SPV dont turn on, not even with soft reset

Every 5 or 6 days, depending on how much i use my SPV M1000, when i try to turn it on it doesn't seem to work, then i press the button again and still dont work... when I try to make a soft reset it completly shuts down and there is no way i can get it back on! Only if i hard reset it... thats a pain in... you know where!
Can someone help on this?...

Can you give us some more details, rom version, software installed etc... I have an M1000 and I experienced similar problems, particularly with 1.66.230 ROM (MMS) it kept messing up SMS and freezing. I now use a custom ROM 1.72 set up for Orange UK that NinjaDonkey created.

your not the only one with this problem,
we have about 30 of these (spv m1000) and a couple are having the same problem,
the only solution being a hardreset.

Well... here is some information that might help...

I had the same problems with 1.66.230. Have you tried the other ROM from the orange website (without the MMS) It came on my replacement phone a few weeks ago and it seemed to work a lot better. I think the ext rom version is 1.66.200

I think I've killed my o2 mini!! Pls help this poor fool!

OK. The story goes like this....
I recently (about 4 months ago) bought and xda II mini. Love the phone, works(ed) brilliantly. Previously owned and loved an xda II and the mini has not disappointed.
So the phone’s working fine, and I’m bored one day and am cruising through the o2 website. I see there’s a ROM upgrade for the mini (1.11.00 WWE). I download and run the software which works a treat. All was just fine for about 3 days…until last night.
After using it for a voice call I press the power button to put it into sleep mode. The phone freezes. Not thinking this is overly strange I do a soft reset. Not suspecting that all is not well I put the phone down. After about 10 mins, I notice the backlight has gone off but it hasn’t gone to sleep. Strange. I touch the screen. Frozen. A couple more soft resets later I realise that once the backlight goes off OR I press the power button, the phone freezes. So I do a hard reset. Same thing. Uh oh.
I decide to run the ROM upgrade software again hoping this will rectify the problem. It gets worse. There’s no ExtROM on the phone. Now I’m at a loss. What’s gone wrong? What did I do? Why isn’t the ExtROM being installed?
Can anyone please help me install a clean 2003SE WWE for an o2 mini on Optus in Australia, or am I up the proverbial? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. I’m not keen on sending it to Queensland for repairs.

IMATE JAM is DEAD, does not boot....
I also have a similar problem, the story goes like -
My IMATE JAM was going perfectly fine, it also had the latest WWE ROM, no issues. Now for some reason, I download from www.pocketgear.com and install the trial version of "Pocket Mechanic" which also installs "Pocket Hack Master 2005". While trying out Pocket Mechanic, I use something called "registry cleaner" which is supposed to cleanup any incorrect/unused registry entries. After this I try "Pocket Hack Master 2005" which is a software to test the CPU speeds. As soon as I run this program, the screen freezes and my phone is dead. I try and reboot the device, but it is stuck at the blue boot-up screen. I am unsure whether my PPC died because of registry cleanup or because of "Pocket Hack Master 2005" software.
Anyways, now, I decide to re-install the WWE 1.12 ROM and start using the device. But, no luck, on the PPC - the blue boot-up screen does not go away and on the installer screen - "Checking information on your device... Please wait...." and is stuck.
I think the device is not booting up and hence is being not recognised by the PC as a USB device.
Please help... I am dead...!!!!

Well, in case anyone's interested. It appears the phone is back to normal. I trawled and trawled through this site and picked up tidbits of information on how to upgrade a ROM. I downloaded 1.12 and tried installing that which worked as badly as everything else I tried.
I decided to install the Asia shipped ROM (1.11), the instigator of all this mess, but via NemesisDE's method on page 4 of the sticky, instead of running the .exe file as per usual. For some reason, it appears to have taken it!!!
Yes, I'm excited. Even though no-one responded to my post, I got the info I needed from this site. Thanks so much to everyone who contributes here. You'd be surprised how some seemingly ridiculous things, help novices like me.

XDA Neo problems, stuck at ipl, spl, gsm screen, bluetooth not working Please Help

Hello friends, this is my first post in prophet forum, though I had been a ppc user for more than 2 years. 5 months back, I bought an O2 XDA Neo, which was loaded with a dopod rom, with numbers coming up as 2.09.001 etc during startup. Shortly after purchase, I flashed with RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_QtekWWE_Ship rom. Everything went on well, and I was using the phone without problems for the past 2 - 3 months. Well not exactly without problems, some times when I reset the phone, it gets stuck at the spl, ipl screen, and I have to reset again many times to get it to load windows. I initially thought the problem may be due to the battery not being charged fully, but later I found that battery charge is not the problem, as the phone not booting became more and more common even with a fully charged battery. Even when I managed to get the phone started after repeated and frustrating soft resets, I started to get corrupt PIM data, like the contacts and calendar applications not starting up. ALso strange folders with name y? and y?? appeared in the phone memory. THese folders could be deleted only with Resco Explorer. Also the bluetooth was not working properly, that is when I turn it on using the comm manager, the blue tooth icon gets activated but actually no bluetooth is turned on. Later after a soft reset, bluetooth turns on but now the icon in comm manager is not activated. I did a hard reset a couple of times thinking that this problem will be rectified, but all the problems continued.
Going through the forum i read some where that JAMin_WWE_213923_2139123_022021_ship was one of the most stable roms for this phone, so I set about flashing this rom. I used ROMUpdateUtility-NoVendorID and the update went on till 95 % when it showed error 326. I tried again, with the same result. I later flashed RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_QtekWWE_Ship back, and the phone is working as before.
NOw I would like to get the following problems corrected
1. Phone getting stuck at ipl, spl, gsm screen
2. Proper working of bluetooth as I would like to use it with my BLueant Supertooth II
WHat will be the correct these prolems ? will the imate rom correct these problems, if so how am I to go about loading it ? or is there a better one than what I am having now ? or is it a HARDWARE problem ?
I am very sorry for this extremely long post, but I felt if I said all my problems in one post, I would get better response.

You should have stayed with the RUU_Prophet_220734_2207114_024721_QtekWWE_Ship ROM from the beginning, since it's the best and also latest official Prophet ROM. It's a 2.20 ROM which is the latest available.

I am still with that ROM. It is with this ROM that my prophet is causing the above problems.

Can you guys advice me how to load JAMin_WWE_213923_2139123_022021_ship rom with out this error 326 showing up ?

TC stuck in tricolor screen whith update error

Hello girls and boys,
yesterday my TC first stuck in tricolor screen and shows
POLA100 RUUNBH
SPL-1.25.0000
CPLD-2
and downwards: USB or SERIAL
It happened as I tried to flash back the original Radio for it. The update monitor showed ERROR 262 (0%), before that I had already installed signed_RUU. for original German WM6-ROM and it worked fine exept the decreasing GSM connection.
After that I searched here the whole night for solutions but none of them (MTTY, Radio Murata, UN-SPL, flash Radio or OS from microSD) helped.
I guess it's all I am able to!
Maybe one of you guys can help me?
Or can anybod tell me whether my TC is dead?

Maybe someone can tell me where I can get the original German RUU....ship.exe for Polaris.

Did you install HardSPL before playing around with your phone?

Yes I did, and it worked fine exept the bad radio issue.
My TC started to hang as I tried to get back.

need help-are these windows errors?

hi guys
new to this forum and novice to pda mobiles.
i have imate jam with windows 2003 installed in it. story starts when i installed a ringtone which was running normally in the begining. today when i recieved a call, my ringtone started with a distorting sound then went silent. since that time till now my phone doesn't ring i.e it doesn't play any ringtone though i tried to change it.
secondly, there is also a "clicking" problem. when i click on the desired number it clicks and presses the other number, sometimes next to it or in any other direction.
are these windows errors or hardware? kindly help me to sort out. waiting for your replies friends.

i think these could be two seperate issues. Regarding the sound, if you turn the volume all the down, does it stil make a small click noise when you tap the screen? if so you loudspeaker is on its way out, i had this problem with my imate jamin (prophet) . i googled ebay and found a replacment for £5 inc p/p. it took 20 mins to fit then all was good.
Have you tried hard reset? (after backing up?)

no sound at all whether i turn down or up the volume. already did hard reset. shall i install new fresh windows? and what about the other "click" issue?

If the sound was working b4 it wont be a rom problem, but if it never worked after a flash, then it might be worth a try but with a different rom though. Sound like you have a hardware problem with your loudspeaker. Goto ebay and see if you can buy a new one, i did for my jamin

i know u ppl r very busy but if possible then plz u or someone direct me to the ROM fit for my imate to give it a last try before ebay.
i have searched the entire forum in these days and what i found is u cannot upgrade imate jam ROM to any other version of windows. i have read here that installing incorrect ROM will lead to crash of ur phone. as i said i am not a computer pro (am a doctor bought jam just for internet for medical resourses) i even didn't know what is ROM but now understand a lil bit abt these terms though
so plz if u or anybody here can just direct me to imate jam compatable ROM (or even to WM 2003) then it will be a great help for me and i'll really appreciate it. meanwhile, i'll try again to find somethign here.
