i had installed tomtom5 vie SD Card.
after install, which folder i can delete in the SD?
i tried to leave "voice" and "map" folder. but tomtom will not have voice afterward.

I want to install apps into my SD card but one thing I don't know what to do is how on earth I select a specific folder where I want to install it?
I don't like having programs installed in the root sd folder I want it to be more like:
/storage card/programs
I use Dell Axim X30 with Windows Mobile 2003 SE
I heard that it can be tweaked with Resco Registry Editor but what do I have to do??

find a Key fAskDest and change it's value from 0 to 1.
Alternatively you can also use this great program if you're installing directly from your SD Card

thanks alot everything works I managed it to work using reg tweaking but it still doesnt see al folders in my sd card. I created a folder Programs and I couldnt see it till i moved it to another folder "My documents" which is located on my sd card as well. wtf?!? :?

anybody managed to install TT5 to storage card? :shock: WM5 has so little memory so TomTom5 would be nice to get on card.
I don't understand why some progs wants to go devices own memory even I say install on storage card.
On the otherhand, I haven't got it working at all. I've installed the cabs and patched 5.21 exe with the backlight hex, but the first start process exits when I have selected the language for speech. This happens with and without the hex fix.
Click on ttn.cab. It is in your 2577 folder on the SD Card. Also have a look at

i have a very simple problem here.
i had install tomtom5 with image files in SD card, and fully working. but now, my SDcard is a mess.
which folder and file i can delete? or i have to leave it like this?

all you need on your SD Card is the maps which should be in their individual folders. All TTN system files should be installed on your device. To check to see if this is true, take your SD Card out and launch TTN5. If the app runs (albeit without map) you know that it is safe to delete files on you SD card.

Thats why i said take the card out and try running TTN before you delete :?
You need to create a folder on the the root of your device called voices and thats where you should put your voice files (.vif, .chk and .bmp)
restart TTN and then voices should be there.

What size mini sd card should I buy and is it easy to do?
My mate has it on hi ipaq and I wanna do it to my vario but am a bit of a nightmare with these things.
Loading tomtom 5 is Quite Easy on WM5
1) Download TT5.21 update from Tomtom.com
2) Get a 256Mb MiniSD card
3) Copy your map and Voices to the SD card
4) Create a file Called CurrentMat.dat (this Is only a text file with the name of the map you are useing in the first line of the text file) Download below
5) Create a Folder in My Documents (On the phone not the SD card)
6) Install tomtom.cab
7) Install ttn.cab (these 2 files can be found in the folder \navupd521\pocketpc\ from the update you downloaded
8) If you Are after Cracking it copy YOUR Cracked Tomtom Navigator.exe to your PPC's Directory \Program files\Navigator
9) You Will Have To find your own MAP (GB=102Mb GB+Major roads of europe=200MB aprox)

Um i got my TD2 from Taiwan and i tried to install Tomtom 7.450.9028 and followed all the steps but when the program opens, it says "no maps found".
Did hard reset and formated the SD Card as well.
Any Ideas?
(my friend did get it working with the exact same installation files on the Sony X1)

if you find your card name which is chinese name,then your tomtom cant find the map.you should get "regedit"software to edit reg file to change the card name to "storage card".

i also had the message like you... it just means that your card material is in the wrong directory.... put it in the root directory of your micro sd card and it will work... be carefull!!! you should install your tomtom in the same directory...

i'll give that regedit thing a try.
as for the installing the tomtom in the same directory as the maps, i recall that when i installed tomtom on my storage card, it wouldnt startup.
but, it wont kill me to try so wish me luck...
