Have you tried searching this forum or perhaps looking in the Himalaya specific sections?
I know for a fact there are some posts on this subject.

Does this site include the first XDA model not just latest versions?
Hi,
This is my first time to this site. As I look through the General forum I noticed that most comments refer to Models 1 + 11. I have just purchased from my daughter her XDA that she purchased over 2 years ago, she is upgrading, I just wanted to know if this site will be informative to me seeing I have an old model.
I understand completly that new models come on stream and forums like this will have a change in focus, I was just wondering if older units like my XDA are still a discussion point.
Welcome in the forum.....
I think if you had taken a closer look at the threads you would have seen, that there are many postings concerning the "good old XDA". Also there are many usefull information in the wiki.
Out in the world, there are many useres, that are still using this device.
Sure, the topics about the XDA I are not so frequently than for the newer models (i think that is normal), but if you have any questions i'm sure you get an answer....
Regards
Stefan
Thanks very much Stefan,
I did look through the threads, my mistake was I thought XDA 1 was a newer model then my plain older XDA.
I will now have much enjoyment looking for information on this forum and no doubt, pose more questions as I become familar with my XDA.
well i am new to this site and to be honest here its confusing me i am looking at a way to i think its called rooting basically some guy i know said about rooting his htc desire but i really dont understand what it actually is and also what it will allow you to do and i have the xda developers app on my phone but i am still confused on what to do etc
any help would be appreciated
chris
Welcome to forums
Perhaps if you enter to your device sub-section and have a deep read on the Wiki you´ll understand better.
Read, Search, Respect and Enjoy!
First of welcome!
I agree with orb. Go to your device subforum.
It might all seem complex at the moment, but you'll be up to speed in no time!
Just remember to search before asking dumb questions
Well i will have a look but its not easy when you dont know what your looking 4

Ok so I realized I posted in the wrong forum. How do I delete the post.. Lol..
OK I need an app developer or a Site that can find one.. I was turned to a pro developer site that quoted me thousands of dollars. If anyone can direct me to a site where I can find a decent priced developer I'd be greatful thanks

No, no, that's actually a valid question. It's hard to search for this kind of thing unless you know EXACTLY the right thing to search for. Believe me, I've been looking to hire another developer on two of my projects for months.
So far, I can sort of recommend vWorker. I haven't seen anything pan out from it yet, but here's hoping; it's gotta work better than looking potential candidates up individually.
I would search out the developers forum closest to the device you want to test it out on, then look for a experienced active developer...

Hi newbie here. Been testing roms posted here on XDA since 2011. Im really enjoying getting the best available for my phone. Im interested in learning more about android developement. Maybe some of you could have some suggestions on how to get started? I love all my Samsung devices and havent used much else. What books if any on the Play Store would be the best for getting familliar with the prosseses of developement for apk. Kernal and Rom? Also there are some pc tools that I would like to become familliar with. (Kitchen, eclipse, and others I may not have heard about). I have been hoping to learn more in this new technology. I've got here an enjoyable hobbie. Now I feel has come time to move up to gaining a skill. Thank you for your advice in advance. And my apologies if I've posted this on the wrong section.

I recomend you to read "Hello Android", 2010, Pragmatic. Yes, this is OLD book, but it is the easiest and straightforward.
