about and then look at the operator number and if its 1.22 will you msg me as thats newer and i need the newer rom.
hope that helps

Might be in luck.
Rom version 1.22.61.3
Operator version 22.122.1.613
Actually not sure know if that means rom is 1.613 because you said operator number.
Rom version is listed above that though and is as above. 1.22.61.3
Is that what your after ?
In any case I have no idea about how to backup up the rom to send to you or my radio parts to enable me to put it back if needed after trying 6.1
Hi Hoyler,
My S710 are in warranty and i need revert to my original ROM.

Dumping the pharos rom: help needed...

I tried to dump my pharos rom for a guy who needs it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=417330
While editing the registry HKLM\Security\Policies\Policies valuename '00001001' I changed it to dword:1
So far no problems
In the next step I tried to check that all the partition sizes reported by pdocread were correct. Here I got the first error message (see screenshot).
I tried to skip the verification of the partition sizes reported by pdocread and tried to go on with the reported partition sizes. But here it's the same error message again and I can't go on with further steps (see screenshot).
My pharos is not modified in any way, has no sim lock and the original shipped rom. No HardSPL so far.
in the command line you need to change "FLASHDR" with "DSK1:"
this is the right command:
pdocread -w -d DSK1: -p Part00 0 0x313400 Part00.raw
remember that the the os is Part02.raw
bye
Copy the files included in this zip to your tools directory and use this bat file to dump the firmware. You will get the SYS and OEM folders on the dump directory. It only dumps part02.
I'm trying to do a automated dumper like elf's one, but it isn't finished.
Files missing..
Thanks to both of you for your help.
@jose_sonseca: Your tool is absolutly fantastic ****many thanks****
But I still need two files, one is something like ...prepare_imgfs...
Where can I find them...?
You need itsutils (if you have pdocread, it's ok), and imgfs tools -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=249836 Download imgfs_tools_182.zip
They include prepare_imgfs and viewimgfs. DMP2PKG tool is included in my zip file.
