Carcomm or brodit mount and back pack. - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 Accessories

Do either of these mounts allow the XDA II to be inserted with the back pack fitted?
Thanks.

Brodit doesn't. Your device will only fit without the backpack.
Regards,
Mark

Thanks. Anyone here know about the Carcomm?

Hi!
Try ARKON Universal PDA Mounts, here:-
http://www.arkon.com/pdamount.html
I'm using one of them to support my O2 XDA II with backpack. Note that I'm not mounting it in the car but using it on my desk to watch TV using my CF TV card.

Thanks for that. I am looking to use a powered mount. Both the Brodit and Carcomm have had good reviews but it looks like the Brodit is out. I just need confirmation of the Carcomm used with the back pack.

Original HTC car kit & original extendet battery.

Just wanted to share my experience!
I bought, original HTC CU S170 Car Upgrade Kit for Touch Diamond. (see pic1)
Witch I love, it fits perfect, great design and build quality!
Then I desided to buy HTC Extended Battery with Cover BP E270 1340 mAh.
And I was curious if it's going to fit to the car holder. Becouse I knew it will thicken the phone aroun 3~4 mm. And it looked, like it could fit! I asked in one thread if maybe people tried it already, but no one replayed!
So, I got my extended baterry today, and I can tell you now, IT DOESN'T FIT!
So, I played around a bit with the solder and a knife. It kind of fits now, but bruzes the back cover a bit, if used a lot would scratch a lot. And the holder doesn't look that nice now (see pic2)
I am sure i mentioned this before in a thread that it doesnt fit and you need to buy the different head for the car kit for it to hold the HTC or any PDA.
what you need is: http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=142067
Herbert Richter GRIPPER 3 Universal PDA/Smartphone Holder, works with the same Herbert Richter arm grip
Yep, like I said in my post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3561219&postcount=13 there are two specific holders for the 900 and 1340 mAh batteries.
You can go for the holder that I changed to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=501678
This fits my 1800 battery so it shouldn't have problem with yours. Brodit holders are expensive though and you'll need to buy a HR/Brodit adapter plate if you still wish to make use of your windscreen stalk.

That's, what I'am going to get I hope it's going to fit my arm without any adapters
sh500 solution would work too, but this one is universal, so let's say if I get a diferent PPC, some tme in the future I could use the same car kit!
Well I'm totally against universal holders because more times than not they are big and bulkly - just my opinion of course. The HR universal will fit directly onto your existing windscreen stalk -without the adapter.
The adapter is this one :
http://www.gpsforless.co.uk/product_details.php?id=5771
It basically converts the Herbert Richter mounts ('four prongs') to accommodate the Brodit ('four hole') clips. You would only need this if you want to keep your existing windscreen mount and purchase the Brodit adapter that I have.

Can someone please recommend a Car holder that fits with the OtterBox Commuter for the DHD ?
Thanks.

Hi onlytests
You have a lot of links, but IMO you are missing the the link to the best which is DSL Developments | Brodit ProClip
Take Care

If you are look for an active Car Holder. I bought this:
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...esire-hd-car-mount-cradle-with-handsfree.html
But i opend the Holder (with a screw driver) and removed the Audio Plug because I'm using Bluetooth Headset.
Now I'm happy with it.

Car Mount Recommendations?

I just got my Blaze and about the only thing I miss about my Defy was the car mount I had purchased. Has anyone used a universal car mount that they feel works well with this phone? Preferably a suction mount. I know there's quite a few choices, which has me spinning.
Check out Arkon dash mount. There is a video on YouTube and works really well. I own one myaelf

I know this thread is a bit old, but in case anyone was unaware, there is an official samsung car mount for this device that docks/charges.
You can get it off Amazon for $35. As a new xda user, I can't yet post links, but search Amazon for the model number " ECS-K1G4BEGSTA ".

I use a universal suction type mount and it works great! I even move it to the side windows when I am parked and want to watch a movie. I have never had an issue with it falling off. It is the best one that I have found. Only issue I see is that it does not adapt to the thicker cases that I have bought or the ones that have a belt clip knob. Hope it helps!

That brodit looks good but too expensive
There's this thread already
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2114985
Cheers.... Not going to lose any sleep about posting this then as the mentions of the Brodit active holders in those posts are well buried.
Sent from my Samsung Note II.
it's in the other car mount thread.
Along with a non-fixed verison of the mount that plugs into the cigarette adaptor rather than the car electronics
It's here:
http://www.brodit.com/product.html?id=512495
and if you search for the part number online, you get:
http://www.holdersandmounts.co.uk/b...ve-holder-cradle-with-car-charger-512495.html
to my knowledge, they are not available for shipping...yet

They look good IMO, however I would prefer that I can stick these on my windscreen, it would seem that they have to clip into some holder & clip for your air vents or dash

Contact holders and mounts and they will fix it to a suction bracket for you, if you like
but its costly.
Sent from my C6603 using xda premium Ordered mine from Holders and mounts as well but i'm doing it this way.
Brodit Sony Xperia Z active holder cradle with car charger 5124951 30.83
Herbert Richter Adapter plate Self-adhesive to 4-Holes - 1471 1 2.49
Shipping cost 2.99
Tax 7.26
Then ordered one of these from Amazon.
Herbert Richter Short Gooseneck Windscreen Car Mount £4.99
Total £48.56
Doesn't look like it will hold the phone if it's in any sort of case though.

Active car mount

Could anyone suggest an active car mount for Nexus, which is easy to install and which is available in the UK?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
i have the haicom HI-254 car holder, works great and is cheap
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda app-developers app
I don't know that the above referenced holder is active, but the Proclip one is and it works great. I have the one that fits the phone with official bumper, and it exceeds all expectations, though is definitely pricey.
Oh, I got an email yesterday that gives 10% off:
"Enter AC Code: 05MOM13 at checkout. Valid NOW through midnight Sunday, May 12, 2013"
the haicom holder is not active indeed, just buy a cheap micro usb car charger
So what is the difference between passive and active car holder? Is it just that with an active holder you just do not need to manually insert a USB cable from the cigarette socket?
I actually thought that an active car mount activates "car mode" on the phone.
Regarding Haicom HI-254, I cannot see it is being sold anywhere in the UK.
