XDA II Dropping Calls - General Topics

Has anyone had any issues with calls being dropped with their XDA II? It occurs really intermittently and seems to occur when a) power is lowish (less than 50%); b) when the Blackberry service seems to be doing something (never had this problem before upgrading) and c) when using a headset/BT/loadspeaker.
Call will just go dead and device becomes really unresponsive - so you try to hang up and it takes upto 10-20s and it's difficult to make the call again as I'm likely to experiecne the same problem.
Know it's a wierd one - anyone else experienced anything similar?
Thanks.
John.

Help on O2 XDA IIs

Hi I experienced a problem with the XDA IIs despite repeated replacement of a new one. Everytime when it was put on silent mode, with bluetooth off and on standby for sometimes (at least an hour or more without using it), there was no sound heard from the speaker whenever there was an incoming call or when you make a call on the phone. Apparently the otherside could hear me but the sound was very tiny. I think there is a bug in it as it happened in 5-6 new phones that were replaced by the repair centre. Anyone have similar experience before?
Cheers

[Q] Clicking/Popping when placing/ending calls

I'm on TMOUS and about 90% of times when placing or ending calls, my phones speaker will emit a popping/clicking sound. It's not really a deal breaker per se, but it's starting to annoy me more and more. I've only had the device for about a week. I've called HTC and they don't recognize that as a common issue, I've factory reset it, and I've loaded 5 different roms. The problem shows up in all locations and with or without wifi calling too! The audio quality is a little low but generally great during all calls on both ends of the line. This issue only shows up when I press call, or press end.
Anyone else experience this? Should I just return it for another unit?
Sounds like a hardware issue. Get a warranty exchange thru T-Mobile. Just make sure to revert to stock if ur not already.

The more I thought about it, the more it was bugging me that a $500 phone did that. So, I took it back and got a new one, guess what, no popping noises. Nice!!!

[Q] Skyrocket mic cutting out intermittently

Hi all,
Just wanted to put this out there to see if anyone else had experienced this. Using SGS2 skyrocket - stock 2.3.5 UCKK1 (rooted) and then updated UCLA3 everything (rooted) - When on a phone call after sometimes 1 minute and then other times 5 minutes my microphone stops working and the other person cannot hear me. I can hear them fine, but they cannot hear me.
Wired headphones work without an issue, but the internal mic seems to have an issue with my phone. a work around I read for the non LTE SGS2 works where you hit the speakerphone button and then they can hear you again and if you turn it off it buys you another 5 minutes or so on mic.
So frustrated with this that I am doing an exchange today on the phone.
Just wanted to see if anyone else had experienced and if there was a know n problem with the phone? Google and XDA returned very little.
Thanks!

Hey I too also have this issue, I had a temporary fix which lasts longer than turning on the speaker but it's still temporary, I have the skyrocket on Rogers and I called them in about it, apparently it has something to do with the network, they did some reset and told me to restart my phone and it worked for about a week or so, hope this helps, if anyone has a fix to this please reply
I read another case like this awhile back, try searching it up. i believe it was rma'd though
I have a very similar problem, I go "in and out" a lot. The problem is the noise canceling mic on the top of the phone by the headset input, I left myself voice mail on my home phone and while talking moved my finger gently over the tiny microphone hole and that causes me to go in and out.
For most turning of Noise Suppression in settings will work, for me it does nothing as if it is perma on lol except on ICS where it actually turns off (dont ask me I have no idea why)

Problem with pixel phone app??

Just wondering if anyone knows if there's been an update to the phone app that's causing issues? Over the last 4 days mine has gotten funky. It's sometimes hanging and I have to hold power till it reboots. Sometimes they can't hear me and I can hear them. Sometimes neither of us can hear each other. Sometimes it takes ages to connect, if at all. And sometimes it works fine. Just wondering if anyone else has noticed anything. It's come out of the blue for me.

I'm having the same issue. In fact I had a long call yesterday where suddenly neither of us could hear each other. I tried calling voicemail but could only hear it with speakerphone on. Seems to have started after the March security update was installed. Its basically making my phone unusable (I have to restart it multiple times a day).

Phone drops call, will not dial out until rebooted

Two times this has happened to me. I will be talking and about 3-5 minuets into the conversation my side goes dead, I can not hear them, but it shows as connected to call. I hang up, try to redial, but it will not actually dial out, just sits on the dialing screen. After I turn it off and back on it works.
Anyone experience this, or heard of it? AT&T Variant.
I've experienced something very similar; as with you, it randomly happens after a couple of minutes of conversation. I have also noticed once this happens all audio on the device is muted (will play tracks in the music player or video but no sound). once restarted all is well again. Does this happen on your device?
Furthermore, I have experienced the device restarting on a couple of occasions mind call. unsure if this is related or not?
international Dual sim variant
I experienced the same after setting network to 4G only. Switched back to auto and havent had this problem so far again.
The other side of the line hears lots of noise when this happened to me. I did call my own number the second after and got the same.
Fingers crossed this was the thing for me..
same for me....after call drops no audio at all...
only reboot fix the problem
it happened at least 4-5 times
i noticed that this problem occures whithin low signal area.
It happened to me yesterday after I got in the underground parking from our office. I tried to call someone from my car after I got out and it showed the message "Call failed". Strange that my former iPhone 7 Plus had the same issue. I am on Vodafone Romania.
i am experiencing the same issue. Every 2-3 days my S8+ mutes it self while on call and i have to restart. I am on Cytamobile-Vodafone Cyprus.
I removed my SD card, changed signal from Auto,2G-3G and 2G with no difference.
This only happens while on call and maybe on low area singals (cannot be 100% sure).
Seems like a software issue but Samsung has not said anything regarding this issue yet.
Try to install the 'Soundabout' app.. With no further settings, Just install it. Its something like all sound to be diverted to another output source... 4 days with this app, no symptoms

thanks will test also and let you know
I can confirm that Soundabout doesn't solve this issue..... The problem always shows up in my office, where i have a very low signal spot.
It happens about two times per week and always needs to perform a reboot in order for the sound to work again

Have you tried toggling Airplane Mode on and off instead of rebooting?
Yes tried that... Not working
Needs restart always.

+1
its realy annoying
Has anyone tried resetting the phone to factory defaults? Let us know please
I did first: factory reset, same problem.
Second: on support they replaced microphone, same problem.
Third: replaced board, same problem after few hours.
Problem is always the same: I can hear them but they can't hear me. If call back again everything is ok and working.
i think its factory fault they changed whole motherboard and the problem still happening most times, i have 2 phones same problem and signal full bar on both sim, waiting Samsung answer
My S8+ drops calls like crazy... What an expensive piece of crap.
There have been reports of Samsung's fps software causing unrelated modules to periodically stop working until reboot (modules such as iris scanner or WiFi internet connection).
As an experiment, try turning off Fingerprint Gestures and all fingerprint security functions in Settings, as well as deleting all registered fingerprints. Then reboot and see if the call-dropping problem goes away.
Spoke with some people today and seems that in Cyprus all of the users that reported this issue are with Cytamobile/Vodafone. Noone of the MTN and Primetel users are reporting related issues.
Seems that the issue is with Vodafone?? I noticed that in most of my calls the sound is clearing like switching to HD Voice so maybe this has something to do with it? With MTN and Galaxy S7 Edge i did not have that.
Hi,
Since my phone got updated to G955FXXU1AQF7 the issue seems to be resolved. I have been using the phone for 5 days now without any issues whatsoever. i will update if anything changes.
