Restore it with this
I asume u had your deleted rom stored on the harddrive of your pc. Or sd/mmc card etc. You can use the program Filescavenger. to vind it back. File scavenger finds anny form of data back. Even if you formated a compleet disk. So u should be able to find your ROM back without anny probs. You find it back faster if set Filescavenger to find at the specific location Folder eg. You had it stored on. Greetz Ché

Hi,
I had a Magician, now I don't anymore
Fortunately, I have all my contacts backed up on my SD-card. But the question is, how can I extract them to a usable format with just my PC? I would like to insert them into outlook to later be able to transfer them to my other phone. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
found it in search

Thanks, but I've already tried that application on my PC, and it just created an empty subfolder called RestoredFiles, gives me an error message and dies.
I tried it on my PC at work too, same thing. :/
so last night i flashed my hermes to the new wm6 4.0 after performing PIMbackup. only problem is that i backed up my contacts and stuff to my phone and not to my memory card. i did have another PIMbackup file from last week on my memory card which i deleted just before i did this recent backup. is there any way to recover the backup file that i just deleted last night??? im looking around and see there are programs to recover picture files made for digital cameras im looking for something like that but will find other files as well, there has to be a way please someone help!!!
when connected to the pc using a sd reader all pc harddisk undelete tools work on sd cards just as they do harddisks
Yes ! there are certain softwares,e.g "Recover My Files" software and some others likewise, which they claim can recover the deleted items through recycle bin recently and if the Hard disk is not reformatted after it. I'm not sure, how far it's possible or not , as I have not personally used them so far.
There are also some 'Data Recovery' web based services, who get lost or deleted data recovered from Hard disks but you'll have to send your hard disk to them to get the job done, and of course, they'll charge you for that..
Search through 'Google' for data recovery tools and check if it does the job.
Cheers
Recover My Files is a fantastic software....iv used it a couple of times nd it gets out almost all the deleted data....but yea if uv performed a format u might get back only a few files....but no harm in tryin

Resque Pro from sandisk works like a charm.
hello,
i have a backup file on my card. This card is encripted by WM6.0.
But i have to format the PDA, and now when i tried to restore the backup file, it doesn´t work because it was encrypted.
I´ve already put the encripted configuration ON again on my PDA, but still doens´t work,
any help please!
I have Herald with WM6
thanks
Mikas
The 'password' for the encryption on the SD card is generated everytime you format (hardreset) your phone. As such, without backing up the 'password' before you hardreset your password, means you've erased the password and it is unlikely you will be able to use data on the SD card again.
There're currently no brute force software for recovering the data on the SD card encrypted using WM6.
ok.
but how can i backup the "password"? just not to make the same mistake again.
because, i´ve backuped my all system with sprit backup software, and even this file (the backup file) is encrypted.
as far as I can remember, from a microsoft Q & A page, the 'password' is "not easily accessible" on the phone. However, there are only a certain places it can have it stored, which I think if you were to have the sprite backup done, you can have the backup file copied to a PC (must be via activesync) in an unencrypted format. That 'ought' to restore the password. I think. Give it a try and let us know.
i want to do a factory restore on my phone to clean all the unnecessary junk file created before, i am using windows mobile 6.1, htc touch pro, dont know if it matters
i am wondering after i do the restore, do i have to install all my programs again on my storage card or i can just take my storage card out when doing the factory restore and once restore is completed, i can plug in the storage card and use the program with no problem??
i have quite a lot of program on my storage card and i lost those .cab files overtime, dont want to spend time looking for it again.
does anyone know if this will work??
many thanks
it depends. some applications require system files to be installed either in root/program files or in root/windows on your internal storage... so it's hard to tell whether you will lose them or not.
you can list the applications you have installed and i'll tell you what i know.
the one i really want to keep is my GPS, is Garmin and is installed onto the storage card
garmin should have its installation ready in the storage card incase you had to hard reset.
If you purchased garmin, you wouldn't have a problem installing it again and getting the maps
Nir, you get around my friend haha.
@rubbishhk, just a note, when you come to reinstall ur apps, if you dont delete the folders where the programs are installed on your storage card (garmin excepted) you will find u get an error when trying to re-install that program as the files already exist.
Back up ur storage card as it is to ur PC, then delete the program folders. u will then be able to re-install them no probs. Wot i do is save all my cabs in a folder on the storage card, so if i ever have to hard reset, at least i have the cabs saved on my card ready to go.
ps use advanced config and turn off "delete cabs after install" that way they will always stay on r card after u install.

I tried tflo3d and it worked and was kool (obviously jerky still) but lets hope the team find a solution for the 3d driver power off issue.

Is there any way to recover files from a phone that has been flashed? All photo/file restore programs seem only to restore deleted information from memory cards/hard drives. I need to restore some data from my device itself (T-Mobile Dash). Are there any programs out there that will do this?
Thank you in advance for any help...
I really doubt you can recover from a flashed device. Your best bet is to go back to the old rom and then do a full restore with your backup file, which I'm sure that you have. Then copy all the files/reg settings you need to your sd card. Then flash back to the new rom and install the files/reg settings either manually or with sashimi.
Why don't you backup your files and program .cab's before you flash it? That's the smartest way..
no you cant, you should have taken a back up. But after flashing you cannot recover it.
Thanks for the input. I figured so much. I didnt think I had any files I cared about saved directly on the device. Teaches me to backup my files no matter what....

I know about a program that can recover deleted files not only from cd or sm card, but also from other media types. It is called Advanced File Recovery. I hope this program will help you.

That program is for windows and not windows mobile.
As far as i know, there is no way to recover data from a flashed mobile.
