Best Bluetooth Headset for Xda2 - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 Accessories

I've just bought my Xda2 recently. And I want to buy a bluetooth headset to go with it. Any specific model or brand you would recommend, or to avoid?
Thanks!!

I use a Bluetrek G2. That's great! It's fully compatible with XDA 2. Up to 6 hours in conversation and up to 350 hours in stand-by. Everything in only 12 grams...

i got a motorola hs810 and its working just fine

I got myself a O2 bluetooth set for only $59,- and I am soooooo happy with this one. Previously I used a Sony Ericson HBH 35.

Thanks ppl for the information. I will go check it out!!
CHEERS

Jabras are good. They are the best fitting earpiece I have tried.
The rest make you look like Madonna on Stage doing vogue!

I prefer the Sony-Ericsson HBH headsets myself. I have the HBH-30 and it has worked flawlessly both with my SE T68i and my i-mate.

Got it down to three...

I have been reading a lot of reviews about bluetooth headsets for XDA 2 online and I have got it down to three. Of course, I want only one, so if any of you could throw in your two cents to help me decide which one.
1. Bluetake GII 400 (http://estore.pressd.com/cache/item-1484public.html?cache=no)
2. BlueTrek G2 (http://www.iseattlecommerce.com/mer...e=bluepear&Product_Code=G2.1&Category_Code=G2)
3. Jabra BT250

Bluetooth GPS Receiver

Hi there,
I have an XDA II with TOMTOM 3 but I now need a BLUETOOTH GPS RECEIVER.
Can anyone suggets me a make and model number that works well.
Also if you can point me towards any bargain/cheap unit I will be greatly obligded.
Thank u ALL
-
The original tomtom bluetooth receiver works very well, can be had very cheaply on ebay uk.
Plenty of good BT GPS receivers, see here for reviews.
I can recommend the Globalsat, Fortuna ClipOn, Leadtek (aka TomTom BT) and Emtac ranges.
Thanks for the info guys.
Pretty good reviews in the link.
I'm thinking of getting the TOMTOM (Leadtek) one as it looks very sleek and has good reviews.
WHats the opinion on that and how much should I be looking to pay for it!??
A good GPS, the Leadtek 9537 version is better as it has a removeable battery but it is otherwise identical internally to the TomTom badged version. eBay is a good place, around £80 or less would be ok on eBay, more from retailers naturally.
Someones offering me a AVL Bluetooth BT-15 for £70...what do you think?!!?
I'm reviewing one right now, it's known as the Purplegrid K2 BT here in the UK, www.easydevices.co.uk sell it for £82.25 inc of VAT.
It's OK but not very sensitive and It's not nearly as efficient as other BT units despite the headline '16 Channels' so I'd hold out for a better unit.
Excellet
Think I'll get the TomTom or Leadtek then......do you know any places apart from Ebay, where I can get it....
cheers mate, your a great help.....
Try www.totalpda.co.uk, www.easydevices.co.uk, www.pdamods.com, www.superetrader.co.uk and www.handnav.co.uk
i have been selling bt gps for months now!
i have some in tried and tested tom tom route 66 etc no problems, £70 del
works fine on my xda2 and sybmian devices

UPDATE
Got my Bluetooth GPS Receiver yesterday (decided to go with the TomTom/Leadtek version).
I am trully impressed....
Thank you very much Darren.
Also a bit off topic but I see that you write reviews on GPS units. Do you need anymore people to test and review stuff for you? I'm interested.....
You're welcome to submit a review for consideration. I reccomend you participate in our forums for a while and if you can think of an article or subject we haven't covered then perhaps you could author one?

Broken original headset - help !?

Hi folks,
apparently the headset that came with my XDA II device and which I use for listening to my music is in trouble. The left earphone is not working correctly. Most of the time it's completly mute but sometimes I get it to work by playing around and bending the cable right above or beneath the mike (the little thing you use to adjust volume, take and end calls). So I figure it's a loose connection/broken cable. To check on this I'd like to open the microphone part but I don't know how. It looks rather fragile and I don't wanna make things worse.
So what I need is a hint how to safely open this device. And if all fails maybe an address where to get a new headset. There are only a few original headsets on ebay and o2 Germany doesn't sell these headsets.
Thanxs for your replies.
Z.

the headsets on ebay work perfectly well and are a real bargain. bought 5 pcs for 1€ each recently, hope those will last as long as my xda (waiting for it to return from rma).

Searched for XDA 2 headset on ebay UK. Got nothing but the official ones selling at 8 pounds each which is still a major rip off.
Anyone here know of any places to get the official headset (or even an unofficial one that has the mic/control buttons on it?) for a cheap price?

USB Pin Connectors/ 3.5 mm Headphone Adapter

I wish to use a standard earphone (other than that bundled by HTC) with 3.5 mm stereo pin. But the problem is that HTC accessories are not readily available in India. Now what I thought is, can we not make a homemade adapter by cutting a mini USB cable and connecting / soldering it with a standard 3.5mm stereo adapter. In that case the microphone of course will not work. I have read at HTC site that the mini USB of HTC vox (may be all other phones of HTC) is a propreitory 11 pin connector. So can a standard mini USB cable be satisfactorily used ?
Anybody has any idea ?
This is what I use with my VOX

it works perfect, and I got it delivered to my home in India.
but I dont use it anymore cause I have got the new Jabra BT3030 bluetooth stereo headset which is so perfect.
Thanks Prajith. I am thinking of buying one.
Also ebay
Do a search on ebay for "USB audio adapter for HTC Vox". They are very cheap.
JK
BUY IT from XDA DEVELOPERS STORE
Its available in the store.xda-developers.com

@naidu001
you can get two of the connectors I mentioned in that price.
and hey it can be used for charging too, which the connector you mentioned cannot.
Rightly said Prajith your conector has boyh USB mini and 3.5 jack. Actually I purchased a few things from another site where postage was further cheap at $3 per item. But it seems that cost of the items are cheaper at the link shown by Prajith.
Anyway I am searching for an adapter with miniUSB, 3.5 earphone jack and microphone too for answering calls. I know this will be avaialable but the shipping costs are main.
@parthabhatta
talk to some of the other windows mobile users near place and buy this together. That way shipping cost becomes very less and they may offer a discount also. I had bought 30 of those, now I have only one and that too I dont need.
I would seriously suggest that you try a bluetooth stereo headset, you would never again use a wired headset. Ever!
Let me know if any of you folks have bought this miniusb to 3.5 mm audio jack converter for Vox from xda store. How easy is to order one from there?
I live in Bangalore. Is there any one knows which is the right place here to find it?

I ordered it from brando shopping. I don't remember the price paid but they have a standard 3 $ per item charge for shipping anywhere. The item will reach you within a fortnight maximum.
The url is probably shop.brando.com.hk or google with brando shop and you will find the exact address. No extra customs duty etc has to be paid.
Thanks PrabhatBhatta,
i went to Bangalore's National Market and tried a few adaptors, none could really work actually. Then i tried a final one which is the same as seidio one, which worked atlast for me. I bargained it for Rs160.

Bluetooth portable speakers for Nexus One?

Can anyone recommend a compatible bluetooth speaker for the Nexus One?
I tried my friend's wireless speakers for his Sony Ericsson Satio but my phone couldn't even detect it.
I'm looking at the Sony Ericsson MBS-100/200 at present.
What are you looking to spend? I use the $200 foxL by Soundmatters, but that may be out of your budget. Another I like a lot are the Ipevo Tubulars.

I bought the Yamaha NX-B02 when they use to be $39.99 with free shipping from Newegg a while ago.
Newegg: Yamaha - Bluetooth Wireless Stereo Speaker (Compatible w/ iPhone) NX-B02WH [CNet Review]
Looks like they've gone up in price. The MSRP was $199.99 and when it first hit the street, it was around $139.99.
Works great with my BB 9700 & N1 and even at $59.99, still a decent deal for what it does but when it was $39.99, it was hot.
Cheers,
Kermee
P.S. I've seen white & black versions of it, but I think I've seen other colors too.
Personally I'd wait until next month when Creative's bluetooth Z100 and Z200 speakers hit the market. They're supposed to be pretty sweet and priced well

Did you know the Desktop Dock for the Nexus One is Bluetooth?
You can use it without putting the phone in the dock.
You can manually connect to it and all sounds/media will be sent to the dock.
You can then use the 3.5mm headphone jack out from the dock and plug it into a stereo.
The nexus one dock is damn expensive. I'm using a case also so it will be a problem.
I only have limited budget, at only around $50.
I decided to purchase the Sony Ericsson MBS-200

I think you need to re-read my message again.
The Nexus One desktop Dock is BLUETOOTH. You do NOT need to put the phone in the dock to connect to it. It's pretty cool. And it's $40. And you can plug it into any stereo.
I was lucky and got one on eBay for $40 free ship too

It's also not portable as the thread title asked for. You'd have to plug the over priced dock in where ever you take it.
