No sound on S100 - General Topics

Hi,
Last night I started having a problem with the sound :
- while calling I didn't hear any ring tone; but destination phone was ringing
- if other end picked up, neither could hear the other's voice.
- if other party's calling me, my phone rings (?!); when I pick-up, again, neither can hear a thing.
- in the 'sounds' menu, while clicking the play 'icon' no sound.
(volumes are configured to max)
When I tried to soft reset the device hanged on the splash screen, leaving me with no other alternative than hard-resetting :-(
Even after hard-reset, the problem persists.
I'd appreciate any help/advise
Regards & thanks for this forum.

try connecting the headset some people have problems with
the connector getting stuck and it believing that the headset is connected all the time

I've had the same problem...
A phone call ( with a normal line ) to T-Mobile was enough.
They picked up my MDA and swapt it.

Tried phone calls to several providers .... no result.
When I upgraded the firmware, it worked for a couple of days, but the minute I touched the volume/screenlet, it the sound got blocked again ... even hardware reset didn't solve ...

Very strange audio problems

I'm having a very strange audio problem with my Qtek 8310. I had a phone conversation a few hours ago which went fine. However, someone rang me up an hour ago, the ringtone went on as usual, but I couldn't hear anything from the speakers. I received a text message after that where the notification tone played as usual aswell. I then tried playing some audio/video files which had no sound either.
The people on the other end can't hear me either
Strangely enough, if I go under Settings:Sounds I can hear everything.
When I reboot the phone, there's a sweekish sound when the bootscreen comes up.
Does anyone have a solution for this?
Im using "Windows Mobile 6 for Tornado Perfect English Edition V6", by the way
Thanks in advance
Hey, I have had this happen several times to me. Did you end up finding a solution?
I'm not sure if this is a WM6 specific issue, as I've switched from using the Qtek 8310 over to the HTC TyTN II, which, strangely enough, has the same problems at times. The only temporarily solution is to restart the phone and ring up the person who called you in the first place
Hey, I fixed my issue today.
The symptoms I had that I couldnt hear or speak to people when they rang, nor did system sounds work like dialing tones etc. I could only talk through a headset. But sound came out of the main speaker if i went into the control panel then to sounds and played the ringtones.
What I found is there is a little switch inside the plug for the headset, it must have become jammed. To fix it I straightened a paper clip and swirled it round the inside of the plughole (all sorts of furry things fell out!), then it started working. It has been good as gold so far. Give it a go and let me know if it works for you or not.

Sound output stops randomly.. no more ring/voice, etc

i've had the Touch Pro for a little over a week and i absolutely LOVE IT.
the only problem i have is that every now and then, all sound output dies in the device
the phone wont ring anymore, it would only vibrate.. and if you try to raise or lower the volume, no sound comes out at all either.
the only way out is to reset the phone which i'm doing now on a daily basis hoping to avoid missing calls and messages when the phone only vibrates while it's away from me.
anyone have the same problem and/or a solution?
ROM: 1.90.456.3 WWE
ROM Date: 08/20/08
Radio: 1.02.25.19

Hello AntiProxy,
Unfortunately, welcome to the club...
You are the 3rd person I've counted that has that problem. A post is already active on it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=422322
What is weird is that you don't have the same ROM as Zillator and I (we have the same ROM).
I'm really starting to think it is an hardware problem then and that we'll have to send the phones back...
Please check the other post.
Hello Flippy.
yeah i noticed your thread earlier but thought our general symptoms are different.
in my case and when the problem happens, the phone no longer rings, no more message notifications, etc.
and it doesn't happen while the phone is ringing.. it just seems to die off randomly.
like the other day a friend came over and asked if i got his message.. i checked and found 3 messages.. no missed calls.
figured the sound was low, so i hit volume up and increased it to the max, but still no sound was coming out..
i asked him to call.. the phone vibrated, no ringtone.. i answered.. he could hear me, but i couldn't hear him.
now the only good news i might be able to give you, is that i've had this same issue back in the day with my blueangel (i-mate pda2k) and it got solved with a new radio rom.
don't ask me what's this got to do with the radio.. it worked back then.
Same here m8!
When my phone does like that I usually realize when calling. But when it does happen all my sounds are ded as well (volume up/down you don't hear sound, it vibrates without ringing and all other sounds are dead).
We have exactly the same symptoms!
i have this prob too. is worse when i use my bluetooth headset. the, it crashes while in the middle of a call.... how do we get this fixed? called HTC service centre and they suggested i upgrade ROM. read in other places that htc changed the mainboard...
any ideas??
PS, i have the exact same rom, radio and proto as @antiproxy

Help - No audio/mic in cell call, but voip works fine

I have an HTC Droid DNA with Verizon. It's almost 2 years old. I set s-off about a year ago, and have root access, but I didn't flash anything. It's worked fine this whole time. Yesterday morning i made a call without issue. Then, in the afternoon, when I tried to make a call, there was no sound during the call. I made no changes and it suffered no damage in between. If I try to make a call. the call connects, the other person gets the call and answers it, but I can't hear them and they can't hear me. Same with incoming calls. My phone rings, I answer, but neither of us can hear the other one. I've tried the speaker phone, headset, and bluetooth with the same results. I've also tried making a call through google hangouts, and the sound works just fine.
Checked mute/volume settings. Restarting multiple times didn't fix it. I finally decided the only solution was to wipe everything and reflash a stock rom. I flashed hboot, radio, and then the ROM. Still no audio in cell calls. I'm at a complete loss. Is it possible this is a hardware problem? A problem with some account setting on Verizon's end? Any thoughts our suggestions would be appreciated.

Car bluetooth problem with official CM13.0 (and CM12.1)

I was hoping that CM13.0 would solve my Bluetooth problem but did not.
Although most of the time is working with a factory Bluetooth system (in a MB car) every now and then it disconnects.
Disconnection usually happens when there is an incoming call - before I press the accept call button, phone disconnects and reconnects a second or so latter.
I had this problem with CM12.1 and I was hoping CM13 would fix it - only in CM12.0 it was working fine.
Rare times it disconnects while idle – or it happens often and it goes unnoticed.
Is there any solution I missed?
Things like complete factory reset / clearing cash etc are done with no change in the results.
Car has no update (it’s an Alpine NTG2.5 system).

Sadly, this is a wide problem with a lot of Android phones.
One of the fixes Ive read around is to not give so many permissions when pairing a Android device. Example I read: Someone's device would never connect if they shared contacts with their car. You can share contacts and have the hands free not working or not share any contacts and have handsfree working. Its a trade off.
So far CM13 seems little better.
What I can't figure out is the pattern, if there is one. Why sometime it works and sometimes is not. When I initiate the call from the phone or the car keypad, 99% it will work without a problem.
When I receive a call, its a hit or miss. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. The only reason the phone is not landed out of the window is the fact that reconnection is quick, so I get to answer the call from BT no matter what. But is frustrating.
I remember my first phone with this car was a (non smartphone) nokia. In that case from BT I could hear the selected phone ringtone and the phone did not ring at all.
With any smartphone from then on, both the phone rings (with its own ringtone) and the BT rings with a generic tone. Oh well ...
BTW I had zero problem with BT when I first bought OPO - but then it had CM12.0 I think.

SM-J710MN Bluetooth Snafu

I have a 2016 Chevy Trax. No issues whatsoever pairing the Bluetooth with my J7. Listen to music from the phone, take calls, messages get notified through car speaker etc.
Then I noticed about a week ago...the phone connection stopped working. I discovered it was not only my car, but Bluetooth headset too.
I can pair my phone. Music will play. If I get a message I can hear it. If I have Google Maps on I can hear the voice.
However, if the phone rings, I can not hear it. If someone is on the other end. They say they can hear me. I hear nothing.
If I press "Speaker" on my phone, I can hear the person through the phone and they can hear me. However as soon as I turn the Bluetooth back on...I lose them. In my car it says going to Private Mode....and I can hear through the phone. But as soon as I reconnect to the Bluetooth....I hear nothing.
I have tried everything...to no avail. Took out the battery for soft reset. Found all the Bluetooth apps in the "system apps" setting. Deleted all the caches. Disabled "Ok Google". Only thing I have not done is a factory reset. Last resort.
My wife has the exact same phone. Hers acts the same. Leads me to believe it is from the last update which happened a week or so ago.
I hope this makes sense and I hope someone can help!
Mike
I am having the exact same issue. Appears the call sound and mic aren't working. This update was to Samsung Experience 9.5
Same here. Bluetooth calls in my car stop working after last android update. No sound on call from both sides.
I'd tryed some suggestions from post on the web but nothing seems to work.
Waiting for a solutions from Google or Samsung.
