It works great for me as a Mass USB reader and wireless mouse or keyboard ... BUT ... the way it plugs into the big slot on the bottom of the tablet is not very safe. With the USB stick plugged into it, it sticks out like 4 inches.
I am afraid it is going to break off soon ! I am looking for a cable to do the same thing, but would plug into the mini usb port on the side of the tablet, not the big connector at the bottom. Is there such a cable for this device ?
I have a mini to regular USB for my Kindle Fire but the mini port is different then the one on the Asus.
I know this is a question, but I think it is more of an accessory related item ... so I hope it's in the correct forum :fingers-crossed:
Thanks for any replies !
Ps. I do not have the docking station.
.

Ah,
Bought one of them things too.
Hardly ever used it...I searched for a dongle cable for a couple of days then gave up.
I'll probably blow more money on the $90.00 connect dock if I can find one.
Seems like if we want have a connection options your kind of cornered by Asus.
Maybe the keyboard dock is the way to go

The subject has been brought up previously. With the capability of screen rotation, all you have to do is rotate the tablet 180 degrees so it sits on top.

Good thinking that is one solution.
I'm afraid it put's too much bind on the tablets plug.
Stress and fear of damage are the main reasons I rarely use this.

What mini USB slot? That's a micro HDMI slot, and it's output-only...
"Pad:
1 x 2-in-1 Audio Jack (Headphone / Mic-in)
1 x micro HDMI
1 x Micro SD Card Reader"
The only USB connector in this tablet is in the dock.

Has anyone tried to use the charger cable and a USB gender changer?

Audio line out?

Hi,
I'm very keen to purchase an HTC Touch Pro in the next few days and wondered if it was possible to link the phone to my line in jack in my BMW? I would like to play my music over the car speakers and wonder what would be the simplest way to do it?
Thank-you.
yeah sure
not sure how your bmw have line in
but all devices with normal audio out
works with any cable to minijack, rca or normal jack connector
just get a extusb -> audio converter and connect whatever
cable you need for your car in one end and mini 3.5mm jack in the ohter
and you're set
touch pro should come with a factory dongle that has the mini usb port and 3.5mm jack.
as long as you have a cable that can connect 3.5mm jack from dongle to your aux input (which is also 3.5mm), you're fine.

My Sprint Touch Pro came with a dongle that has 2 mini-usb ports and both 2.5mm and 3.5mm jacks. One mini-usb port is for sync/charge and the other one is for mini-usb headphones that also came with the phone.

Mmm.. mine's an unlocked Touch Pro from Asia, that's probably why.
www.expansys.com
sell them
suppose many other stores both online and offline sell them too
Sorry i've gone through the manual on my car and its an AUX in port not a Line In, my mistake.
Thanks for all the great suggestions, would I be right in thinking this would be the right product.. http://www.expansys.com/p.aspx?i=174643
Cheers guys!
if it's aux in then you just get a cable like this

it's the same analog signals being used
but if it's AUX OUT then connecting your pda would be a bad move
in the case of your BMW AUX In an Line In are totally the same thing just go ahead.

Problem with HDMI connection.

Yesterday i bought a hdmi cable. And when i try to play a movie i get "lost signal".
Maybe the cable is the problem? Or the xoom?
Look the video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-txeeflDjI
I was playing a video converted with DVD Catalyst 4 in HQ 2. Playing with moboplayer...
This happen to with games or all the things that use lot of resources such as games or videos.
Can someone help me?
Regards-.
it's most likely the cable. like 70% of the micro hdmi cables i've tried just dont work half the time. I really really hate micro HDMI and want it to burn and die. Where'd you buy the cable?

Here. May be im going to buy one on amazon or ebay.
Have you got any recomendation?
Looks like a xoom problem to me since it's flickering on the xoom. But I don't know if an HDMI cable would cause that or not. I seriously doubt it though. I use my HDMI cable just fine.
some cheaper micro HDMI cables from amazon, aren't reliable, I got a rocketfish cable from best buy and it works perfect, except it cuts off some of the edges of the image on the TV but this is common from what I hear.
That looks like a Xoom issue. When I had mine plugged in, I had the TV flicker a little because I didn't plug it in to the Xoom completely, but the Xoom didn't flicker at all. I'm using a little adapter, not a cable.

I test the same video playing with the galery and its work fine...
Really strange..
Xoom Issue
I'd say there is a problem with the file or the Xoom. I had a bad HDMI connector on my Acer A500 and it would lose the signal and picture to the screen, but never lost the image on the A500.
I would try to output the desktop from the Xoom and not a video. Connect the HDMI with the home screen showing and see if the Xoom plays it on the LCD. If it does it is most likely a video file issue. If it doesn't, it is probably an issue with the Xoom.
If it were a bad cable I don't think the Xoom would lose the image on its screen.

Micro SDHC host mode cable?

I know some phones can use this cable, can the Atrix 2? I have a USB Flash Drive that I take with me practically everywhere... All my friends/family use them too, and if my phone could use this cable, I would never need my laptop!
Anyone know if this cable will work with the Atrix 2? Also, will the Droid RAZR MAXX work also?
*Edit*
I am still new to the forums, and don't have 8 posts yet, so I can't post a picture or link to the item in question...
Basically (as I'm sure most already know what it is) its a cable that looks like the phone charger on one end, and on the other is a female USB
Good question do not have one so I can not try but I would use one if it works..... Here is the pic for you

Thank you hank! That is the exact cable I'm talking about.
I know that the Galaxy Note can do it, and a few other phones, but I don't know if my Atrix 2 will... I'd really love if it could!
Anyone know if this will work? I don't want to buy it if i'm wasting my money... : \
I'm seeing a lot of websites that sell them for the Atrix 2, but I saw some youtube videos that say it requires a power source to use a keyboard or mouse...
All I want to be able to do is plug up my USB Flash Drive to it, and it be able to read it...

I'm not really sure the is a definitive way to tell until someone actually tries it.
Sigh, I guess I'll just buy the cable... Amazon has them for like $2... I'll get back to you all.
I have that usb OTG but it doesn't work, doesn't work on my friend's gs2 either.
Maybe i bought the wrong one, some people said that there are 2 version of usb OTG,one for sony and other one is for samsung, but idk for sure.
Hope it will work for you.

I hope so too!
You said Sony and Samsung?
I have a Motorola FML
Just got it in the mail... Does not work.
Tried using a 32GB Flash Drive. It didn't do anything at all. Tried a 4GB Flash Drive, still nothing.
I don't want to carry around a USB Bridge to make this work... I wanted something convenient to transfer files back and forth from one USB to another. Guess I'll have to keep lugging around my laptop : \
My buddy has a Skyrocket, and it does work with his phone. I'll probably sell him the cable...

[Q] Can anyone recommend me a different micro usb cable?

I do not want to get the genuine one as they dont have that flexible thing (example below).

Other Cables
I say this because i have used already 4 HTC cables and they all stopped working properly when that rubbery bit rips (example below).
The phone doesnt charge properly and the computer doesnt recognise the cable/phone.
I want a recomendation because i once used a nokia cable but that didnt work as it took forever to charge my phone.
Out of these ones which one will work properly: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_2?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=micro+usb
THANK YOU!

I use the blackberry one. I bought a few of them as they were in pound land - recommended
The Nokia cable shouldn't be slower as its basically the same
I haven't had any problems with the cables I've bought from monoprice.com for about a buck a piece... Every one of them charges just fine and works will on the computer as well.
I haven't found a cable which doesn't work. Any cable I throw at it works just fine .

This.
If you buy anywhere else, you're paying too much.
I really like CMPLE cables. You can get them from Amazon and they're not too expensive either. http://www.amazon.com/Cmple-Micro-P...GXDK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1355161774&sr=8-1

Simple, buy a powered USB hub and you can use OTG plus charge at the same time. It must be a "powered" hub, not a normal hub, you may also need to get an adapter to convert regular USB to microUSB if you can't find a hub that connects to microUSB

Do a google search for:
"Powered USB hub for android"
There are many different kinds, there are some cheap ones on eBay. Make sure it is a powered hub, you won't be able to charge if it is a regular USB hub.

This is something like I'm talking about. It has a microUSB male to connect to the device and 3 normal USB female connectors to connect USB and OTG devices then an additional microUSB female to connect your charger.
