WM6 on G4 CID-Locked Prophet

Hello,
I am not a really experienced user in ROM upgrading, IPLs, SPLs, and the works. I have read a LOT about these subjects and i still don't understand a few things. Nevertheless i tried.
I own a G4 CID-Locked Prophet (QTEK S200) as described in the title and i tried upgrading to WM6 "just to see" what the hell would it do.
Before trying this WM6 upgrade i tried yet another thing which is kinda risky and actually turned this same S200 into a brick temporarily. I used the known shelltool_bugfixed application to upgrade to AKU 3.3.13 (extract OS from a complete ROM, then replace the OS file with the AKU 3.3.13 one) and it worked. I tried doing the same with clean1 V2 ROM and it bricked it.
I reflashed the Prophet with an original ROM using the novendor-id RUU, thinking it would never bring it to life, but it did. Also upgraded my SPL to 2.13.0001.
Then i tried upgading to clean1 V2 WM6 rom again (Jesus, stubborn guy) just by simply decompressing the files and running "UPGRADE_ROM.BAT". And it worked.
I was REALLY surprised because i read over and over again about this and i had the idea WM6 needed some special IPL and/or SPL and that my device had to be CID-Unlocked before the upgrade.
These are just a few events of yesterday and today with my Prophet which i wanted to share with you. I still find it unbelievable but here i am, running WM6 and happy as hell with it. WM6 really looks awesome and works a treat

If you dont write IPL/SPL without the right CID, you cant use all WM6 Firmwares ;-)

I wish i could understand that, it would help me figure out what i can use on my CID-Locked Prophet and what i can't... before i brick it for good
As i said above, when i "brought it back to life" with an original JamIN rom, it upgraded the SPL to 2.13.0001 (it was 2.10.0001 previously).

Don't know what your are talking about but all wm6 in this forum gave me no problems when i flashed them. Mine is CID locked G4 from ORANGE. So just try. There are lots of alternatives. All working more or less... Find the one better suits your prophet.

Read what i said in the first post. I know it's a bit confusing, but it says there i have successfully flashed my S200 with WM6 (smart1 V2 ROM).
I was just surprised because with all the spread information around WM6, i thought i needed to downgrade to some "special" IPL/SPL version or that i couldn't flash just because my G4 is CID-Locked.
After all, i can just flash about anything without bricking my S200. The only thing i think would brick it is if i downgraded (somehow) the IPL/SPL. Am i correct?

you can only upgrade IPL & SPL
but you can upgrade and downgrade OS
what I really confused about it, what is the relation between IPL&SPL and OS
as I understand, some OS need newer IPL & SPL

as I noticed, there isn't any relation between IPL/SPL and OS
and upgrading SPL doesn't take any profits

I have SPL 2.21 and can't flash to WM6

Hello everyone,
I'm totally lost in this WM6 upgrade.
I've tried everything but i wont get my MDA Vario to flash with WM6.
My MDA Vario is unlocked (sim and CID) but i can't flash it because of my SPL 2.21????
This is what i have done:
installed button's 1.05 ROM
Download & installed lokiwiz - HTC Wizard Unlocker UPDATE Version 0.2b.
But stil my SPL is at 2.21.
Can someone please help me out here??

Both your IPL and your SPL must be 2.xx and higher. After you flashed to Buttons rom. did you reflash to a higher version after after you unlocked and cid unlocked your phone to make sure both IPL and SPL were 2.xx or higher?

I've followed the tutorial:
16. Watch the rebooting of your PDA, if BOTH IPL and SPL are 1.xx then great. Quite probably your IPL will be 1.xx and your SPL will be 2.xx. Rerun the button 1.05 ROM downgrade a second time and it will become 1.x on both IPL and SPL. You don't need to redo the unlocking.
17. My suggestion, take for what it's worth, is to download and install the T-Mobile 2.26 ROM
This will give you a strong 2.26 IPL and SPL to work with.
My IPL was 1.XX after the 1.05 downgrade, but my SPL was still 2.21 even after the rerun.
I have tried to instal T-Mobile 2.26 rom, but it gave an error.

check if you have G3 or G4 unit

I have a 3G device.

I think that you haven't unlocked the phone properly. Read Dr. P's tutorial about unlocking G3 phones.

if your ipl is 1.05 and your spl is still 2.21...then you need to reflash again so that both ipl and spl are 1.05 before you can proceed. ipl and spl should never be different.

WHen you downgrade to the Button rom, in most cases the IPL will change, but the SPL will not. You then have to downgrade again to get the SPL to get to 1.xx . There have been some cases reported where it takes reflahsing the button rom many times (like 8 times or somesuch) before the SPL will finally come down, but you have to complete this step or you will not be CID Unlocked.
Make sure you have your SD card out when you are flashing as this can cause problems.
Good luck, and sorry, but for those that have run into the stuck SPL there hasn't been a real solution other than keep flashing the button rom until it drops down to 1.xx. After that then the CID unlock will be complete and you can then flash the T-Mobile 2.26 rom (or whatever other 2.xx rom you want).

The Dr. P tutorial specifically says this (just not in those words). It tells you (after the last lokiwiz) to watch your screen and that you most likely will still have an SPL of 2.xx and will need to reflash (most people just don't read this and try to move on). The part of about having to reflash numerous times is new though. I've only heard of it a few times, but if you look at the posts from a month or so agao in the Dr P thread on unlocking you'll see where a few people ran into it and it took numerous flashes to finally get SPL to go to 1.xx.

before wm6 roms, every time there was a new rom for wm5 (molski or faria) you'd always get people in the thread mentioning that their ipl and spl are different. in those threads, the advice has always been to reflash a few extra times too. (I personally haven't had any problems with this...but i think i started my unlocking on a 1.8 us t-mobile rom with xelencin's rom...which had an unlocker built into the rom update package).
anyway, the phone's not bricked or anything, so you just have to keep flashing to get it working...

I've re-flashed 3 times but if i understand correct, than i have to retry flashing until SPL and IPL are the same?

yes. ipl and spl should both drop to 1.05. at that point you can go through the unlock and flash back up.

solution for downgrade the SPL 3.08 for G4 & G3

I may have solution but I'm afraid to post it here, and one has the strength to test it.
it will writ the SPL using pdocwrit;, but I'm afraid cause when read the SPL it will have the same begining of the SPL in nk.nbf but after a while it will have diffreneces, but when I read the SPL using r2sd command it will have the smae SPL in nk.nbf
and I have harmless SPL solution it will have the same version 3.08 but it will be the same as 2.20 if anyone intrested in this please answer me
but he will use it at his own risk, and will not blame me for anything, he might brick his phone.

this will upgrade to version 3.09.
if done succefuly this new 3.09 has the same functions of 2.20 SPL
so if one has unlocked G3 with 3.08 and success to upgrade 3.09 (2.20) please try to unlock CID the device and to install the 2.20
and if it works with G4 device this 3.09 has the same funtions of 2.20 and the device will be again PM300
till working in pdocwrite I hope this will work for now

I put my spalsh screen to make sure that you flash the new SPL
cause it will flash firt SPL then new splash screen and new HTC Logo in order.
did you get any error message? please tell me, what device model you have now?

what is the diference between 2.20 and 3.08,i mean functions?

the functions in 2.20 is for prophet hardware and 3.08 are for charmer hardware and there is of course defference between them
3.09 is for prophet hardware the same as 2.20 and you can stay with it for your prophet

I have not received any mensage of error when flash my device PM320(htc s200) with paradis g4 only it appears to me in boot screen ipl 2.20 and spl 3.08

I have returned to flash my device with paradis g4 and to me it continues appearing spl 3,08 but now my device continues being pm320 tell me a solution if you know it, thanks. I feel my English I am Spanish

paradis i know that 3.08 is spl from charmer,but i don't understand why then someone ported it for prophet?what better i get with charmer spl?and what with prophet 2.20 spl?

problem upgrading kjam to wm6

i have a g3 kjam after flowing the 3 steps
1.installing the rom that downgrade the ipl to 1.00
2.cid unlock
3.installing the rom that changes ipl/spl tp 3.08
any rom that i try to install finshes 100% succsesful
but still boot a wm5 rom with a new icon when starts
any help will be great

Personally, I went from button 1.05 rom to TMobile 2.26 rom to new WM6 rom.
I flashed 3.08 later - as is does not change the O/S - only IPL/SPL. Did not find any benefit to it, so went back down to 2.26
Please note that there are freezing issues if you flash down from 3.08 to 1.05. Apparently the spl can freeze if you do this - and that is a problem. So, to play it safe - do not do that - thanks.
It is always recommended that you flash a solid 2.xx rom such as the TMobile one when going between the different WM6 roms available here - you may want to try that - go down to 2.xx, then upgrade to WM6

I've attached a link to another thread about the freezing issue. Unfortunately, it does not give the answer as to how to fix it. But - should no one else answer on this - I would recommend that you send a private message to senior user "mestrini", and hopefully he can walk you through it.

Well,after downgrading to 1.xx and CID unlocking,its essential to upgrade to ipl/spl 2.xx for upgrade to wm6,its highly recommended to upgrade to 2.xx by flashing the T-mobile 2.26 for a solid base,but,however, you can still even upgrade to wm6 with ipl/spl 3.08.Wm6 works on 2.xx and 3.xx.

I believe your phone is still CID locked,you didn't do the CID unlock method correctly,but you upgraded to ipl/spl 3.08,now you can only CID unlock your phone by downgrading to 1.xx. Yes! SPL freezes if you downgrade to 1.xx from 3.08.So always first downgrade to 2.xx and then to 1.xx.Now I'll advise you to upgrade to IPL/SPL 3.08 again and then try to downgrade to 2.xx by flashing the T-mobile or Wizard_love Rom or official stock Rom of your carrier if other then T-mobile.If succeed to downgrade to 2.xx,only then flash Button's Rom 1.05 to get to 1.xx and apply the lokiwiz02b to CID unlock the phone.After that upgrade to 2.xx by flashing T-mobile 2.26 and upgrade to any wm6 Rom.

Currently i use the RUU_Vox_HTC_WWE_1.34.405.1 and i have follow this thread
to upgrade from SPV650
use CID-Bypass 1.34 and RUU 1.34 to USPL 1.34
upgrade RUU IPL/USPL 1.35 with Vox-IPL-USPL-1.35.patched

I dont know the change between the SPL 1.16 and 1.34/1.35. The patch
method was strictly the same. This is just for people like me who want

It works as long as you don't flash an official ROM. It doesn't really matter which one you use. 1.16 is working perfect on my device, so should these!

1.16 is USPL means software SPL, i also use that to bypass CID and it needs to run everytime whenever you are flashing any ROM.
But my concern is if there is some Hard SPL and i run it on my VOX once, would i need to run USPL/HSPL again whenever i need to flash any ROM or will it work forever so that i can simply flash any ROM without using any SPL further.

If you FLASH uSPL instead of simply patching it through RAM, you will have an SPL that acts HARD until you flash an official ROM as it will overwrite the SPL since it is not a true HardSPL.
Take the same steps to patch uSPL and then instead of flashing your ROM, run FLASH.exe from within the uSPL directory, flash USPL and then flash your unofficial ROM. Patched uSPL will remain on the device and thus it will act as a HardSPL to any unofficial ROM and you will not need to patch SPL every time you flash an unofficial ROM.

Will this USPL allow me to flash an unofficial ROM on my Vox that has got the latest WM6.0 Orange UK ROM on?

Hello, i have an Orange France SPV e650, every time i run sda application unlock thing it says "phone not unlockable" then it says succesfully unlocke, now it wasnt succesfully unlocked cos the flash does not work, stops at 3 percent.... Please help me I really look forward to ROM upgrade.

I can't believe how long it took me to solve this riddle lol. Was trying use Vox USPL- CID BYPASS for 1.16 and just took a lucky guess at using the number that seemed to be shown on the bootloader so often being 1.34 . It's my first time playing with WM HTC devices and it seems it will be smooth sailing from now on .

You have successfully bricked your device - may it rest in peace. The SPL is the part of SW that opens the door to other SW loading. If that does no more work you are lost.
