Problem viewing email messages - Touch Pro, Fuze General

I suddenly am unable to view my email messages. I can download them, and they show up in the inbox, but when I click on them, nothing happens. I have three email accounts (Comcast POP3, gMail, and Hotmail) and have used them for years. I did make only one change in the past week to my phone, and I believe it does have some connection to my problem. I use Internet Explorer Mobile occasionally to visit some secure web sites that I cannot open with Opera. I hate the newest version of IEM 6.5, so I downloaded the older version that came with WM6.1 and that is when some of my problems started. At first, I couldn't open gMail. But Comcast and Hotmail both worked fine. Then yesterday morning I couldn't open Comcast but Hotmail still worked. Now today nothing will open. Any suggestions? Anyone know of a cab for the latest Internet Explorer Mobile 6.5 that I could reinstall? Maybe that might fix the problem. I know IEM isn't very popular, but I still need it for a couple of web sites. Thanks in advance.....

Battle of the Push services: emoze vs. mail2web

I haven't seen anyone come up with a good description of what emoze does yet, so I thought I'd contribute my own, and compare it to web2mail. emoze is in fact much more than just a pushmail service, it constantly is updating all aspects of Outlook (email, calender, tasks, ect). Changes occur almost instantaneously (<5 seconds via EDGE, i've timed it). Delete an email of your PPC, it deletes off of your computer. Change a meeting time on your computer, it changes instantly on your PPC. Everything remains in perfect sync at all times, as long as you have an internet connection on both ends. To reduce battery drain, you can switch to a periodic sync (every so many minutes), but obviously changes and email won't show up as fast then. Regular pop email pisses me off because there's no good way to reply to email you recieved through activesync. Emoze solves this. The only other way I know of to get this sort of service is to be a large business with a big, expensive MS Exchange server. If you manage your life with Outlook like I do, I highly reccomend this software. It works right out of the box (even though there's no box nowdays), just install the desktop PC software, install the PPC software, and it goes.
mail2web has most of the same features, with a few significant difference. It has better attatchment size (100mb) versus emoze's 1mb limit. However, the kicker for me is that you must use a mail2web email address ([email protected]), along with mail2web's desktop email client, to utilize mail2web. Emoze lets you keep your current email address, and your current desktop email client, giving you nothing to relearn, and better protection if emoze/web2mail were to go bankrupt and disappear overnight. Unfortunately, Emoze doesn't support all email clients, although they're working on it, so mail2web might be the way to go if you're running, say, lotus domino. I haven't actually used mail2web, so if I missed any advantages they might have, feel free to post.
Both services are free, so go ahead and try 'em. I have yet to recieve any spam from emoze. Don't know about mail2web though.

odd first post wonder who he works for
the main reason I am using Mail2web and not emoze is because mail2web does not require me to have my own PC on 24/7 nor installing any client on my PC. Peace out

Good point. That's a big plus for mail2web. Do you know some way to reply to your mail that makes it seem like you're using your normal email instead of a mail2web email address? I'd definitely switch if I could figure out a good way to do that.
You can do that, but you have to pay for it. That's how they get you to pay them.
does emoze support html mail? free mail2web accounts don't, because they have only exchange server 2003 running.
emoze has a pc client (outlook plugin?) which syncs over internet with the mobile version of emoze on my ppc? this is an advantage and a disadvantage:
the disadvantage has been mentioned - the pc has to run all the time.
but on the other side you are able to sync your mobile and your pc over air.
with free mail2web accounts you can only sync your ppc with the exchange server.
the mail2web email address is not really bad: within the settings of my usual mail account (arcor) i added a filter, which redirects a copy of every incoming mail to my mail2web account. that is not the finest solution, but better than nothing.
emoze battery issues vs mail2web activesync
i had emoze on my hp 6965 and on my htc x7500 and it works very nicely
the only few problems ive had is battery dies within 4-5 hours if the sync is allways on
also if you have pictures associated with your contacts it dosent transfer them back and forth i found, mail2web has no problem doing this
it really was nice to be able to push gmail over the air and have my desktop and ppc synced at the same time but if your pc looses connection ur off the air until you get to it and fix it.
mail2web is great since it keeps your battery life very long (i can have it on all day with about 2 hrs of talktime and about 20-30 emails a day) and still have about 30% left by the time i get home or to my car to charge it again,
but when you reply to messeges it dosent use the gmail address, which sux badly since i want it to use gmail,
the advanteges are you can hard reset your device and not worry about your info being lost or having to get home and save it its just allways on the server, which i like knowing all my data is safe,
ive looked into several other programs like pusheffect and i just couldent get it going so i uninstalled it,
the only other programs i found recently is the seven beta program, i downloaded it to my device and installed it even tho it says wm5 only supported, i had no problems running it on my wm6 unit, it works like a charm
and i get both my gmails, and my work email on it
my current setup is mail2web synced with activesync on my x7500 and seven for my gmails and work email,
also, the seven beta program does not notify you once an email comes in with any audio or the messege icon, it just shows
" [email protected] 1 unread"
so you have to keep looking at your unit from time to time to see if you have email,
push works great, alltho it seems like from time it takes it about 5 min's to get a messege,
I have frequent problems with mail2web
I have all mail forwarded to my gmail, then I have gmail forward everything to mail2web. Gmail frequently reports bounced messages sent to m2w. I'm going to try emoze. I suspect it will be a lot better. Since I have two machines (media server and tor box) on all the time anyway, that's no big deal for me, but there are other advantages to doing so.

Thanks for the heads up for the Seven Beta, just signed up and have now stopped forwarding my gmail to my mail2web account, they can now function as two separate items with push on both. As for seven not notifying me when new mail arrives, i can live with that.
Edit
Just sent a test email to both accounts, mail2web won by 1 minute and the PPC went beep for each message

Could you elaborate on this? I don't mind paying, but how would I set it up?

Gmail Java App Broke

With the past couple of roms I flashed, I cannot get the GMAIL Java App to work:
Heres my setup:
Esmertec Jbed Build 20070802.2.1
Newest Gmail Java from web.
I run it, enter user name and password, hit sign in and then it switches to the inbox view, theres no messages or anything and it says:
0kb Loading...
Then switches to 1kb Loading and I get the following Message:
Network Unavailable
"This program requires a data connection. Please contact your carrier, or visits the gmail for mobile FAQ on your computer for more info."
I have Opera Mini 4 (Java) installed and that works fine.
My ATT plan includes unlimited media.net. I have "fixed" the "My ISP GPRS" connection to use: wap.cingular, and the username to [email protected]
All other internet apps work fine.
Any clues or suggestions?
Thanks,
Rich
It's not your settings. Gmail does the same thing for my phone. When I directed to gmail.com/app using PIE, it displayed my phone as an LG U500? Something like that. Maybe that's the problem.
Using Google Maps, everything is fine.
Navigating there with opera mini, however, I never get to download anything. It just keeps redirecting me to the website seen on desktops, not mobile phones.
So anyway, yea...problem with the application, maybe?
Well the wierd thing is that the JAVA GMail App worked for me like 2 weeks ago.

New WM6.1 roms download sent items from G-Mail Pop?

Hey all,
Stop me if you've heard this one
some of the new roms are downloading my sent items from gmail into my inbox. I've never had this issue with any of the 6.0 roms. Anyone seen this or know how to fix it? I've always used pop because I dont like imap and have never seen this before.
I am currently using 3.14.DK.01 UC 2.0 Compliant WM6.1 Lite ROM, but I have also seen this on the UDK 6.1 rom as well
~Rick
The "fix" for this is to put in a fake email address right from the start. Let it fail the setup and then just edit the account after to what you need. Just an fyi though, this "fix" doesn't always seem to work. For receiving it is always fine but sometimes it doesn't send properly at all. There are other threads about this but I didn't bother to bookmark them. Another supposed fix is to put imap.gmail.com instead of smtp.gmail.com in the settings...I haven't tried this one.
same here
that isn't what he meant. gmail is working fine. all messages download perfect no problems there. but whenever a message is sent it saves a copy of it in the inbox. does anybody know how to make this stop?
I've tried the fake email and then manually configuring it, it didnt work on any of the other roms, I will try this tomorrow on this one. As far as the imap, I dont want to use IMAP, I like the way pop used to work. I mean if I have to I will but I want to try to get this to work the way it used to first.
This is the default behavior for gmail, it does the same thing if you use a POP email client like outlook or thunderbird from your desktop. I have never seen a real fix for it, on my desktop i used to create a rule that would move messages that were from me to my sent items folder. The only way I have been able to fix it on windows mobile was to set up gmail as imap.
yeah this is because gmail uses a thread type of system. As chambersaj said this happens on desktops too, as well WM 5.0 to 6.1 (all that I have used)
OK So on the rom I am using now, I entered a fake e-mail address to prevent it from auto-configuring, and now it works the way it used to. I know it does that for the outlook client, and thats fine, but it never used to do this on wm6, maybe it was just the luck of the draw for the roms I used.

Is anyone else having problem with yahoo mail?

I have been having problems loading up yahoo mail. I use the original opera mobile to load the desktop version of yahoo mail. However, after it loads, before I have a chance to do anything, it goes blank and then tries to reload the page again. It keeps doing this for no apparent reason. I usually have to manually stop the page before I can click on any messages. Sometimes the stop command doesn't even stop the reloading. Is there something wrong with opera, or did yahoo mail do something new to the site that prompts opera to keep reloading. I don't think I noticed this few months ago. Don't know what is new since.
I'm not having a problem with web access of Yahoo via. Opera. I have had a ton of problems using IMAP and use web as a backup and that has been fairly reliable. When I used Pocket IT on my Motorola Q, I often had to clear temporary files and even cookies but haven't seen that problem using Opera in my Sprint Touch Pro. You might try clearing your cookies and temp files ... (I dunno how to do that in Opera!).

Outlook Web Access Apps

I used to be able to access my work email through Touchdown but once the company I work for upgraded to Exchange 2010, it no longer works. I've tried several different methods to no avail. Instead, I recently started searching for a few apps that I could install for Outlook Web Access and found two that could be what I'm looking for and both cost about $5. Unfortunately, they don't include a trial period similar to what Touchdown did. Has anyone used either of these apps and if so, please provide some insight on how they work, etc.? The reviews are ok but I'd like to see if anyone could provide some first-hand insight.

EDIT: My mistake, I posted this in the wrong section. Trying to delete but it won't let me?
I am using Outlook web mobile but I cannot get it to notify me.
I know it says that if we can not outo login it will not work but does anyone have any work around that issue.
thanks
