Broken original headset - help !? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 Accessories

Hi folks,
apparently the headset that came with my XDA II device and which I use for listening to my music is in trouble. The left earphone is not working correctly. Most of the time it's completly mute but sometimes I get it to work by playing around and bending the cable right above or beneath the mike (the little thing you use to adjust volume, take and end calls). So I figure it's a loose connection/broken cable. To check on this I'd like to open the microphone part but I don't know how. It looks rather fragile and I don't wanna make things worse.
So what I need is a hint how to safely open this device. And if all fails maybe an address where to get a new headset. There are only a few original headsets on ebay and o2 Germany doesn't sell these headsets.
Thanxs for your replies.
Z.

the headsets on ebay work perfectly well and are a real bargain. bought 5 pcs for 1€ each recently, hope those will last as long as my xda (waiting for it to return from rma).

Searched for XDA 2 headset on ebay UK. Got nothing but the official ones selling at 8 pounds each which is still a major rip off.
Anyone here know of any places to get the official headset (or even an unofficial one that has the mic/control buttons on it?) for a cheap price?

USB Pin Connectors/ 3.5 mm Headphone Adapter

I wish to use a standard earphone (other than that bundled by HTC) with 3.5 mm stereo pin. But the problem is that HTC accessories are not readily available in India. Now what I thought is, can we not make a homemade adapter by cutting a mini USB cable and connecting / soldering it with a standard 3.5mm stereo adapter. In that case the microphone of course will not work. I have read at HTC site that the mini USB of HTC vox (may be all other phones of HTC) is a propreitory 11 pin connector. So can a standard mini USB cable be satisfactorily used ?
Anybody has any idea ?
This is what I use with my VOX
http://www.semsons.com/2miusband3st.html
it works perfect, and I got it delivered to my home in India.
but I dont use it anymore cause I have got the new Jabra BT3030 bluetooth stereo headset which is so perfect.
Thanks Prajith. I am thinking of buying one.
Also ebay
Do a search on ebay for "USB audio adapter for HTC Vox". They are very cheap.
JK
BUY IT from XDA DEVELOPERS STORE
Its available in the store.xda-developers.com

@naidu001
you can get two of the connectors I mentioned in that price.
and hey it can be used for charging too, which the connector you mentioned cannot.
Rightly said Prajith your conector has boyh USB mini and 3.5 jack. Actually I purchased a few things from another site where postage was further cheap at $3 per item. But it seems that cost of the items are cheaper at the link shown by Prajith.
Anyway I am searching for an adapter with miniUSB, 3.5 earphone jack and microphone too for answering calls. I know this will be avaialable but the shipping costs are main.
@parthabhatta
talk to some of the other windows mobile users near place and buy this together. That way shipping cost becomes very less and they may offer a discount also. I had bought 30 of those, now I have only one and that too I dont need.
I would seriously suggest that you try a bluetooth stereo headset, you would never again use a wired headset. Ever!
Let me know if any of you folks have bought this miniusb to 3.5 mm audio jack converter for Vox from xda store. How easy is to order one from there?
I live in Bangalore. Is there any one knows which is the right place here to find it?

I ordered it from brando shopping. I don't remember the price paid but they have a standard 3 $ per item charge for shipping anywhere. The item will reach you within a fortnight maximum.
The url is probably shop.brando.com.hk or google with brando shop and you will find the exact address. No extra customs duty etc has to be paid.
Thanks PrabhatBhatta,
i went to Bangalore's National Market and tried a few adaptors, none could really work actually. Then i tried a final one which is the same as seidio one, which worked atlast for me. I bargained it for Rs160.

Kickass Car Holder!

got this installed in my mitsubishi lancer ralliart! mounted it to my handbrake! there is a microphone mounted on the holder! just had to plug it in to the ciggarette lighter jack and a cable to the AUX on my stereo! and voila handsfree kit for 25 pounds!
really well made! fits the phone "like a glove"

was going to ask this question aswell? Does it?
I bought one of these when they first came out - really excellent, as are all Kidigi holders. The speaker and microphone are high quality, good enough to allow you to use it easily as a hands-free kit. No distortion to the speaker, but the colied cable is a bit of a pain as it can put tension on the cord clamp at the speaker end - I wish they's make these things with a straight cord!
Other than that I'd strongly recommend this active holder. Works brilliantly with SatNav as well!
It does not work with a case on - it's designed to fit the phone, not the zillions of different case designs that you can get for the DHD.
That is one big ass connector, i bought this one
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003SE6LD0/ref=ox_ya_os_product
so good so far.
I ordered one from that company. They did not advise me that they were out of stock untill they had my money.
I am still waiting six weeks later. I will not be using them again and would reccomend others going to a more reliable vendor.
I just purchased one from the distributor listed on the manufacturers website.
Free shipping world wide and only $49.90 USD.

I've had the same problem with MobileFun; ordered a Desire HD case with kickstand - knowing it was out of stock for "1 to 2 weeks" - six weeks later, their website still states the same and no item. I cancelled the order and bought from Expansys with no delay and £5 cheaper too...

Where to buy the original headset?

Hello,
My original Omnia 7 headset is broken and I'd like to know where I can buy the same original headset. Thanks.
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=samsung+headset
Not very helpful
Lol, I've already searched online; I've searched ebay, amazon & google. All I ever find are earphones/headsets that are not the same as my original omnia 7's.
To be more specific about my problem: all I want is a pair of wired earphones whose music controls work with Windows Phone 7.
I don't think you checked very well, in the 1st and 2nd link on google you can find original earphones
Not the same
I typically see this earphone (http://www.cellularfactory.com/det.jsp?d=47859&c=632810) which is not the same as my Omnia 7's.
yeah, the one in pic is the same as my original but the part you put in ear is transparent in mines
if yours is different then put a picture because now i'm curious
You can find it on amazon.de => http://o-x.fr/wqpuj
Hello, I got the same problem and looking for THE original Samsung Omnia 7 Headset, its called "EHS60AVNBE". And thats the picture of it.
Any idea?
hxxp://w**.myvoicecomm.com/core_files/uploads/EHS60AVNBE2.jpg
good thing i found this link. my ones died and ive only got my a-jays fours which i can confirm the remote barley works. only play/pause works. mic =fail and volume = fail. i need the official ones pronto.
what i have tested is the galaxy s2 headset. The mic works and only has one button. which is volume up on omnia 7.

thats the exact headset but ive got no idea on what im doing on the website. and whats the shipping cost etc. if anyone can help me out here i will gladly buy and test it out. also to note its from samsung if you check the amazon seller.
Naah, this headset is the right one, but the seller on the amazon site its the same as on ebay. Look at the "Impressum".
hxxp://w++.ebay.de/itm/290612853810?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
I ordered these Headset couple days ago and got them today. But its the wrong headset, its the standard one with only one!! button.
are you sure its the same seller from amazon cause the seller on my amazon link is "samsung" that much i know.
http://www.all4cellular.com/samsung-3-5mm-hands-free-stereo-headset-ehs60avnbe.html
also check out this link as it has the correct ones. doesn't say "for" or "genuine for" it says the model no. etc. i might email and then gamble on these.
I've just ordered the same headset from ebay (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Samsu...ccessories&hash=item1c232721e4#ht_2199wt_1010). I'll let you guys know how it performs.
Had the same problem - called Samsung and they replaced mine free under warranty. Apparently they have a year's warranty on them, the phone is 2 years (in the UK at least).
Hope this helps.
I tried it: No replacement under warranty in Germany...
and still I have no working headphone with my omnia (Controls+Mic).
I bought 3 pairs from eBay - all were rubbish and returned them back.
ended up buying a pair at a local operator store.

Replacement USB-C to 3.5mm adapter?

I don't even know why Motorola trusted me with this tiny ass adapter But I lost the darn thing in a day. Does anyone know where to find a replacement that isn't from China and won't take a month to get here? I tried contacting Motorola about it but all they said was contact Verizon, which is useless considering they don't sell it. Any advice?
Not an answer, but similar question...does anyone know if a usb c to 3.5 mm male cord exists?
My headphones have a removeable cord 3.5mm male on both ends...itd be nice to have a cable as opposed to an adapter.

Just went to go look all over the "shop" section on their website, didn't see anything, you may have gotten it confused with their Micro USB to USB C connector. Thanks anyway man
A search on google yields plenty of ebay results, Im even more glad I got two now.
The ones on ebay are pretty cheap if you can find reviews in there to look at

Yeah they're pretty cheap, but they all come from China.
I am thinking that will be the only option as the original is from China...and I briefly looked into it when I first bought the phone, I was then unlucky enough to receive a defective device and returned it for a replacement...well the adapter was in the bag not the box so I got a spare for the inconvenience of returning to the store.
Bump. Has anyone found a seller in the states? The only places that seem to sell them are from China.
Honestly, if you're a regular listener to music it might be time to go BT.
I've been using BT almost exclusively for a long time and and it's really nice.
First, no tangling of cords. No having to un-knot the mess when you take 'em out of your pocket or bag... no worry about snagging them on something when I'm sitting on the bus communicating to work.
Second, additional controls. Most BT headsets have controls for volume as well as track control so you can adjust without having to open the music app on your phone if you playing a game, checking email, or reading a book. Or...
Third, you don't need to be right next to your phone. You could have your phone tucked away in a purse or bag or briefcase or backpack and still listen to music. Or you could have it sitting on the charge on the counter while you're moving around the house... as long as you're not too far away of course.
Not, I'm not a serious audiophile, so I admit that there may be some degradation of sound quality going via BT. It's no problem for me, but I can understand that it might be so for some people. But unless your the type that really needs super good sound quality... or you just don't have the extra cash handy, BT is the way to go in my humble opinion.

I too only found ones from China, and I finally found a listing in the US for the exact same product in the chinese listings, the white one, and I bought 3 of them. Huge mistake, don't go for them. They don't support stereo headphones :silly:
Huge waste of money. I too decided to go bluetooth as the poster above me, I use a pair of Beats Studio 2.0 (I know you guys hate beats, blah blah blah) and they work great. I did manage to RMA my phone though, as I was having some issues with the power button, and they just sent me a completely new Moto Z Force Droid in box, so I have a spare turbo charger and a new headset adapter

I hope that will be good wth a sennheiser hd700, I have a FIIO E11 amplifier but I would prefer It works without it, just with this cable would be perfect !
Just came across two eBay listings for what appear to be OEM replacement adapters (SKN6474A), thought I'd share (after I bought two for myself, natch). Kinda weird: same seller, but the first link is for $7.99 Buy-It-Now, the 2nd is for $9.99 but accepting offers. Haven't received them yet so can't say for sure they're the real deal, but the seller has 100% with 150 ratings. Act quick!

Anyone got a spare set of B&O headphones?

I've just pulled the trigger on a new V30+ (at a great price) but it doesn't come with a set of the B&O headphones (go figure). I'd like to get a set of matching B&O's to take advantage of the DAC.
https://bit.ly/2JOXrMW
My question is whether anyone has a spare set of these B&O headphones that they'd be willing to sell? Thx.

You know you don't need those specific headphones to use the DAC, right?

In the U.S. the V30+ came with "LG" quad headphones, not the B&O branded headphones.

Yep, totally. I need some new in-ears anyway so I just fancied having the whole complete original set. I've heard they're quite good....annoying they don't come with them. They do come as standard so I'm assuming they're taking them out before shipping.
Request still stands though, happy to pay a fair price for an unused set of them.
They're not taking them out. Until a couple of weeks ago, Eglobal was selling the Hong Kong version, it included the B&O earphones.
The versions Eglobal is selling right now are indian variants of the H930DS, those just don't include the earphones for India market (check your software version, it should be Vxxx-IND-xx).
But hey, you get VoLTE out of the box! HK versions don't have that.
$20 and they're yours. I've worn them for about ten minutes btw.
I have a new set in the box. Let me know if you are still interested.
Thanks.
Esteban
My 16y old daughter took my brand new B&O to make a call and munched the wire while talking and now it's broken...
I compared these headphones to other models from different manufacturers.
They play on the V plan. They are good for OEM, but compared to other headphones they are rather weak.
I think that you can buy much better headphones for 25-30 USD.
For example, RHA MA390.

Right. In North America LG doesn't have the rights to B&O distribution.
I feel the B&O headphones are super weak (do not trigger high impedance mode) and very flat sounding. Anyone else experience this problem? I will gladly sell my gently used B&O's. Also have one brand new in box. Worst sounding earbuds ever.
The included B&O earbuds don't even come close to any of the retail B&O earbuds.. The only thing B&O to them is their name.. For the rest they can at best be considered as cheap OEM freebees. Don't waste your money on them. Instead get yourself Etymotic ER4 XRs. They do way more justice to the internal quad-dac....
(Or alternatively get a good pair of wireless cans such as the B&W PX or Sony WH-1000xm2)

Get BeoPlay H3 in ear wired. I own them for nearly 2 years and they're gorgeous, hit the floor many time and still working fine, wire condition is perfect. These added to LG V30 are rather low class earphones and I'm quite surprised that they're branded by B&O, it only works against them. If earphone cost 25$ you can be sure that it has nothing to do with real Bang and Olufsen sound quality.
