Upgrade PDAMobiz Customized Rom for all IPL/SPL version - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 Software Upgrading

Note: This is a custom firmware but it is DEFINITELY the best and should have been a company of its own! Damned it isn't. It even lets your mono bluetooth headset listen to music!!!!!
ROM OF THE YEAR!!!
Since HTC issued new IPL/SPL version 2.xx.0001, all tools that we use to cook the customize rom to be a single nk.nbf file can not be used because nk.nbf structure are different from the previous version. We were trying to hard to solve the problem. Futunately, we found the new method that save and convenince, because it will not touch with bootloader. Just active sync prophet with pc then run UPGRADE_ROM.bat.
This method can be used with any version of IPL/SPL of SPV M600, Qtek S200, i-mate JAMin, Dopod 818 Pro, XDA neo. Need not to unlock CID.
DAMobiz Customized Rom can be download from here:
http://files.pdamobiz.com/ROMs/XDA/...n_Upgrade_Rom_for_IPLSPL_2.15.0001_v.1.02.rar
Step by step to upgrade rom
1. Backup all data in Prophet, then hard reset it. You can also use the method of Clear Storage in menu, Start -- Settings -- Clear Storage.
2. After Hard Reset, tap at the screen 1 time, and stop at Align Screen.
3. Plug usb cable at Prophet to start ActiveSync, then click at Cancel.
4. Prophet will connect with PC as Guest.
5. Go back to folder that you unrar (www.rarlab.com) then click at UPGRADE_ROM.bat.
Wait....
Wait.... It's now finished with extended rom, then the next is OS rom.
6. After finish, you may hard reset by press and hold at Camera and Voice Dial, then depress at reset. Still hold camera and voice dail until you get the screen as below:
Press at send to format, then it reboots.
At the buttom left, it shows "PDAMobiz.com" that is pdamobiz customized rom. To get all program of pdamobiz customized rom, you have to let extended rom program install until it complete.
PDAMobiz customized rom has only 3 Thailand operators, you may add your own file before upgrade rom to "extrom" PC folder and autoconfig.txt to have your own country autoconfig.
Plenty of wonderful software, you may see the whole pictcure at: (sorry there is no translation)
http://www.pdamobiz.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=60019
If during upgrading you have some problem, and it stuck at bootloader 3 colors screen. Just download below files, run upgrade rom with that file, after you can boot normally, you can upgrade this customized rom again, becuase this customize rom need active sync only.
http://files.pdamobiz.com/ROMs/XDA/Prophet/RUU_Prophet_2151327_21513121_021921_DOP_ASIA_WWE_Ship.exe
Thank you very much to itsme, the Administrator of http://www.spv-developers.com for his utilities, machinegod for enablerapi, buzz, the Admin of www.buzzdev.net for unlocker of prophet extended rom, RuChonburi for his customized rom.
By the way I make 3 very small utilities, those are sleep4 (wait 4 second), clattr.exe (clear file attribute of \extended_rom) and roattrib.exe (set read only attribute for files in extended rom), to automize the process to 1 click at UPGRADE_ROM.bat
Caution! There are some risks to upgrade rom, please use your own risk, we shall not responsible for any damage.
(TAKEN FROM A SITE CALLLED en.pdamobiz.com who created this ROM! They rock..forget about Imate roms and anything else! )

[Guys n' Gals - I've been asked to pin this. If you feel it doesn't need pinning, PM me. If you feel it's incorrect or misleading, let me know. If you are happy with it, comment below]

1. Anybody tried that on JAMin?
2. Any succes stories on DOWNGRADING back to JAMin Rom after this?
3. Is it FASTER(the overall working process) than latest I-mate's one?
4. Russian dialpad working with this one?
Not before i receive answers to that shall i try this out as if it's no satisfying on 3rd question there's no need in it for me, as i know how to install cabz myself, even though it may not be in 1 click, but since we're out of battery dead-data lost problem it's not a thing to worry anymore, and i cant say if i really need all that bunched into my tiny device.

1. Anybody tried that on JAMin? - YES!! ME!!!
2. Any succes stories on DOWNGRADING back to JAMin Rom after this? - You can never downgrade with Prophet after you hit the version 2.x systme without using 3rd party software roms.
3. Is it FASTER(the overall working process) than latest I-mate's one? - It autostarts with Omap clock at 240 speed and overall its about 3x faster than Imates latest 2.13 rom.
4. Russian dialpad working with this one?
- Yes
5. Note this - Battery Lasts longer (dont know how they did it. but it gave me 7 hours talk time compared to ImateJamins usual 4-5 NON STOP. weird...
More Notes - It has lots of nice software inside and basically makes you feel like its a fully loaded system and yet faster than ALL (Not just the last) Imate JamIn one. If you need my creditibility go to Imate jamin offiucial support forum (clubimate) and see my id shivam / shivamxp. Posted alot there before I dumped the Jamin Rom for this baby!
Not before i receive answers to that shall i try this out as if it's no satisfying on 3rd question there's no need in it for me, as i know how to install cabz myself, even though it may not be in 1 click, but since we're out of battery

ps - forgot to same . the exntended rom is also unlocked by default, a nice set of media players that play almost everything in video n music - mp4, divx ,etc. It has a great file manager. Bluetooth headset can grab any programs music or video whether it be media player or real media or some other program. basically all sound from ur device can get forwarded to ur MONO bluetooth (now even regular bts without stereo can get great sound n music).

Man, i DONT want device to start with omapclock and god, feels like u r so Xcited 'bout this that seems like YOU made this Rom. If there's no rollback, i pass it out.

http://en.pdamobiz.com/en/forum/PDAforum_posts.asp?TID=440&PN=1
are the guys who made it ...PDAMOBIZ...but i used it and was shocked to see it just so d*** good.
Ive used Prophet and seen it suck up as bad as an O2mini (no offence HTC Mag guys)...i used to have a o2mini ..moved to this and definitely both are sucky (speed n feature) just the compactness. Seeing this new rom, everything that made my views so negative are gone EXCEPT i still want a bigger screen the real vga..
anyways, dont install it if you dont wanna...just dont blame me if two weeks later theres a big hype and you say i didnt listen cuz i was too over occupied or wanted to wait...you can wait all you want...you sure wont lose anything..youll just be delaying your gain.
Look im comparing this rom against the current Roms of "Imate" and IMHO this rocks..sure wait as much as you want, but then again a guy who made similar posts earlier (check my post logs) about Imate Software and support on the forums there sucking...well your choice.

heyy shivam, looks promising, but can u possibly upload the rom somewhere? the link u supplied is ridiculously slow (1.3kb/s)
thx
lookin forward to trying this out as im not too impressed with my spv m600 after coming from the great jam

for the person who use XDA Neo, don't use this rom now as before using this rom, it is neccessary to unkock CID first, but the programmer of this rom said that he still haven't known how to unlock CID for device that has IPL 2.15.0001 and SPL 2.15.0001.Fortunately, he said that in a couple days, he will have a solution for this problem (to help you unlock CID) and then you will be able to use this rom on xda neo.
I have not much knowledge about this pda phone. However, I am Thai so that why I can understand all the topic in the original link of this rom. So I just want to translate this point to you guy to prevent you from wasting your time and any harm that might happen to your device.
Anyway, this rom is very good rom, have evreything you want, help your mobile much faster than before, and will help you a lot, so wait until programmer has solution for CID then upload it.

Has anyone with a Qtek S200 tried this?
I want to take the plunge and I have done lots and lots of ROM mods and upgrades to my former Himalaya and a friend's Blue Angel, but I would love to know if there is some way to backup my original ROM beforehand.
Thanks for the find tho!
P.S.- Can someone please upload this ROM to the XDADevs FTP????? the TX is really slooooooooow..... .4 kbps!!!
God bless!
Rayan

Ist it possible not to install some of the included programs ? (like vxutil, Regeditor, CallFilter, image maker, calculator, opera and Realplayer of course ...)
Like deleting them from the extrom before upgrading?
Reason is, that i already use some nice programs that i got used to, and i dont want to waste some extra memory on programs i will most likely not need.
Edit: any way to change the omap clock Startup MHz ?
Greetings

In order to avoid installing any unneeded software on the ExtROM, just Soft Reset just before they install after a Hard Reset.
Then you should go to the extended rom and manually install whatever apps you want by clicking on them.
Do you already downloaded this rom?
Can you please Upload it to the xda developers ftp?
That would be great...
Thanks!
Rayan

@Rayan - i know how to avoid installing the extrom - i was wondering if some of the programs are included in the normal rom.
Didn't download it yet - i will wait for some more experiences

Thanks for the upload matey.

Howdy Boys and Girls
Well I took the leap and installed the Rom described here, on a new Imate Jamin I bought last week down here in Australia.
The existing Rom on the Jamin was the latest from the Imate website.
"JAMin_WWE_213923_2139123_022021_ship"
First of all let me say that after upgrading to the Pdamobiz version, I was able to restore the Rom back to the original Imate version.
That should answer the questions of a few wondering if it's not all it's made out to be you can always go back to what you had.
Onto the new Rom.
The Jamin I have according to Omapclock runs at 180Mhz. With this Rom it was running at 240Mhz and I can tell you now this Rom is SLOW, very SLOW. With the original Imate Rom installed clocked to 240Mhz it screams along very nicely.
Some of the Apps installed with this Rom are also commercial versions requiring purchasing or "other ways around purchasing".
In fact come to think of it most of the apps were pretty ****ty and neither here nor there. Just my opinion expressed here.
Ultimately it's up to the individual preferences here and I'm certainly not taking anything away from the people who spent the time putting it together. It's a good effort.
In the end I installed it ... had a play with it for an hour or so ... dumped the Rom onto an SD card and restored the orginal Rom.
When I get around to it I'll install a few of the goodies like the A2DP stereo audio and the Extended Rom patch. They work
Thanks to original poster for making this Rom available in the first place and the guys who put it together.
Now it's up to you
Regards to all

Thanks for the info, Nudester. I was about to install this one on my XDA Neo (running JAMin on it now), but stopped after I read your post. Also, I do not like the application programs in that ROM, too, since I have purchased much better programs already. Your info is very helpful. thanks.

Thanks lvlx!
I'll DL tonite!
Peace!

ok, i installed this (thx lvlx for the upload, that link was just agrhhhhhhh ), and for the most part, i agree with nudester. speed is ok, althought i was getting better/more stable operation with the latest dopod rom on which it is based when overclocked with omap clock. a lot of the utilities are on the rom, and not the extended rom which means u cant remove them, and to be honest, most are overkill, like the are about 4 different sim utilities, nevertheless, some are pretty damn good. however i just dont like havin stuff that i dont need/use.
PROS:
decent rom (stable and quick)
loads of cool utilities
downgradeable
good with storage memory
pre-configured with most of the registry edits for speed, gps, etc....
CONS:
some utilities/programs are trials/unregestered
most utilities/programs are built into the rom
overkill, i mean why do u need all that stuff anyways?
---did i keep it? -----> NO
id rather have a clean oem rom that id play with myself and install what i want.
fair play to the guys at pdamobiz.com for creating it, coz it is good, and it gave me a lot of ideas, but it just wasnt my cup of tea 8)

Hello Every One,
I installed the ROM and agree with Nudester. Please Nudester tell me how to go back and load my original imate JAMIN ROM.

Video Calling doesn't work (im working on this - thanks bepe)
In REALvga mode (addon cab) if you have owner information or password set to display on boot then you will hang your device, hard reset needed. im stuck as to what is causing this, anyone got any ideas?
Occasionally after flashing the phone will reset into bootloader - not load OS. a quick "set 14 0" in mtty fixes this (again anyone got any ideas?)

Why do I only get 26 of free mem?
Extended Rom is seen as a drive and Outlook use it to store mail attachment (impossible to change the storage used) For other office program you can use SD CARD.
And it's impossible to hide Extended Rom
So I use an empty extended Rom
I'm having issues to flash this rom.
When I click "Upgrade" button, my uni reboot, and i can't upgrade it.
symbol no more works
poussin69: if im not mistaken i set extrom to install from /storage card/extrom (sorry i forgot to mention that) i've only recently got my uni so i though /storage for attachments was normal, ill look into changing it for you
Also what is symbol?
ZeD:
1) are you connected via a hub? this is bad.
2) try putting in bootloader mode first
3) did you included RUU.conf?
4) no idea sorry
you have a sym.txt file in windows directory so, when you type
a and use the "sym key" you will switch to à
e to é è ê .....
it was working with WM5
(I change the keyboard country to french as usual (azerty keyboard))

Post install script

Is there instructions on creating a post-flash (or hard reset) install script? I'd like to have it run the cingular WAP cab, and maybe a couple others. I think I've been all over, but haven't seen anything...
Thanks!
Also - does anyone have a package or cab for camera 3.3???
Hi Matt... there are a couple of options...
First off, you could go the route that Faria does in his kitchen - effectively an Extended ROM folder under Windows. When the ROM install has finished and you've done the screen align, it runs the Extended ROM contents - just like the customisations you get in most operator ROMs. The advantage of doing it from a subfolder under Windows is that it works for G4 users as well as G3.
The other alternative is to actually flash your Extended ROM (this is what I've done, as mine is G3).
With the right files in Windows and Windows\Startup (CheckAutoRun.exe and CheckAutoRun.lnk respectively) and the registry entries set up for the appropriate location (I can tell you what these need to be), it will run no problem.
Is this what you're looking for? Faria also has a nice couple of utils that run during customisation and let you choose which operator's settings (GPRS and MMS) you wish to install. I guess these just run the appropriate CAB file based on your choice.
I am happy to help you set this up if it would be of assistance, having spent the last couple of days trying to get all this stuff up and running.

It sounds like your first point is what I was looking for - but up till now I've avoided adding / manipulating the extended rom to prevent issues related to it's use. I guess I'll have to cross that bridge sooner than later!
Is there a "howto" anywhere on it? I'd like to add the option for users to select post installation packages to run, in a nice and "foolproof" way - such as themes, WAP cabs, or whatever. Kinda like "drop your post install cabs in this folder" and it'll go ahead and add them during the rom build, then execute the install after flashing.
Thanks!

try this of course editing it to where you want it to point:

"AutoRun"="\\Extended_ROM\\autorun.exe"

I just found this link that has an extended rom in it. It makes a lot of sense, especially the txt file that directs the installation and then initiates a reset. Getting warmer!
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=309922
So here's what I'm thinking - just initial thoughts:
Have a folder with the base applications that are used every time like AutoRun.exe.
The user places the cab(s) in the "add files to ext rom" folder.
They run an exe that reads the directory file contents, verifies file type, copies the files to the extended rom folder, and displays the list. I'd write it in VB, since I'm most comfortable with file system operations in that language...
They change the list based on the order they want them installed using up and down arrows to sort priority.
The click OK, and it creates the config.txt file, including all necessary commands such as reset and whatnot.
That way when they build, it's all good to go.
Any thoughts?
Slightly off topic but does anyone have a .CAB for TomTom6 (or know how to edit/make one) that doesn't require user input during the installation?
I am not looking for a hacked version of TomTom, just how to prevent it asking me where to install. .CABs that run from the Extended ROM can't ask for user input or it will crash the extended ROM installation as we know; I just don't know how to edit the ttn.cab to stop it asking.
Thanks
Andy
Hi Matt,
It does sound like the first option is the best - it's also the only way to get G4 compatibility. I think your idea to write a VB app is a good one - let the user choose which CABs to install to ExtRom, but I think u need to be very clear what you want to achieve. As this `ExtRom` is not actually in the proper extended Rom, but just a folder under Windows, you gain nothing really by installing programs from here, best just keeping it for operator specific settings and such.
The other issue with extended Rom installations, of any type, is that the config file must run to completion. if you put in cab files that require user input, the install will fail (at least from a proper extRom, maybe ok in this scenario, I don't know); likewise cabs that require or initiate a soft reset will cause an ExtRom install to crash. So, this sorts of limits what cabs can be used. mine puts in personal reg settings; no operator settings as I use wifi not gprs or mms.
Also - and I hope I'm not out of line here, or misunderstanding you - Faria has something that does exactly what u need in his fake ExtRom... u cld always ask him nicely for use of it, or r u looking forward to the coding?
My only other thought is the extra support burden a complex fake extrom scenario would generate, especially if ppl don't understand its purpose and stick stuff in that causes problems...
I hope this has made some sense - past my bedtime and I'm knackered LOL. Just my 2 cents, y'know?
Good work and all the best

That's really good info, because I'm climbing the learning curve as fast as I can here to get a good grasp on what the extended rom is, as well as how to use it. I appreciate the conditional warnings... better to know ahead of time than find out following a problem.
I'd rather use the true extended rom (as I understand it anyway), so I don't loose any additional space for the BuildOS programs. That is, assuming the extended rom is a seperate memory location than the base...
In another thread, someone is going to post that tool. I'm really interested in how it works.
If I can get all the concepts together, I hope to get a solid tool that will improve functionality in the ROM, without adding complexity or trouble... and I greatly appreciate the help!
Interesting thread...guys, you just gave me some new ideas.
Before that...there's one thing that's bothering me...
Can we use ExtendedRom on a G4 or not...lol I thought not, until me an Boto made a clean one from a G4 ExtRom and when Boto flashed it it worked , and he has a G4. Why we always say that we don't use an Extended Rom for G4 users ?
Normaly, a G4 should/would brick when flashing IPL/SPL not Extended Rom, am I right ?
We are shrinking the OS space to integrate features of the ExtendedRom in order to all people use it but is it that true ?
Ok, now back to my idea .. I want that in my next rom to include an extended rom, of course and make it that way so when you first start your PDA, it will act like when installing windows on the PC , asking you which apps or what options you want to use. I think i can manage to do that...still the question remains ...will G4 users be able to use it ?
Sorry for the delay writing back... I've been over in the G4 subforum trying to find out if they can flash Extended Rom. Some ppl have reported success using Faria's tutorial. Hopefully this is the case - what u said about IPL/SPL flashing is right, this seems to be a real problem, but if u can flash a radio-only Rom, why not Extended Rom?
What did u and Boto flash onto his G4? Blank Extrom or a cooked one?
Perhaps what we need is a guinea pig to try this out for us...!

I took the Ext Rom from the Wizard Love Rom and i edited the config.txt and deleted cabs ...that's it
Well, if it flashed OK... sounds like it might be usable after all But tell me, is Boto's G4 CID locked or unlocked? It's all very uncertain, but some of the G4 posts lead me to believe this may make a difference

Thanks

All I did for TomTom is install as normal and then copy the Navigator directory and My Documents\TomTomto my storage card where the maps, postcodes etc. are located. After any ROM upgrade all I need to do is create a shortcut in the start menu pointing at \Storage Card\Navigator\TomTom Navigator.exe No user input needed other than to pair the bluetooth gps and define a serial port.Hope this helps, it has worked for me after every change in ROM which has been quite a lot recently.

Thanks for that but it isn't what I was really after.... I am just trying to automate everything. I have flashed my ROM that many times recently and going through the install of TomTom each time is a bit of a pain. I have got a couple of .CABs in the Extended ROM OK and these work fine, I just thought it would be nice if I could get TomTom in there as well.

I didn't want this to turn into a "how-to" thread, but I'm still scratching for hard info on the extended rom, and as many questions out there, it might be a good one to clarify some details...
As I understand it now, there's two forms of "extended ROM":
1. The true extended rom "similar to the radio ROM"
There is some "trigger" that runs the contents of the extended rom, such as AutoRun.exe?
2. The 'psuedo' extended rom that is basically a post install script to run cabs.
The contents of the folder under windows are run from a trigger that resides in the startup folder - similar to a runonce in Windows on first boot?
Does this sound close?
Also, where does the 'true' extended rom reside? Does it use the portion of memory reserved for the OS, or is there another portion just for it? (so if by adding applications to the extended rom, your available storage memory will remain unchanged - less the installed application?)
I'm presuming then by the 'psuedo' extended rom, that it does consume ROM space, but simplifies post-flash cab installations - assuming you follow the rules...
From what I see, by using the 'psuedo' ER, you waste space by keeping the installation files in addition to the installed application files.
If I'm wasting space and time by asking these questions and you know of a good extended rom tutorial, please direct me to it. I have spend some time tonight searching, but a definitive guide still eludes me... Thanks!

I noticed a lot of new Roms thanks to everyone working on them
but I think they are a little bit slow useless funtions for a lot of prophet users.
this ROM is old but good and fast.
if you want last Official please test this one
please don't judge it from the first day
and sorry for your time if you find it useless.
I recommend or you have to update IPL SPL 2.20 for g3 & g4, ask me for them I can tell you where to get them.
Releas notes:
based on PRO_DT_WWE_220734_2207114_026121_Ship.exe and only few changes:
1- new HTC Logo, please leave it if you like my ROM
2- new Radio 2.69.21, I think it's the best please leave it
3- Extension Rom the same files only edited Config.txt:
I only removed PP_QtekTsk.CAB, PP_Qtek_pIEsetting.CAB, PP_OperatorName.CAB from Config.txt but the files still in the Extension Rom
4- OS, I only changed:
6mb page pool size, you will have total memory 50.03 mb and free moemory more than 31mb free if no prgrams installed, if you need 52mb total try 4mb page pool, you may change the pool using the patches down!
set securty to lowest level, maybe risky for beginners but I think it is better, all ROMs now have low security, just be careful from Viruses.
the camera will work if the bettary less than 10%, and updated the driver s5k3bafx as file not module, this is the only hardware I updated, still bad, but better, you may over clock to 240mhz using Omapclock.exe to get 4 useless fps instead of 3 stupid fps in low lights, stupid Samsung s5k3bafx Chip, we have been scammed as 2 mp camera
bluetooth support a2dp (aku3.3) without any instalation, (I added FTp support for bluetooth then removed it, some bugs with this AKU I don't know why)
added some useful free programs: taskmgr 2.7, wm5torage 1.75, Dr-yar 1.6 (only the exe)
Added Omapclock.exe OmapScaler.exe without shortcuts, you can find them in the windows folder, use at your own risk, risky programs but useful sometimes
I added my network name syriatel, it sucks our bloods with its high prices, it is the only network in Syria (the same patners of the other one spacetel) they are the real thieves and scammers, but in lawful ways, all companies are the same
I think this Rom is bug free based on last official qtek AKU 2.2 hope you like it
just wish me the best of luck if you like it, and forgive me if you find it useless
I did this in less than 1 hour just for whom like official clean ROMs.

Ok you say its bugfree, so why stuck my prophet in bootloader after downgrading from PDAVIET WM6 and hardreseting of course?
Maybe i am full of bugs and thats the reason, but believe me this is not the first down- or upgrade i did. AAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrr...

dear ccccccc00000000333333330000000
and hardreseting of course? =====> you don't need to hard rest it will hard rest automaticly after the downgrade
you are not full of bugs, I did this ROM while I'm drunk alot of ARAK, but I test it with my prophrt and it works 3 days now without any bug
but it is great to have this first bug, cause the ROM will not work and there is no second bug
Downgrade from WM6 PDAViet 4.0.0.0.1 doesn`t work.
Upgrade from RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID doesn`t work.
Upgrade stop at 85 %.
dear walter you have to wait at 85% and 100% a few minutes
I try it from pdavit 4.0.0.1 and it worked, I think I'm still drunk
I get stuck @ 85% always, it just keep tell "error" each time I do it... and now how do I resolve this??
EDIT: Well I made it with Jester´s one... but still can´t go on with yours
ok I think there is a problem, the rom works fine with me, why this happened to you?
did use winrar 3.7 to extract the files?
did you use ROMUpdateUtility_NV_G3.exe or ROMUpdateUtility_NV_G4.exe
Nrcc: to fix your problem try RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID
I'm pretty sure the ROM works fine on my device, please can some one tell me the crc32 of the files, just open winrar and you will find CRC32
if someone can calculate the crc32 for the file paradis.rar it must be C6A0B6EA
and the nk.nbf inside paradis must be 4BA70074
walter79 please try tp replace nk.nbf from RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_NVID with nk.nbf from paradis.rar
paradis_pal - I'd like to try your ROM sounds really great, but after 2 successful downloads from Rapidshare, I am unable to open the archive.
Any chance that you may be able to post (repost) another archive?
Thanks...
PS: the CRC is C6A0B6EA
thanks Jeff
try winrar 3.7 or free program 7zip, it is 7-zip archive
Paradis_pal: Thanks, didn't think of another archiver, to me a rar is for winrar... 7-zip worked like a charm.
I'll let you know how things advance.
paradise_pal: I get to see your nice little bootscreen and then it goes directly into the bootloader again, so no chance to test out your ROM. And YES I HARD reset my G3 and I still come up with this again... Since I was already in bootloader mode therefore I reflashed it again - SAME thing.
I even used the OFFICIAL NVID EXE with your NBF and still a problem... sorry dude, no dice.
it is too odd, it works with me why?
what SPL you have, 2.20 if not update to 2.20
did unlock your CID if you have a G3 device please unlock your CID, it is for you not for the ROM
I have nothing to improve, it works with me, I can't see where is the problem
That errors (stop at 85% when you upgrade) is just what is supost to ocure... Because you have SPL 3.08!!....
When I get home later, I´ll try and see what happens; last night I went bed about 4:30am trying to find where the problme was

strange why the rom works with me
Patched+RE-Flashed=SAME problem...
I am on a 2.20 SPL and my G3 is unlocked, could it be some ingredients when you were cooking it up? I think you may need to try to recook your ROM, I am no expert, I just know that it ain't workin' fo' me (apparently no one else either).
Keep it up...
strange you patch it how, the file still 0 views why this happening to me
strange you patch it how, the file still 0 views
I didn't cook a rom, only few changes, if someone can help me why the ROM works in my device and dosn'e work in others please someone help
ps, this is not the only ROM I cooked, I cooked alot and make a lot of changes to WM5 and WM6 for my needs and changes a lot of files and registry and add notifactions and more, I made this one for all, I'm still needing help why this works on my device and doesn't work in others??????????????

[PreRelease BigStorage] Just2Clean and Two New Kitchen [Updated:04.22.08]

Update: 04/22/08
This is a release for the ROM and the porting kitchen. It does not port XIP's, yet, just SYS folders, but it does what it needs to do. I haven't tested it in more than just one port, though. The one I did test came out perfect, though.
The ROM has 63.XXmb FREE storage and 31.XXmb free with SD RAM.
To flash it you MUST have a HardSPL'ed Herald or Wing and a microSD card. Just place the HERAIMG.nbh into the SD card's root directory. Do NOT rename it to anything else. Then hold the camera button down while you turn on the device and then press the volume down slider when it asks you to. Wait until it says it's done. I haven't tried to run any activesync other than to an exchange server so tell me if that isn't working.
I'll be done with finals this week and then I can finally work on the other kitchen.
I'll upload it when I come back from school.
Update #2: 04/14/08
Just added a screenshot. Mind you, this is WITH SD card AND after I installed my "troubleshooting" tools.
Update: 04/14/08
60mb of FREE storage space.
32mb RAM with no SD
30MB RAM with SD
No compression (I'll probably released a UPX'd version, as well...)
Fixed all bugs found so far except for two. Maybe you guys can help me figure them out... the sad part, I've fixed these same two bugs countless times in my other ROMs, but I just can't remember how I did it. lol
1. Comm Manager: It doesn't matter what comm manager I place in there, it still boots up the built in comm manager. (The one that Tmobile has anyways.)
2. The Vibrate button. I have all the files and I have it setup so that it vibrates when you hold down the comm button, BUT it keeps trying to open VoiceCMD even though I deleted all visible entries for it...
Update: 04/03/08
Ok guys. Here's some info on my current projects.
1. Just2Clean is almost done. I just have to fix some bugs. The OEM is from an unreleased Wing ROM, the SYS I ported over using... well keep reading.
2. My phone currently is running currently has 62.38mb total of storage... and I was able to shrink the extrom and use that ROM space for storage. Granted, you need to have HardSPL and a memory card for this to work, but it's awesome. This ROM is also so small and stripped that it's the fastest ROM I've ever used and I don't even have any tweaks on it, yet.
3. Kitchen 1: PPCBuildOS: Unfortunately, I haven't had time to work on porting it, but after I get Just2Clean fixed, I'll be working on it. AWESOME kitchen. The creator is so willing to help, too. Made me a developer of the Atlas section (Herald compatible so no worries for those Herald users.)
4. EasyPortKitchen. So far, I've got it porting SYS folders just fine. I haven't been able to setup XIP porting, but that's because I still don't understand the process behind it. If someone wants to explain it to me, I'll be able to finish this kitchen. So far, Just2Clean had its SYS folder ported in this way.
EDIT: 5: I plan to release the ROM with language packs for the kitchen. Then you can just check on the language you want the ROM to be in while building the ROM.
New Post
Ok, change of plans.... I'm currently working with the makers of PPCBuildOS to make an Atlas/Herald version of their kitchen. It's currently being developed with JustClean, but it will eventually be released with my Just2Clean. (That'll be the new name.) That kitchen is AWESOME, btw. ^_^ Makes my kitchen look like a pitiful script kiddy toy.
Just2Clean will be a WM6.1 stripped down better than JustClean was, more modulized and with its OEM based on an unreleased ROM.
I'll keep you guys posted but I'm not sure of how much I can talk about now that I'm helping develop the Atlas/Herald side of it...
Old Post
A few things that I've been thinking about on my "off" time... basically, the time that I'm just unbusy enough to have my own personal thoughts outside of work or school related ones. lol
All these ROMs would be compatible with my kitchen.
1. SuperClean - A ROM built with lots of compression and minimal programs. The point of this is to be the "bigstorage rom" where you can't even flash it normally because it doesn't meet the size requirements of the RUU/SPL.
2. JustClean2 - Based on an unreleased OEM from an unreleased ROM that I made before I switched to WM6.1. It's based on a Wing ROM... but it has potentials. It just feels faster and it seems to take less space than the current Herald base I'm using. Not to mention that some people are having issues with Herald based ROMs and some bluetooth enabled items.
3. OldClean/NewClean - SuperClean and JustClean2 may have both WM6.0 and WM6.1 versions... I find that, although WM6.0 is slower, it also takes up less space (and therefore can net more storage space) and some people don't seem to like a lot of the WM6.1 features.
What do you guys think? Which would you like to see first? If any? Any better ideas? (And no, no ideas about which programs should be in it, you already have my kitchen for that.) Oh, and the kitchen would become modular, the JustClean1 ROM would be released seperate from the Kitchen.
I'm itching for a ROM as quick as my old WM6.0 ROM, but I haven't had as much luck getting the Herald ROM to run as quickly.
BTW, has anyone ever used my old CleanROM with the Herald keyboard driver? Did you ever have any issues with it?
I vote for a newer WM6.1 built than the "old" 19xxx - there were newer ones outside before bepes kitchen ROM but thy had ActiveSync problems...
Maybe now there are new builts.
OR if not i vote for WM7...hahaha
ALLL the "clean" crap doesn´t make sence to me... why to have a clean rom and then install all by cab.
I ONLY cooked a rom because i was sick of installing all cabs
lol
Good to see ur back to cooking roms
Well i Love the functions of WM6.1 so just about and clean 6.1 rom you cook will be great
so i'd guess from ur descriptions that'd be SuperClean...
Edit: I also use the Office suit a lot but i can add that by a cab, since i know most clean roms dont have it since it takes quite a bit of space

These ROMs are meant to be used with my kitchen. That way they can add what they want and what they want only. Some people just don't use any programs and want the available storage space for other reasons. (Like photos.)
The SuperClean would attempt to create a lot more free space in the ROM. (For example, I have 54.93mb total (I've got a few files saved so I'm not sure how much I had free at first) currently in the ROM I'm currently using and it's no where near optimized and it's one of my fattest unreleased "SuperClean" ROM's that I have ever made.
Imagine being able to get 60mb free WITH all the apps that you use. It would be awesome.
Well at the moment i have a 4GB Memory Card, but reguardless i preffer to use cean roms as they tend to be faster and have more program memory available.
Especially since i use Point UI and dont rly care about today plugins
I vote for just a 6.1 Rom w/ good tweaks (and ready to go for tmo usa) and no extra programs.

And THAT is the problem ... even with 63MB program storage... we will NEVER get more than 32MB free RAM (memory)
to get more storage for apps or even cach is not the problem. BUT getting more RAM is not possible.
But as a clean rom for cooking - OK
but then:
- no skinning
- default looking
- only left what is needed for running system (phone, base apps)
and than we can cook....
thx
AND why don´t we have this OS "System 5.2.19202 (build 19202.1.0.0)"????

I'm currently learning how to port properly for that specific reason. 19202.1.0.0.
As far as the skinning goes, the final should have the option to have no skin. I'll work on that. The base should have a few things disabled. I'm also working on that. As far as RAM goes, I've gotten up to 38mb free before, but it was missing a lot of items... I could always just modulize the whole ROM and let people choose EVERYTHING down to if they want bluetooth support or not. This can net some pretty nice amounts of free memory. It's just more work for me.
I am also thinking of modulizing the MUI's in the ROM, effectively allowing people to just download language packs. Doubleclick on the file, wait until it does its thing and then you have a French ROM, or a German ROM, or whatever...
It's not that I can't do it, it's that it takes time.... time I don't have.

It seems to me that the 6.1 ROM is a bit faster when doing some things (like opening the windows folder using total commander) is involved - but I think the 6.0 can be tweaked to be just as fast? I would be very excited to try either your SuperClean or JustClean2 as long as the ROM is based on Wing.
I used your CleanROM for quite a while with NO problems but on a Wing.

^_^ Makes my kitchen look like a pitiful script kiddy toy.

yay new kitchen!
wow, can't wait to try the superclean (superfast???) rom
Let us script kiddies get our toys!
Updates on the first page!
So it will come with the same kitchen like JustClean?
62 megs...sounds cool. I hope it will be possible to stuff the rom with office etc. and flash it as usual.
Not with the same kitchen. With a new GUI kitchen that the guys at PPCkitchen.org have made for other phones. I'm just helping them port it to the Herald/Atlas.
The EasyPortKitchen is something you would use to port a ROM.
You can install anything you want on it. All my ROMs are always minimal and allow you to install whatever you want on them.

That's the best of your releases. Just a clean package so everyone can add what he needs, noone has to have stuff on their phone that they don't like. It's simply a Good Thing (tm).

Damsel in distress (or: idiot gir doesn't know how to ROM)

Hey,
I just got my (Orange UK) TYTN II. The Orange setup is downright HORRIBLE. The thing doesn't move, and their home screen really stinks.
I really need to flash the ROM. I read many topics and stickies here (such as Kaiser ROM_Flashing FAQ and SPL Questions, but I feel like I'm still missing things. As this is my 1st time ever - I'm afraid I'll brick it. I really need your help guys.
I'm undecided between using an official ROM (which one?), using NoThrills_WM61_WWE_V3 or RUU_Kaiser_HTC_WWE_3.28.405.0_radio_sign_25.83.40.02_1.65.16.25_Ship . What I need is a solid, dependable PDA/Phone/mobile desktop replacement. I'm not planning on gaming etc so graphics speed (while nice) is not all important.
Which one of these ROMs or other do you recommend?
Let's assume i use NoThrills_WM61_WWE_V3 (my current favorite). Would it (or the ROM you recommend) work on the Orange TYTN II?
I never connected the unit to my PC yet, or installed anything on it. Before flashing should i install ActiveSync or anything else on my PC, or just connect HTC to USB and go?
The way I see it, these are the steps for flashing. Did I miss anything?
Take out my SD card.
Connect HTC to computer using USB cable
Run kaiser-HardSPL.exe on desktop PC
Follow on-screen instructions for installing kaiser-HardSPL.exe onto the device.
Now that HardSPL is installed on device, copy NoThrills_WM61_WWE_V3.exe (or other ROM) to my desktop PC and run it from there, following instructions.
That's all.
Will installing kaiser-HardSPL.exe automatically remove the Orange CID-Lock, or do i have to do anything else?
To install the ROM, do I need to use HTC_ROM_TOOL.exe, or any other tool, or just work using the steps above?
Does the RUU...exe run on the desktop, or should i run it on the device?
If i brick it, is this reversible (by me or by a lab)?
I hate sending the "damsel in distress" thing - but this is just how i feel now. Would REALLY appreciate your help.

Here is what I would do.
Since you already spent what it looks like some time trying to flash your device. I will give you a couple of hints.
First I would flash to Jockys1.1 HardSPL. http://www.4shared.com/file/46447471/7ae96b57/Jockyw2001_HardSPL_-_SuperCID.html
This will allow you to CID unlock your device really easily.
To install HardSPL do this.
1.) connect your device to you PC
2.) Copy the JumpSPL.exe to your main memory of your device. Remove any SD card you may have
3.) run the jumpspl.exe to your device. Hit continue. It will go to the bootloader (tri-color screen)
4.) When you device says USB at the bottom, unplug the USB cord from the phone and wait 10 seconds.
5.) Reconnect the phone to the PC. Run the HardSPL
It should flash really quickly.
Next to security unlock / CID unlock your device.
Follow the instructions that came with the download. Its a real simple process. Be sure that you read all instructions to a T.
Check this thread if you run into any problems. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=361236
Happy flashing.
Ok, I'll bite...
You are definetly reading the right stuff, but I'll be honest, things have changed and evolved here (with all the new SPL's and stuff) so even for me that did hardspl back in December when I got my Tilt, I was a bit overwhelmed when I got my new replacement Tilt last week and had to start looking at doing this all again. So let me try to step you through what I just recently did and has worked for me. Remember, YMMV...
* First, I opted to go with Olipro's CID/SIM Unlocker this time:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=375583&highlight=supercid
A bonus here is that it also does Security unlock now, so its an all in one tool, and the GUI interface that Olipro put together makes this really simple and pretty flawless (just read and follow the steps in the thread and read and follow everything your PC and Phone tell you to do).
* At this point you are now unlocked and ready to start your life of flashing and tweaking. (Unless you are really strong, be prepared to become addicted to trying to find the "perfect" rom ). I personally opted not to do one of the 3.x SPL's yet. Personally I've never seen the hesitation that so many complain about. I may still look at doing this to see if something improves, but for me I haven't found it necessary. But if you want to do that, do it now.
* Now hard reset your phone (good practice and I tend to do this a lot to make sure its nice and clean before AND after I flash a custom rom). Either use the Clear Storage icon in your Settings area, or hold down the two soft keys while hitting the soft reset button at the bottom. Note holding down the soft keys way can be tricky if you have big fingers like me, so I usually go the Clear Storage method.
* Now go get the rom of your choice. I would personally recommend either L26 V5, L26 V9, or Garmin DK1.2 (I'm still on Garmin DK1 and loving it but will probably move to 1.2 soon). I've found all 4 of these to be very stable ROMs (My phone is important to me for work, so stability is a must, and I can't put up with a bunch of bugs that people tend to avoid or live with in some custom roms). But the rom you choose is really a personal choice for you. What I like may be very different than what you like. So read the threads and try to find one that fits your style. (NOTE: This may be terrible for some to hear, but while I love what Garmin did with his roms and the extra work he put into it, the custom icons are a little over the top for my taste (they are wonderful, but I've used Win Mobile too long and find it hard to find things). So I pulled out the custom icons (search his thread for my post on how I did this if you want).
Honestly thats really all there is. Once you complete the Olipro CID/SIM unlock, your phone is going to be very hard to brick by just flashing roms, and the security unlock on it should (SHOULD) save you from nasty radios that come out trying to lock you to them.
Good luck and welcome to XDA...
hard SPL is the Key (instructions above), also make sure you flash a new radio if you want to use a new rom, Death V4, L26 V9, and Garmin are good, if you want to try a really cool total makeover checkout Gullum Throttle Multilanguage

Everything Alltheway and Mfrazz said, but Yes you should have Activesync installed first. Right now I'm on
"[July 11] HyperDragon III WM6.1 WWE ROM 19588 - 19591 - 19915 (Diamond & Xperia ROM)"
but I've tried many of the available ROM's and most have something good to offer. Just keep trying until you find one that works for you. and pay attention to the radio and SPL recommended for the rom you use.
You posted the same speel here...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=379411

Read, more and you will find everything to know about flashing ROM's and what advantages and disadvantages they have.
Hi, in regards to the rom you choose, it's tough for anyone to answer for you. You may find it's even tough for you to choose on your own. The main thing comes down to knowledge i guess. You mentioned that you want stable...well, while most roms are fairly stable, some of the "special features" can cause instability elsewhere. Not sure how much background you may or may not have but with no knowledge of how to remedy such problems, this might prove to be a headache to get some bonus bells and whistles. On the flip side...light roms often tend to be more stable, however, you will have to spend the time seeking out and loading up the things you want. This is nice in the respect that you get exactly what you want. In the end...the real key is trial and error though.
I've tried a good portion of the roms floating around and all of the current:
If stability is your main concern right now, I'd say one of the ROMeOS roms....they seem to be rock solid and fast enough. Not really any incompatibility to speak of as far as I found (or read). However, you will most likely want to add to it as only the primary apps are included.
If special features and tons of software that you may or may not use are your thing than pretty much any of the others will suffice as they are all pretty good at this point. Just remember though, you may find some unfamiliar territory.
Personally, I like to break and fix things so I jump around a bit. But in the end, when I'm not in the mood to play, I tend to choose a stable / light rom and customize it to my preference or completely rebuild it to meet my day to day needs.
In the end, it's all trial and error to see what suits you best....keeping that in mind, you may want to look into UC (User Customization) or Sashimi. These are autmated installers that will speed up the trial and error.
Something to keep in mind though (if you are new to WM). While WM isn't much out of the box, it can virtually be anything you want it to be. However, it will require a little time and effort on your part.
Oh...and please, please, please never ask how to change time format. I swear this must be the most commonly asked question on XDA. Sometimes feels like a thousand times a day or in a single thread. (If you don't believe me, search one of the L26 Rom threads =) ). If you come across this stumbling block, here's a hint: on the time format picker, although WM only ever shows two options on screen at once, you can scroll up and down. All common format ARE included. TBH: I don't know how people don't see this one on their own before even posting despite the millions of times it's been answered here
