if you find your card name which is chinese name, then your tomtom cant find the map.you should get "regedit"software to edit reg file to change the card name to "storage card".

hy guys
i also had the message like you... it just means that your card material is in the wrong directory.... put it in the root directory of your micro sd card and it will work... be carefull!!! you should install your tomtom in the same directory...
greetings from germany
little tip for you:
http://www.digital-eliteboard.com/search.php?searchid=501895&pp=40
there you can find everything for tomtom...registration is essential

Thanks guys,
i'll give that regedit thing a try.
as for the installing the tomtom in the same directory as the maps, i recall that when i installed tomtom on my storage card, it wouldnt startup.
but, it wont kill me to try so wish me luck...
thx

Problem with Rom Loading from SD card....

Hi, when I upgraded my rom I encountered a small problem. I have loaded the rom from my MDA to the SD card. But when I tried to use ntrw command, it just did not work. The command I used is "ntrw read Tmobile.nb1 i:". However, I just got the message "Usage: ntrw file drive:" on the screen. I supposed the problem is in the filename I used, "Tmobile.nb1". Now I am in the UK, and this is an English 1.12 WWE rom. So what should the file name be? and how can I get NTRW work?
I am sorry for the dummy question. I did search the forum, trying to find the answer to my question, but could not find any. Please help and tell me how to solve the problem.... Again, my apology for my ignorance....
I did a little research on google and found that the file name of the rom on the SD card can be randomly given. Therefore, the command I used "ntrw read Tmobile.nb1 i:" should have worked. And I am sure that the sd card is on drive i:.
Now I really don't know why I cannot load the rom from the SD card to my PC? Can anyone help....
My card is Sandisk 1.0 gb. Can that be a problem? When I tried to upload a rom file from my pc to the sd card, it showed: "unsupported media type"......
This is weird cause i've got the same problem "it just says ntrw write file usage" and i use a sandisk 1.0 GB card too.
I guess the software u using is corupted, try to download again in FTP but make sure use diffent one. Because there are many software with the same name, but some of it is not working perfectly.
Thx for your reply, mate!! Now I found the problem. As you said I used the wrong software. I simply use the ntrw.exe file from the upgrade guild folder. However, that one is not compatible with either windows sp2 or usb 2.0. I d/l the ntrw 2.0, and everything is fine now.
Thx for helping

TomTom 5 to the storage card?

Hi,
anybody managed to install TT5 to storage card? WM5 has so little memory so TomTom5 would be nice to get on card.
I don't understand why some progs wants to go devices own memory even I say install on storage card.
On the otherhand, I haven't got it working at all. I've installed the cabs and patched 5.21 exe with the backlight hex, but the first start process exits when I have selected the language for speech. This happens with and without the hex fix.
Click on ttn.cab. It is in your 2577 folder on the SD Card. Also have a look at

SDA Storage problems

Hey! New here, read quite a bit... I have managed to Application unlock my phone and have been able to add mp3 ring tones. I am trying to install the .NET Framework for app I'd like to try but I am getting errors saying I can't install due to lack of space. Are there things I can delete? I moved all my pics n stuff to my 1gig card already. Can most applications be installed / run from the sd card?
Thanks for your input!

install netcf v2 in your storage card
There is a version that can be installed onto the storage card, I don't know why MS made this so difficult.
Search around, I forget exactly where the directions are, but someone did a nice write up tutorial.

In the About tab I have
Avail storage = 4.29M
Total storage = 19.93M
Avail memory = 16.90M
Total memory = 45.05M
And I have a 1gig card installed and have mucho space there....

I am also facing the similar problems with installation of .NET Compact Framework and could not succeded yet. Can anyone suggest the solution for this problem. Thanks in advance.
Try to copy the CAB on you MiniSD then execute it from there..
The version of Net CF2 that can be installed on storage card is the service pack 1 version. It will install through ActiveSync, and when that happen, usually the file will be copied to the main memory first and then installed from there to whicever location is chosen. In this case, you will get an error saying that installation failed due to lack of space.
Just go to your ActiveSync folder in your desktop and you will see the CAB file there. Copy it over to your storage card and install from there.
.NET CF Installation
Even after executing the CAB file from storage card, it is giving the same problem. How to go ahead ?

Still could not able to install .NET CF2, even with the rapidshare download. Any other way ?
Same here... I haven't had any luck installing the .net pgm at all...
Maybe this bump might help us!

You need about 5.5M free on-board storage to get this to install. I had to move my entire /windows/appmgr folder to the storage card *temporarily* while I installed it. Then just moved it back after. This was the ONLY way I could get this to go...5.5M MINIMUM.
Good luck,

Copilot7

Can anyone help me... I got a new 8gb SD Card but cant get CoPilot installed to it... does anyone have a website with full instructions?
Cheers

Delete registration/activation file
I did this a while ago and had to phone the support line, very helpful. All I had to do was delete the licence file and it then all worked as per instructions. Afraid I can't remember what the filename was.
What I done this morning at 5am was install the udk Diamond R2 rom and then installed copilot from the \Windows\copilot.cab file and works a treat on my 8gb card but took a while for me to figure out the safety camera database...

Robert how did you go with this, i am having the same difficulties.
i flashed my rom yesterday and all i did was run the installer from the memory card again, but when i upgraded to my 8gig card all i did was copy everything from my 1gig sd too the new one and ran the installer again.
I just run the installer from the memory card to install on memory card. Then conencted it and downloaded the maps... perfect!
You shouldn't need to flash your ROM to do it, at least I didn't. On my Touch Cruise (and HTC Touch) I copied the entire microSD card that shipped with CoPilot Live 7 to my laptop, and then copied from there to a 8gb microSD -- inserted it into my Touch Cruise and it prompted for installation just as with the original microSD. I did find things to be a bit speedier if I installed the program files to the device RAM instead of the card -- it runs from the device but references the map data from the card. You can though install the program to the card if you prefer.
Also, before it would run properly on my Cruise, I had to 'deactivate' the installation on my HTC Touch.

Delete registry reference

A small problem for a WM6 noob: having a BA with WM6 installed. On a sd card, a program was installed but I lost the sd card and replace it with a new one. On executing some programs it launches the following error:cannot execute Storage card/program files/enalarmppc/enalarmppc.exe
What I guess is that the reference for the program is still in the registry. How can I delete that?
Thanx
