Help! i just purchased IM+ and i didn't receive anything - General Topics

I've been using the IM+ trial for a few days. I liked it so i decided to buy it tonight. I went to the shapeservices page. Then to the im+ link. Then to purchase and buy. I chose the option to pay via paypal. all it said after payment was "thank you for buying our product." it didn't give me a registration code, or a download or anything. It didn't even ask me for my email address. What the hell is going on? i sent them an email but they haven't responded yet. Has anyoen purchased v 4.22 and have any tips for anythign i might have missed. thank you.

It maybe that the Trail does not expire and you already had the 'full' version.

thanks for the idea. unfortunately thats not it. Its not "beggerware." it only lets me do 12 messages per sign in. and then it tells me i cant send anymore because its a trial version

I would assume if you paid by PayPal they already have your email, and to prevent fraud, will validate PayPal transactions *before* giving you a code or full version.
Also, not everyone uses a 24/7 e-payment system that sends codes instantly, there are many small companies and independant developers that process these manually themselves each day, so there could just be a delay.
Try emailing them quoting the email address your PayPal account is registered too.

Selling my HTC Hermes, anyone want my IM+ license for cheapo?

I am going back to a crappo phone and won't need IM+ anymore. I figured someone here might want it at a reduced price.
I have cleared this with mods and e-mailed the kind people at SHAPE Services, and got this response regarding transfer of license.
Hello, David!
Thank you for choosing our software!
We can not help you to re-sell your license code but we can offer you to change the license code for IM+ for your new
device. Just debote the model type and we will send you a new license.
Please infrom us about your decision.
We are waiting for your reply!

I bought it from them for $39.95 so I figure I would offer it up at $25.
As a kind gesture, I'd be happy to e-mail them with your model type to get the new registration code, and give it to you before you send PayPal (I'm pretty skiddish about online payment for electronic services myself).
Just seeing if there is any interest...?
And mods, I did get the OK to put it here in General, but if it is better in Off-Topic, feel free to move the thread.
IM+ License Key
Hey,

Me to the shop again
Hi,
I'm wondering if you have noted my message that i would like to continue with the purchase of the Touch Pro EU version as noted below. Now I find myself missing the payment information, which I am waiting from you to send me. The first contact from you was extremely fasy, which I'm thankful for, but approximately how long it can take to tell me how to pay?
The thing that you don't have option to pay via Credit card is already quite annoying, but even more annoying is to wait for the bank transfer payment information. Nothing personal, I'm just used to that shops would be more eager to get the money from the customers.
Sincerely yours,
XXX

Actually, we have send the payment information to you, the day you reply the
email.
We don't know if you already received it or not.

Hi,
I would really like to buy the phone, but have not received any confirmation? I double checked my spam folder also, nothing in there! I am really serious, as soon as you can provide me with the payment information i would like to purchase the phone.
Because i tried to be the nicest possible to you, i will take all the e-mails, collect a nice package of them and get in contact with your superior. This is not customer service.
You will hear from me, Mr. XXX. Too bad that you werent able to do your job. I will make sure no one will ever buy from your shop again if this harm done by you is not corrected.
Think twice before you fool around like that, WHAT MAKES YOU THINK I WASNT A SERIOUS BUYER?
Sincerely,

I'm glad i never got those payment instructions. who knows where my money could be right now!
And also remember, when ordering from them, you will probably have to pay the toll and VAT at your home country, so it really isn't even that cheap.
OMG
What a clueless webshop contact.
I think you should inform the owner of the shop so you can get this guy fired!
thanks for sharing
Amazing.......
You should copy the web-link from here and send them an email with the details of this post..... not good at all? and "who" pays "bank to bank" only these days - very strange indeed?

I thought to do so, but after doing whois pings on the domain, found out that the website is registered to a person with a same surname than the person answering my e-mail. Family biz.. They can go to hell with their stupid shop, just ordered from expansys.
Sounds very dodgie.... Thanks for sharing....
I bought from highstreet "Kamla" in London on Tottenham Court Road... UK version for £499.
A bit more expensive but from my past experience with HTC P3600 which was quite unstable initially, I thought it's better to buy from a shop where I can go back to if anything goes wrong.
I tell you...that is nuts. I had an issue with the first Touch Pro I ordered. Thank goodness I did it on E-Bay. Paypal refunded my money after my dispute, found another seller, and bought two of them with next day air delivery. Though I had one seller try to mess around with me, money was safe, and still had my Touch Pro within a week of the UK's launch.
Good luck with your next seller.
if it wasn't blindingly obvious to you already:
DON'T PAY BY BANK TRANSFER OR WESTERN UNION.
A merchant who doesn't take cards is generally always a scammer; bank transfers/WU are irreversible, this is precisely why they're required by scammers.
If you want to buy a device, buy it on a card; the price is cheaper than average for a good reason, use your noodle.

CorePlayer Activation

Hi. I was hesitant to have what's probably a silly question be my first post, but, I couldn't find the answer by searching.
I just bought and downloaded CorePlayer for my HD2 and come to find that CoreCodec doesn't automatically provide me with the activation code immediately after completing my purchase. My confirmation email said that I have to email them in order to receive the code. I find this strange, inconvenient, and annoying.
But, since it seems that I have no choice but to wait for them to email me back, I was hoping that one of you would be kind enough to let me know how long it usually takes them to email the activation code back. Thanks in advance!

I got mine immediately!
try emailing them about it, they are usually pretty responsive.
Have to agree with the OP. Paid, downloaded, installed and now waiting, waiting, waiting for the activation code. Sorry, but that'll be my last purchase from CoreCodec . Regret not having gone with Kinoma. Very disappointed with the service which should in fact be totally automated.
Three days after "purchase", and still waiting on my CorePlayer activation code!!!

Wow, this is absolute crap. I emailed them in regards to the activation code just prior to starting this thread, and I've yet to receive a response from them. If anyone besides vovobrewer and I have had this problem with CoreCodec please post your experience in this thread. They may end up stealing my money, but I'll be damned if I don't tell everyone and their mama about it and knock their rep down several notches for doing so! NOTHING WORSE THAN A THIEF, CORECODEC!
Six days after paying for coreplayer and I'm still waiting for an activation key. Emails are getting ignored. Maybe Corecodec have gone belly-up and taken my money with them.
It's not a spam filter type issue on your email?
I got my code within minutes of ordering - the email came from : [email protected]
Finally after 7 days and many emails! And not even the slightest hint of an apology. Spam filter didn't get it, they were just that slow. I'll never buy another Core product or recommend them. I'm so over crap service.

Thats the sad thing, you do the right thing and buy it legitimately and they provide this kind of service. It should have been virtually automatic in supplying you a code.
Is it any wander many just search for a cracked version.

stay away from fastgsm.com

I paid my $20 via paypal. Their automated system happily accepted my payment then promply complained that my (paypal verified) email had not been verified and that I should follow instructions in the email they had sent.
I never received any such email. Not in regular, junk, spamassassin folders. This is my 100% reliable email address that never loses an email. I promply filed a complaint with paypal. Next day their response was that I did not respond to the email (that I never got) so they activated it manually but I have already lost confidence and want my money back. So far they have refused to offer me a refund so I am continuing to fight it on paypal.
My advice is to stay away!
Hi,
1. we do use Google Premium (Paid) services to send out the emails. It is most reliable service in the market.
2. You can any time ask for verification via separate email.
3. We never refuse to make refund if credit not used
Your situation mostly happens when you use stolen PayPal and can not control PayPal primary email. Or maybe you are competitor who try to damage reputation - you have 2 posts only so you do not have any reputation.

guess so.. Wah Wai Electronics or something similar is their paypal name.
To unlock your phone, call your provider customer service and say politely "I would like to have my phone unlocked. Can you please provide me the code?" and viola - you have your code in the mail in about 3-7 days. Even if you are on the contract, they will get it to you in anyway. Use google people.
PS: I unlocked my Nokia while being on the contract, on the 5th month

Doesn't seem like A scam. I've had to work around many scams. He just wants to work directly through paypal without bidding.
He's giving you A great price, so if you like the deal, I would just reply my paypal email and wait for payment. Then your payment is locked in. I'm certain that sharing your paypal email would do zero harm. You can set up invoices on Paypals' site then send it to the given email address.
This issue i see with this is him sending you a payment, you sending out the phone to somewhere in malaysia and as soon as you send the phone out, he rescinds his payment and you are out not only the money but also a phone. I personally say always work within ebay when using eBay. Ebay not only protects the buyer but also protects the seller from scams. New member, no feedback, smells of scam to me, but i overly cautious
Its a scam
It turned out to be a scam. I got a letter from a fake PayPal address saying funds would be transferred to me as soon as I provided tracking. I looked up the email Addy it came from and it's bogus. Thanks for your help guys. Glad I left it on eBay. I'm sure I'll get a decent amount off there.

For posterity's sake: this is the worst advice ever. This is a textbook example of how an ebay/paypal scam works. The buyer has no protection if he goes outside the approved transaction channel, and the seller will post a chargeback once he receives the item. Paypal payments are NOT "locked in."
Also most of these scammers are too stupid to change their email addresses even. Just googling this guy's address you will find scam reports dating back many months. He just tried to scam me on eBay and I googled his address for kicks, just to see how long he'd been around, which is how I ended up at this thread. If you are ever suspicious about anything in life, google it first.
