I jumped the ship a while ago from MS and switched to the Mac. I'm currently using PocketMac for my connectivity to my Blue Angel phone and it works fine, except for installing .exe files. Most of the time, it says a .cab file cannot be found within the .exe file. I have no trouble installing .cab files, but I can't always find programs as .cabs. Anyone have any ideas on extracting the .cab files from the .exe to install on pocket pc? I've tried also using Virtual PC, but two problems exist. First of all, the usb connectivity doesn't work well and most of the time, at all, and second, I have Tiger and Virtual PC doesn't work at all on Tiger.

the install exe files are often selfextracting zip files and you can often rename them to zip and copy out the cab file

Im trying to upgrade my jammin with the latest dopod rom ..Ive got hold of the romupdateutility.exe which bypasses the vendor id but now when i run the .exe it comes up with the error
'ERROR [240] File open'
As anyone got any ideas as to solve this problem?

You most likely need to copy the nk.nbf file into the same directory as the romupdateutility.exe file.
I am having the same problem with my new mda IV compact i have tried to load the rom in every different way but still the same message comes up, i am trying to change radio settings to the 06 version. i have done the spl load but can't do a flash rom. any ideas please

But when i try to run the roms KaiserCustomRUU this error pops up
is there a certain program i should be using to run it? or did i save it wrong?
Make sure the phone is in active sync mode. My diamond i had this problem then realized that i had it in disk drive mode. switched it back and i was fine.
hey.. problem solved for me.
Click that "View README" button right next to the llast button you click before you get the error.
Where is that file located on your computer? For me it didnt load, but it said "could not find file at c:\windows\system32\readme.doc".
I took the cue, and moved my *.nbh file into the system32 folder. Voila! It was weird because I was running the ruu.exe file from the desktop (on a vista PC). I guess for some reason it was looking in system32??
So give the above a try. Might work for ya

I am havıng the same prob.
I have trıed everythıng already lısıted ın here to no provail. The weırd thıng ıs that I have already used thıs rom.
I downloaded ıt and flashed my devıce but was havıng problems wıth hard resets occurıng randomly.
I read up on the rom (Dark vısıon) and ıt warned of thıs and suggested ınstallıng a dıfferent rom then tryıng agaın.
I ınstalled the recomend rom but when ı went to try and ınstal dark vısıon agaın...
for me it helped to just change the .image name to .nbh and it updated..

I installed WM6 and want to install an application which needs to recognize i'm running a WM5 device.
How can i change rom version display info to fool it into thinking im running a WM5 device? any ideas?

Can someone explain this puzzle... sorry if this is a dumb question.
After flashin my htc wiz with wm6 I cant install alot of my old cab files. I transfer them to the phone and it see's the files as window files but I cant run them. If the program cabs that im trying to run have setup file the phone sees it as a xml file or just a file with the windows logo Any Idea whats going on here?

Hello All,
Im new to the Forums I had a question wondering if someone can help. I rooted my nexus one and I have several roms. I used a Windows PC to root my phone and also to download my roms (zipped files), Now I have mac 10.6.1 and I have downloaded some roms then I compress them into zip files. And everytime I try go into recovery and try to unzip the rom that I downloaded from my mac it never takes it. But if I do the same procedure with my PC I can load the rom. Can anyone tell what I am doing wrong.
