Here's my review about my experience about the ThL T6S. It is a 5" display smartphone from ThL, placed in the budget category and promoted as "ultrathin". At the end of this post you can find a video with a small unboxing and a quick summary.

Buying Process & Delivery:
I bought the phone from the spain warehouse from Antelife, you can find it here. The delivery time was good, the phone arrived three weekdays after the order. The delivery was splitted up between UPS (delivering in Germany) and the spanish parcel service "Nacex", which I did not know before. The phone was delivered in a plastic-parcel bag, similiar to the ones from DHL-Express.
First Impressions:
The parcel was obviously opened immediately after the parcel service brought it. A short unboxing video (just to show what the box contents are) is available in the first part of the attached Video. The ThL T6S comes in the ThL typical white box with silver printing. The mobile itself comes in a small half transparent plastic bag. A display protection film was already applied, just the "upper" foil had to be removed. Beside the obligatory wall charger (5V with 500mA) with USB cable, a plastic case, a headset and a second protection foild was included. Although the T6S is placed in the low budget price segment, it feels valuable. The weight is somewhere in a nice balance between heavy and light in my opinion. Here you can see a small picture:

Design:
The design is quite nice in my opinion. It is relatively plain, but differs at several point from the often used "general-chinaphone"-design. The upper and bottom edges are completey rounded off, so it gives an impression as it would be one cast part. The back is rippled very slightly, which feels nicely. The side-edges are bordered with a silver ring. A point which a I like especially are the control buttons (standby upper right and volume rocker on the upper left). The are inside the silver ring and nearly invisible. Only at a closer sight or feeling you can notice them. A negative influence towards the pressure point is not noticable. At the bottom of the display the android buttons Menu, Home and Back (from left to right) are placed. The Micro-USB port is situated on the top beside the headphone port.
The second picture shows the T6S in comparison to the ThL W200 (T6S top, W200 bottom). You can see, that both phones have roughly the same size. The T6S does not really deserve the title "ultrathin" as stated on the ThL website, although it is not too thick.
The phone is delivered in a relatively "clean" Android 4.2.2. Just the icons are added an colorfull background with rounded edges. To get an idea, here are two screenshots:
Performance:
While using the ThL T6S, no lags or similiar were bothering me. The launcher is not lagging and is browsed smooth. Also Youtube videos are loaded immediately and do not lag (which is not to be expected differently, since the max. resolution is 480p). To determine the performance a bit more quantitavely, the Antutu benchmark was executed. With its score of roughly 19000 points the T6S should have enough power for the daily use, as well for a little bit more.
Memory:
The memory is 8 GB large according to the ThL website. The memory distribution is like the following: 2.26 GB of internal memory and 3.88 GB of telephone memory. The internal memory is filled with around 289 MB from the beginning. Surely some memory could be cleaned with removing some bloatware. In general the internal memory offers enough capacity for me, especially in combination with App2SD. As an extension I am using a 32 GB MicroSD card, which is detected flawlessly from the T6S.

Display:
The T6S has a display diagonal of 5" with a resolution of just 854x480. The IPS display itself is from the company JDI, which is supposedly also producing the display for the HTC One. It is noticable that is not a FHD dispaly since you can see the pixels when looking closely. In my opinion, the resolution is acceptable relating to its price, especially when using it as a second mobile or when you anyway do not expect a HD resolution. However, the viewing angle is very good. The picture stays constant for nearly 180°. The T6S is no OGS. If you want to take this as an advantage or disadvantage is up to you.
Sensors:
The phone with the happy technology inside contains three sensors: acceleration, proximity and light. I did not test the accelerometer sensor in particular, whereas the switching to landscape mode happens quick and reliable. Also the proximity sensor worked reliable-the phone display always turned off while calling somebody. The light sensor on the contrary just works limited as in many chinaphones. The automatic brightness adjusts nicely in "clearly defined" situations (very dark/very bright). While in situations in between, the brightness randomly "jumps" in a few seconds period. That's why I turned off the automatic brightness again.
GPS:
The very first GPS fix was surprisingly fast, after just about 10-15 seconds my position was determined. After roughly the double time the accuracy increased to about 12 feet. For additional testing I did some test navigation. I did not experience any disconnects and just one time a "drifting" from the street. Anyhow, the reaction time is not very high. When movement is stopped, it takes several seconds untill the GPS is up to date. As a second application, I played some Ingress. A similiar behaviour was noticable here. To summarize, the T6S is suitable for basic navigation and GPS applications. It should be emphasized, that the GPS is working out-of-the-box, without any GPS tweaks or similiar.
Reception:
The reception as well as the transmission quality is good. While using it for everyday use, I did not notice any disconnects or a comparable bad reception. Also the Wi-Fi reception is good. As well as in my appartment or in public places I experienced comparable acceptable or good Wi-Fi reception.
SIM-Slots:
The phone has two SIM-Slots. The SIM-cards are placed on top of each other. One slot is Standard (Mini) SIM, while the other one is Micro-SIM. Both slots can work in 3G, but just one at a time. Which one is using 3G can be set in the Android menu.
Misc:
The T6S has a red notification LED on the top right beside the loudspeaker. It lights up constantly while charging and works out-of-the-box as a notification LED for system-notifications. The phone is delivered unrooted, whereas it should be reportedly easily rooted with the one-click program "VRoot". Although I did not try it be myself. Google Apps are already installed on the phone. Additionally a chinese appstore, DU Speed Booster, Baidu Browser and a chinese Game Central are installed. This is the only bloatware you can see at without going deeper in the system. The battery seems to be quite small with its capacity of 1900 mAh, but after a normal day with bluetooth turned on the battery was still charged with around 60%. The low power consumption is probably explained by the low display resolution. A small detail which I noticed is that the vibration alarm is quite weak.
Conclusion:
The ThL T6S is quite a good low-budget phone. To the low price it offers some functionality which just available in general on higher priced phones or with additional tweaks (e.g. the GPS). Additionally I like building quality, since no slits are obviously visible, the battery closing is holding firmly and the weight is comfortable. Although the display is not full HD, it is has a nice quality. In general it can be said, that the T6S has a good cost-benefit ratio. The T6S is not a smartphone with the best specs available, but recommandable for the daily use or as a second mobile.

This is the first time I've ever had contact with a ThL smartphone and I find it pretty nice. The thl box is quite good, there's a foam on the inside to protect the screen. The phone came with one applied screen protector (quite poor , It scratches easily, isn't anti-glare) and an extra one, one earphone and one charger, both just regular chinese stuff. The store (pandawill) sent me a hardcase as a gift, nice [Pictures 10 and 11]. Pandawill customer service was alright when I needed, and the phone was well packed. The outside box had a few bumps on it, but ThL box was perfect due to bubble wrap absorption. The first thing I did was root the phone using VRoot tutorials that are available all over the internet. I just had a bit of trouble installing the drivers on my Win7 64bits but after that everything went smooth.
Overall quality of the device impresses me right out of the box, same as Jiayu F1 and Doogee DG2014 that I recently bought. The battery arrived with 70% of charge, and I went right in to see for the first time the KitKat Android, expecting big changes (bleh). It's a clean ROM with only 4 bloatwares on it. First look is all good, specially judging by it's cheap $90 price. I'm coming from a MTK6589 so right at the beginning I noticed it's a little more quick than my Star B94M. Screen is amazing, cameras are not disappointing, and the touch is sensitive and fluid.
The design is similar to the new fashion: thinner close to the sides, and with a metal of some sort even thinner, giving the extremely thin sensation. The screen borders are not very thin, but also don't bother the eyes. Power button on the right side, volume buttons on the left side, USB and earphone connections on the top. In the rear, camera and flash are at central top, and speaker is at central bottom. It's a fancy design, everyone I showed the phone liked it. There's this special detail on the sides that's a chrome metal, which is really nice [Picture 4]. Back cover isn't 100% smooth, which gives a nice feel to the hand when using the phone. The capacitive buttons dont have backlight, but at least they have a chrome color which almost reflects something when you're using it in the dark. If you have really good eyes you might see the buttons. This really bothers me. Some pics of the device:
About the performance , a 6582 with 1GB of RAM is enough for me. Of course the more the merrier when it comes to RAM but I believe nowadays 1GB is pretty manageable. Jumping from 6589 to 6582 brings a whole new flow when it comes to games. A recent example is the silly game BackToBed which didn't go well on my 6589 when all graphics were enabled, but with 6582 everything went smooth even with x4 antialiasing. Also GTA San Andreas on HIGH worked fine (didn't test MAX). Just remember that it's very good with games because the resolution is quite low - 854x480p. The T6S has 8GB of internal memory, which came splitted as: 2.26GB for internal memory and 3.86GB emulated as a SD card. I intend to use a external microSD card so I'll try to follow XDA tutorials and merge these into a ~6GB internal memory. Antutu prints:
T6S marketing (aside from the low price) is it's screen which is a JDI IPS screen, which really surprised me given the price. I supposed that with such screen size and low resolution it would be kinda weird, but for some reason it looks alright. A friend of mine actually asked if it was 720p. My mom chose T6S screen over Doogee DG2014 when I asked her about the quality, showing her the same picture with high resolution on both devices. Looking carefully I can see pixels in T6S, but image quality (contrast, brightness, colors) brings a really good feeling about the screen. With 40% brightness it beats my Star B94M at 100% brightness, so that's good. I'm not a screen expert but I like it! View angle is very very good, only one of the sides shows a little bit of burned colors, but only at very high angles. I couldn't get those burned colors in image.
Touchscreen is sensitive and responsive, BUT it only accepts two simulaneous touches. I think this is a big mistake from ThL, because it's very bad to type messages fast, and some apps and games require more than two touches. Also, both touchs can't be in the same horizontal line [Picture 17]. As an example, while typing a message (portrait position) you have to type slowly, because if you press A and L at almost the same time, the screen will recognize the mid-point (which is about letter G), so it's a mess. I've seen other chinese phones with the same problem (i.e. Jiayu F1, Doogee DG200). Check the pic:
The cameras also surprised me. My comparison base is a Doogee DG200 which has the same camera hardware, and both T6S cameras performed better. The flash is really poor, both as a flashlight or as camera flash. In the dark it only helps at less than 50cm. Some pictures taken with it:
The sensors are very few: no gyroscope nor compass, both I'd like to have to use for photosphere and GPS. It has the simple combo: acelerometer, light sensor, proximity sensor, all working very well. Light sensor is so much better than B94M. I am able to use auto-brightness very well. If it doesn't bother the owner to have the brightness auto changing every now and then, it works perfectly. It has a notification LED but it seems to be only RED.
Both GPS and 3G worked out of the box here in Brazil. GPS fix in less than 2 minutes, inside the apartment, not moving. In a second test, riding around the city, it worked very well using Waze App. No confusion between close streets like my B94M used to do. I couldn't test it very well yet, but seems alright.
The battery seems to last up to 24hours. I'm not a good comparision base because I usually just pick up the phone for a few calls and very few internet use. What I can say is that the stock ROM could manage DeepSleep very well. With other chinese devices that I used, I had to do a few tricks to get DeepSleep working. With T6S frequency management is very well done. During the night, 10 hours only took 2% of the battery. I've just checked and it's been 22 hours running and still has 70%. Again, my guess is 24hours for regular use.
Other: Speaker volume is pretty high. I'd say it's about three times higher than my B94M. I've told you I loved the build quality, but here are some details: When opening the back cover I've notice that the antennas (those black stuff) have their name on it. [Picture 31]. I've never seen this on a phone and I think it's a detail that shows how much T6S cares. The battery is pretty big, bigger than my 2000mAh of B94M, so my guess is it's a real 1900mAh. It fits very very well, which is quite good because it won't get loose over time. Rear camera came with a protective film [Imagem 31],so it doesn't scratch the outside 'lens'. In the center of the speaker there's a small higher dot [Imagem 32], which is good for anti-scratching the back cover when the device is on a surface. I think it's pretty cool that chinese brand care this much even when I've seen many Motorolas and Samsung all scratched.
To sum up:

Yes, rooted using Vroot. Very easy after you get the drivers working.
I don't think it has gyroscope, otherwise it would show on Antutu and Android Sensor Box, which it didn't. Does google cardboard only works with gyro? Isn't accelerometer enough?
I haven't searched about OTG, but I can assure it's not factory ready.

Yes, the THL T6S is not able to use it with Google Cardboard as far as I know, since it does not have a gyroscope (neither compass to emulate gyro).
And also no , there is no way which I know to enable OTG.
This device is supposed to be 8GB. But when I go to storage, I have two items.
Internal Storage 2.26GB (214MB availalable) and Phone Storage 3.88GB ( 3.63GB available)
I am unable to install any new apps due to storage (even when the app is say 20MB and it says I have 214MB available). But obviously I still have over 3 GB free.
I don't' have an SD card installed so I'm confused about this segregation of storage.
What do I need to do to combine this into one storage device (if possible) and or move apps over to "phone storage".

There would be two ways:
1) Rather system invasive, more complex: You can partition the memory of your phone new, so that your first Partition (Internal Storage) gets the larger ratio instead of the large second partition (Phone Mem). But I have never done it with the ThL T6S. For infos how to do that (appearingly also suitable for the T6S) you can find in this Thread:

2) Root it and install an App2SD program (like for example this one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ljmobile.move.app ). With this program you can also move apps to the SD card which officially do not support it.

Why do mfgs do this. Is that common even on high end devices? HTC One, galaxy s5 etc.

Ah sorry, I did not read that part that you do not have an SD-Card. Then in case you do not want to get one, the only solution which I know is to repartition your device, since I do not know a possibility to install apps on the second partition...

No, I don't think so. I think ThL itself doesn't have an "own" webshop. This should be the official english ThL website (for the T6S):

No, I don't think that there are any Custom ROMs for the ThL T6S yet. But there are some apps, with which you can "overlay" your battery icon with a custom one I think, like for example this one:

i want to buy a phone and i can't decide between Huawei P8-lite (kirin or qualcomm processor). alcatel idol 3 5.5", huawei honor 5x, blu life one x (2016), oneplus X.
all the phone are the best i found for around 200$.

the only problem i see is the laggy. i read about this phone have lag on all. Second i want to have officially android M and i don't know if this phone recibe that.

If you can wait a month before your purchase and Marshmallow still isn't on the Idol 3 (or officially announced) then I think it is a safe bet that it won't be coming to the Idol 3.
Personally, I think most of the lag issues were resolved with the early software updates but I can only speak for myself and I may not have the same attention to detail as some of the tech people on the internets. You might be able to get a better response if you tell us what features interest you the most for a new phone as well (IE: Gaming, screen brightness, speaker volume, battery life, etc)

@macallik thanks for your response i hope more idol users response to. And.... Im not searching something special like sound or camera. I just want buy the best phone for 200$. 13Mpx. 2-3Gb of ram.. octacore preffer qualcomm. Android 6. 4.5-5.5 inches screen...
One plus x will be my fav. It's sleek beautiful also compact with amoled screen and decent performance. No big 5.5 screen, no excellent speakers and no big battery but it's your choice.

@Nikola Jovanovic but its a 801 quadcore from 2014 and dont have Android 6. Its not old?
Understand that but it's still little bit faster than 615 cpu, and our idol 3 doesn't have Android M yet on it. Who knows when will it come. I've heard about end of the May, with the deadline to middle of the June but as I have said previously, who knows..
I have the I3 5.5 in stock rom since 10 months now and I can assure you that it's a great phone for the price!
First, it's a very good looking phone, well built, plastics are not cheap.
Then we've got several updates wich fixed the majority of the problems encountered. If you optimize it the lags almost completely disappear.
For example I deactivate the animations in développer mode and lots of little things like that. We all know that the snapdragon 615 is not a high end processor but it's powerful enough to rule multi-application decently and to play most of games of the play store in quite good conditions (RR3, the Room, Modern Combat etc..).
The screen is awesome very brightly in sunny day, you have no problem to read it.
For the music the speakers are really really good, sharp and powerful.
Camera is quite good too thanks to the updates.
The battery once calibrated is good, with a very moderate usage I almost stand two days with it. So normally you'll have no problem to have a very long day with it. If you are are a gamer don't hope to stand more than an normal day.
The only thing I can tell against this phone that it's far away from a rugged phone. So my advice if you buy it, it's to buy at the same time a tempered glass and a silicon protection and use them since the first day. That's what I've done and I've got no problem. And don't put it in you're trouser's pockets! It don't like twisting.
One last thing, we are still not sure to have MM on it. Some say for June, but the idol 4 will be here at this time. I would be very surprised that Alcatel (Tcl) give the update while they are selling a new model more expensive wich become less attractive if the Idol3 is under Marshmallow. Perhaps we'll got it in August... I hope so.

Hello the Idol3 have the Marshmallow update confirmed, and the first impressions after the update are really good. It was a really good phone under lollipop, now it will be a great phone.

I am really not happy using 2 apps for the same thing. For instance 2 apps for gallery or email. They should integrate and eliminate in the future this inconvenient and let the user decide if he want to install other applications.

So far the camera app works without any issues...it's as easy as opening the camera and pressing the picture or video button. Changing modes is a swipe to the left or right....very easy to use for the average Joe...
Can you use pro mode with the telephoto lens? And can you capture dng/raw with the telephoto lens? This is a limitation of the note 8.

Yeah, I've been getting the same thing. I notice it more when I rotate the screen while I'm watching a video. It was happening a lot with facebook, but I deactivated yesterday, so I cant replicate it.

Samsung has been like this since ages. I don't think they are going to revert at all. "Forced adoption" for things we don't want/need or like.
Several features are not necessary I think. Those have negative impacts on overall performance.
Hey, currently i'm thinking to buy 12s ultra. But i read about some bugs are there like notifications, caller id, edge detection and etc.
I'd like to know as of you guys using this phone for months, Are the problems are solved? Are there any bugs still persist?
For users that reports having bugs for notifications are really the one that doesnt really knows how to set up a Xiaomi phone. I have been using a week already and I get all my notifications right away.

With eu ROM, it's been an excellent phone. No big complaints here.
I would like to thank you all, I'm planning this phone to buy. But there was some questions and now it is almost solved. Because when I buy a new smartphone I use it about 2-3 years. So that's why I wanted to be sure.

Can't send 1080p (30p/60p) videos via whatsapp, the videos will stutter but it's smooth in the video player and gallery.
this is on latest stable EU Rom, seems to be a known issue with chinese roms / phones.

I was using a Vivo nex 3s for the pass 2 years, which served me very good but the camera department and the lackluster mono speaker just a nono for a flagships anymore. The 12s ultra I got from aliexpress with global rom, which i think is there inside China only hacked rom and the first thing I did was to flash EU firmware and set it up as a regular global xiaomi phone. To me the screen refresh rate, camera , sound and voice is a major step up from what I was using. For a flagship around 1k, this is a wonderful best buy that I won't probably run into someone with the same phone around my area.

Accessibility services sometimes "stop working" and need to be restarted, that's about the only issue I've run into.
I'm just a casual photo taker, however so far I have found that the consistency in cameral quality was better with the mi ultra 11
Hi, I'm not sure if this is the correct thread for this. But I am wondering if your device's RAW file format for photos does not exceed or is normally 10Mb and below?
I normally post-process my shots and purchased this phone mainly because of its camera. However, I am blown by how low the margin I can edit the images on this device. I have an old mi10 pro, and a ROG6 device, and the RAW photos I'm getting out of those devices are above 50MB. The photos I shot out of this device are normally highly saturated even after turning of lica vivid. so my option is to post-process.
Is this something that can be resolved via software update or is this a hardware limitation? TIA!
So let me ask you one more question about camera. I have seen the dozens of video on youtube about camera. Is 12s ultra's camera really competeble with Iphone 13 or 14 series?

its hard to give you a straight answer as camera quality comes to personal preference.

The iPhone gives the most natural looking, clean picture in my experience. android devices tend to go more into "beautification" hence over saturation, over exposed, etc photos. to fix this, you can shoot with raw format and then post process.
but yeah, it all depends with the person looking at the picture.
going back to my question about RAW photos with this phone . this is the first time i ever encountered a device with a very low RAW image quality. the standard photos is more clear, you can basically do nothing with its raw image.
I'm using thor 13.0.1.1 rom, i just want to check with others if they are having the same issue. or will changing rom fix this?
is it just me or is there no way to turn off the alarm when the alarm clock goes off using the native miui clock app? I even set the volume buttons to dismiss the alarm but nothing. Have to reboot phone to turn off alarm
