I just bought an XDA2i. After all configurations and installing some software, I did a soft reset. I noticed that after the reset, the Screen Orientation icon is missing on the system tray. The only ones left are the Bluetooth icon and the Wifi icon.
Has anyone experienced this before?
I can go to Start-Settings-Screen and then change the orientation from there. But this is tedious. Can anyone suggest how I can get this icon back?
Thanks,
-Bob
Hi
That also happend to me. Fortunately I only had installed the software that came with the PDA: GPRS Monitor, Voice Dial, KSE TrueFax
Since I couldn't make the icon appear again, I decided to hard reset the PDA, resinstalled only the GPRS Monitor and KSE True Fax. Then I disabled GPRS Monitor from the today screeen.
I did a soft reset and the icon was still there.
Now I have plenty of software installed, I have performed several soft resets and the icon continues to appear.
I guess it should be some incompability with GPRS Monitor. I still have it installed, but I never put it again on the today screen.
Hope it helps

Hi, Have the same problem. Thanks for the tip Ruka.

Just got a T-Mobile MDA compact. I have installed the extra applications (FAX, GPS, etc) from the CD ROM supplied with the MDA.
After the installation the PC tells you to do a soft reset on the MDA.
I then did the soft reset and once the MDA restarted the screen was all messed up. I had to do a hard reset to resolve.
Is this a common problem - is there a fix to it? I would like to know as otherwise i am going to be very reluctant to upload any other software incase this happens again.
Messed up in what way?
If it's the Today screen that's messed up, and looks like it's one screen half drawn over another screen, this is the issue when you sometimes install things in the Ext_ROM.
The fix is simple, just click Start>Settings>Today and then just tick "Use this picture as Background" and click OK, your today screen should be fixed.
I have to do this after I install Ext_ROM programs, but just do it once and the phone's fine until I install another thing.
thanks - worked a treat
I flash the my hima with the TofClock 2.01a32WWE ROM, and it works fine, and I'm very glad with it.
But now, some time I turn off my hima by pressing the power button, the screen went black, after a while, I want to light it to operate, the hima keeping black, and the hima cannot operate any more, and I tried to call my phone(hima), the hima didn't ringing. Also, SMS, MMS, all function dead. But the same time, the 2 leds, Blue and Green/Red, flash like normal.
At this time, the only way to operate hima normally was soft-reset it by press the hole with my pen.

Is there someone experience this situation, and is there some way to solve the problem.

ps: in the Settings --> System --> Power --> Advanced page, the 2 options can set "Turn off device if not used for" some minutes, when "turn off" time out, the same problem occurs like above, I called it Auto Turn Off
My device is Dopod 696 (Maybe Chinese mainland version of O2 XDA II).

I also experienced similar problems, but with the 64 version.
After a while, when I tried to turn it back on, it began to act strange. First the automatic turn off backlight option was every time reset to 10 sec and then after a day or 2 I noticed that the screen was sometimes still showing some black lines. Changing the volume still gave the corresponding sounds, but nothing else seemed to work (or wasn't visible). Normal operating mode was only reinstated after a soft-reset.
I gave it a hard reset and restored a backup (using SPB). It's operating again, but it already contains the 10 sec change.
So probably have to start clean again and install everything from the beginning, but before I do I would like to make sure it will not happen again.
Appears like the Power Off option is screwed, no matter in which way I use it (button or a program).
Anyone have any thoughts on it?
zplei
yes, i have same problem on my O2 XDA ATOM
with last rom and other
I have the same problem too, the only ay to have it back is softreset
i was using spb to toggle display mode.
someone said can be solve by reegedit. but how to.
anyone found a solution..?
After rebooting my phone earlier today my wi-fi has been stuck on, yet shows as off in QuickMenu and Comm Mgr. Any attempt to "turn on" the switches fail, even turn off option in wi-fi set up dialog does nothing. Can anyone help me?
EDIT: I also noticed now that any command to reboot the phone, along with standby (yes, even my top button), and power off commands are not working either.
EDIT2: It also now seems the screen will not rotate when the keyboard is slid out. I'm beginning to think my only option is to do a hard reset, and I'd REALLY rather avoid that...
EDIT3: AND it thinks it's charging...
EDIT4: Also all of my buttons don't work...
thats weird
my touch pro is doing just the opposite..... i can't turn off the wifi, the "switch" is grayed out to the point that it will not let me turn it off
wierd, does a soft reset not work? Never seen that before...
Have you altered anything recently or added an app that could be causing compatibilty issues?
Hey guys, i've got a problem. First off, KforTouchPro works fine on my HTC Touch Pro, i can configure buttons fine for Morphgear, PocketGBA, SmartGear etc, it works wonderful. And as everyone that uses this app already knows, you have to switch the setting to MS IME before you launch your game emulator, or else you can't configure the keys. Well, my problem is, after i'm done playing a game, sometimes I forget to switch the setting back to default, and whenever i do a reset or shutoff my phone, it hangs at the screen right before it shows your homescreen and touchflo3d tabs.
Basically, for those that use EnergyROM, it hangs at the screen that shows you the black & blue background with the word EnergyROM 3.0 in the bottom left (or something like that, can't remember). That means you can't do anything at all, since there are no buttons etc for you to press as the home screen is not fully loaded, so basically you got a semi-bricked phone as no matter how many times i try to turn on the phone, it just hangs there, which results in me having to do a hard reset in the end.
To prevent this, you MUST restore the KforTouchPro setting back to the default setting, but sometimes ppl forget and this will cause a semi-bricked phone, which is very risky and quite dangerous.
So, is anyone else having the same problem as me?? Is there a solution to this??
And lastly, what's the difference between KforTouchPro and KforRaphael??
Hello,
My LG GM750 (with stock WM6.5) doesn't ring anymore, nor does it vibrate when set to "ring and vibrate" - it vibrates though when I set it to vibrate only. Reminders don't ring/vibrate either. G-alarm pops up an error message that the sound file cannot be played. WMPlayer does not even start. When I try to make settings in Wireless Manager / Phone Settings, the OK button in the corner of the screen does not work (the settings window just stays on the screen).
During phone calls everything is ok and other applications can play sounds.
I have installed quite a lot of applications, but everything worked just fine for at least one month, then it suddenly stopped ringing: G-Alarm, SPB Mobile Shell, mRing, S2U2 (with caller ID) etc.
The same problem happened to me some time ago and the only way I could fix it was by doing a hard reset (soft reset is useless).
Any ideas on how would I be able to fix it this time without performing a hard reset and taking it all over from the beginning and hoping it will not happen again?
Thank you!
