My XDA ran out of battery and so I lost everything on it so I have to re-synchronise with my PC.
However, I cannot get past the "Align Screen". I an constantly tapping the four corners but once this is done and the cursor goes back to the centre of the screen, the screen doesn't change and I am unable to get to my XDA.
Urgent help please!
make sure you tap the cross in the middle of the crosshares
Yes, so I have found out after a lot of hard work!
Thanks!

I have just done a hard reset on my XDA. However, I am unable to get past the Align Screen mode as I align the screen but it won't go any further.
How can I get past this so that I can get into my XDA and synchronise it?
Thank you
Why isn't it getting past screen alignment? Is it not responding to taps?
V
My XDA responded to virtually nothing - I tapped the screen and it took 5 minutes to respond to every tap instead of instantly. I was advised to do a hard reset, but when I do the screen taps to align the screen, the cursor goes to the middle of the screen and nothing else happens so I am unable to progress.
Any help would be appreciated.
Ive this problem as you do,
Anyone can help?
please

Weird...
Are you using a screen protector? If so, take it off before alignment; it's possible that there's some crud stuck underneath it that's registering a tap, or something.
I can't think of anything else, besides a faulty touchscreen, or some dirt in one of the edges of the screen. Sorry.
Try reflashing the rom. If that doen't work then looks like you've got hardware failure.
kindly redirect me on how to flash the rom?
im very new
Thank you

i have XDA trion and apart of the problem i have with teh alignment of the screen which i find out that is practically unsolvable, i have another problem which is as much annoying as the alignment one:
when i tap on an area somewhere in the center of the screen it closes my window in portrait mode and opens start menu in landscape mode (obviously when i tap there it actually taps on the upper right corner where the X button is when in portrait and the start menu when in landscape )
that does happen only when i tap in a little area right at the center of the screen and seems to be different from the usual misallignment that i have (and many others )
can anyone help me please
thanks
welcome to the forum,
I recommend using the hardware buttons to go to start/settings/system/screen/align
and if that doesn't help, hard reset

i already installed a new ROM but still doesnt fix it ...
mabe i will have to end up spending 100 EU for new screen
any otehr suggestions?
sorry, I assumed you were new due to join date and first post, hence my first reply.
give us a couple more details when you post please, such as did you buy it brand new/second hand? if it's not new how long have you had it? has it just started doing this recently after behaving like a good pda for ages? or has it always done this? which rom are you running? and is it the official one?
anyway, you could try removing the casing and clean around the edges of the screen, I've read of dirt/grime getting built up and stuck, which can cause this problem. if you don't know how to remove the case (I don't either)-Google
good luck
One of my phones is an HTC Surround that i don't use that often but still want it to work. To the issue though, each time the phone is turned on (not powered on, just woken) the screen refuses to work on the right side. In order to get past the lock screen you have to swipe up on the left side. After that the right screen becomes 'active' only after you swipe the left screen again. The home button and the search button on the phone only work after sliding the left side of the screen down and hitting the back button, once that task is accomplished the entire phone works perfectly and no more issues develop. This has been driving me crazy trying to figure out why its doing this. I reset the phone twice, both through the reset in the settings and doing a hard reset. When neither of those attempts worked i put it in bootloader and flashed this release (http://www.filefactory.com/file/b48...S_1.03.502.07_5.51.09.06_22.30.50_RELEASE.exe) to it and it still continues with this wierd touch screen issue.
I could probably just throw the phone away and not care but i'd prefer to fix it and sell it. Plus its driving me insane trying to figure out the issue.
(apologies for the wall of text http://incredibly.ytmnd.com/)
I have been running ICS 4.0.4 v28b on my P925g for a couple months now. A couple days ago my touchscreen started being extremely picky.
When I factory reset the phone, touchscreen works perfectly until the screen turns off. the only inputs it will register are sometimes an unlock swipe and always the power down menu.
I have successfully tried a few resurrection guides but to no avail. I have done a few complete wipes with TWRP as well,
I have no idea what's going on. a little help or advice would be greatly appreciated
Check your power button. Could give permanent inputs. Try to click from time to time only the home button and see uf it mskes screenshots.

I apologize P-vlad, I'm a bit of a noob. How do you mean check the power button?
The screen takes input very sporadically. For example, when i have an incoming call, i can use the screen to accept or decline. After that I then have the use of my screen but no front keys. This goes on again until I hit the power button to lock it, then I have no use again.
It may be a hardware issue, i was looking through old help threads in this section where a user was talking about short circuiting the battery for the clock, i have no idea how, but that may be it?
Hey all,
Praying you can help as I'm soooo pissed at AT&T. So my wife's Galaxy S6 is only a 4 months old and for the last 2 months she has been dealing with this issue of her phone just randomly switching between apps and programs. For example her phone will just be sitting on the table and we hear a clicking noise (the same noise like when you text) so I look we look at phone and it's switching between messages, pandora, phone list etc. there is not set of apps/programs it chooses them at random. I tried shutting down some apps and no good. I called AT&T and they had me do a factory reset of the phone, no good. Took it to the store and they sent us to the service center for replacement. But when we got there they said there is water damage to the phone so we are SOL. Now i'm pissed, her phone has never been in water. She works at a hospital and when she comes home, all she does is wipe down the phone with a baby wipe and that's it. I tried to explain to them I understand where they are coming from but this is clearly a software issue. They are refusing to help us. I told them I work in the IT field and again it's clearly software issue or a lemon device, but they are hanging their hats on water damage of course.
So my question to you all, is there some way to roll back the software or to jailbreak it to fix this issue?
Has anyone seen or heard of this before?
Lastly I have this on video happening if anyone wants to see it i can text or email it to you.
Sorry so long....Thanks in advance,
Ryan
Sounds like screen issue whereby a portion of the screen believes it's being interacted with. Factory reset may be a good start. Backup anything you need to first of course!
Settings > Backup and a reset > factory data reset. Failing that it's a hardware fault and the vendor should advise where to get the device looked and and repaired. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply yeah we did that and no go. And like I said above they did tell us to go to the service center and they said cause the phone had water damage (which it was never in or around water) that they won't touch it.
You could try this:
Open the dialpad and dial: *#0*# to start "Testmode".
The test "Touch" will test your screen for touch events, just leave it, and see if something happens without you interacting.
Test "Sub key" will test all the hardware keys. The screen will change color if a key is pressed. Again, just leave it and see if the screen change color by itself.
Use doubletap on back-key to get back to menu.
Let us know the results.

Ok I tried what you told me. In "Touch" test the screen is white with a bunch of boxes that form a box with an X in it. I hear the phone clicking back and forth like it does when it's switching between apps/programs, but I do not see them switching on the screen like I normally do. Other than than nothing else happens. If I touch the screen the boxes turn green as I touch them. When I turn all the boxes green it takes me back to the main screen
In "Sub Key" test, the screen turns a mustard color and stays that way. Again I hear the clicking like it is switching between apps/programs but I don't see them I just see the mustard screen. If I hit the back key twice to return to the main menu the screen turns purple and then violet and then takes me back to the main screen
At the main screen, again I hear all the clicking but don't see the apps/programs I just see the main screen that appears after I put in the sequence you gave me.
There are many other options, would any of those help?
Thanks again!!
Ryan
Lastly it seems to happen far more frequently in this mode than when using the phone normally

Mustard color in sub key test means your app switching key (to the left of fingerprint key) is pressed down by itself. If all OK, screen stays black.

OMG awesome!! so now I know what the heck is going on!! thank you sooo much. Now is that something I can get fixed? I had a S4 a few years back and dropped it in water not once but twice. I had to take that phone apart a few times to cover it in rice and to replace a few parts (camera, mic, and antenna). Is this something I can do myself or can take somewhere and have someone do it or am I just SOL?
I would leave it to a pro, but if you feel comfy with disassembly of cellphones and have the right tools, go for it. Let us know how this ends.
