registry question...IMPORTANT - General Topics

hi
in connection with making our own reg hacks..i was wondering if any one knows where does the info goes after entering serial numbers for any app..i tried looking in my reg but didnt find any changes....
thanks

depend on the program some may put the info in an ini file some may add to a bin file could be any number of things

Some progs don't put it anywhere. They just remember the fact that you correctly entered it.

looking at "\windows\startup" folder will solve the problem if I understood right

I thought so, too, but nothing about the missing .exe file is listed/mentioned in the windows\startup directory. :?
Did you check the contents of the links? Maybe one of them leads to the missing exe.
If not, get a registry editor (like PHM) and check the content of the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Inint key.
BUT BE CAREFUL!
Deleting the wrong value from this key will lead to hard reset!
Get hold of a copy of MemMaid. http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=14279
It will work under evaluation for 30 days.
When you have it installed, look at the "Notification Queue" - in here are the tasks that are started when a particular event occurs - such as waking up from suspend mode.
Thanks for the info, guys! I wound up hard-reseting it, anyway - I had played with a lot of different software and had a lot of "remnants" on it, but knowing where to look in the register and learning about memaid will be useful later.
Thanks again...

FAO Chef's - Limit on number of RGU's?

Is there a limit buildos can cope with?
Ive got about 65 RGU files, for some reason the very last one I have created it doesnt want to import.
The buildos log shows the line -- adding packages\018878ca-6892-11dc-8314-0800200c9a66.rgu
but for that particular rgu i dont see the line below I would expect to see
importing registry file ".\Registry\018878ca-6892-11dc-8314-0800200c9a66.rgu"...
Very strange, i even tried copying another RGU that is working, slightly changing the contents and giving it another UUID however still same thing happens

help with reg key for PPC Monopoly

Ok I need some help as i have tried everything i can think of. I have my reg key for my PPC Monopoly, which i have sitting on my SD card.
What my problem is that i want it to keep the reg key when i am tying new roms, but i have to enter it each time i hard reset. Can anyone help me findout where this key is stored.
I have tried checking the registy with no luck, i thought maybe it is stored in the eve file of dat file, but no i am not finding it anywere.
Does anyone know where this reg is stored, so i can work out a way of having it there all the time!
PM if you can help!
I have other games i want to do the same!!!
It probably is stored in the registry, but encrypted with a one-way algorithm.
well i thought that it would be in the regs aswell, but i have not found anythihng that is close to be the right one!

Empty Start Menu, how I fixed it.

Trying out some complex "homescreens" got me in trouble with the start menu.
Restarting my S730 I found out that start menu was simply empty: no icons no text.
After a while experimenting and google-ing (did not found anyone fixing the problem... someone simply did an hard reset...) I succesfully fixed the problem editing the registry:
I browsed to the key
HKLM/Software/Microsoft/Shell/Rai/:MSStart
and renamed all contained values named BKBitmap* (I do not love deleting registry values/keys..) adding some leading char.
Then restarted the device.
Hope this will help someone there out....
You renamed all contained values named BKBitmap* with what name?
Did you use a program for editing the registry?

synchronisation

Hello out there...
can anyone help me to find a way to synchronize (a) specific folder(s) via active sync. Maybe by changing some registry keys? I tried changin the "Briefcase Path" in [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services\Partners\*******\Services\Synchronization]. But it's value always gets written back to the initial value automatically...
Thanks a lot for any suggestions....
Wow..that's depressing...nobody any hints to help?
Or am i at the wrong spot with my posting?
