Audio line out? - Touch Pro, Fuze General

Hi,
I'm very keen to purchase an HTC Touch Pro in the next few days and wondered if it was possible to link the phone to my line in jack in my BMW? I would like to play my music over the car speakers and wonder what would be the simplest way to do it?
Thank-you.

yeah sure
not sure how your bmw have line in
but all devices with normal audio out
works with any cable to minijack, rca or normal jack connector
just get a extusb -> audio converter and connect whatever
cable you need for your car in one end and mini 3.5mm jack in the ohter
and you're set

touch pro should come with a factory dongle that has the mini usb port and 3.5mm jack.
as long as you have a cable that can connect 3.5mm jack from dongle to your aux input (which is also 3.5mm), you're fine.

My Sprint Touch Pro came with a dongle that has 2 mini-usb ports and both 2.5mm and 3.5mm jacks. One mini-usb port is for sync/charge and the other one is for mini-usb headphones that also came with the phone.

Mmm.. mine's an unlocked Touch Pro from Asia, that's probably why.

www.expansys.com
sell them
suppose many other stores both online and offline sell them too

Sorry i've gone through the manual on my car and its an AUX in port not a Line In, my mistake.
Thanks for all the great suggestions, would I be right in thinking this would be the right product.. http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=174643
Cheers guys!

if it's aux in then you just get a cable like this

it's the same analog signals being used
but if it's AUX OUT then connecting your pda would be a bad move

in the case of your BMW AUX In an Line In are totally the same thing just go ahead.

It works great for me as a Mass USB reader and wireless mouse or keyboard ... BUT ... the way it plugs into the big slot on the bottom of the tablet is not very safe. With the USB stick plugged into it, it sticks out like 4 inches.
I am afraid it is going to break off soon ! I am looking for a cable to do the same thing, but would plug into the mini usb port on the side of the tablet, not the big connector at the bottom. Is there such a cable for this device ?
I have a mini to regular USB for my Kindle Fire but the mini port is different then the one on the Asus.
I know this is a question, but I think it is more of an accessory related item ... so I hope it's in the correct forum :fingers-crossed:
Thanks for any replies !
Ps. I do not have the docking station.
.
Ah,
Bought one of them things too.
Hardly ever used it...I searched for a dongle cable for a couple of days then gave up.
I'll probably blow more money on the $90.00 connect dock if I can find one.
Seems like if we want have a connection options your kind of cornered by Asus.
Maybe the keyboard dock is the way to go

The subject has been brought up previously. With the capability of screen rotation, all you have to do is rotate the tablet 180 degrees so it sits on top.

Good thinking that is one solution.
I'm afraid it put's too much bind on the tablets plug.
Stress and fear of damage are the main reasons I rarely use this.
What mini USB slot? That's a micro HDMI slot, and it's output-only...
"Pad:
1 x 2-in-1 Audio Jack (Headphone / Mic-in)
1 x micro HDMI
1 x Micro SD Card Reader"
The only USB connector in this tablet is in the dock.

Did you find anything which does this?
Can I ask a question: I'm looking at getting a Chord Mojo too but sometimes I just want to listen to Spotify - I'm pretty sure it'll work, but can you confirm?

Unless you're a premium spotify user, using an expensive DAC for low quality music is not ideal.

Yeah - no way I want to listen to low quality music (or ads) through a nice amp/dac and some pretty nice IEMs

It's there any external DAC that works with the Pixel XL?

Hello, just got the XL. Has anyone tried using external DAC/Amp like the Audio Quest Dragonfly with the OTG dongle or found any that works?

OP I've heard good things about this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015JESV4S/ref=psdc_13880161_t1_B01DFMV4NQ
I am hoping for a USB-C DAC with Power Delivery passthrough, for car audio whilst charging. I did consider using a USB-C Power Delivery HUB, but it would have been a bit of a mess. So Bluetooth for now while I wait and hope.
Or if manufacturers have the imagination ..
a USB-C PD car charger with built in DAC
or
a USB-C PD car charger with built in USB HUB (That we can connect a DAC to)
Unfortunately manufacturers seem confused about USB-C but it does open up some interesting possibilities

I am using http://hifimediy.com/DACs/ready-made-dacs/Sabre-9018-Type-C-DAC with my Pixel-XL. It works well, but is about as noisy as the Nexus 6p with high efficient Balanced Armature IEMs. Its only noticeable on really quiet tracks in a super quiet room. It works well with my Sennheiser HD 595s and Beyerdynamic DT 990 250 ohm and 600 ohm.
I only wish it had USB-C PD pass-through so that I could charge and listen at the same time.

Does the Dragonfly work without the anker dongle by just using the small dongle supplied with the Pixel?
Dragonfly only works for me with a USB audio player pro as the media player to make it work.
My FiiO does not work. Exact same setup works on Nexus 6P however.
Not sure what the issue is. Tried two different USB-C to USB-B adapters, neither work.
FiiO powers on, but just basically static noises.
Yes there seems to be a problem without the special media player to drive the devices. I was surprised my Dragonfly didn't work after kirdroid indicated that his is working without a USB audio player.

Charge and listen to music via 3.5mm headphones at the same time?

I want to know the current state of charging and listening to music via 3.5mm headphones at the same time. Does OnePlus have a official and good adapter for this?
Thank you.

FYI this is broken for many Oneplus devices after update 10.0.15 from that point forward (including beta and so called "stable" Android 11 update) this function will noot work. You can either use the 3.5mm adapter or charge not both. Very frustrating. This is combined with ongoing issues with not being able to place calls if phone switches from LTE to 3G and back up again.

No native 3.5 mm jack is a curse.
Eventually with the C port on the bottom of the phone you will likely be damage it if the 3.5mm adapter is constantly being used. Charging and using the 3.5mm together only increase the risk with another cable to watch out for.
With my N10+ it forced me to go full Apple stupid and use bt buds exclusively. Fortunately the Buds+ have the SSC codec which is similar in sound quality to LDAC. The 10+ also supports LDAC.
If the Oneplus supports the LDAC codec and you can find a suitable listening device, this is a good alternative to being hardwired in.

I am also getting same issue fro today. No idea how to fix it..
Since X3 already has a headphone jack, the DAC (Digital-To-Analog) is wired only to it.
In other phones where there is no 3.5 jack, the DAC is wired to the USB C port.
You will get this error if you are using a USB dongle or headphones from another phone which does NOT have a headphone jack on this Poco (or any other phone which has a 3.5)
The solution is simple.
Purchase a USB to 3.5mm with built in DAC. They cost significantly more but will definitely work.

i also hv this issue in my poco x 3 indian variant and there is charging problem also and i hv never used any usb dongle or usb headphone in it.
Then it means something is shorting the pins and giving the phone an illusion that something is connected or trying to connect. If it's a brand new phone, it's better you get it replaced. If you leave it as it is, it might damage the charging circuit and then eventually the battery.
Normally issues like these crop up after 1-2 years of heavy phone usage as the charging port either gets worn out or dirt builds up. But since your phone is barely 10 days old... It's better you get it checked at the center.
I m also getting this problem since last 2 days now. The popups keep coming and thr is no way they are going. Poco's twitter support say to factory reset. But that is very inconvenient. Please suggest some quick and easy fix!!

I did buy a dongle with built in DAC, but it didn't work for my Poco M2 Pro. It was supposed to have DAC, along with support for 24bit/96kHz audio. I am just searching for workarounds, because otherwise, this was a waste of money
I think, maybe these phones support USB earphones, but not adapters? Because, I have found no solution for the DAC adapter that I bought, but I don't have a type C earphone to test it out. Also, what are "digital earphones"?
