What is your opinion is it worth of price? Do I buy it or go for note 3/4?
Both are great
I have both phones and I like each phone for different reasons. I really like the sleekness and the larger screen on the Mate 7 and it works great on T Mobile. Outdoors the screen could be brighter though. For travel purposes I would probably default to the Note 4 because it has a better camera and shoots 4K video. And I really have always liked the built in pen capabilities of the Note series. I hear Huawei may be announcing the Mate 8 soon (March?) which might be worth checking out but might also lower the price on the Mate 7. For the last couple of weeks I have been using the Mate 7 exclusively and knowing what I know now I might be hard pressed to spend $700+ on the Note 4. I happened to have been in Cambodia when the Mate 7 was first released and bought it for $470 with case. I use a 128GB SD card in it with no problems. I find the speaker on the Mate 7 to be louder than the Note 4 which I really like when walking near traffic.

@bkkcnxsi Thx for replay. I heard from some people that huawei generaly have tehnical hardware problems and after few months of using visiting service is necessary. This serie of "Mate 7" does not have that problems?

Hardware is okay, software is crap. Big screen, but less data on it than on a cheapie Nexus 5. Huawei just made all the graphics and text super huge so you have a massive phone to carry in your pocket for zero benefit. Made for 80-year-old grandmas with vision problems, I guess.
I personally like my AM7, in order of most recently owned phones, I've had: LG G3 -> Sony Xperia Z1 -> Nexus 5 -> Galaxy Note 3, so my experiences come from owning those phones.
The is the best phone I've owned in a few aspects: 1) battery life; 2) build quality; 3) ergonomics; 4) hardware.
Battery life speaks for itself, as I've consistently had 6 hours of on screen time (note: I use Xposed with Greenify, and GPS usually off and at 65-75% brightness). Simply put: it's a complete monster of a phone in terms of battery life.
The build quality is simply staggering as there aren't many Android phones out there that can compete. The quality speaks for itself, as the only phone that can compare to it is the HTC One M8.
Ergonomics - the button placement is great, especially for the size of the phone. There's a minimal amount of bezels too, which means the phone's screen real estate is huge. The LG G3's take on button placement was nearly perfect, and Huawei took advantage of this by placing the fingerprint scanner right where your index finger naturally lays.
Hardware - fingerprint scanner, octacore processor, 'nuff said.
Cons: software, software, software, camera, software.
This phone's software is cumbersome at times. It has moments of brilliance, but is overall not great. I'm currently running Nova launcher to replace the ghastly stock launcher. But certain aspects of the stock theme cannot be replaced by Xposed apps and what not. Things include: inability to remove the alarm clock from the notification bar, pull down menus, recent apps layout, etc.Hopefully, Lolipop will fix a few of these issues.
Overall, the phone is spectacular. There's always going to be something better in the market in 4-5 months, but I can see myself living with this phone for a while, but it all depends on when we get 5.0 and if at least a few of the software issues are resolved.
To be fair not a single smartphone is manufactured yet which is totally perfect. Take any phone and go to their forum and see what people are complaining.
In my opinion this is the best phone I ever saw. The most important thing for me is the battery life. It gives me easily 9 to 10 hours of screen time which is more than sufficient for me. I don't think that there is any other phone in the market giving you this much screen on time. All this time wifi is on and surfing the net plus Facebook and Facebook videos...

It depends on what you looking for. If you want concern battery, screen side , two sim card . Mate 7 will be a good choice. If you concern the cpu speed , and camera ,you should note 4. I buy Mate 7 , because it have 6 mon and can support 4g in hong kong and china. Not much choice can meet my requirements , finally I choose Mate 7

Hey guys,
My moto G display broke recently so I'm looking for a new phone. I am trying to decide between zenfone 2 and Mi4i.
I'm worried about the heating issues in Mi4i. Is the heating really bad? I'm not a hardcore gamer, I do play some small games when I get bored. Do you think this phone is a good buy?
I will mainly be using this phone for web browsing on 3G and making calls.
Any input is appreciated.

Hi! Processors are getting stronger and fast day by day and all processors produces heat when in constant heavy use. If you play graphic heavy games then current generation of smartphones do heat up but this is not a big issue.
MI 4i is a good phone best in its category of smartphones. You can go ahead and purchase this little dragon it does heat up a little (every smartphone does) when you play heavy games for more than 30 mins. In general games or tasks temperature is normal. :good:

Do you have this phone? I understand the heating up is normal under heavy usage and gaming, but I looked at few video reviews and phone immediately heats up after 5 minutes of internet browsing. I think this is not acceptable.
There was another video comparing Mi 4i with other phones and after running a benchmark the phone heat up to 59-60 degrees. Isn't that too much for a phone?
Mi4i
I have been using mi4i for 3 days now. Actually the phone doesn't heat up much under Normal usage. I have been using WiFi, browsing and playing some online games, it gets a little warm like any other phone.
It did heat up when I was setting up the phone, that is transferring the contents from my old phone to mi4i via Bluetooth , downloading and updating apps(WiFi),charging the phone, and playing clash of clan's.
In my opinion mi4i is a better choice if you are not a hardcore mobile gamer and if you want something compact in your hands.
If you love playing high graphics games then zenfone 2 would be a better choice.
Do note, however, that xmodgames does not support Intel-based processors at the moment. So if you use this particular app, zenfone 2 won't do.

I was in the same state as you are - broke my Moto G display, waiting for the zenfone 2 and thats when this device comes up... bought it on the first sale itself...
My primary reason for opting Mi4i was the compact build, I did not want the 5.5 inches that Zenfone 2 and other phones provided (though zenfone 2 launched with a 5 inch model, the specs let that one down)
Right now, I am impressed by the light weight design and slim form factor of the phone... the display is awesome, sunlight legibility works as advertised ... the battery gives me a full day backup with wifi, gps, data switched on and syncing 4 emails, whatsapp, FB...
Now to the heating issue - my Moto G and my HTC Legend heated up when used extensively, I believe it happens in all devices when used for a long time, especially when charging at the same time or doing lots of multitasking... But of course, both the SD 615 and the 810 from Qualcomm have been in the news for the heating issue...
In my personal experience, the device heated up extensively only once - right out of the box, when setting up, syncing and downloading the new version were going on at the same time... With the new update, I don't feel it has ever heated up to the extent shown in youtube videos... But then I have not played any graphics intensive games on it, my typical usage is calls, messages, browsing, bluetooth when driving, reddit, whatsapp, emails, hotspot occassionally...

Thank you so much for such an informative post. Even I'm not a big fan of phablets, but due to the heating fact I was looking for alternatives and zenfone was the only one I could find to match my needs.
Thanks for all your replies guys. It really helped me decide. I'm fixed on Mi 4i now. My colleague has already placed an order for zenfone 2, so I'll wait to get my hands on it and then I'll place my order.
Nope not much heat...Not as much as Redmi1s
I have also purchased it. Haven't got it yet. But as for the heat issues, even my nexus 5 heat up when I install a new rom; every time.

personal advice--
if u r not much into development, go for Zenfone 2. U will never regret.
heating is for real in mi4i. people may state there love for mi4i coz they have spent money, but zenfone is more value for money.
just my thought. I bought mi4i in the 1st sale. it does not even have a gorilla glass.

On the contratry, the Mi 4i has the same level of scratch protection as Gorilla Glass, only, it is not 'called' Gorilla Glass. It is a newer technology called Concore glass. It is the same protection used for OGS displays like in Mi 4 and is slimmer than Gorilla Glass and according to Corning, provides the same level of toughness. There's also a thread on Miui's website explaining the newer display technology. Most people don't see the "Gorilla glass branding" so assume it doesn't have a tough screen.
While the Zenfone 2 is a decent phone for a more stock-like android experience, the Mi 4i offers more value for money. The Zenfone 2 takes better night photos and comes with a micro SD card slot, but the Mi 4i has 4G LTE in both its sim cards, faster CPU throughput per thread, has a better camera in the day (also the HDR mode in Zenfone 2 is over-aggressive and creates visible outlines that ruins most photos), larger and newer 4.4V high density battery technology, better screen and better outdoor visibility, in an much lighter and compact build. Zenfone 2 is larger; much, much bulkier and the screen smudges easily. The camera on Zenfone 2 suffers from low dynamic range and performs worse in most lighting conditions than the (Sony) sensor in Mi 4i.
As a phone, the Mi 4i is both - better built, and priced cheaper, thus having more value for money.

I would go with the Zenfone 2 if I were a gaming freak because of the larger screen (and extra RAM if you buy the 4GB version). The Mi 4i does heat up a little more than most other phones (owing to its thinner build and the Snapdragon 615) but not so much so that it feels uncomfortable or too hot to handle. The phone maintains a consistent warmth when running benchmark apps or demanding games for long periods of time, especially when the phone is plugged into the charger. I find it interesting that most people who buy Xiaomi phones were users of budget and mid-range phones that seldom did any CPU intensive tasks. The sudden exposure of an octa-core 1.7 GHz CPU under full load will indeed cause an uninitiated person to raise concerns with their handsets dissipating all that energy. What people call "over heating" comes staple with long term use of any processor - what matters is if the constant heat bottlenecks the CPU's performance. Thankfully, I didn't face any performance bottlenecks in the two weeks of rigorous usage of the Mi 4i.

It's very easy to show configurations on paper. With single day low use, the OGS glass got scratches and I had to immediately initiate replacement. So don't give me the specification bull****. You will know only when u use one. You can't know just by going through paid reviews and benchmark scores. Those are just the marketing strategies. The End user is the one who has to suffer.
Calm down dude. If you feel that Gorilla glass doesn't scratch, i'll let you know that it does (even Sapphire glass shows scratches upon being mishandled). I have at my disposal the Lumia 920, Moto G (both 1st and 2nd Gen), Redmi 1s, Xperia L and few other phones with varying generations of Gorilla glass - all bearing early scratches beneath their screen guards. I also managed to get the phone in the first flash sale and used it butt-naked for 7 days, no screen protector or case. All this time, i put the phone in the same jeans pocket with the stationery i take to class, and also managed to accidentally drop it flat on marble flooring. It still looks like day 1, without any scratch on the entire phone. That, I find impressive for a phone that has from your perspective, no "Gorilla glass".
It was on the 8th day that I finally got a tempered glass. The tempered glass is now beginning to show the faintest of scratches at just the right lighting angles. I'd recommend one for you too, better safe than sorry.
I've been on xda for quite some time and I don't blame you for being skeptical therefore I attached a pic of my phone in case you think I didn't speak from experience.

That's actually a very bad idea. If you are into developement, I wouldn't recommend any Intel based phone. Unity 3d doesn't recorgine Intel phones. You'll end up building apk and manually copying it over to your phone every time you want to test.

Thanks mate. I finally made my decision. If so many users are comaplaining, there is definitely something wrong with this phone.
Change of plan. I'll go for a cheap refurbished nexus for now. Later when there are better phones I'll think about buying.
Thanks for all your help.
PS: heating is a hardware issue and can't be fixed with software update!

Hello there!
I'm looking into buying a new phone and those 2 phones in the title called my attention. I'm coming from a Z Ultra so both of them look great to me.
The LeTV Max seems like the better alternative, but let's run down the specs of both of them (mediapad x2 on the left and letv max on the right)
CPU:
Kirin 930 (4x 2GHz and 4x 1.5GHz) x Snapdragon 810 (4x 2GHz and 4x 1.5GHz)
RAM:
3GB x 4GB
Screen size:
7" x 6,33"
Screen resolution:
1200x1920 x 1440x2560
Back Camera:
13MP x 21MP
Battery:
5000 mAh x 3400 mAh
As expected, the LeTV Max wins most of the categories but do they make that much of a difference? Would the +1GB of RAM be a good addition? The screen resolution bump is also pretty interesting, since the MediaPad x2 is going at a 323 ppi and the LeTV Max is at 464. The monster battery on the MediaPad x2 also gets me happy, and knowing that it's not pushing out as many pixels as the LeTV Max (despise the screen size difference) makes it look like it will last longer. Coming from a Z Ultra, the only thing that I really NEED on a camera is flash (the Z Ultra's camera is ok at best) but I don't really require that much quality since I rarely use it.
What do you guys think? For the people that already got a MediaPad x2, are you happy with it? Would you change to a LeTV Max if you had the chance?
Screen size is everything so I would go for the X2.
Plus you have support from XDA for the X2.
I am actually considering upgrading to an 8.0 inch MediaPad M2!
If you only look at the basic specs, the LeTV Max "looks" better. More memory, higher resolution screen, slightly faster CPU, faster GPU, compacter...
But there is also where it ends. The 810 is a know throttle monster that easily hits its thermal limits ( what most manufactures solve by limiting the SOC ). Its also not exactly friendly on the battery. My X2 even after hours of playing Fallout Shelter ( what is a know battery eater ), was just "warm". Not hot, just warm. I doubt that the same can be said about the 810 in the LeTV.
1440x2560? I do not care... On the X2 7" 1080p, you need to have 21/20 eyesight to see the pixels or have the phone right in front of your eyes. What people forget it, that the higher resolution = less space for light to pass = more / higher back light is needed = more power usage. And my eyesight is 20/20.
4GB Ram ... everybody love more ram. But lets be realistic... on my Sony ZU, i always had a health 500+ MB ( 0.5GB ) free in regards to ram ( comparing Android 5 on both systems ). And that was with a device that had two years worth of programs active. On my X2, i have between 1.7GB and 1.8GB free. So assuming the same program load like the ZU, there will be close to 1.5GB ( X2 had 1GB more ram then the ZU ) still free. That means on the LeTV, your looking at 2.5GB memory free with the same load. Nice ...
Camera ... If you come from a ZU, anything is a massive upgrade *lol*...
And now we come to the real reason to own the X2: 5000 mAh x 3400 mAh ...
Its not just 50% more battery power. The ZU also had a 3050mAh battery. Yet, my own battery results are more then impressive. So far the X2 is hitting 2 a 3 times the battery life consistently against then ( 2 year old ) ZU.
Technology has improved... While the X2 has a bigger screen, it seems to be more power efficient. The SOC is designed around those power efficient cores from bottom to top. Its a monster, not just pure on battery but in regards to battery life.
My best proof are some of the basic usage test i did before.
Screen on ( ZU: 45%, X2: 50% ( brighter then ZU to compensate the battery somewhat )), no activity.
ZU: Lost about 11% in 75 minutes.
X2: Lost about 4% in 75 minutes.
Click to collapse
And i forgot that i still had the GPS on for the X2. *oeps*. And the GPS like most receivers/transmitters are more battery eaters.
Real life battery:
On 25/08 at 21.30 i charged up the battery to 100%.
We are 28/08 around 22.30 and my battery is ... 68%.
In that time i spend around 20 minutes calling ( 2 * 10 min ), checking wechat, some quick surfing on 4G, doing some basic battery testing ( one day with 4G+Wifi, one day with 2G+Wifi, one day with 2G. And Wifi on at night ) and a bunch of other thing. For this same amount of time, my ZU will hit 15% on the battery left, with only 4G on during the day and Wifi at night.
Its a battery life monster! And thanks to some testing, i found that the best combination is:
Set 2G when your at work and only need to check wechat or other chat messages. 4G drains twice as much. Enable 4G only when you need to surf. For basic text chatting 2G is the same effect as 4G, you do not notice the difference ...
Wifi/basic phone active drains about 3 a 4% in about 12 hours at night/morning.
2G/basic phone active / some times chatting during the day ( at work ), drains about 3 a 4% ( depends on the intensity that you chat/check/etc ) in +- 9 hours.
So with this combination, found that i can survive 24 hours, using maybe 6 a 8%, 10% in extreme for basic thing that i did before with my ZU, that took out maybe 30 a 40% ( yes, its not accurate because the ZU was using 4G all the time during the day ).
But to get back to the basic comparison:
The LeTV has a maybe more powerful CPU, GPU, more memory and higher resolution smaller screen combined with a smaller batter. Do the math? You know that your battery life at best will be "average". If you can live with that, then the LeTV is for you. But if you are like me, fed up with average battery life, then the X2 is way more up your alley.
Frankly, i do not know of any device that offers this size, battery life and still has phone capability... Beyond the X1 but that is running older A9 Cpu cores. The X2 beats the ZU with 25% in Antutu and frankly, i notice no slowdowns or other problems. And regarding faster GPU's. Sorry, but what do you care about the GPU? Those 3d games kill any device its battery, for what? If you want to really game, there are PC's, Console etc, where you can more enjoy the 3D experience. I found devices like this better with games that are more designed for the platform ( hard to explain ).
O and here is other a counter argument:
PRICE! X2 for 3GB/32GB = 399 Euro. The LeTV Max cheapest i found is 620 euro's... And i was lucky and was able to buy my X2 in a auction at 341 euro
I long time learned that specs alone do not make a good device, its the combination of those specs. I am frankly fed up with phone's that has a zillion "look how fast or how big resolution or " ... but they forget to mention that those things in general eat battery life and force people to spend every two or one! day recharging there phone. And the more you recharge, the more your battery capacity goes down. Fun these days with non-replaceable batteries.
Speaking of non-replaceable batteries. How is the LeTV its battery replacement? Also non-removable like most devices these days. I ask because the ZU its a disaster... you need to heatgun the glass to remove the glue, and then deal with a annoying flat cable. The X2 its just popping off some plastic, a few screws and you can simply unplug the power connector. The X2 battery replacement anybody can do.

That's exactly what I had in mind. When I was buying the Z Ultra I was able to test and research it better since it was from a known brand. But for the X2 I'm having trouble coming across more specific informations. What you said is what I'm looking for.
The LeTV seems like a pain to repair and it's design looks boring. The specs were buying me but it's pretty much what you said, it's the combination of everything ( and the x2 looks pretty as hell). The only down side for me would be not having a water proof phone like the Ultra but it's something I can get over since it's not a priority for me.
I'll still wait for IFA to see if anything else comes up but the X2 is a strong participant in my choice ( and it's one of the few choices I can actually buy where I live). Thanks for the tips!

Screen size is everything so I would go for the X2.
Plus you have support from XDA for the X2.
I am actually considering upgrading to an 8.0 inch MediaPad M2!

If I were going for that, I would just go with one of those cheap 6" phablets with 720p screens, haha. The M2 is pretty overkill for me ( really pretty but still). I can still fit my Ultra on my pockets nicely so the X2 should be good, as far as size goes.

I looked at the LeTv when searching for large phablets. It's smaller screen size and puny battery turned me off. All these spec wars mean nothing. 1080p vs 2k in a small screen means nothing. 3gb vs 4gb in an Android phone mean nothing if I don't see a performance boost. The X2 is without a doubt the best all around large phone/tablet out there right now. Huawei is a more well known brand especially now that they are making the next Nexus phone.

Yea, it's what I thought but when you get almost no reviews and comments about a phone, the specs are the only thing I can use for a guide on this. Huawei is a known brand, just not like Sony. The Z ultra had tons of reviews and feedback when it came out, but I could only find 1 review and many unboxings/ hands on. Thanks for the help!

Water proof is one of those oversold features. Do you use your smartphone in the shower? Do you use your smartphone while swimming ( by the way, Sony does not advice trying out the water proof in anything but clean water because chloor or salt = bad )? Its more of a annoy always opening up that usb cover. In all my life i never lost a phone because of water damage. If it rains, you do not use the phone. Simple as that. Or you use it under a umbrella. A bit of rain on the screen of the X2 or any non-water proof phone, will not destroy it. Its all pressed together. I found the water proof more of a excuse so they do not need to install a removable battery. And having it replaced by the manufacture ... awwwwww... Same reason why i sold my ZU: It will cost more to replace the battery by Sony ( and you STILL lose your water proof protection because even Sony can not guarantee that when they re-glue it, it will be water proof! ).
The X2 feel nice in the hand. I was planning on buying a case but i like the heavy metal feel instead of that glass feel that ZU had. It feels more robust. You do not feel like it will break and you need a protector. Disadvantage is that the metal is also slippery. Frankly, i like to get some plastic protector for the back of the X2, that is "grippy". The funny part being is, the X2 feels more premium with the metal, then the ZU.
I now just use the default protection plastic that was on it ( put it back ) and it gives more grip. But its not clean ( full of explanation text *lol* )
For the rest ... if you come from the ZU, its a bit of adjustment. The X2 is only 1cm thicker on the side, but it gives a massive visual difference. The X2 looks BIG, compared to the ZU. Yet, its only 1 cm difference. Its that optical illusion effect from long & slender.
Worst part is probably the default launcher and DPI. Its set to 400 default and that is crazy. 280 is perfect for this device but it gives some problems with the default software from Huawei ( they still try to render some things in 400 dpi ). But nothing beats having Chrome in 280dpi, with tabs and full desktop rendering and still perfectly readable
O yea, and one thing i miss from my ZU, is that the X2 by default does not turn off its Wifi when you leave the house ( the ZU has a option for that ). You can do it ( there are 3th party programs ) that do it, but you need to root it ( takes a while to get the unlock code from Huawei ).

The M2 is overkill. That is more a tablet. Smaller battery, bigger screen, bigger size, no phone capability. Price almost the same.

You can simply look up the X1 for basic reviews. The X2 is just a upgraded X1 with a better SOC ( CPU/GPU/Memory/Flash ). The basic design & internally is almost identical. There are also a few Russian etc reviews ( google translate ) that go fairly in dept. The biggest complaint in every review ... size. Just like with the ZU. Its a "acquired" taste.
Anyway, its your money but the LE Max, i removed that from the list months ago, because of the almost identical battery size like the ZU. For phone's of this size, its not acceptable that they have batteries inside of only 3000/3400mAh.

The man is absolutely correct. It WAS cool to be able to answer my Z Ultra in the shower when someone called but opening up the rubber to charge it was a PITA. The Z Ultra was my least favorite phone I've ever owned. Nothing was good about it except for the screen size and waterproofing. (It was super thin but had a puny battery which negated the fact that it was so thin) I'm am so glad when it completely crapped out three weeks after I got it that I was able to return it to the seller for a refund and buy the X2.
Thanks for all the in-depth info, folks... I especially appreciated the information about how batteries are replaced. I have never bought a phone without a replaceable battery. I keep my phones for a long time (compared to as long as you probably do). I still have my Note 2 (in pristine condition - actually even with the first iSmooth screen protector I ever installed still in pristine condition). The only problem I ever had with my Note 2 is that just recently I had to buy a new battery because the old one had degraded to about 3/4 power... I have been researching both the X2 and the P8MAX and dying to buy either but, not being the pros that you are, I have been extremely hesitant to take the plunge because I was worried about repairs once the battery started degrading. So where would you bring the X2 for repairs here in the USA? Seriously, I don't have half the knowledge or experience that you have. I have been avidly reading every forum and website I can find regarding the X2 and the P8MAX to learn a little bit here and there. Thanks so much for your time to try to teach people like me!

Hey guys, I just want to know your experience after using Xiaomi Poco f1 for months.... Are you guys satisfied with your phone or do you guys regret buying it?
And please rate the phone.
Yes, I'm very satisfied with the device, it surely is an upgrade from my Lenovo P2. The device is very responsive. It was the transition to Miui that kept me deciding wether I wanted it. After using Miui for 2 months now.. I definitely recommend a Xiaomi device to all my friends.
Upgraded from Galaxy S5 two months ago. Thought that the screen downgrade would bother me but it really doesn't - it's a decent screen for an LCD (and I love a very low minimal backlight level for night reading, usually for me a most useful feature of an amoled screen). Of course, it's extremely snappy and I find even the camera excellent (gcam is a big help here but even a built in app is decent). While I really like the photos, I don't care much for the video. It's detailed enough, with a good dynamic range and the EIS on 1080p is excellent but it's aggressive 'local' HDR is very apparent. It really looks bad when only a certain part of the image keeps changing in brightness while panning. The video is much better if you don't pan around. I rarely take videos so it's not much of a downside for me and maybe a gcam video has a different HDR algorithm (forgot to try it). I am not a gamer (bought a high-performance phone mostly for future-proofing and to run a Linux desktop on) so haven't really been hit that hard with a often mentioned touch responsiveness (seems perfectly OK to me). I have a custom built widget for always on homescreen notifications that I vastly prefer to tiny notification icons so the lack of the latter doesn't bother me. I actually hate notification icons as I am usually running 4-5 background services with permanent active notifications that eat up all the available space. This way I only get dismissable notifications that are actually notifications.
I can't comment on the cell signal quality as I haven't got out of a city lately and here the signal is decent everywhere. Band coverage shouldn't be a problem in Europe, I think. All in all, I haven't regretted the purchase and don't underestimate the 'smug factor' of owning a phone that's a much smarter purchase than all the fancy branded ones.
My dream came true with this legendary phone.... I used to think that when I will use flagship processor.... But my budget not that much high to purchase flagship mobiles ... But after seeing this mobile with high end processor .. I felt that I too have a legendary mobile in my hands... I don't see any brand before purchase ... Just I saw the snapdragon 845 processor and I bought this phone and I felt happy ... This phone is awesome and Google camera is working like a charm ... And I am using pixel experience ROM ... I love that ROM ....
POCO (LOVE )

the camera warps when you try to stabilize a video because no ois, further note all phone cameras suck at low light video. Google camera by far enhances this phones zoom and low light capabilities greatly.
Remember guys this phone is full of compromises
Of course there are better phones with better screens if your expecting a phone with an amazing Samsung display or flashy looks then best to buy a samsung phone. The only positive side the phone is the copper heatsink and 845 processor. The screens display is praised as not complete garbage.
If your a casual phone user it's better to go with a used s8 because this phone is only for pubg
Pros
Xiaomis support of modding is insane even providing warranty when rooting.
Lenovo and Huawei are terrible in comparison you would be lucky to even have 1 custom kernel or rom on those phones.
I was iphone user ever since 3gs, switched from iphone 7 to pocof1 last year and fell in love immediately. First vacation with my wife took maaaany pics, incomparable to her s7 edge or my iphone 7, so much better. Paid 300€ for 128gb version, unbeatable. Countless custom roms, updates coming fast, of course there r better phones, but they cost 700€ or more, so no, thank you, no more "flagships" for me. Been using poco for 4 months now, no regrets not for a second. AND...i dont need a f..... screenprotector or cover or any other protecting sht like before, not scared of getting scratches, and i dont have any yet, still as new. By far the best phone i ever had
Thanks for the replies guys.
What After adding to Huawei blacklist Trump that big screen cell phone would be good to buy. I love my 20x mate but let's be honest this will affect a lot to Huawei and q out your operating system and my OS) or is apps that has Google market are going to happen years it is possible that the factory only dedicated to continue selling in China and no longer internationally.
I honestly don't think there are any as good.
I didn't want to buy a Huawei because I'd much rather have an unlocked bootloader, but for me, the big screen, active pen, big battery, and fast cpu are too important to give up.
If you don't mind a slower CPU and no pen, but still want the huge screen, go with the Mi Max series.
If you want the pen, go with the Samsung Note 9.
I you just want an overall good phone, then there are plenty of other options depending on your priorities.
But I'd stick with the Mate 20 X. We shouldn't be affected that much. I'd guessing there will still be software updates for next year or so. I just bought mine 2 weeks ago and don't regret it at all.
I want a mate 20x another brand y
Cmon, u really run already.
All will be good again in one way or another [emoji1787][emoji23]
ZenFone 6!! Looks promising.
Actually i would go for zenfone as first choice, then mi max and in last place this could be samsung note series, depends on what battery will be in 10 release.
I'm thinking about the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom, nice looking phone with full flat screen/no notch, camera upgrade or the Nubia Red Magic 3 with a 90Hz screen and also a 5000mAh battery. I now that that both are 6.65 inch and smaller then the Mate 20 X, but i hide the notch from the begin, so i think the difference wil not be huge.
The ZenFone 6 is a no go for me, because it doesn't have a amoled screen. I really don't want a new phone without it.

Yeah I am in the same boat...I mean already the Mate 20 x looks like a Hobbit compared to where I was coming from mediapad X2 and Sony Z3 Tablet Compact so I am having a hard time adjusting to the much smaller size but of course, the hardware itself is WAY above both of those phablets I had before.
All of these other phones are much narrower and smaller than the 20 X. A friend of mine wanted to try the OP7 Pro and we went to T-Mobile yesterday and he bought one to use along side his 20 X but after a day he said it's probably going back as it's just way too small. The camera isn't as good and the battery life isn't even close to the 20 X. My advice would be to keep the 20 X until another manufacturer decides to make a phone as large as the 20 X.

But the OP7 Pro looks smaller because it has curved glass, what i really don't like.
I still think it's all going to blow over and in a few months the wotsit in a wig and china will come to some sort of agreement, somewhat annoying that Donald making a decision like this affects us non Americans!
But, if the worst happened, as long as the play store etc was ok then I'd probably just carry on and keep using the Mate 20 X, Android P works fine for me so I can live with the phone staying as it is for another 12 months or so.
The only tempting part will be when the Pixel 4 and Note 10 are released and seeing what they are bringing with them, but they'd have to offer something ridiculously special which i doubt they will do

The OP7 Pro also has a 19.5:9 aspect ratio which is skinnier than the Mate 20 X's 18.7:9 and the crappy curved glass doesn't help. It sucks with phones when you live in the US. Not a lot of Global devices support all the US LTE bands.
Hi guys,
What other phone is just as good as the 20x ?
Answer is really simple : NONE.
Please don't get me wrong : I am by no means a Huawei/Honor fan.
Quite the opposite...
But let's face it : what other manufacturer offer a display that is close or above 7" ?
Answer here is really simple : there are only 2.5 manufacturers doing this :
- Xiaomi with the mi Max 3 ;
- Honor with the Note 10 and 8x Max ;
- Huawei with the Mate 20x.
Compare the 20x with the mi Max 3 and the Honor 8x max is of course not a question. They're simply not playing in the same league.
One may say whatever he wants about the Kirin SoC, but comparing a Kirin 980 with e snapdragon 636 is just not fair.
And comparing an IPS display with an OLED one isn't a fair comparison either.
So that leaves the Honor Note 10.
But it may have the same issues as Huawei. about Android.
And to make things clear : the developlment of Android has been halted to Huawei.
But :
- that doesn't mean that the past is getting rid off ; so if the phone is working right now, it will continue to work right after...
- Huawei still has access to the free source aosp and has enough power to continue to offer some updates based on that. And honestly : who is buying Huawei for the frequent updates ? You want a phone that is updated constantly ? There's only one manufacturer to go : Xiaomi... monthly updates for all their phones.
Just my own thoughts and expressing a personal opinion. I don't try to force my views on this upon any member of this community. So please, do not flame me if you disagree...
Regards.
I had all 4 phones, now i only have the M20X which is so much better the the other 3.
Then comes Note 10, Mi max 3 and 8X max.
And im satisfied as it is, so i can live with it 1 year more if.
I just hope Ark OS soon will be released, im ready to support that vs Trump/US/Google/Android no matter what. This fake president shall not decide my choice of phone.
Even if I am upset about Huawei system update policies, I've never been so comfortable with a phone before (well, maybe the Ascend Mate 7).
- The REAL dual speakers are incredibly outstanding. My wife ditched the iPad Mini-bluetooth speaker pair to start watching anything video-related on my 20X with me. We are really impressed.
- Speaking of multimedia, the screen is simply gorgeous.
- I hadn't ANY issue with ANY game. Period. I know the 855 is all around the news today, but this Kirin is nowhere behind. It flies.
- Calls are loud and crisp, seomthing which is really important for me.
- We have an LG Smart TV with webOS. It took me like 1 minute to launch the desktop from the 20X. I've tested it a couple of times, but I think this feature is something I will start using more frequently in the future, for sure.
- One of the best cameras around, even in night mode. No, no GCam needed, it does its work effortlessly and fluidly, something every frigging flagship camera should do (and not every one of them do).
Even if I only get security patches for the rest of its life, I'm keeping this beauty for a LONG time.
I also love the speakers, what phone has two real speakers? Mostly the second speaker is the call speaker now and that's sounds bad. The same with the IR blaster, what new phone has that?
I wish that 5G version was a nice upgrade (WQHD+ screen, higher ppi, 90hz, under–screen fingerprint, more ram/storage, no notch, more zoom camera), but it looks more like a downgrade.

Oukitel K9 7.12" with 6000mAH battery
I have this device
looks like a 20x clone minus some of the polish-not as fast not as loud but am sure can be improved a lot
has all US bands like 20x so works great here
stock Android 9
I got the SP flash tool flashable ROM
attached are the ROM contents
wonder if anyone could take up this for development
I picked it up from AliExpress for $179
Great great battery life better than 20x imo (but then performance is a price you pay-could be the Mediatek versus Kirin and just s/w ui polish missing)
EDIT it does have OEM bootloader unlocker option that you can choose and set active
not tried it yet-maybe it is a simple fastboot unlocker command without code (don't know untl I try or I might ask the company contacts who sent me the ROM and instructions etc)

good you got a laugh from the wrong end he he
for calls, sms, mms, internet and most apps same result for 1/3rd the price
the 0.3 cumulative seconds saved over time did not change my life (doubt changes anyone's in reality)
definitely the 20x feels better no doubt having used both

the mi max 3 imo was the best among the lot and I liked it more than the 20x ...the lack of network bands support (only 4 and 5 for Tmobile and ATT, and ATT does not even broadcast on 4 in my state, 5 is very spotty-so it was mostly on 3g or umts) otherwise mi max 3 with miui candy was the best also from balance, weight and feel standpoint
too bad no mi max 4 and mi mix 4 will never get a 6.9 variant
it seems to me that the OEMs are walking away from the large screens
why? 8x max came in the 7.2" first that the mate 20x eventually got
now 9x max is only coming in the 6.59" (as is the 9x)
then you have Xiaomi not doing the max 4
so that tells me the 6.9 to 7.2 era is done or on a pause for now
instead get 6.6 and 6.7 super skinny phones purporting to be large screen phones when they are not due to the elongated aspect ratios
Unfortunately true, aspect 19.5x9 or new 20x9 is killing size, 6.7inch samsung a70 or op 7 pro have real size of old 16x9 phone 6 inch. This is nothing.
I think also that they kill 7 inch products to make space for foldable phones which costs few times more...
But still I hope Huawei will make 30x! Not just hope, but really think it is real.
