HOTMAIL AND OTHER LOG-INS - General Topics

I recently posted a message about having difficulty in logging into various sites. I have both successfully and unsuccessfully logged into this site via XDA1 and GPRS. However, I tried today to log-in to Hotmail via XDA1 and GPRS. I got the message:
"Request could not be understood status 400"
This is happening with lots of sites and webmail that I need to log into. If getting a different browser for my Pocket PC is the solution, which one should I get?
Thank you.

This is freaking me out! I tried many different approaches to access my inbox but get a Page Cannot be Displayed message each time. The only thing I can access is my address book. I've tried several computers with the same result. Additionally, my daughter's email is working great, so I know it is not a problem with my computer. I used to pay for Yahoo but they extended the storage capacity of the free service so I no longer need to. Just because it's free doesn't mean that thousands of people do not depend on Yahoo. I hope they take this seriously! This is a major impact to my family. Any word on what Yahoo is doing to fix this?

Problem viewing email messages

I suddenly am unable to view my email messages. I can download them, and they show up in the inbox, but when I click on them, nothing happens. I have three email accounts (Comcast POP3, gMail, and Hotmail) and have used them for years. I did make only one change in the past week to my phone, and I believe it does have some connection to my problem. I use Internet Explorer Mobile occasionally to visit some secure web sites that I cannot open with Opera. I hate the newest version of IEM 6.5, so I downloaded the older version that came with WM6.1 and that is when some of my problems started. At first, I couldn't open gMail. But Comcast and Hotmail both worked fine. Then yesterday morning I couldn't open Comcast but Hotmail still worked. Now today nothing will open. Any suggestions? Anyone know of a cab for the latest Internet Explorer Mobile 6.5 that I could reinstall? Maybe that might fix the problem. I know IEM isn't very popular, but I still need it for a couple of web sites. Thanks in advance.....

Exchange Server Sync Issue

Currently I have a Verizon TP2 running WM 6.5x, I cannot sync with my college exchange server for my email. (error security certificate on server is not valid) I have spent countless hours googling and forum searching
I did notice that when I was running verizons wm 6.5 I was allowed to sync, after selecting "yes" on the sync anway question box that popped up. Apparently this must be 6.5x issue. No matter how many 6.5x custom roms I flash they all have this one problem in common.
Anyone know of a work around tor 6.5x?
Did you install the cert on your phone? You can also try loading the url they give you in Internet Explorer (on your pc) and you can see if there are any clues as to why its not working on your phone.

setting up a corporate email troubles

I apologize right off the bat for this thread if this is a repeat, and I surely hope it isn't as I searched the forums looking for a fix, but I found nothing.
I'm having issues setting up my bosses Outlook email account on her new captivate. I enter in the email address, the password, the server/domain name, all the info that I have, and it says that connecting to the email server has failed. I'm unsure if this is a limitation of 2.1 or if this is a user error.
If anyone has had success setting up Outlook email with the captivate please help!
Do you guys use Outlook webaccess?
in my case I clicked on the manual setting and had to do the following:
domain\user name
password
server address (ex: mail.theplaceiwork.com)
and selected SSL
this routed it through the outlook web servers instead of the internal exchange servers which are behind the firewall...
make sense?

Are the email admin? Does your company use Exchange? Do you support mobile devices connecting to Exchange?

[Q] Getting FirstClass sync working

Hello,
I recently got a Lumia 800 - had i iPhone 3GS before.
And there you can sync your calender with ActiveSync.
But for some reason it doesnt work on Windows Phone 7.5
Any of you got it working or have some idea how to get it working?
Everytime i try - it just keeps asking for user and password, like it doesnt send it correctly to the server. Even got my username changed to [email protected] cuz I had an idea that it used <username>@<domain> you type in the account info. But didnt work either.
What server are you trying to connect to? I've used ActiveSync with several versions of Exchange, plus Google's implementation, and they've all worked just fine (including calendar sync). The most trouble I had was my office's Exchange server, which required that I provide a certificate on the phone... but the error message told me that, so it wasn't hard.
Note that username, domain, and server are all different fields and my have nothing to do with each other at all. Use the same settings you used on your iPhone and it should work, though.

Its a FirstClass mail server - that has a ActiveSync feature. I dont know much about the server part. Mostly schools and similar that use it as mailserver
There is no SSL support - so a certificate error it can't be?
I've been using ActiveSync for years with Google on iOS/Android. But I guess its the service that provides ActiveSync on our server that is the problem.
