MDA Compact upgrade in one package

Hello, i have done lot of reading there about all upgrades on our Magician's.. So for everyone who is new here to this forum, there is latest update available with easy few steps to upgrade
ROM version 1.12.00 WWE
Radio version 1.13.00
Protocol version 1337.43
ExtROM version 1.12.131 WWE
It's an IMATE ROM, with CZ (Czech) customized ExtROM. so anyone who want to cook his own ROM, just
download this file > http://live61.com/mda/yourownEXT.nb1 and follow Extended ROM steps above
It's complete Dump of my device, including CE ROM, EXT ROM and RADIO STACK. This update flawlessly worked on 3 devices i had in my hands.. So I hope, it will help you with no problems. (no need to change any 440bytes and other 'hacks' found there in forum).
Install is so easy
1. download NB1 file http://dc.live61.com/mda/Imate_WWE_1.12_1.13_1.12.131.nb1
2. write it on your SD card (at least 128mb) with NTRW application - "ntrw.exe write Imate_WWE_1.12_1.13_1.12.131.nb1 g:" (g: as your SD card drive letter)
3. insert SD card to MDA, and enter bootloader with CAMERA+POWER buttons together with RESET
4. after about 8 seconds you will get message with "Sections=2, press Power.." so press Power button and wait until "Checksum OK" message appears. Then reset your MDA
Thats it!
Customized Extended ROM
1. install this plugin to your Total Commander. (restart of PC needed!) http://live61.com/mda/VirtualDisk_1.30b2.rar
2. mount as an virtual image yourownEXT.nb1 file
3. make here your desired changes and unmount it
4. run WinHEX, open modified yourownEXT.nb1 (ouch.. i know, you need this.. http://sweb.cz/ftp1/WinHexSerial.txt)
5. select whole file with CTRL+A and copy to clipboard CTRL+C
6. open Imate_WWE_1.12_1.13_1.12.131.nb1 file, go to OFFSET 2C0019C and write clipboard data with CTRL+B
7. save Imate_WWE_1.12_1.13_1.12.131.nb1 and follow Install steps

I made a SD card as You wrote.
When I make a HR, I have clear dark screen with "Serial" on the top and "v 1.00" on the booteom of the screen.
What is wrong?

i just bought a mda compact with t mobile few day ago,
it look like this

is anything that can be upgraded ?
and how can i get the 02 active GUI on it ?
or remove the Tmobile one ?
I did try to find the answers elswere but seam to be a tiny bit complex to find out. (probably my english
i used to be able to surf the internet over GPRS for free with the o2 payand go sim card, i still do with the 02 montly thought.

Upgrade??bigStorage??extROM??help....noobie

1) Problem:
was running on 1.11 with extROM 1.03, wanted to upgrade to TMO 1.13 but there was a country id error.....so i did a hard reset and reset again b4 it run the autoconfig thing. then the extROM folder came up(which i think is the bigStorage thingy) and no more extROM. tried the upgrade again but same result...so i ran the cab files or watever u call those in the extROM folder 1 by 1. some of which i think was needed for my mini to run w/o any problem.....now extROM back running on 1.11. So how do i upgrade.
2) Queries:
if i were to clear the extROM folder by copying them into my PC/thumbdrive/CD(for safekeeping,in case something bad happens), then copy the important ones into my SD card and run them...can my mini still work?
Been playin around a little but still need a lot more to learn. Can some1 please educate me.

There are two main thread's about upgrading to tmo 1.13
- upgrading to radio 1.13...
- tmo official 1.13...
You can find all the needed info there including a BS 1.13 rom available at the ftp & a patched shipped-rom also available on the ftp

You should download:
First part (~49Мб)
Second part (~32Мб)
You should follow these steps:
1) Turn your device on and connect to your computer. After that - run Step1_Prophet_WM5AKU2.3_lvsw_edition.exe
2) Don't unplag your USB cable. You should wait for splash screen and others dialogs (screen, region ..etc). If you see troubles with codepage - won't be in panick!
3) When you will see the splash screen and when ActiveSync will start to connect, it will ask you some questions. You should answer OK for first question and Cancel for second.(that's why you will be connected as giest)
4) You should run Step2_Prophet_WM5AKU2.3_lvsw_edition.exe and wait about 20 minutes. Attention! You wont see progress bar!
5) When the program write that your device was flashed, you should tap SPACE on your computer and make hardreset for your device.
6) Then you should wait for splash screen and other dialogs. After that you will see the installation of extended rom.
7) Thats gerat! You did it!

But with AKU 3.2 i have a big problem, there is sometimes no charge by usb cable! So i will downgrade tonight with this version AKU 2.3.
Hum, i have download your file, i unzip the file but the name is 2006-11-11_Prophet_WM5AKU3.2_lvsw_edit ??? 3.2 !
I have tested, its just a bad name, it's a 2.3 AKU version.

Very true.....i had the same problem on charging phone thru USB with AKU 3.2 beta and yesterday i downgraded to 2.3 ROM.....
I observe a very small problem with 2.3 ROM...that when i get diff. lang for option Set as Ringtone (using File explorer) when i select a media file ...anyone has an idea on how to put this in english...

Wireless Profiles kept after reboot?
On LVSWs other 3.2 version my wireless profiles are not kept after rebooting the device, can someone with THIS ROM confirm that they are either kept or not?

3) Thereis no GPRS disconnect button

Has this release HTC task manager to close programs with "X" instead minimize ? AKU 3.2 has, but not ClearVue.

no, HTC task manager only come with AKU3.2.

I'm surprised because i have installed now PDAMobiz_Prophet_WM5AKU2.3_v2330 and HTC task manager is present...but not in lvsw edition

Looks like a great release.
How does it compare to 16Mb_AKU2.3_GSM02.30.21_Extrom-4PDA.ru.exe? as im currently running this one.

I just configured my phone with the rom released on 11/11/2006... is there something to do If I want the latest rom (v20061112) without loosing all my informations and programs installed?
By the way, I have spb backup if it can help...

I just download it from HTC-hongkong web site, i think hongkong haven't release 6.1 official rom before, so that's a official release for hongkong I think.
This is what I get from the website.

Has anyone tried flashing this yet? I would like to give it a try, but I hate to be first.

Flashed HardSPL (Hard2) 3.29, changed Page Pool to 12 MB static, flashed.
1. Excellent voice quality and signal strength (due to radio probably)
2. Fast GPS fix ~30 from cold start (A-GPS enabled), <5 seconds when hot started (wow!)
3. Programs installed as usual - Voice Command insted of Voice Speed Dial
4. Speed - feels better than 3.29 or 3.28 ROM (which is very good).
5. Free RAM - low, very similar to 3.29 or 3.28 ROMs
GXMark 1529 (surely no 2D drivers )
After installing Directshow patches from lastest manilla GXMark jumped to 1592

radio gps fix UK not good slower then 1.59.42.15 will test further .

how long does it take to get a gps fix?

Stability... Performance..
I just flashed and let me say ... It is VERY VERY stable and fast. Not too many apps, you need to load your apps. I am very happy with performance and stability. GPS lock in less than 20 seconds. flash fast Internet access and streaming media is also stable. I am testing with adding TouchFlo; will report stability. I also added the 3D Drivers, but could not tell any Diff especially with GoogleMaps.

Can't downgrade the rom

Hi!
I recently installed the wm6.5 cotulla's rom for 64mb devices in my htc magician. But after give it a try, I want to downgrade to the original rom. But, when I try to downgrade to this rom "OS 1.12.03 / ExtROM 1.12.159 / Radio 1.12" (The last official ROM in spanish) I cant do this because it says: Error of ID of country.
Someone knows how to fix that?

Must replace ROMUpgradeUt.exe to MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe

I have got this same problem. *.exe file was replaced.

don't worry worry i'll help you.
but before we start, can you still go to the boatloader.? if you do then here we go.
extract the files inside your spanish rom.
it its the original rom, you should have these files:

then, open or run "RomUpdateUT.exe"
don't press next yet.!
download these file h--p://files.pdamobiz.com/ROMs/XDA/Magician/MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe and save it on where you extracted your original rom, it should look like this:

now open and run MaUpgradeUt_noID.exe
now you can press the next button and follow the instruction properly.

i've done this when i tried Cotulla's latest rom, and it prove to me that downgrading was easy as long as you have the original rom.
