Rpair Centre in the UK?

HI, I hope someone can help.
I have an out of warranty Blue Angel (O2 XDAIIS)
Has anyone got contact details of anywhere that could do a repair please?
I have found reference on here to Anovo Digicom, but can't find any contact details... Any others that may be able to do a repair?
cheers
i just got my imate jasjar back from a company called sbe http://www.sbe-ltd.co.uk/ who are the uk service center for imate. very nice people but slow service (2 weeks!)
er... and it would appear they havn't fixed the fault...
http://www.htceurope.com/
just got a mda compact repaired by them they do mda and orange M range of phones, so they should be able to do the o2 xda.
To SBE's credit i called them today about the phone they failed to repair. They were ver appologetic and are going to collect it tomrrow and repair again all at their expense.

Did they repair it in the end?
I sent my I-Mate JAM back last Monday as the speaker and LED had stopped working (you couldn't hear the other party unless you used speakerphone). I got it back today and both faults are still there.
I'll give them a ring tomorrow.
Ultimatly they turned out to be complety rubbish!
The first time they returned it (two weeks and 3 chase calls) it was still faulty (and very obviously so QC?). The second time they took five weeks, six phone calls, 2 of which were direct to their customer services manager, and the threat of a leter to trading standards before they eventually returned it, albeit this time repaired. (they actaully read my leter this time are replaced the pcb as I sugested)
Completly useless bunch of apatentic, diorganised liars in my experience. You'd have more luck trying to repair your phone using tarrot cards and acupuncture than trusting it to SBE...
imate service
It would seem after reading a LOT of different forums that IMATE is great at selling products and ABSOLUTE **** and fixing their own products under warranty if AT ALL. Im glad I have an o2 xda exec. I would rather deal with o2 if mine goes faulty.
BOTTOM LINE DONT BUY IMATE anything, expect no support, no help, and nothing but excuses. Im looking at the QTEC, or DOPOD, or well anything other then IMATE.
I have read over 12 different forums, and everyone is upset with imate support (if you can call it that)

So no new answers to your question, i must admit i would like to find out as well as my warrnanty is due to run out and would like to know who does good service if i need repairs or should i just take out insurance instead

If you had insurance, would it be replaced or returned to somewhere like SBE for repair? :?

[Q] Sensation in water----Screen dim

Hi Brothers,
Yesterday i accidentally dropped my new sensation in water. I cannot wait for a long time to dry so i decided to heat it with air heater for 3 times. then i put the battery back the screen on but it was flickering i suddenly remove the battery and wait for it for half an hour. then i put the battery back. Now the screen is dim only i can see a little bit when room light is off.
I didn't touch my phone up till now.
Plz give me some suggestion what should i do and whats happened to the screen.
The key to fixing a soaked phone, any phone, is:
1) Never turn on the phone if you suspect water got in
2) Take out the battery immediately
3) Strip the phone as much as you can and let it sit in a container of uncooked rice or silica gel (must be filled & air tight)
4) Wait 3 days
5) Clean, assemble phone back together
6) Profit
7) ???

Every thing is ok....the phone is rebooting and touch is working only the problem is dim light
i think perhaps if you're lucky, only the screen is damaged, if that's the case, simply replace the lcd screen

We don't have HTC Repair centre over here.....
I would say u soak in in a bowl of uncooked rice for a few days. dont connect it to the charger and dont take it out of the bowl
also remove the battery and separetly put it in a bowl
if that doesnt fix it, you probably are looking at getting your screen replaced.

It will absorb water trapped in your phone via evaporation. Better yet is to get the stuff meant for humidity control that you put in moist rooms...I believe this is Calcium Sulphate. (CaSO4) It should be much better than rice and is available at grocery stores and home improvement stores.

Ok...i will search for it in the market. but i have doubt it may work.because this procedure must be first than putting the battery in phone when it was first time sink in water
I mean to say as i already put the battery back in phone when it was sink and dry and the screen became dim

Well, unless you have insurance, you are out of luck. I would look into repair centers that may be able to fix it.

Ouch! $53.00 just to LOOK at it?!
Sounds like you may be heading for a costly repair.(and big headache with all the shipping and customs crap) Another idea is to sell it as water damaged but partially working. Someone that knows how to fix them themselves may want to buy it from you. You could then use the money to put toward buying a new one.
A final idea would be to ASSUME it is the screen. Get a new digitizer and fix it yourself. (videos on the web show it being done). If this doesnt solve the problem, I would sell it for parts and save for a new one. I dont think I would give HTC all that $$$ and then wait for ages to get it back. (Or, HOPE to get it back AND working) Sounds like you will pay a minimum of $100.00 just to have HTC have a look at it. (Their FEE plus shipping both ways). I would go the self-fix method with a new digitizer.
EDIT:Not digitizer, LCD.

i have no idea to help you but,
Could you please post a picture of that cracked screen ?
cant post a picture as ive not got another camera, it would be hard to take a picture of it anyway, it is a crack right across the phone ;(
It's not just the screen but also the Gorilla glass you have broken ( Correct me if I am wrong ) so according to me you should go to Moto's service center as only they can replace your screen.

Great that you got it sorted. I dropped my Moto G from a small height today and the LCD has completely bled, I can just about use the phone. Annoyingly, not a single cosmetic scratch! Kind of surprised it got damaged so easily. Just to clarify, you weren't insured? I'm thinking of going down the route you've outline in order to get this sorted. Did you just email motorola and they commissioned the repair through SBE? Any details you could give of your process that might help me receive a free replacement too would be massively appreciated :good:
Mail them here, i have come to this conclusion.
Also buy a case, i will be now lol - I thought it was gorrilla glass.

I just rang up and explained the damage, they then emailed me the details regarding repair. The address for the the service centre is the same one used by the OP, SBE LTD, so I'm feeling hopeful. I'll keep you update with how it pans out :good:
Just emailed them and got a response telling me to phone a american number and that it would be $125, Hoping the wires have been crossed somewhere as this is no good in the UK!

Nah that's not correct. Here's the email I received when I asked about repair:
hank you for contacting Motorola.
We are sorry that you have been experiencing a fault with your Motorola phone and due to this we would like to suggest that you send your phone to our repair centre. The address for our repair centre, for our UK based customers, is:
SBE (UK) LTD
Unit 2A Motorola Repair Centre
Beaver Industrial Estate
Beaver Road
Ashford, Kent
TN23 7SH
When sending your phone to our repair centre we would recommend that you follow the guidelines below:
• That the phone is protected and cushioned within its packaging and sent for repair using a jiffy bag.
• That you ask for proof of postage at the Post Office.
• That your phone is insured against loss and damage.
• That when posting to us that you use a service that has track and trace.
In addition to the recommendations above we would also request that you:
• Keep a note of the IMEI number of your phone (this can be found on the back of the phone under the battery, the side of the box, or by dialing *#06# on the main screen of your handset).
• Please do not send any accessories with your phone including the battery, memory card, sim card, charger, back cover, original box etc with your phone. If any accessories are required then we will request this from you but please note that the repair centre may not return any unnecessary items.
• Please do backup any contacts, pictures, games and ring tones as there is a high risk during repair that these will be lost during the repair process
Lastly we would also request that you include a note with your phone with the information:
• A description of the fault
• Your name, return address and a daytime telephone number
• The reference number provided by Motorola which can also be found at the top of this email
• A copy of your proof of purchase (not the original)
Motorola will repair and return your phone free of charge under the warranty conditions. If in the event that your phone is found to be out of warranty by the repair centre then please be advised that a quotation and handling charge may be applied. Any damage caused by using unauthorised operating systems, tampering or altering the device firmware will void your warranty and you may be charged for repair.
You can expect the phone to be repaired within 10 working days from its arrival at our repair centre but please allow additional days for postage. Please also note that Motorola do not accept claims for losses incurred by customers not following the process detailed in this message.
If you wish to track your repair then please visit: http://extranet.sbe-ltd.co.uk using your IMEI number from your phone.
We fully appreciate the inconvenience that this has caused and we hope to resolve this for you.
For any further assistance or information please do not hesitate to contact us, quoting your Customer Reference number. We are reachable on 0870 901 0555 to discuss the matter further with one of our experienced customer service agents. Please contact us anytime between the hours of 8:30am and 6pm Monday to Friday and Saturday 8am to 2pm.
Kind regards,
Motorola Mobility
UPDATE
Just got a knock at the door from the postman with a white box containing my Moto G with a brand new screen replaced under warranty free of charge! This is despite my device having an unlocked bootloader. I'd urge anyone who is hesitant (as I was) to send off their damaged Moto G. Despite the poor reviews all over the net, it seems SBE are offering a quality repair service. :good:

warranty

i bought my phone in UK
but i live in israel i should reapir it
if i will repair in israel and they will open my phone and dont succed in the repair i will have still warranty in UK?
As long as the Israeli repair center is an Authorized Samsung Repair center, you should. Depending on the repair center, they may be able to repair it, but you might have a delay while they wait for parts.

Repair centre suggestions

Hi there,
I have the transparent backed 10th Anniversary edition Mi 10 Ultra. I recently cracked the glass on the rear camera and got a replacement. One of my local phone repairers fixed it, but presumably by heating and removing from the back (rather than tearing it down). A closer inspection showed that the new glass was not flush, and excessive heat has melted the rear cover.... Since then the glass has cracked again anyway!
So, now I have the rear cover and glass camera parts ready to be changed out, but am only going to take it to a reputable repairer. therefore hoping someone can give me some recommendations. I am in Ashford, Kent. Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Mark
I mailed Xiaomi support, but no reply yet. I just found this link https://www.mi.com/uk/service/support/materialprice.html
But not sure how to actually move forward with a repair (assuming they would take an imported phone...)
They actually replied with the name of the service centre, details below:
SBE Limited
It states on this web site that they do walk in out of warranty repairs, so have mailed them to see if this is correct.....
Just to update SBE Limited in Ashford will only service in warranty Xiaomi phones sold with EE contracts..... They definitely do not accept out of warranty walk ins....
Hi,
I think I had the same issue. Made a repair on a local repair shop in France and now the battery is a bit thicker. I think you should not heat the back of a Mi 10 Ultra.
This is not a good design from Xiaomi :/
