Do you think that it's enough for your XDA? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 Accessories

Mugen Power will released a 4500mAh after market battery of XDA II & IIi.
And now we want to find one reviewer to review this battery in this forum.
If you want to review this battery for us, pls PM me.
*We prefer to choose experienced battery reviewer.

hi
hi. i would to know how to charge the battery. whether it is 2600mah or your newest 4500mah? can i charge it on the original cradle or i have to put my xda on cradle to charge? if it cannot be charge indipendenty then no point also.

Can you imagine that your XDA II can be used for 1 week
According to the testing our new XDA II Extended Battery, it can be used ( normal daily using) for 1 week.
So Can you belive it??? No.........???
It's a time for you to have this experience. Anybody want to have a test and review pls do PM me.

How thick will that battery be?
The 2400 mAh is already 2-3 mm thicker than the normal battery and therefore need an adapted battery cover.
4500 mAh then should be at least 6-8 mm thicker.
Sascha

To Sascha,
Pls refer to the photo.

That's excellent. According to that, it adds just 5mm which means it should still fit my Piel Frama case. I just slid my spare battery (4mm) in behind the PDA in the case and, though snug, it did fit. Cool.

1350mAh Battery Extension = Thicker phone or what?

Hi!
I just can't seem to get a real answer.
Iwant a higher capacity battery *without*making my phone thicker/larger. What battery can I get or do all the higher capacity batteries make it thicker?
Thanks!
Thicker!
My guess is that if HTC could have fitted a higher capacity battery, without making the device any bigger, they would have done so.
Battery life issues have been discussed since day 1 (May last year, when the Diamond was first released). It seems HTC went with sexy sleekness over long-life battery. In my opinion, they made the right choice!
The HTC 1340mah battery makes it 3mm thicker, but its still looks good.
here are some pics...

I would not trust these batteries you see on ebay from HK. I got one for my old magican and it does not last as long and drains fast when its below ~40%.
Thanks for clearing things up!
cant believe they charge best part of £55 for that, should be more like £20!!
anyone know where i can buy just the back cover mine kinda the baby got his hands on it and it broke in half i need the back battery cover only if anyone can help i looked everywere and cant seem to find just that i have the 1340mah battery just need the cover
Well i just order mine and i love it. Its just 3mm thicker you will not notice the zie increase and the rubbery feel is great. Also the juice will last longer.
I received mine for my mda IV last monday and after a week of use, it was worth every penny. It took a day or 2 to get use to the 3mm addition but i now get 2-3 days use out of my phone between charges were before i barley got 1. Highly advise everyone with battery issues to get one!!!
Look here. Just €26,77 (Do'nt know if they deliver outside The Netherlands)

Unfortunately .... they don't

came in 2 days
I found some pictures of the BP E270.
The official HTC extended battery is well worth the money.
IMHO, it looks MUCH better thickness-wise (I find the Diamond too thin and it hurts my palm during extended use).
It DEFINITELY feels better with the included rubberized matte battery cover.
Mind you, I'm coming from a Touch Pro (a car drove over it -- sniff) and I loved it years beyond this Diamond I replaced it with.

[BATT] [27-03-2009] 1800 mAh MDA Compact IV with pictures - not official one

All,
I managed to source a non-T-Mobile extended battery and cover for my Compact IV. I believe the original costs in the region of £40-£60 (for a 1340 mAh).
I've just purchased at 1800 mAh one for about £12 GBP ($18 USD).
Up until now, I personally was finding it difficult to find a 'replica' extended battery for the Compact IV (different cover to the HTC Diamond of course).
Anyway I thought I'd post some pictures up if people wanted to see.
I won't post a link to where I got it because I haven't tested the performance of it (just received it 30 mins ago!).
My usage is pretty heavy where the original 900 mAh would barely last me 8 hours on a good day.
I will post back results later if anyone is interested.
[UPDATE 27-03-2009]
Well I've been using the battery for a few days and of course it is as expected far better than the original. I haven't tested it with any perfomance software tools, just real life usage.
Full charged at 8am, the battery would easily last me 48 hours. Over this period I had a data connection always on (Exchange and personal IMAP). Just for testing purposes, I had the GPS (Tomtom) running for an hour, browsed the internet for a total of about an hour, plus the general calls and SMSs made/received.
Just one little thing: I had to remove the sticker around the battery because the cover simply would not close, I instead used sticky labels to cover it and now it fits like a glove! I personally think the whole unit feels better in the palm of hand with the extra thickness.
Overall, so far, I am impressed with this battery.
cool, i'm interested to hear your feedback once you use it for a while. thanks for posting the pictures.
Sh500,

I'm a bit concern about removing this sticker around the battery, would this effect the battery in anyway? Did the seller not test to see if the cover closes with this battery?

This is the best cover design which i have seen
I also bought this same battery from the same supplier on e**y, and first day use already a vast improvement on the pathetic original. Fully charged from new this morning, 1 hour mp3 listening, plenty of emails, web-surfing, phone calls, etc and battery power has dropped by 3 bars, normally its virtually dead by now with the standard battery. I would consider myself a heavy user. The battery cover feels a bit plasticy (but seems strong enough) and as was said in the opening post you do need to peel the stickers off the battery to make the cover fit the phone (voiding any warranty for the battery) but for the price I think this is a winner. The extra-thick case feels a bit cumbersome at first but quickly got used to it. Overall so far so good and this is going to be used a lot when I am unsure when I can next get to a charger.
Hi,
Any updates on batery usage?
Can one of you measure the adittional size with new battery in mm or whole phone thicknes?
I would like to buy the same battery, but I have a dillema. I bought HTC original car phone holder, CU S170 witch looks like this: http://www.mobilesupplies.nl/holder-touch-diamond-s170-with-charger-pi-8691.html
I wonder, if phone with this 1800 mAH battery will fit to the holder
Also is there big diference between this 3rd party 1800mAH battery and HTC extendet 1340 mAH.

The thickness is a maximum of 16mm (tried to measure it with a ruler so not the most accurate!)
Yep I'm in the same situation with the car holder, I've got the same holder as you but one that mounts on the car vent. With the extended battery, your device will not fit the holder as there is no additional clearance on the holder.
I think it will be a while until someone manufactures a holder with additional clearance (perhaps a spring loaded back bit) to allow for such upgrades.
Ive been searching for another holder but the only ones that seem to do the job would be the universal 'gripper' ones - these are very ugly in my opinion but currently I don't have much choice! May submit a new post in the section.
I've been using my device for almost a week now and the battery life is consistently better than the original one. Even if I seriously abuse it running different things it would still last be close to 24 hours.
I can't comment on the 1340 mAh.
THIS CAR HOLDER MAY FIT:
http://www.dsldevelopments.com/brodit/Holder/HTC+Touch Diamond-Brodit-Holder.asp
It seems like it has the extra clearance and in the description it states "this kit should accommodate all battery sizes". I wonder if any with a Brodit holder can confirm this? But looking at the pictures there seems like plenty of clearance.
Quite expensive though!

Thanks for reply,
I almost decided to by the original HTC extended battery, becouse of the thicknes, as I read it last about 50% more than original, so that should be bearible it's about two days Not compromizing looks of the phone that much!
Now there is still a issue with the car phone holder, becouse I realy like the holder I got, you can use it in horizontal posittion as a vertical. And I like the build and aesthetic look of it.
There is a small bumps on it, to fit the phone better, maybe if I remove them I can fit my phone with HTC extendet battery in it. Or maybe it would fit anyways without remowing them (picture attached)
As I read, the phone with original battery 900 mAH is 11.85 mm thick, and with extendet 1340 mAH battery is 14.40 mm thick.
So would be nice, if someone could post feedback with original HTC car phone holder, and HTC extendet battery. DOES IT FIT OR NOT

Like i said, I have the same mount as you and there doesn't seem like extra clearance behind. I would be surprised if the 1340 battery would fit even with the extra bit taken off, you need about 3mm extra. Plus you dont want it too tight so as it would scrape against the edges everytime you took the phone in and out of the holder. But see if anyone else replies I guess.
I know Brodit do two specific holders for the Diamond, one for the 900mAh and another for the 1340 mAh.

I'd like to know this answer as well. I would assume the extended battery would make the device look as the size of the TouchPro.

It's difficult to judge the thickness of that pouch just from the picture. I still have my mate's Touch Pro with me and it is about 2-3 mm thicker than my MDA C4.
Nobe question: I'm assuming that's with the 1800 mAh battery on your phone? lol!

2 stock batteries together

Hi, after reading the post that says the majority of batteries in ebay are crap (less than 80% of the mah indicated) i've been thinking of do it by myself and put together 2 stock batteries (or 2 armani batteries) which will give to me 3000 real mah or 3300 real mah, anyone has done it? (is it possible?)
Will I find a back case with the double battery thickness?
sorry for my english.
Thanks in advance.
how about trying the 2700 battery?
I have the momax battery and it is excellent. But I have always wondered if you join 2 or even 3 stock batteries together would it be safe and usable, I don't know enough about batteries to risk doing this, but if anyone has any knowledge please share.
I've ordered a 3000mah battery from a website that sells upgrade batteries for a variety of devices, it comes with an extended cover. free shipping all over the world, dunno if I am allowed to post it here but pm me if you want the address
Yes please do post the address

NOPE Try momax nice design
Get the 2700mAh battery from momax. It's a good battery and comes with a nice back cover and slip case.
I would caution against meddling with batteries unless you really know what you are doing. An exploding battery is not fun.
I bought a 3500mAh battery from ebay, and so far so good. I'm not sure if its really 3500, but it seems to last pretty long. At the end of a day, I usually used to have about 30% left on my original battery, but on this baby, I still have at least 50-60% left. That's pretty good.
Assuming the battery readings are correct, that would put the ebay battery at twice the capacity ( 3000 mAh ), not 3500mAh. But for so little money, who cares ?
I use the 5A PortaPow USB rechargeable battery. Plug it in and it recharges the phone, or plug it in and use it while using the phone.
Saves any case mods. Still got a sleek galaxy S , and a little baggie with a 5A battery in when needed. It's about the same size as an iPod classic, and means I can GPS for hours and hours when out and about. 2 and a bit hours and it's flat on a 1.5A stock battery.
So with a PortaPow and a stock battery I've got 6.5A to resource.
ok, now i have a stock 1500mah, armani 1650mah, and the momax 2700mah (all the things are very cheap so.. jeje).
the momax 2700 is fine, i'm not really sure that this is real 2700mah but the case is nice.
I was interested in this cause if i can put together 2 1650 they will bring me real 3300mah that maybe is the best battery life you can get for this phone.
the 3500mah in reality it is two 1200mah batteries together, (you can find more info in this forum).
So, if they can put together 1200mah why not the 1650mah?.
I have tried the space in the momax case, and the 1500+1650 batterys doesnt fit, only for 1 millimeter (or less) but doesnt fit.

For normal batteries yes it would work, just. You don't get double the life though because the batteries would discharge each other while sitting idle.
However it doesn't work with Lithium batteries such as the ones in phones. These are not simple batteries, but rather lithium cells, a small amount of circuitry and an extra third terminal to talk to the phone's battery management chip. Over discharging, or over charging lithium batteries can cause explosions and the electronics protect against that. Because of these you can't simply hook them up in parallel, you need a battery with physically more cells (higher mAh number.)
Thanks garbz, well explained
so.. i will keep in my phone the momax and forget this thread xD

Yes, there is a 1650mAh battery made for Giorgio Armani Galaxy S (which is known to be compatible with standard Galaxy S). Thats as high as you can go without adding extra bulk. You might find batteries rated even higher on eBay, but those are fake values.
Or you know... you could just use the two batteries sequentially, not blow up your phone, and not have a cinder block back case.

3800 mAh Extended Batteries

Anyone had tried or bought the 3800 mAh batteries on Ebay or Amazon that care to provide a review ?
The only reviews of them I can find is on Amazon and it doesn't sound too good with the battery overheating

You will need another back cover for the battery as it looks thicker compare to our.

My extended battery from my infuse fit right into my skyrocket. 3500mah. But the extended battery cover defiantly didn't fit. I really don't like the covers that are out right now for the extended battery, Im going to wait till they make one like the slopped one thats on my infuse.

Out of curiosity, we wouldn't be able to charge these extended batteries without a standalone charger right? I was told this was because our stock batteries have NFC built in with them and these extended ones don't... So when u connect ur phone to your standard usb charger, it just boot loops... Can anyone confirm this?

the powerskin is an addon to the 1850 battery in the skyrocket already so it gives you a total of 3350MAH, plus you get a higher quality battery so in the end its worth it.

Other members on XDA rated the Power Skin to be a bad choice for an addon battery. There are many post and threads regarding the charging of the battery becoming defective, the Power Skin causes the original battery to fail over time, etc. Multiple post regarding why the Power Skin is an awful product, but to me is the ONLY one that looks decent rather than an extended door panel.. If only they can make these extended batteries slim like the oem but pack a good ol' 3800 mah in it.

I wish they had a prettier case...probably won't get one until they do.

I can understand if it's built shoddily that it can end up frying its own battery, but how would a powerskin ruin the internal battery? Any links you have handy? Lots of threads with powerskin in them...

Samsung Galaxy S II Epic Touch 4G 2 x 2000mAh Battery+ Charger

Samsung Galaxy S II Epic Touch 4G 2 x 2000mAh Battery+ Charger
http://www.htcexpress.com/samsung-b...attery-free-wall-dock-charger-w-usb-port.html
For
SAMSUNG
Epic 4G (SPRINT)
I am very happy with the battery life. Getting about 7hrs plus on light surfing, with just data 3g on constant, and bluetooth use only on when needed. Sorry I dont have one of those phone screen for proof but rest assured it the best slim fit battery out there that I am aware. After purchasing the mAh 1800 generic, the mAh 1950 QCell and finally Samsung 2000 mAh which is the best quality being that its not generic or fake just pure brand, and I noticed the difference in performance. Using right now Clean GB 1.1.2 on BML and I mainly use phone for talk with opening 1 or 2 pages of web and some on & off bluettoth, no 4g, no wifi, vibrate or silence, screen off in 2min, no live wallpapers = solid 7hrs for me. Results may vary depending on your apps but I stop using memory apps just a fresh install of CleanGB.
Fit on Epic 4g Sprint sph-d700 phone is tight but good. Plus I use Seidio ACTIVE Case for Use with Samsung Epic 4G - Black so it snugs real nice the back cover with battery.

Anyway www.htcexpress.com delivered quick USPS and even found a coupon to get 10% off so I purchased 2 orders for $62.00 for 4 batteries and 2 charger, one for my girl. I'm good to go when traveling I have my Samsung 2000 mAh in phone and one spare in jean pocket enough to cover me for when I charge at home.
P.S. i used this code OFF10 in the shopping cart under Vouchers and guess what its cheaper by 10% until supplies last or offer ends.
As always Thank You XDA for all of your wonderful forums on ROMs and Themes, hope you can enjoy this Epic battery Review...
***Updated Screenshots as requested***
Peace =)

Hey OP, I've never heard of these cells before. Would you be interested in sending me one for testing over in my Battery Reviews Thread. I'd be interested to see how they hold up. They are very sneaky making it look so OEM styled

Surprisingly enough, the Amazon reviews on these are entirely decent.

You must be unlucky, my Hero's charger like that from years ago still works even though you have to manually put the prongs into the outlet lol.
My Epic one is still perfect
Honestly, I don't see why anyone would get this. Unless you need a charger you could get two official 1800mah batteries for just a few dollars more (assuming that is legit ).

Somehow I doubt that.. I got some "1800mah" 3rd party batteries about a year ago and while they worked great at first, they slowly deteriorated and now they won't even last an hour, while my stock 1500mah still lasts at least 15h with light use and is about 1.5 years old.
Stock Battery average at best...
Yeah on stock I would get like 4-5hrs at best now I can last solid 7hrs so to answer your questions the more mAh the more power you can store in it. The trick I have found is not to let go to 0 more like 10 or 20 % before a full charge.
As for the extra charger its neat to take it on the go but I use my cradle charger for home recharging.
I think the 1800mAh Samsung battery is overrated just like the expensive Seido Extended Battery. The 1500mAh and this one both are made in china except this one might be third party because it does have www.chichitec.com printed in the back cover but in the end its just a battery with 200mAh more than Samsung. I might just have to buy this OEM Samsung 1800mAh battery that everyone praises just to see the difference.
Anyway this is just for those who want to have a little bit extra without the bulge of a extended battery cover. I am happy with it and just wanted to share and try it out has suggested in my other thread by a fellow member.

If you've only used that battery for a few cycles, I'd love to see what it actually weighs in at over in my Phone Battery Review Thread
What programs to test with?
I will do it but don't no what apps should I use like screen shot apps or battery measuring apps. Can you suggest any free or paid apps on goggle play I should focus on so that I can post some screen for you m8's? Thanks for your input.
Lanboy =)
The whole idea of the 1800mAh OEM battery is that it fits with the original back cover not making it to bulky, the battery is actually capable of lasting all day with medium-usage. At least compared to my year old 1500mAh one

Battery Monitor Widget is a good one. You need the widget on your home screen for it to monitor.
The built in battery stats should give more than enough info. Post screen on time, overall stats, and the graph.

Updated screenshots as requested. How do I show off screenshots blown up inside the post instead of small like attachments?
Anyway can go a good 9hr+ even better than previous stated. One note when charging on USB I get 100%, after unplug I only see 94% (1880 mAh) don't know if this is because I charge in phone or I should use their wall charger to get the full 100% from point of turning on phone.
Now I hear theres a 2300mAh but reviews sound skeptic. Will have to do some more research, but I think I have bridged the gap with extended and slim using this battery.
