How do I create two outgoing com ports - JAM, MDA Compact, S100 Software Upgrading

Anybody now how to do this, two different devices but I can only create one outgoing com port at a time.
Any tools to solve this? Am running rom 1.12 and radio 1.13.

I think Pocket Bluetooth Tools will allow you to do that:

Indead, that tool works fine. Although I use a previous version, 1.0.1.2, because the latest version is very instabile on my MDA Compact.

thanks! now I dont have to install bluesoleil
For some reason the BT Manager in the 1.1.0.0 Version is opend in the background so you can't see it when setting the connection.
(well ,you can activate it from the "Runing programs" menu)
BTW, what do all the buttons in the today plugin do :?:

Damn GPS and Program not communicating

So i have this program combined with this GPS aerial. However it would appear they have had a fight and will not communicate! Well to be honest i am unable to open a Com port according to the program...
This is from the site:
I think I know the correct port and speed, but trying to connect always yield's "Failed to open COM Port."
The access to a COM-port is mutual exclusive which means, that only one program may have access to the receiver at once.
If you are using TomTom, please try the following:
On the PocketPC, uninstall the TomTom ~GPS application (that and only that one)
Don't do it via the PC, do it on the PDA directly
The uninstall routine will ask for a soft reset. After that, everything (including TomTom) will work
Most probably another program or driver is blocking the port.

Now - this and Pocket Informant are the only 2 programs i ahve had running and also the only ones on my XDA after my Hard Resset last night
What is the problem and how do i fix it? Has anyone else had this issue - i have looked under their Success page for those with problems like mine but i cant find my combination or anyhting close
Also Oziexplorer was working with it up until i hard-resetted it so i know that the GPS works.
Com port
Had the same problem.
Disconnect the IR which is using the comport. Got to the connections setup and disable.
Directly after this has been done TomTom finds the GPS.
Rien
Absolute freaking legend...
Immediately after shutting the infrared off it switched on - it must block the com port from anything going in then...
So the big question remains - Why was Oziexplorer working with it?
Dopod M700
Same problem with my Dopod M700 + GPS Receiver + OziExplorer.
Where will we find another port to close it?
uncheck

Pocket Controller - How to use with bluetooth sync

Hi,
I have a qtek 9000 aka Universal and i use to sync with my laptop activesync by bluetooth, but i can't make to work the software pocket controller that is a program to view and control the universal by laptop.
It only works with usb connetion. I had a Blue angel with 2003 and there was no problem but now with WM5 i can't make it to work properly. Any ideas ?
Thanks in advance,
Aprt
No ideas ?
I had the same when I upgraded to WM5 on my Hima. I had to upgrade Pocket Controller to the latest release before I could get the BT link back up and working (all to do with IP addresses if I recall but may be wrong). I'm not at my PC so can't tell you what version I upgraded to but it did fix it, so have a quick look at Soti's site and compare your version.
regards - Mallow1
thanks a lot i will try it.
Brgs,
Aprt
Well i'm using the latest version and the problem continues, i even turned off the firewall but it can't connect by bluetooth

I need the OEM AT&T Bluetooth stack ! Help

I have a AT&T Tile with:
Rom version: Alex v5.20
ROM date: 01/17/08
Radio version: 1.27.14.09
Protocal version: 22.45.88.07H
I have an app for work that I need to run, but it won't work with the Bluetooth stack that came with this ROM.
Does anyone have or know where I can get the OEM AT&T Bluetooth stack (I think that this is also the OEM Microsoft one)
Thanks !
No such thing. It is the Microsoft BT Stack. AT&T does not make BT Stacks. You can try loading a secondary BT Stack to run concurrent, like Blue Soleili

Just like wifi, Bluetooth is a conformed standard. No matter what stack you are using the Kaiser/Tilt supports Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR and you should be able to connect like before. Did you try to "pair" the device? Once you reset or flash to a new ROM you must pair your device again.

My vendor said that I have another one, which is not working. I can pair my phone with the device in windows, but when I open thier app, it doesn't see the device. Per the support docs, I should be pairing it in thier app, not in windows, but it can't see it...
It looks like the program is looking for a specific file, not just bluetooth support.
Ben
Here is what I got back from support...
The default ROM uses Microsoft Bluetooth stack
The ROM you have seems to have Widcomm (aka Broadcomm) Bluetooth stack.
So, I need the Microsfot Bluetooth stack...

Yes, there is always that option, but I really don't want to do it, I like Alex's ROM too much to do that.
Ben
With Alex, Dutty, Slueth255, and my current ROM from Laurentius26 (AKA Leo); I never had a problem with Bluetooth. I use Bluetooth on a daily basis. Try this: In Comm Manager, once Bluetooth is enabled, click on "settings" on the bottom right corner of the Comm Manager page. Choose Bluetooth from the list. Now at this point your other device must be in paring/search mode. Then click "Add new device...". It should find it and pair with your device.
I just changed ROMs to Laurentius26 Diamond V4 and had to re pair my Plantronics Pulsar headphones and my method always seems to work. This time though it did not ask for the pass key for me... Could be something with those new HTC Diamond drivers Leo has added to his ROM I would suggest trying out the "L26 Kaiser Diamond V4" ROM as it is the fastest ROM yet!

Yes, I understand the Pairing process, and this works okay, BUT when I open the program it doesn't see any bluetooth device. Per the instructions of the program, I am not supposed to pair the device with the normal windows method, but open the program and use it to pair the device and phone.
In speaking to support, they said that they have several customers using a AT&T Tilt with the OEM ROM without a problem. I just really don't want to go back to the OEM one.
Ben
At this point I would PM Alex and see what he says. If I knew what your device was, I might have a better understanding on how it might work. Alex's ROM was the second cooked ROM I flashed to my Tilt and I even used Active Sync through Bluetooth with it. I have also sent files to a friend's Nokia phone through Bluetooth. So why it does not work for you is beyond me

I did PM Alex, but haven't gotten a response. The Device is a LaserChamp II bluetooth barcode scanner.
The program is Serial Magic Pro.

Alex's V5.20 is MS Stack Dude. I just disected a version of it. Seems to be an issue with your program. Unless your rom is different from you signature.
You sure you went into BT Options & made the device visible?

Ahh, they just found the problem for me...it seems that there is a WidComm file, in the windows folder that was causing the issue. BtSdkCE30.dll is in \Windows\ and needs to be moved out/deleted to as it is a WidComm file, not part of the Microsoft Bluetooth drivers.
Ben
Don't get me wrong, but it sounds like its not your Kaiser but the windows PC that youre using ..
Widcomm make the windows side drivers for bluetooth i've never seen a PPC widcomm stack.
hover over the bluetooth icon in the bottom right of your computer, double click it or right click --> about ... or just go through the software and see if it says Widcomm on it ... if so, then you'll need to google how to uninstal the widcomm stack and instal the default windows one.
chances are if you go into control panel and add/remove programs and remove the Widcomm software, once thats done windows should automatically instal the default drivers
i hope that helps
and as i said, its not the kaiser, its the windows pc youre using it on.
another thing would be to try a different computer with the default windows stack installed.
Ciao

Also, I am pretty sure (but not totaly sure) that I saw a WidComm (Broadcomm) stack on here to install.

Widcomm (now is broadcom) been for PPC for a long time. My first PPC HP 2210 was using Widcomm stack, and my last phone Asus P525 is broadcom stack as well.

COM Ports

I have a bluetooth GPS reciever and i want to connect it on COM port 9 but in the bluetooth settings it only allows me to use 6 or 7, does anyone know how to change this?
Im using the HTC Vox if that makes a difference?
Thanks
When you say "Bluetooth settings" are you referring to the settings in the GPS software (TomTom, Garmin etc) or are you referring to the bluetooth settings in your phone settings?
When you first pair your device with the external bluetooth device, you need to set up and outgoing port (COM5 on a Himalaya, not sure what Vox would use) and also go to the advanced bluetooth settings and chose "serial connection". The com port should then appear in your GPS software bluetooth selection choices.
Let us know if this helps.
Ports :S
Thanks Jadel for the reply, i was referring to the bluetooth settings in the phone not gps software. i have paired it and and selected serial port and then it gives me a selection of ports to use: 6 or 7, but i already have things connecting to those ports and want to select another one to use? Any ideas?

give you a clear picture as to where on the PC you handle the activesync comports
rather then on the pda which dont use comports for activesync at all

HTC Touch Pro - Active Sync with Vista via Bluetooth

I love the phone but I cannot believe that its so hard to sync with Vista via Bluetooth. It has the latest mobile software and vista is the new OS, how can they **** things up so badly?
I know there are some issues with the Sony Vaio Bluetooth stack. Its super confusing and the Bluetooth settings are hard to find.
Is it actually possible to Sync with Bluetooth to vista from WM6? Has anyone got this working?
Thanks, even a yes or no would be great here, so that I know if I'm wasting my time.
Ben
I did. After connecting my TP to the PC via bloetooth, i synced them, but using the phone's ActivSync, and not the Windows Mobile Device Center.
You need to go to your phone and instruct a "bluetooth activesynce".
It worked fine for me and my Vista SP1, using a dead-cheapo USB-bluetooth adapter.
Got it working too. Paired the 2 devices and entered passcode. Then started AS on the phone and selected Connect using BT and off it went. No problems what so ever.
Its good to hear that it works for people.
I think its an issue with the Sony Bluetooth stack. I can pair the devices but the device doesn't show that the laptop has activesync, just wireless stereo. I think I might hate Sony more than Microsoft, Mac next time for sure, so so sick of Vista and spending a week online working things out.
Its a long shot, but I don't suppose anyone has it working on a Sony Laptop with Vista?
Thanks for the replies and listening to me moan.
Indeed, having the same problem with Toshiba Bluetooth Stack. No Activesync profile when searching for available profiles. Is the any solution on how to add the "Activesync profile"?
my phone found the desktop with bluetooth and i checked activesync and on the phone i hit connect bluetooth it works fine but i hit sync and nothing happens?

Did you try this https://forums.microsoft.com/WindowsMobile/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=2382825&SiteID=65
I had the same problem with my VAIO TZ and my Tytn II, didn't try with the TP yet.
Apart from replacing the drivers, I seem to remember there was a trick related to changing the COM Port or something (the default port was incompatible with Activesync) but I'm afraid I don't remember. I'll give it a go when I have time to connect both, but it may not happen until I getmy new laptop.
EDIT: forget the above, that's the trick I half remembered (and used): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=397419

If this is the case, try adding comm port for both your laptop and tp. Outgoing for TP and incoming for laptop. Then you need to set Windows Mobile Center to connect via COM?? (?? is the number you've chosen)
ActiveSync connection (via bluetooth) is actually a comm port connection.

Try removing the pairing and rebond.
It also works fine for me with Vista (non-SP1), newest version of Mobile Center, and a Bluetooth dongle with Microsoft stack.
This worked for me
I used many websites, a lot with very similar advice, but none specific to the HTC touch Diamond conundrum.
However, this is a very useful step by step guide:
http://www.inspectmygadget.com/2007/05/31/how-to-connect-your-wm5-device-to-wmdc-via-bluetooth/, which although provides advice for WM 5, is still the same principle.
The advice below is device specific
I use:
HTC Touch Diamond (with WM 6.1)
WMDC 6.1
Bluesoleil V6 Bluetooth Dongle
Although I had found the above advice on previous websites, and it had not worked I remained persistent.
I was able to find 'Activesync' as a service when, on my PC, changed the WMDC connection settings to COM 3.
However every time I tried to 'connect via BT' on my device, it said 'no partnership existed......'.
I therefore established some more com ports on my computer (in addition to COM 3, COM 4, COM 5 which I had taken authorisation off of):
COM 6
COM 7. Both without authorisation.
I then used the trial and error method to find which com port would broadcast 'activesync' to my device. It was still COM 3.
However, on trying 'activesync via BT'on my device this time, it began to connect!!!
I am not sure whether opening up the extra ports (COM 6 and COM 7) or whether my computer/device decided it was now the time to play ball since it realised I was about to take a cricket bat to it worked but it now syncs fantastically.
NB: There was no need to reinstall any software or windows operating system (as some other posts on other websites have suggested)
I still cannot get this to work. I couldn't on my Sprint Touch and now I can't on my Touch Pro.
I have Vista Home Premium SP1 with WMDC 6.1
Computer was formatted to factory settings today. Touch Pro is new as of yesterday.
I paired the phone to the computer and the computer to the phone. ActiveSync was a profile available for the computer and I made sure it was ticked.
I plugged in the phone via USB and set up the partnership. All is good there.
When I open ActiveSync on the phone and click "connect via bluetooth" it tells me it cannot open the port.
This is the exact same problem I had with my Touch. The computer is newly formatted and isn't communicating with any other bluetooth device at all. How can the port not be available? I've tried the regedit. Tried making incoming ports on the computer. No avail. However, I cannot make new outgoing ports on the phone. The tab is there but no option to do so.
Any help?
Thanks in advance
EZ Solution
I just found an easy solution for u guys who using Toshiba Bluetooth Stack ...
U guys no need to remove anything ...
All u need to do is verify the COM port of ur bluetooth ...
1. Go to the “Bluetooth Local COM” Applet in your Control Panel
2.Open “Bluetooth Local COM” applet where you will see a list of Ports
3. The Corerct port you need to use is
“COM7 Toshiba BT Port (COM7) LocalCOM-Server[SerialPort(TOSHIBA LocalCOM)]
and not “COM6 Toshiba BT Port (COM6) LocalCOM-Client”
From this guy here ... << http://thinkabdul.com/2006/10/12/tu...c-via-bluetooth-with-toshiba-bluetooth-stack/ >> TQ sir ...
Then ... u guys need to use ur REGEDIT to find this ...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows CE Services
Notice there is SerialPort ?? yes ... JUST CHANGE THE string 'Bluetooth' to COM7 ...
After this just pair ur wat ever PDA u've got & thats it ... u got the ACTIVESYNC in the advance option of the services available ...
Hope u guys enjoy !!!
P/S :- BTW i just bought my HTC TP 2 weeks ago ...
woks perfectly!!!
many thanks.
