I have a unbranded head unit that looks very similar to the Teyes CC3 and many of the other brand 9" screens. Like the Teyes CC3, it comes with a cooling fan. However, unlike the Teyes CC3 the cooling fan does not seem to connect to a dedicated connection on the back of the unit itself. Instead it has a loose connector. I looked in the entire package and cannot find a matching connector to connect this to. Picture of the unit below which shows the fan and the fan connector too.
Does anyone know where this goes?
Thanks

The black plastic near the sticker isn't a socket with protective cap stuck into it?
the wiring bundle with the RCA plugs and microphone input should have a conenctor for the fan as well

I've had a look at all the harnesses. The RCA harness pic below and it doesn;t have anything for the fan connector

well, it should. Just splice it into the green wire there (that's switched power) and any of the available grounds. Can also use the antenna/amp turn on wire (usually blue) from the main harness

If you use the blue amp wire don't forget to turn on the amp under settings.

So that green wire to the red wire of the fan? And any ground? But is the green wire running 12v and does that mean the fan will run all the time when car is on?

Yes.
I have a connector like the image attached. It contains the socket for the other end of your fan.
It powers the fan from the amp wire meaning the fan can be turned on/off via the amp on/off toggle.
There is a paid 3rd party app which can automatically control the fan based on the temp of the SoC. It does this by turning the amp toggle on/off.
As recommended by others I would connect the fan wire to the amp 12v wire if you have 1
So the green wire on my picture is that the amp wire? I connected the fan temporarily to the 12v acc red wire and occasionally the fan is soo loud. It’s so loud that I’m wondering does the fan actually need to be connected? It’s gets warm at the back but is that normal?

Hi,
I'm very keen to purchase an HTC Touch Pro in the next few days and wondered if it was possible to link the phone to my line in jack in my BMW? I would like to play my music over the car speakers and wonder what would be the simplest way to do it?
Thank-you.
yeah sure
not sure how your bmw have line in
but all devices with normal audio out
works with any cable to minijack, rca or normal jack connector
just get a extusb -> audio converter and connect whatever
cable you need for your car in one end and mini 3.5mm jack in the ohter
and you're set
touch pro should come with a factory dongle that has the mini usb port and 3.5mm jack.
as long as you have a cable that can connect 3.5mm jack from dongle to your aux input (which is also 3.5mm), you're fine.

Sorry i've gone through the manual on my car and its an AUX in port not a Line In, my mistake.
Thanks for all the great suggestions, would I be right in thinking this would be the right product.. http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=174643

I purchased a microUSB to HDMI MHL adapter but can't seem to get it working. I'm running Valhalla Black with the Anthrax kernel. I've turned TV Out on in settings and set NTSC as default. The phone recognizes that I plugged in the adapter and comes up with the screen but no output to the TV. Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!
Well the microUSB TO HDMI seems to be recognized by the phone but I can't get anything to display to save my life. Tried different HDMI cables and power cables. I pulled out an 1/8 to RGB output and was able to get video through that but the quality is horrendous. Has anyone tried to get the MHL adapters to work at all?
I don't think I've ever seen anything about anyone trying this on our phone before. We don't have tv out working for ics yet so I think mhl is a bridge too far. But then again I don't know crap. Maybe somebody with some knowledge could clear this up

The onlky TV adapter I've seen for the phone is a headphone style one that goes to RCA style plugs on a TV. Never saw a HDMI one.
These are the ones on EBay for our phones.

Also, AFAIK, tv out works on most ICS builds but the rotate of the devices doesn't transfer to the screen. Just read the notes for the releases. Ones like CM9 state TV-out is working.
The only TV out for this phone is a PL 3.5 earphone style to composite RCA yellow red white style. The MHL will work for SGS2 and above.

And with the rca cables you only use the red and white connectors. I believe it is red for audio and white for video.
I don't even think my tv has composit

Oddly enough when I plug this adapter into the phone it seems to recognize it and go to a vertical screen with the time, date, alarm, picture slideshow, music player, and go back to home screen. It only does this when I plug in the MHL adapter, not the 1/8 to RCA cable.
It thinks it's a dock?

If tv out works for you with that configuration... great. It has never worked that way for me. And by all means I am sure we all know what and where the colors go considering most components they are used with are labeled and color coded.
Yup, the best bet is to try all colors on your tv's yellow input.

Got it from ebay for like $6. The one I have is an MHL microUSB to HDMI adapter for a Galaxy S II (SGH-T989). Also make sure it has a power input, from what I read the HDMI needs the power to function. I'm contimplating diving into the SGH-T989 code and see if there is something in there that enables this or if it is hardware drivin. Samsung actually released a $50 cable for our phones that was supposed to do this so I have a feeling it is possible...

A good powered hub is near a must for a device like the NP as there are so many uses for peripherals: hard drives, keyboards, mice, USB keys, Flirc IR controller, usb ethernet, etc. I highly suggest getting a decent powered hub with a lot of ports and a good track record. Monoprice sells a pretty good powered 7 port unit that has great reviews (I have four all over my home) and is relatively cheap:
http://www.monoprice.com/Product?c_id=103&cp_id=10307&cs_id=1030702&p_id=5328&seq=1&format=2
The hub you were looking at above is limited to 3 ports and doesn't come with an a/c adapter. I'd look elsewhere, imho.
So far I have had good results with a bus powered hub. Granted, it's not going to work for a bus powered power hungry accessory, such as an external hard drive. But it powers my wireless dongle for my F710 and a USB flash drive just fine.
I've noticed my Logitech K400 had some pretty bad range issues when the receiver was connected directly to an OTG cable, but when I use a powered hub it's working great. So, it may be worth considering, if you notice any problems with an unpowered setup.
Just want to update. This cord works fine

I have this one and it works great. I broke my rightangled one trying to force it to fit with the hdmi plugged in...glad they are not expensive.
I bought my right angled USB OTG before I got the unit and also had some trouble getting it in there. The problem was that the power cord was in the way. I resolve it by simply plugging the USB OTG in first and then inserting the power cord.

FYI this is broken for many Oneplus devices after update 10.0.15 from that point forward (including beta and so called "stable" Android 11 update) this function will noot work. You can either use the 3.5mm adapter or charge not both. Very frustrating. This is combined with ongoing issues with not being able to place calls if phone switches from LTE to 3G and back up again.

No native 3.5 mm jack is a curse.
Eventually with the C port on the bottom of the phone you will likely be damage it if the 3.5mm adapter is constantly being used. Charging and using the 3.5mm together only increase the risk with another cable to watch out for.
With my N10+ it forced me to go full Apple stupid and use bt buds exclusively. Fortunately the Buds+ have the SSC codec which is similar in sound quality to LDAC. The 10+ also supports LDAC.
If the Oneplus supports the LDAC codec and you can find a suitable listening device, this is a good alternative to being hardwired in.
Edit: TL;DR The wiring harness does not have Rear RCA outputs (only front and subwoofer). I had to splice in the RCA for the rear because there are pins outputting signal. (See solution below for details)
I'm running Hal9K Mod with Android 10 flashed. I bought this head unit a couple of years ago from iDoing on Aliexpress and I'm just installing a 4 channel amp for the front/rear door speakers and a monoblock amp for the rear sub. The sub RCA (brown) is sending signals fine and the FL Out/FR Out is sending signals fine, but the adapter dongle they sent with the head unit doesn't have RL Out and RR Out, like I would expect. Instead they have R IN and L IN! WTF? I contacted the seller and they were fairly useless. I plugged in my rear RCA pair into those but get no signal from them to the amp. Just to make sure that it wasn't the speakers or the amplifier, I switched the front and the rear RCA cables at the amp and then it sends signal, so I know the RCA cable is good, the amp is fine (at least on the front signals) and the speaker is fine.
Is there a software setting or another dongle that I can purchase that actually has the proper RCA outputs? I was expecting to unplug one dongle and plug this one in and then it would only send speaker signal to the RCAs but instead its still sending audio through the plain wires (I've only done one rear speaker so far). Anyone have this head unit and 2 Front, 2 Rear and one sub output?

Attach pin outs of your unit / connection diagram
Where do I find them? I have the Lei Ma (LM) variant of the PX5.
Edit: The pinout on the MTCD and MTCE are different. This pinout won't help anyone with an MTCE. See solution below.
This is a screenshot of an MTCD schematic. I don't know if it's the same though
Here's the PX5 datasheet, but I didn't see any wiring pinouts in it.
I have a multimeter and I could test the pins if I know what to look for. I could likely isolate the signal by setting the fader to the left rear and then test each of the pins while music is playing, but I don't know what reading I'm looking for to tell me that I found the correct pin. Then once I find the correct pin, I'll need to figure out how to pull the RCA plug from the useless pin in the harness and insert it into the correct one.
I figured it out. I went to a local car audio electrician and we probed it together. I'm posting the solution here for anyone else with this head unit that wants to use Rear Audio RCA. The R IN and L IN are not outputs for the rear L and R speakers like the seller told me.
We had to cannibalize an RCA pair from another wiring harness (although you could repurpose R IN and L IN if you wanted). Here are the pinouts that you need:
- Left Rear RCA signal (white): 4th pin from the right on the bottom row.
- Right Rear RCA signal (red): 4th pin from the right on the top row.
- Shared negative (black): 7th pin from the right on the bottom row.
It works perfectly now. I hope this is helpful for anyone else.
Good result. Thanks for posting.
Hey guys!
I've just bought a PX5 Android head unit to Skoda Octavia 3, instead of MIB1 Bolero. Everything works fine, it's fast, but I have 2x2ch amps in car.
RCAs don't give any signal at all..... Nor rear or front, neither sub RCA-s. Wiring is perfect.
In Factory menu i could find a Power Amplifier Settings menu, but it's gray, can't be opened.
In the scroll down menu, no possibility to activate AMP.
Remote switches both amps, connecting a phone via 3,5mm jack to amplifiers, it works fine. When I connect back to the head unit, it stops working. I can only hear it working like 5% of the sound it should...
We measured if there is rupture with multimeter, we measured 0... no beep. Moreover we tried to measure the outcoming signal, but nothing. it's 0,00. On every RCA. Anyone any tips?

Send it back/warranty
Agreed. If the wiring is setup like I have pictures and you still get no signal to any of the RCAs then it may have a defect or they didn't include some hardware.
Alternately you could purchase a line level converter and use the factory speaker wiring to create your signal for amps. Some amps even have this built in. My Rockford fosgate does.

Yeah, I misread @kukoladam s post. I thought he was getting sub output. Maybe a DSP then... But that's starting to get expensive. I'd send it back or start testing pins on the back of the unit. The way the car tech did this that I took it to is that he had a single wired headphone connected to a few probes. He switched the head unit on and turned on radio static with a reasonable volume then started probing using a known ground pin to see which pins were giving him output. Turns out my rear channels were on pins that the harness had no RCAs wired to.
There may be more eloquent ways to detect signal with a multimeter that someone with more experience than I could explain. In an ideal situation you would do this testing in a bench environment, but in a pinch you can do it on your car as long as your wiring allows you to pull the head unit out enough to probe the back.
Im a noob here. Sorry in advance for the dumb questions.
I have a similar issue but my RCA-RR and RCA-RL are on the 4 pin adapter. Which of course did not come with the radio.
Does anyone know where i can find this plug? Or even what these types of plugs are called?
From the attached pic you can see they are located in output socket C.
For the lifge of me i cant find a plug forthis socket.
