Browse the site and see how it's organized by device. Read the Wiki:
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/
Then find the section that pertains to YOUR device. Odds are you'll find a thread in there discussing ROM upgrades pertinent to your own machine.

I have an HTC Trophy and desperatley want to load the Mango roms and get custom ringtones. I have NO IDEA how to check my SPL version. Any questions about this on this site are either very general or a little techy for my comprehension.
I really need a step-by-step from the "beginning" of how to find my SPL version so I don't "brick" my phone. And more info on the whole Mango roms would be APPRECIATED.
And anyone willing to chat with me via email would be AWESOME, but apparently I can't include email being a newbie.
Just a hacking retard looking for some kindness.
Head to this sub-forum you should be able to find all you need.

Thanks, but I've been all over that forum. Apparently newbies are not permitted to post on anything but the "general" forums...until after 8 posts.
The problem I ran into there, as stated in my original, is that the info is a little too techno-speak. I need more specific step-by-step.
Does anyone read the full content of a post before replying?
thank's verry much

First of all,I would like to thank XDA forum for this wonderful resource.
I genuinely thank anybody who can render me some help.
I am new to the forum.
My question is centered around finding the correct method to
Root my note 2 ,n7100,version 4.3.
ap: N7100XXUENA1
cp: N7100XXUEMJ9
csc:N7100OXEENB1
I reside in LEBANON, in the MIDDLE EAST.
and another concern of mine is after rooting,if I decided to flash
a new ROM, how can I go about figuring out what is the right
MODEM(cp) and the right csc for this region.
should I be concerned about that or not?
if yes, please direct me to a place or link where I can get the
Right cp and the right csc for that region.
the reason I am asking is because I read in different forums
about people having trouble with Wi-Fi and internet connection
after root or after flashing new ROM.
THANK YOU.
Hi,
The note 2 has a few variants (n7100, n7105) and they shouldn't be mixed up. Since you have the N7100, you should flash roms from the n7100 development threads which can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-2/development
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-2/orig-development
For rooting guides you should follow these:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2143479
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1896696
In future, please ask device specific questions in their dedicated forums itself! Well, that's why they're made!
Good Luck!
thank you
I thank you for your response.
I just registered today.I still don't know how to navigate the
Site the correct way.
I would follow your advice henceforth.

The phone in the description seems like it's the same phone, so I believe this method will work. I'm considering on buying one if someone could test it out. They're on sale for $39 right now. Even if not getting root isn't possible, it still seems like it's a good deal. Here's the instructions.

Sir
Here isn't the right place for this type of thread. Please see our sticky threads where is something writted:
The mission of XDA Assist is to provide basic help to those who have tried searching but can't find what they are looking for and need assistance. This is not a "helpdesk" providing technical assistance but more to point you in the correct direction with your problem. Perhaps you can't find posts on how to root your phone, install custom recovery or maybe you have questions about how to navigate and use features on the site.

So I've rooted this device several times and only once.... have I gotten the wifi to stay on.
But I decided to turn off the device and after that next reboot, the wifi was no longer allowing me to connect.
Attempting to turn on the wifi will freeze the device. I have no idea why it's doing this nor how I got the wifi to stay on previously.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem?
I have successfully rooted many devices and this is the only device that has given me this much stress.
I do not want to go back to stock again, KNOX over heats the tablet and Samsung devices are known to have
heavy bloatware. I just want this device running on wifi and block the mobile data option but that requires root.
N O T E : >>>>>> Any form moderator reading this please... please ...PLEASE DO NOT re-direct me to a form
that has not given a specific answer to this problem nor close this discussion, This issue needs a solution. I can not stress the importance on this request. Any time I ask a question generally I get re-directed to another post with in the vicinity of nowhere near the request and only to go back to square one. I just really need this issue resolved as soon as possible.
I have already search on this form
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/general/root-sm-t237p-t2849224/page2
as well as this one.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/development/rom-sm-t237p-rooted-odexed-2015-04-11-t3079083
and still no solution was found.
Again please DO NOT re-direct me nor close this post.
-Thank you for your time.

Hi there,
First of all I think you need to read our sticky threads about the purpose of this XDA Assist Forum. Take a look bellow with highlighted words:
The mission of XDA Assist is to provide basic help to those who have tried searching but can't find what they are looking for and need assistance. This is not a "helpdesk" providing technical assistance but more to point you in the correct direction with your problem. Perhaps you can't find posts on how to root your phone, install custom recovery or maybe you have questions about how to navigate and use features on the site.
Our XDA Assist team will give you links to threads/forums that are relevant to your problem. You may be pointed towards guides and instructions that can be quite complex, so you will still need to read carefully and be cautious before attempting to make software changes to your device. It is essential you are in the correct forum for your device model; what works for one can ruin another.
