This thread was open and closed on Feb 13th, but I think I may have found an answer.

The phone in the description seems like it's the same phone, so I believe this method will work. I'm considering on buying one if someone could test it out. They're on sale for $39 right now. Even if not getting root isn't possible, it still seems like it's a good deal. Here's the instructions.

Sir
Here isn't the right place for this type of thread. Please see our sticky threads where is something writted:
The mission of XDA Assist is to provide basic help to those who have tried searching but can't find what they are looking for and need assistance. This is not a "helpdesk" providing technical assistance but more to point you in the correct direction with your problem. [Completed] need to find the best place for my thread

Hi
i'm in a little dilemma and i need "seniors" advice
i have developed tool to replace splash logo screen on LG devices from Lx and Lx II series
i want to make a thread for it but i don't want to maintain 2 threads for same thing
and i wanted to know what are my options...
ie. is there a way to make permanent link to normal thread in other part of forum ? (i know this is possible to do on sticky thread >i have one of them<)
or are there other options ?
EDIT:
also should this tool be in "general" or "android development" or "themes and apps" ?

[Completed] Where do we post, in the main XDA Assist forum, or its subforum?

I am confused as to where requests for assistance should be posted. Do I see a forum -- and a subforum?
We have XDA Assist, which is unlocked to new posts, and then we have Post New Thread, also unlocked and accepting new posts.
I read the documentation for the main forum, and thought I'd post my assistance request there. I only saw there was another area after I posted in the first area.
Or does it make no difference? Sorry, but if this information is already available, somewhere, please give me a link. Couldn't find it!
It depends on your problem. The nature of XDA Assist is to help users in looking for the right place for their issue. For Ex. for your phone, we do not have a Sub Forum Defined. So you'd go to
> Android Development and Hacking
forum. Within it, you can either post in Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting if you have a problem you can't solve. Other wise if its a general discussion on the phone, you can post in Android General
Does that make sense ?
Question that started this thread is answered, may be closed.

Well ... still confused.
Maybe the threads XDA Assist and Post New Thread, are in fact one and the same?
They seemed to be separate, but perhaps I should take note of the first few posts in each, and see if they're the same?
Anyway, I posted in the XDA Assist thread, and it seems to be working -- I see my other post has one reply.
No one else seems confused, so I guess it's just me. :silly:
Different question from different thread answered, both threads may be closed.
So, I'll go to --
> Android Development and Hacking
and then, since it's not a problem needing troubleshooting but just something general on how Android works (I doubt it's phone specific) I think I'll put it into 'Android General'.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! And the instructions for this forum say the moderator will close the thread when the advice has been given, so please feel free to do so, now.

[Completed] [Q] Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 (SM-T237p)

So I've rooted this device several times and only once.... have I gotten the wifi to stay on.
But I decided to turn off the device and after that next reboot, the wifi was no longer allowing me to connect.
Attempting to turn on the wifi will freeze the device. I have no idea why it's doing this nor how I got the wifi to stay on previously.
Has anyone found a solution to this problem?
I have successfully rooted many devices and this is the only device that has given me this much stress.
I do not want to go back to stock again, KNOX over heats the tablet and Samsung devices are known to have
heavy bloatware. I just want this device running on wifi and block the mobile data option but that requires root.
N O T E : >>>>>> Any form moderator reading this please... please ...PLEASE DO NOT re-direct me to a form
that has not given a specific answer to this problem nor close this discussion, This issue needs a solution. I can not stress the importance on this request. Any time I ask a question generally I get re-directed to another post with in the vicinity of nowhere near the request and only to go back to square one. I just really need this issue resolved as soon as possible.
I have already search on this form
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/general/root-sm-t237p-t2849224/page2
as well as this one.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/tab-4/development/rom-sm-t237p-rooted-odexed-2015-04-11-t3079083
and still no solution was found.
Again please DO NOT re-direct me nor close this post.
-Thank you for your time.

Hi there,
First of all I think you need to read our sticky threads about the purpose of this XDA Assist Forum. Take a look bellow with highlighted words:
The mission of XDA Assist is to provide basic help to those who have tried searching but can't find what they are looking for and need assistance. This is not a "helpdesk" providing technical assistance but more to point you in the correct direction with your problem. Our XDA Assist team will give you links to threads/forums that are relevant to your problem. You may be pointed towards guides and instructions that can be quite complex, so you will still need to read carefully and be cautious before attempting to make software changes to your device. It is essential you are in the correct forum for your device model; what works for one can ruin another.

Sony XA2 AOSP building problems

Hi,
first post on this forum -> hope this is the right section, sorry if it isn't.
So I'm here because I have a problem regarding the building process of AOSP for the sony XA2
I'm following those steps : developer.sony.com/develop/open-devices/guides/aosp-build-instructions/build-aosp-nougat-8-1-oreo-4-4
(adding https for opening)
The problem appears on step 4, part 4 : I do not have the repo_update.sh
So first question very simple, does anyone has it ? what am I missing.
Although I'm not especially new to development, I found it on the repo (don't know why it does not come still -> I suppose it's not in the manifest, yet why is it suppose to be in the tutorial ?)
The next question are regarding my newbie state in android development / flashing / OS
Cause next I would need to flash the boot.img vendor etc . . . I did not find nowhere the explanation of where to find those and I'm kind of frustrated of finding absolutely nothing EXPLICIT on the matter.
So could someone point me to a newbie tutorial / explanation please ? or directly explain it to me if it's not too long.
For the record, I understood what those images are, I just don't know where to find them.
ok It's more a general confusion due to the fact that I'm new to Android than anything else still, I need answers
Thank you for your responses in advance.

I don't have this device and I've never personally built a ROM before but, you should be able to obtain some member guidance within one of the following threads.

Ok truth is, I think something is wrong with my system, I have a linux 17 maybe it's not the right one to do this, I tried with a 'normal' 16.04, I went further, have other problems, but I'm finding solutions on the forums.
Precisely in the links you gave me so thanks for answering the questions that I did not have time to ask ^^
Thank you for your help, have a nice day.
