My jam is stuck on the serial screen
tried upgrading with imate original, wont see the phone
tried mtty d2s (from a working unit)>NTRW READ FROM sd, ntrw WRITE TO SD, it freezes on boot,
the mtty intracts with the phone: here :

ok seems i have a shot bootloader, when i try d2s, the screen goes blank.
s2d dows not work with jam
rbmc is locked!
erase is locked
password >> need a password to do much of the writing commands
lnb >>not allow operation
in short, there is no way(from where i stand) to flash this thing, attempting to flash with SD returns a frozen set, same SD was able to flash another unit.
any clues ?????

My probs started after flashing the UK ROM of the I-mate in to my MDA Compact.

I can't flash my MDA compact Backup ...
What could be the sollution?!!

can you do d2s from mtty ? if so, you are in luck, you can still revive your set. if not, try the warranty option something i do not have.
Try d2s, if it works, stop, download the backup from the xda ftp, use ntrw to write it to SD, then put your set in boatloader mode with the SD in, wait 7~10 seconds, it will ask you to press power to flash, & you are there.
if you cannot perform a d2s, your screen goes blank when you try, i do not have a solution, nor does anyone else, so far... either wait, OR try the service center.

You were right, MTTY is still working. I finally got it working again. It took me several methodes.
I got it in serial mode after flashing it with this ROM (it couldn't get out serial mode) --> http://www.cddnet.com/Support/ma_cdlsku12_wwe_10300_163_10100_ship.exe
The backup i made didn't work. But an other way worked:
The other ROM's didn't work but by first updating the radio file form this ROM --> http://www.clubimate.com/Support/ma_cdlsku1_wwe_10300_143_10100_ship.exe
and then doing the setup complete (ms, nb and radio) it finally worked!!

i have the same problem when i tried to upgrade.
now im stucked with the serial screen, and youre method doesnt work for me, it says unsupported format when i dubble click at radio_.nbf
and when i run a full upgrade it says Modell ID error.
hope someone can help me

I recent have an error while Upgraging my Jam whith latest firmware..
Evrithig goes ok but after stage 1 I ve got DAWN screen
And my jam has not worked anymore ..

I have the same problem with my T Mobile MDA Compact. My Compact does not work anymore, too. When I try to turn it on, it does not. It turns on the Bootloader mode. On the screen; at the top it writes "Serial" and at the bottom it writes "v 1.00" and thats all, it does not turn on anymore.
It occurs when I tried to flash my German ROM to English ROM.
Once I solve the problem I will inform you. Please inform me if you solve the problem.

Hi Guys. I have absolutely the same problem see http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=19548 here. Try one thing. It´s not solution, but for me working as emergency solution. Try to pull a little bit back battery cover to disconnect battery for a second and then push it back. Try to push on/off button. Device should start. And never do a soft reset by soft reset button or by software reset button. Always use back side cover or the device start in bootloader meno again.I alread try almost everything to solve the problem and no way. Even my compact cant read backuped SD card. That´s why I have only this emergency solution

I don't have this problem myself, but I read on this forum somewhere that connecting your Compact to to USB cable and running the update program again should fix this error. The error bascially means that the ROM upgrade failed. re-connecting and re-running the upgrade program from your desktop pc should work. Good Luck and let us know whether it works. In several other threads the problem is mentioned and fixed, so do a search.

It will work, trust me
When you see that "serial" and "v1.00" thing. That's means you are half way there already. That's in boot loader mode. When you take off the back cover (battery cover) and put that back, yeap... it'll work. Somehow that bypass the bootloader mode for that particular "restart".
What you need to do is. Just reconnect back and do the flash again, since you would have rebooted your desktop pc or laptop (the one that used to flash your Magician).
For those who encountered similar problem, restart your machine (desktop pc or laptop). then reconnect back. Try run the update again. This time, it will not be able to detect your current ROM version cause of the "boot loader" thingy. Just flash it... yes, you'll get it. Give it a try. I've done on mine and so do many others. Have fun.

I had the same problem. My desktop computer shut off during the update and the second time it stoped in the same %.
I solved the problem switching computers to my laptop.

My qtek is .... NO! HELP me please!

A disaster!
My very good friend (Qtek S100 Italian) have a big trouble!!!!
Now it's on boot loader and no way to go out
I think that the rom was f**ked, I try with a SD with the rom(I used Multi-port/USB TTY Ver1.11a to do it with another Qtek) but the PDA don't show the download menu
I tried with the original ROM from Dangard but the program say that the rom was not for my device
I used the MaUpgradeUt_noID, but it's not working
the pda screen is always on boot loader, changing only from serial to USB (when I Connect)
I don't know if I can use Multi-port/USB TTY to solve my situation, I tried to use the lnb command but the answer was that I have not the permission
By the way, I disconnect the battery and wait, but when I give power I have always the boot loader
Any way to help me? tnx

Upgrading/Downgrading Radio Stack: Error 114

This is driving my crazy.
My Magician (imate Jam) have a radio version 1.13, I wanted to flash the WM6.1 rom but I got the error mentioned in the title.
I've tried almost every other rom that have the radio version 1.12.1 but none worked, always error 114. I've also tried the radio only updates from the ftp but it's the same error (I've tried version other than 1.12.1, including 1.13 the one I have).
My bootloader is version 1.00 if that matters.
- Can anyone give me something else to try?
- Would an SD flash help?

I hate bumping my own threads but I'm really stuck here.
I'm still out of ideas to try. And I couldn't find an SD image that I could try to flash and see if that could help...

Do you have an SD card inserted.
try removing it before you flash.
i just had the same problem and after removing the sd card it went no problem

I do believe that I tried iwth and without a card inserted but I'll give it another shot just to make sure.

The device is unlocked.
Flashing any rom works as long as I remove the radio_.nbf file (that applies to the 6.1 rom but obviously it won't run with 1.13 installed).
Otherwise, if I keep the radio file, it just hangs for a couple minute and then exits with the 114 error.
I've attached the log from an attempt to flash your HTCMAG_ROM_WWE_O2 without an SD card inserted in the device. I've renamed the file to txt to be able to attach it.

Seems like there's no software solution to my issue, I've been seraching nonstop and I found someone on different forums saying that the error I'm getting means that the Flash-ROM cannot be erased and rewritten, so it needs to be repaired (or changed).
Looks I'm suck with what I have. (But please correct me if I'm wrong).
For reference, this is what I'm getting:

Error 114 solved for me!!!!
Hello.
I had the same "Error 114" and "Error 113" updating to WWE 04 cotulla rom (thanks a lot for your work!).
The problem was not enought battery!!! The Magician uses the battery in the update process and the USB charge/power supply doesnt work during the proccess, so, if you have low battery power, the rom write/erase cant be done.
I couldnt charge the battery in the Magician after "Error 114", but a friend has another PDA with the same kind of battery and, after a full charge in his PDA and a battery exchange, the update process finished successfully.

i've solved the problem installing activesync, leave it opened and uncheck "allow usb connection" in activesync settings

Same problem here ... the batery is to low but !!!! you can charge the batery with the unworking phone:
Plug usb power supply in and remove the batery case on the back. the red light will turn on and the device is loading batery.
Your 6.1 image is flashed now !!! great man ! you rokk

Magician always in flight mode

i have an old magician and i was using it with no issues
i have following rom/radio installed
ROM 2.03.TX WWE
ROM date 07/07/07
Radio ver 1.13
Protocol ver 1337.43
Extrom version _______
few days back my magician suddenly toggled to flight mode while i was sending text messages. i tired to turn off the flight mode but no us. it just turns on blue tooth and then an error appeared."please turn of the flight mode first!" and it goes on.i tried deleting all storage+hard reset but off no use
can some help me out.

Try another RADIO,for example,downgrade to 1.12?
Sometimes Hardware problem will make this happed but sometimes it is the ROM Error.

i have downloaded 2 roms with radio 1.12

Find a RUU_NoID version

i was trying to flash my jam with radio 1.120 and what ever rom i had tried (so i could later own flash it with cotulla's roms) it says "country id error"
but when i had tried with radio 1.1210 it continued and flashed. but my phone is still not working. it is turning off the flight mode but there's a cross upon icon and its written "the phone is off" it turns on the blue tooth and kept on displaying "please turn off the flight mode first"

You can download WWE_O3 and remove radio_.nbf(If exists),then run update.exe
Cotulla's ROM can work with 1.121
